At first there was a blur of memories, events you couldn't even fully remember. Places and faces blurred to color blobs around you, this was one you recognized.
Faces of people you know would start to appear around you, murmuring softly amongst themselves- you had to crane your neck to see all of them.
They stood so tall, their faces held malice and accusatory written all over. The sight of it all sent a pin prickle of shame through your entire body. There was a feeling it was about you
Slowly the figures began to turn away from you one by one, their voices getting louder and angrier. Salty tears began to swell in the corner of your eyes, threatening to fall and leave you like they were.
Quickly you lifted a sleeve and wiped your eyes, using the other free arm to reach out and desperately you cried out a
'Wait- I'm sorry, Please,, i don't know what i did, please tell me,, Don't leave me'
You didn't want them to leave, you didn't want them to be mad, you had to fix this. The remaining faces contorted and distorted; they spined around you faster and faster as voices began to drown your senses. It was beginning to swallow you whole, Desperately you clasped your hands against your ears and shut your eyes to try and block out the overwhelming sounds and sights. You braced yourself as the mass began to encase your lower half and creep further up your body.
Just before the mass could swallow you whole, you felt the feeling of weightlessness as if you were being picked up and spun around, there was no face to the arms that held you. The sound Bells and laughter filled the empty air as your tears began to dry. You wanted nothing more to stay in this feeling, the warmth and happiness it radiated
But soon the world faded to black and you were alone in the darkness. It would feel like an eternity until you'd hoist yourself up from the ground and begin to walk in an aimless direction until you found it. Of course it was here, it always is. There was light, it was bright gold and radiated a warmth so comforting, you approached the orb. Hesitating just for a moment before reaching out to it with both your arms, There was something so familiar about this light, this was about the fourth time you've seen this orb just this week alone. Just a little further and you'd have the answers to why you've been looking for,, Just as your fingers brushed past into the dancing golden strands of light, so close to the answer-
There was paws on your face, once as soft and plush as it could get- Then another with the flare of claws sticking into your cheek and a loud 'murr' piercing the air.
Your eyes flutter open with a groggy sounding grunt. Your vision was far too blurry with sleep to make sense of anything until another soft cotton-y paw with little pinpricks slapped your face, this time with a more aggressive and demanding 'Meow'. With another sleepy, now in pain, groan- You hoisted yourself up from the warm cocoon of blankets that were trying to wrap you in their arms, to lull you back to sleep. As soon as you were up you felt little paws scurry up onto your lap which caused a small smile to tug at the corners of your mouth as you yawned and stretched your arms up to the ceiling. The little sounds slipping from your lips sounding closer to that of a dinosaur than anything a human could make. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes with one hand, you aimlessly pat your other hand around the soft plush blankets until you hit the little crunchy sounding accessory and grabbed them. Slowly you put the glasses on and looked down at the little ball of a kitten on your lap. The nightmare was still fresh in your mind, this wasn't the first time you've had it either, its been off and on the past couple weeks. You made up your mind to not put too much energy in trying to dissect it again today, after all today is a big day
"Good Morning Chowder" You yawned out "You gotta stop being a little menace to me in the morning, I'm going to be covered with little bloody pinpricks because of you"
The little Siamese kitten looked up at you and scrunched her nose before letting out a mighty yawn and meow at the same time in protest to your words. Lazily you plop a hand onto her little white and grey face, petting her softly, using your thumb to pet from the bridge of her pink little nose to her grey ears. She began to purr loudly as you did so, the little sounds of her collars bell made a soft melody with the sounds of her making biscuits filling the room.
Chowder was only about a month old, she was just a tiny little thing; a Siamese mix! Her paws were a dark grey and her tail was beginning to turn grey. Her little face was mostly grey with the bridge of her nose being white, she had a little splotch of white under her right eye as well. Chowder looked up at you again and meowed, her little pink fish collar's bell jingling as she hopped off your lap and off your bed to slowly drag you out to feed her finally. With a small chuckle, you toss the comforter and sheet aside and plant your feet in the soft carpet below. Using the bedside table as a leverage, you got to your feet and followed the kitten out of the room.
"Alright, Alright little muffin, calm down. I'm getting your food" You laugh softly, taking a peek at the clock on the stove. It read out '4:12am' It was about an hour n a half before you had to get ready for your first day of a new job.
"You know, I do have an alarm clock silly kitten, you don't need to wake me up at the crack of dawn" You mused to the kitten as you picked up her ceramic slow feeder and put in a mixture of wet and dry food before setting it back on the floor.
After another good full-bodied stretch, you decide there's no point going back to bed so you return to your quaint little room and gather up some clothing. Thinking back on it; you remember that the place you are working doesn't really have a strict dress code; its more of a theme. With that in mind you grab a cute little light blue wool sweater that buttons up; it had a bunch of clouds on it. Alongside that you grab some grey jeans, a pastel blue tee-shirt with a sunflower and bee on it and your bee converse.
'hmmm' You hummed out to yourself as you grabbed some moon earrings and a sunflower necklace before walking to your bathroom.
You had a quaint little apartment; a bedroom, spare bedroom that's currently a studio, living room and kitchen that are conjoined and a bathroom. Oh who could forget the murder basement, as you called it, it was an unfinished basement that had the needed junk for a washer and dryer.
You laid your clothing down on the closed toilet and started up the shower; nothing better to wake you up honestly. As you climbed in; your mind began to wonder back to your new job! You were really excited but also a little nervous about it; this was the first time you've heard of the old Freddy franchise in a long time, you were about 4 the last time you were there. Its been what? 20 years since the fire that burned down the PizzaPlex. You recount that a lot of the animatronics were salvaged; being used for parts, some were remodeled and used else where and well some were auctioned off. The ad had mentioned that the old daycare attendants were owned by the owner of Celestial care, out of curiosity, you did in fact look up what they looked like- All you could find though was some older photos of a honestly pretty terrifying looking animatronic. You would be in charge of cleaning as well as occasionally helping cook, being a general caretaker for the Daycare during its active hours and then for the adoption center when it was closed. Since you were training today; you had to go in at the ass crack of dawn instead of the usual 3pm. To be put frank- you have never and probably will never be a morning person.
With a hum you massaged some vanilla scented shampoo into your hair, nearly jumping out of your skin when two little blue beaded eyes stared up at you from the crack in the curtain. Little chowder jumped onto the edge of the shower and sat; watching you for a moment until you flicked some water at her
"Don't give me a heart attack, its to early for this" You squeaked before shutting the bathroom door. The rest of the shower went pretty uneventful.
As you stepped out you grabbed the towel and dried off, studying yourself in the full body mirror. You were a bit more chubby than most people and you didn't feel wholly comfortable in your skin a lot of the time but you were slowly learning to love yourself. You had long hair that you kept tied up most of the time and you were practically blind without your glasses, being farsighted. Aggressively drying off the rest of your face you pulled the clothing on and started up the hair dryer, humming to yourself.
By the time you were done styling and drying your hair into a fancy ponytail and putting your jewelry on; it was about 5am. Just about 30 minutes till you had to leave. You hummed while putting together a quick lunch of a peanut butter and banana sandwich, some cucumber salad, chips, fruit and a little can of soda. You tossed these into your pooh bear backpack along with some general necessities such as a water bottle, a sketchbook, a few snacks, a first aid kit and an extra pair of clothing. You grabbed your phone; one of those ones that could close into a little block and be shoved into your pocket. It had a cute moon case with a little silver chain that held a bunch of little dangle-y accessories. Having just enough time to rest before you headed out, you grabbed one of chowders favorite feather toys and played with her. With your phone going off signaling your alarm to leave, you give the little kitten a kiss on the forehead before grabbing your bag and locking up the house
The Sun was just starting to rise, the sky was a myriad of pinks, yellows, reds and oranges. The clouds looked so fluffy and calm as you walked down the street to your little beat up car. Scooting in you prepare yourself after tossing the bag to the passenger side and pull out from the street. You jam out to your music as you drive through the morning traffic; Usually you assume the ride will be 30 minutes once you start you real schedule. Tapping your fingers on the wheel you peek over the car in front of you and catch a glimpse at the big building decorated in clouds, suns, stars and moons. There was a playground outside that was fenced in. To say the building was massive was an understatement. The owner, Selene Silver, had transformed an old warehouse into a fully functioning adoption center in one half and a fully functioning daycare in the other. Your smile only grew as you pulled into the parking lot and parked, hoisting your short self and you bag out of the car.
Entering the building you were met with a lovely smell of lavender, a small cheerful tune playing as you get into the main lobby. It was decorated to look like space; having dark walls with stars and planets. Sitting at the front desk was Selene Silver herself just flipping through the paperwork she had. She was a petite and short woman, long pink hair was tied back as she wore a yellow blazer with a little sun stitched on, her pants having stars on it. The woman looked up and pushed her glasses up, the corners of her lips curling up into a very warm and welcoming smile
"Ah! You are here early, good good. Welcome Y/N L/N!" She chimed cheerfully to you as you gave a small awkward wave in response, suddenly feeling your nerves beginning to build- This was real. "Not a Morning person are we?" Selene mused and grabbed something from behind the desk as she continued her train of thought "We have a temporary badge for you until your training is done and we can get you a photo taken. This badge will let you in and out of the building and into most places in the building as well. Unfortunately you wont be able to access everywhere; some areas like my office and the kitchen after 10pm will be locked."
You nodded and said a small 'noted' to make sure she knew you understood everything she had said, the woman was a bit taller than you as she walked over; handing you the little moon decorated badge. You slipped the badge on and clutched your bag, fumbling with your thumbs as she spoke gently "You look great; As you know our facility has a business casual dress code, but with a splash of the celestial added in"
Selene made a small 'follow me' motion and you obliged, following her through the set of double doors that opened up into a large playroom area. She said something but you were too awestruck to fully process what she said. The room was massive- Having a painted sky, half night half day.
Under the day section there was a corner where kids could draw with dry erase markers, canvases and art supplies were lined up on shelves up against the wall of this area. Next to this was a huge stuffed animal plushy zone; boxes and hammocks full of plushies were spilling, the floor looked to be plush and soft and honestly you wanted nothing more than to run and just collapse into the pile. There was a couple play towers, some swings and a foam block pit with trampolines. This was literally a child's dream come true for a daycare.
Between the two zones; there were little child sized tables and some bigger tables against the wall; you assume for the adults and older children. There was also a rock climbing wall that had its own plush mat for the kids to break their fall with.
Under the Night portion, there was a few blanket forts, piles of pillows and blankets. Against the wall there was shelves of pillows and folded up blankets. Besides these there were multiple cases of bedtime stories, a Nightlight or a few plugged into the wall nearby. It seemed this area of the daycare was much dimmer than that of the day area, you assume that this was for nap time. In the opposite corner there was a bunch of beanbags and bookshelves full of books for children to teens. In-between there was a few toy chests as well. This seemed like the much more cozy, quiet and calm area of the daycare.
You shook your head and looked to Selene "I am so sorry, could you repeat what you said, i am,, so taken aback by how big this place is- my goodness" Selene waved it off with a beaming smile and small chuckle "Its alright, all our employees have this kind of reaction, wait until you meet Sun" She mused before continuing "This is the daycare; it is stocked by people of the community as well as my own personal funds, if you have anything you'd like to request to be added; please let me know. Part of your job will be to watch the kids here during your shift, and help clean and sanitize the place once we shut down for the night. The Daycare is open from 7am to 7 pm. The Adoption Center is open from 8am to 9pm." She took a breathe before continuing "We don't have many children here in the adoption area; but some do come and need some time before they can mingle with the other children. There are some really shy kids, some have food allergies and some other medical issues. I believe I sent you the files for the kids currently in our care as well as the kids who are our usuals in the daycare, yes?"
You nodded recalling the files "You did ma'am"
She nodded in approval and lead you through to the double doors on the other end of the daycare, it was quiet right now because you were there before the typical opening time and before the kids were allowed into the daycare. She quickly showed you the bathrooms, there was one in the main hall and each dorm room had their own too. You learned that beyond you there was only a handful of other folks working here due to how much the animatronic that works here does, he of which who is currently charging right now after the long night before. The two of you enter the kitchen, it was quaint but had big enough pots and pans to feed a small army, as well as a ton of plates and bowls, cups and everything. It seemed the normal residents of the adoption center had their things labeled.
"This is the kitchen, we have a calendar that tells what's for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day" Selene murmured softly to you as you stayed out of the way for the two staff members who were currently bringing bowls in to clean them, it seems they were finishing up breakfast now, you noted that there really weren't that many in here "The kids usually eat breakfast in their dorms since the daycare isn't open by the time the kids wake up, Usually you wont see this as you are apart of the afternoon crew, but its useful knowledge to have" You nod and continue through the door that some of the staff came in through.
Selene showed you the interview rooms and the adoption centers entrance; it looked a lot more professional but still kid-friendly and soft like the daycare's entrance. There was multiple seats for potential parents to be waiting. A little desk where a woman looked up and wiggled a little in her seat before getting up and running up to Selene, swooping her up into a big bear hug, causing Selene to stifle a giggle as the woman smooched her cheek.
This woman was a bit heavier set and had dark ebony skin with freckles scattered about, her thick black curly hair was tucked back into a tight bun and she was dressed in a pastel blue blazer with a moon stitched onto it. Her pants were black and she had a more professional appearance than Selene. She set the other woman down, standing about a foot taller. Selene fixed her hair as her face was a blazing red "As I'm sure you are aware, I run this facility with my wife, I handle more of the daycare as she handles the adoption process and center" The woman looked proud and gave a slanted smile as she propped her hands on her hips "Its a pleasure to meet you, I am Selene's Wife, Neveah Silver. I run this part of the facility, seeing if our little ones have proper possible parents. We do extensive background checks alongside a grueling interview process, Our top priority is getting these babes into good homes."
She seemed quite nice, a lot more loud and boastful than her wife, you were pretty sure this woman could potentially bench you.
"Its really nice to meet you Ma'am" You offered politely, you shift yourself to hug your bag and offer a smile
"Oh hun you can call me Nev or Neveah, no need for such formalities" Neveah waved it off with a hearty chuckle and nodded over to the doors behind her "C'mon, lemme introduce you to the 5 angels in our care right now, Selene needs to set up for the day so ill be taking over for the moment before we hand you off to Sunny Bunny. We will be having some new kids be transferred here soon, so we don't have many here yet" She explained as you walked to the door, Selene giving a wave as she disappeared back through the doors to the Daycare portion of the facility. Neveah swiped her card through the doors lock and it made a little jingle, behind the door was a hallway that had two bathrooms and then three doors for the kid's dorms. You started with the room labeled 'Unspecified/Questioning' Neveah had explained that they do everything in their power to help the kids explore their gender identity and that they had this dorm made for the kids who didn't feel they belonged in the female or male dorm rooms
The room was pretty small, having little dividers of bookshelves between each of the beds- there was about 5 in total. All the kids seemed to get their own special bedding and toys/items that they got to take to a new home with them. There was only one little kid in this room. They were about 5 and were very shy, running up behind Neveah's leg as you crouched and waved, a kind smile on your face
"Hi little one, I'm Y/N L/N, Starting today I'm going to be one of your caretakers. Can you tell me your name pretty please?'
The kid had shaggy brunette hair that covered their eyes, they wore a sweater and some shorts; having a few bandages on their knees and one on their face, hesitantly they looked up to Neveah who nodded "Go on Baby"
The little one stepped out and kept a tight hold of Neveah's pants leg, and shook their head, so Neveah answered for them after letting out a soft disappointed sigh "This little angel is named Oliver"
"That's a Lovely name Oliver, how would you like me to refer to you- Like She/He, They/Them?" You mused quietly hoping the kid would answer for themself
They thought for a moment and tugged on Neveah's leg, whispering something as she kneeled before scurrying away behind their bookshelf, you pouted in disappointment- they probably didn't like you did they? Neveah noticed your pout and patted a hand on your head. She turned to the kid and said in a motherly tone "Oliver, baby, The daycare is opening soon, I'm going to take Mx. Y/N to meet to other kids, okay?"
The two of you exited the room back into the hallway and Neveah offered an apology, Oliver is one of the kids who is frequently picked on so they are not the most social, having issues trusting newcomers so easily. You nodded and voiced your disappointment but then mentioned that they seem to be really friendly with Neveah, Neveah laughed to this and agreed, the kids saw Her and Selene as Foster Moms.
The next of the dorms you entered was that of the Female, a knock was given and swiftly answered by a kid who looked to be about 12, She had deep eyebags under her glasses. She was dressed in a hoodie and jeans, having long braided black hair. The girl took a look at you and decided that you were indeed allowed into the dorm, she swung open the door and announced loudly to the other girl in the room "Pipsqueak there's a newbie here, say hi" All you heard in response was a very childish 'Yay'
Gingerly you stepped into the room and found it to be set up like the other dorm, the Teenager had returned to her spot on her bed, reading a book that seemed to be something of a vampire romance judging off the cover. She felt cold towards you, which is fair enough- it seems this will be a recurring theme until the kids got to know you, you guessed.
Neveah introduced you quickly to the teenager "Winter, this is Y/N L/N, They are starting today as a new caretaker here, please do not cause them much trouble." Winter scoffed in response and shoved her glasses up, digging her nose further into her book
A much more energetic little girl came bounding up, she had a big teddy bear in hand and one of the biggest smile "HI MISS Y/N!! I'M ALLISON, YOU'LL PLAY WITH ME LOTS RIGHT?? ME AND MR.TEDDY RIGHT??" She was,, so Loud but it melted your heart. Allison was a 4 year old girl, she had long ginger hair tied into pigtails, she had a gap between her front two teeth and a face so full of freckles you thought it was adorable. Currently she was in a princess dress and tiara showing you the big plush teddy bear she had been dragging behind her
You crouched to get to her level and gently took Mr.Teddy's hand to politely give a shake and beamed at Allison "Its wonderful to meet you Princess Allison, You too Mr. Teddy. I pinky promise we'll play lots" She giggled and stomped her feet happily at your actions Neveah explained to the girls that the daycare was about to open and that she was going to have you meet the rest of the kids. With that you left and made your way to the last dorm
Unfortunately there was no answer to the knock, Neveah suggested that the boys were probably taking a shower; they usually were the first ones up n would take showers after breakfast so they can spend the day playing. You nodded along and asked a few questions about the boys; mainly to make sure you had their names, ages and general personalities correct from what you read in their profiles as Oliver's hadn't been updated. Neveah had confirmed that the information was right. They had two boys currently living in the center: Damion, age 8, He was very high and mighty a 'prince' of the playground and often had other little boys following him around in the daycare. The other was a mute boy named Louie, he was still learning ASL, only being 4- He was the brother of Allison and much more timid and shy compared to her and the other kids. More so than even Oliver. After explaining answers to your questions about the kids, Neveah brought you back to the daycare to meet the final important staff member. Your heart was in your throat as your mind flashed back to the images you had seen online, afraid. You hung a bit behind Neveah as you entered the daycare through the adoption wing's doors.
In the center of the room, a hulking mass of yellow and red is crouching down to talk to a child, one you recognize; Oliver and two you don't, two little boys. The animatronic fully stood up again as the kids ran off to greet the new kids being dropped off at the daycare. Sun did not look like the animatronic you found online, the shock being clearly written on your face. He was standing at a bit over 9 feet tall, long and slender. His face was more humanoid in shape from what you could tell from the angle you were at, his head was connected to a metallic neck. Sun was dressed in a button up shirt that had really puffy sleeves, little bells tied to red ribbons at the cuffs, beyond that he wore red pants and suspenders that had golden stripes and the same bells and ribbons tied to his ankles. There also seemed to be a metal hook sort of in the center of his back that was peeking out from the shirts back. He had a long thin tail with a tuft of hair at the end and his feet had no shoes, rather being paws. This detail struck you as an odd one, out of your own confusion, you whispered the Neveah before continuing to walk "Wait are you sure this is the same animatronic from the old Plex,,Is this the right animatronic-?"
Neveah raised a brow at you but then looked to sun and then back to your perplexed face, a smile creeping up on her face "He's a lot more approachable now ain't he? We got him remodeled after purchasing him n Moon in an auction Hun'. Those paws are for his counterpart, so he doesn't wake the kids up. The tail is to help with his balance as well as helps kids from getting lost and its made to be sensitive so they can get his attention easier without having to scream" She explained the changes "We looked through a lot of the old reviews, a lot of kids were terrified of these two because of their faceplates so we upgraded them to look more humanoid so the kids would be less afraid; They can emote better and kids can read their lips. But you should go introduce yourself, Sun has been so excited to meet you Rain Cloud" With that Neveah hung back and gently pushed you forward towards the animatronic. You gripped your bag tighter still very uneasy with this tall yellow man. As you approached sun fully turned and you got to see the rest of his details.
Suns face was for sure more humanoid, he has a long pointy nose; part of his face resembling a pastel yellow crescent moon, multiple rays protruding from his head. They began to spin in an excited manor as he fully noticed you, He had deep blue eyes that widened and seemed to sparkle! He had ears just before the rays, they were long and elven like; matching his yellow skin acrylic. You didn't have much of a moment to react before sun hopped Infront of you and gently picked you up from your armpits, this action caused you to drop your bag.
He began spinning you around with a beyond large gleeful smile on his face as he sang out "HellOOO!! You are a New Friend!! I Am SO SO Happy you are Here!! You ARE Y/N Aren't you?? You ArE!!" He quizzed with the excitement bubbling over from his voice box as he was hopping around still holding onto you. You had to take a moment as you thought back to the nightmare you had; the bells, the feeling of weightlessness and the laughter of children, this felt like Deja vu. You blinked with an expression of a deer caught in the headlights, this caused sun to slightly frown and set you down after crouching "Oh I'm Sorry friend!! I got so so excited when I saw you that I didn't even think that you might not like spins!! Im so sorry!!" Sun blubbered out as he scrambled to pick your bag up for you "Here!! I am sorry for making you drop your bag!!! Its really really cute!!"
You gently took the bag and readjusted the hem of your shirt, clearing your throat out, trying to choke down your unease "I-its okay, I'm happy to meet you Sun! I hope we can get along and work well together"
You mustered a kind smile and quietly walked off to go ask Neveah where the employee lockers and breakroom were so you could put your things away. Sun watched you leave, perplexed by the interaction to some degree.

Sun had woken up from his charging after about two hours, he usually rests from 5am to 7am, to get back to full charge after Moon spent the night patrolling the facility. When he had awoken Selene had given him the rundown of the situation, they had finally hired the last set of hands for the time; someone to help in the afternoons in the daycare and adoption center. He knew that their name is Y/N L/N and man!! He was so excited to meet you. He is always so excited to meet new people and make friends. Sun would spend some time prepping for the fun busy day ahead of him! He cant have the daycare dirty, that was a big nono!!
So he was folding extra blankets and tidying up Moons area before the lights would be fully dimmed later in the day, this was the only time he could ever clean moons side. Humming the daycares music to himself, Sun tidied up the paints and the toys that were strewn about from the day prior. He unfortunately had a malfunction yesterday which had prevented him from cleaning up before moon began his patrols. The thought of it made him furrow his brows and pout, he hoped that you wouldn't think that the place was so terrible because it was so dirty in here.
"Mr. Sunny!!" A little cheery voice piped up from the adoption centers set of doors, the little pumpkin, Oliver was partially though the door. Sun's face widened into a huge!! Smile, he was so happy to see the kids. Oliver ran over, their sweater too big for them, so the sleeves flopped a bit as they did so, Oliver would tug on his pants leg, so Sun obliged and crouched down to their level. They gushed happily between labored breaths from having run so far "Mr. Sunny!! The New Lady is really nice!! I like her!! A Lot!!" They had a small smile, sun clapped and picked the little kid up and spined them cheering happily "That's wonderful Raindrop!! I am So sop happy you like our new friend!! Oh I'm so excited to meet them!" Sun would set Oliver down as Damion and Louie ran into the room shortly after, their hair was still dripping wet
Sun put his hands on his hips "You two!! You know the rules!! You cant be in the daycare when your hair still sopping wet, you could ruin the books or someone's art projects and we cant have that!"
Sun scolded softly as they got to him, Damion pouted and crossed his arms "But Mr. Sunny, we wanted to be here before our friends got here, My hairs not too wet" He puffed out his chest and shook his head to make a point; a few droplets of water landed all over the mats and got onto Sun, Oliver and Louie "See!! Its fine now!! Louie's hair is wetter than mine" The little boy pointed his finger at the other who stuck his tongue out and quickly rubbed his shaggy dirty blonde hair with his long sleeves. Sun couldn't help but chuckle at the boys but waggled his finger at them "You two still broke the rules, Moons going to have to put you in the corner at naptime as punishment, we cant have rulebreakers in the daycare now can we?" He scolded again but it was short lived as the kids were distracted by their friends who had just entered the daycare. Sun let out a sigh and watched as the three kids ran off to greet the ones entering the daycare with their parents; The parents were speaking with Selene about pickups for the day. Sun quietly ran a few scans on the parents and children who were new today. With records coming back clean, he relaxed his shoulders and stood back up. This is when Sun noticed there was two new people in the Daycare coming from the adoption center
He Turned and Oh my!! It was you!! You were so small! and you looked like a little soft cloud! Sun couldn't wait and felt his inner fans kick up to try and cool his excitement down, but to no avail. Sun would hop over to you within a few moments, scooping you up by the armpits, spinning you around with a happy song of "HellOOO!! You are a New Friend!! I Am SO SO Happy you are Here!! You ARE Y/N Aren't you??" Before you could answer, Sun scanned over your face and then noticed the moon temporary staff badge and exclaimed an excited "You ArE!!" But that was when he noticed your expression, you didn't look happy- Rather you looked so spooked. 'Good job Sun, you scared the poor thing' He scolded himself and his big smile turned down a bit as he set you down
"Oh I'm Sorry friend!! I got so so excited when I saw you that I didn't even think that you might not like spins!! I'm so sorry!!" Sun blubbered out as he scrambled to pick your bag up for you "Here!! I am sorry for making you drop your bag!!! Its really really cute!!" He stayed crouching, his hands hanging Infront of his torso like a scolded child, eyes fixated on you waiting for a reply.
It took a moment but you had a kind smile though it felt off when your voice shook a bit when replying with "I-its okay, I'm happy to meet you Sun! I hope we can get along and work well together"
You quickly turned on a heel and returned back to Neveah before exiting the daycare again. Sun stood back up and rubbed the back of his neck, Purely perplexed as to what just happened
'Did we do something wrong? I though y/n would be excited to meet us to' Sun pouted mentally to his counterpart, picking at his left wrists bow
"We Scared Them Dumbass, Of course they aren't going to be excited" Moon hissed back, irritated at the way you were handled "You need to control yourself sun, not everyone is as excitable as you"
"I know!" He whined with another pout before his eyes lit up with a new resolve "We have to do something to make it up to them Then!!"

You finished putting your lunchbox into the fridge in the staff room before making your way back to the daycare to start your day. You had to give yourself a bit of a pep talk to get through today; you really liked Selene's and Neveah as well as the kids. You decided to keep your space today and will see how your training goes. If you couldn't get over your unease by the time your training was done, you decided you'd find a different job. As you got back to the daycare you put a bright smile on your face as you went to introduce yourself to parents; learning about their kids and things to avoid. Once the last of the kids parents left the daycare, Sun tapped on door to get the kids attention and announced they were going to have a game of hide and seek, He was going to be 'it' first so you could get use to the rules of the game. The kids were ecstatic for the game, and you ended up getting swept into the excitement as Sun turned around and began to count Loudly "10,,,,,9,,"
You were giggling as the little lady from earlier in the day tugged on your pants leg. Crouching you look to her as she whispered in an excited tone "Come on Miss Y/N, i have the most perfectest hiding spot!"
You nodded as she grabbed your hand and lead you through the daycare to under one of the play structures; it was a small nook between the wall and a slide; so you had to crawl in and then she stood Infront of you "I protect Miss y/n! No one will find our bestest spot" She proudly announced in a hushed tone as Sun's 'Come out, come out wherever you are!' which was responded with a few giggles all over the daycare. You silently counted the minutes as you heard kid after kid get found and yelped when yellow hands picked up Alison with a scoop, bringing her out of the play structure. You peeked out and watched as quietly as you could. Allison was giggling her little head off as Sun spined her around and then brought her close to boop her little nose and exclaimed "I Found you!!" He set the little girl down and she scampered off the go gloat to the other kids that she was out longer than them. You didn't catch it; but sun glanced back and saw your sweater, he smiled mischievously and announced to the kids "Uh Oh!! Looks like Miss Y/N is still not found!! Where EveR Could She be??" The kids let out little gasps and began shouting out random areas to try and help the animatronic find you. You really couldn't help but stifle a small giggle; having to cover your mouth so you wouldn't be caught, were you really the last one out?
After a few more minutes of the kids rummaging around and sun scampering about the daycare, he dramatically threw his arms up in the arm and fell back after checking no one was behind him; "We couldn't find her raindrops!! Miss Y/N Is tOO GOod at this game, I give up" He cried out, laughter in the edges of his voice. You slowly crawled out of the tight corner you had been in and push your glasses up as you get to your feet outside the play tower.
Allison let out a loud gasp and ran to you "YOU DID IT MISS Y/N!!! OUR SPOT WAS THE PERFECTEST!!!"
You crouched down and nodded "It was wasen't it? But you were the one who got caught little munchkin" You booped her nose and she went to go boast to the other kids about her spot.
You dusted yourself off, standing back up and putting your hands on your hips. You watched as sun began instigating other games with the children. You wound up being lead over to the arts and crafts area for most of your shift; up till lunchtime. Oliver had grabbed your hand and was the one to lead you over, before returning to their little spot at one of the tables with who you assume was their friend- They were sitting and fingerpainting. One of the kids had asked you if you could draw and you waved a hand saying that you could a little. So it was only natural when the kids handed you a marker and told you to show them. You decided to draw a cat, it wasn't the absolute best but the kids were absolutely enamored by it. Suddenly you found yourself at the mercy of a bunch of little kid's requests for things for you to draw on the whiteboard wall
Your current request to add to the board was to draw Sun, you obliged and began drawing having to pause every few minutes to look over your shoulder to try and get a good angle and you couldn't help but feel that unease start to slip away more as you saw him acting like a train conductor as he had a chain of toddlers holding onto his tail and holding hands, marching about the daycare. A smile spread across your face as you added in you drew what you saw. Kids would begin requesting more and more things; A dog, A Robot, A snake with arms, a teddy bear with mechanical arms. They kept getting weirder and weirder as the hours went by; the clock ticking from 8 am, to 9, to 10 and 11am.
By the time you set the marker down, you checked your watch and saw that it was now '11:38am' and announced to the kids "Alright you guys, lets go clean up and wash up so we can all sit and have lunch!" Some of the kids grumbled while others were quick to hand you their art that needed to be put on the shelf to dry. It only took about 15 minutes but you soon had about 15 kids cleaning up the messes in the art corner and then you formed a single line, leading them over to the sinks to get their hands and for some; their faces and arms, cleaned of any paint and markers. After you sent the kids loose to go sit at the tables while the staff were beginning to bring out the lunches for the kids. Selene tapped your shoulder and told you that you could take a break now while the kids were eating. You nodded and went to the employee rooms to retrieve your lunch. Needing some quiet you sat on the floor of the employee lockers and opened up your sandwich to take a bite as you heard a knock on the door. You looked up and would've choked if you had taken that bite
"HI Sunspot!! Are you not going to eat with the kids??" Sun questioned while cocking his head to side, a long finger pressed to his cheek like a confused child
"OH Hi Sun, nah- I love the kids already but I cant really eat around them, y'now?" You paused shortly and then looked back to him waving your arms in a panicked manner "SORRY that was insensitive, you cant eat can you- you wouldn't need to right? Being a robot and everything" You blubbered on hoping to whatever gods are out there that you weren't making this situation worse "Gods I'm sorry, the more I speak the more I feel I'm making this worse" You wheeze out with defeat and take a bite of your sandwich
"Actually!! I Can eat!!" Sun beamed as he took a seat? Well more of a crouch on the bench next to where you were sitting "Miss Selene and Miss Neveah gave me taste receptors and a bag in my chest cavity so the kids could feed me things and so I could enjoy their taste!! I had no idea food was so,, So yummy!!" He exclaimed loudly as he sat down further, holding onto his ankles as his bent legs splayed out; even sitting he was still so tall, it almost hurt your neck to look up at him, he cocked his head again and continued his questions "What do ya mean by you can't eat out there? Are you feeling unwell?"
You waved your hand in a dismissive way in response and continued to explain "Eating around children grosses me out to where I lose my appetite, i have nothing against kids but they aren't the cleanest eaters or most don't eat with their mouths closed" You shuddered and took another bite of your sandwich before musing more to yourself "That's honestly really fascinating, I had no idea a robot could even enjoy eating"
"I love it a lot!! We had pizza last night and it was wonderful!!! So Yummy and good!!" He announced before his face rested on a slight pout "Well that's no good Miss Y/N, The kids are going to be so sad but we cant have you missing meals!! - Your blood sugar has been so low most of the morning, did you eat breakfast Sunspot??"
You froze a bit "How did you? know what my blood sugar levels are at??" the words squeaked out as you looked up at the animatronic, letting out a sigh and pouting slightly yourself you answered truthfully "I didn't no, I'm not really a breakfast kind of person- Its why i bring so much for lunches, to give me a ton of energy for the rest of the day till I can get home"
"Oh!! I can run health scans on everyone, it helps me make sure the kids are okay- if they break bones its an easy way to find out" Sun explained with arm motions to follow "Im also connected to the internet!! I have a ton of features to help the kids out" He cheerfully gloated to you as you snorted and took a couple more bites of your food
"So you really like this job? You seem enthusiastic about it" You mused, you assume its just because of his programming
"Oh!! I Love love love it!! The kids are wonderful!! I get so sad when they go home for the day"
"Sad? Wait so You can like,, feel things?" You quiz, now it was your turn to cock your head to the side in a curious manner
"Sure can!! I'm sure Miss Selene told you, Moon and I have learning AI! Which means we get to learn a ton of emotions!! Miss Selene says that it'll help the kids warm up to us more" Sun beamed his charming big smile at you before thinking for a moment and his shoulders slumped "I am so sorry for earlier today!! I didn't mean to scare you miss Y/N, I reeaally didn't mean to"
You waved your hand again and pink flooded your cheeks out of a bit of shame "That,, wasn't your fault Sun. I had come here with a perception of you in my mind and it scared me, I shouldn't be so judgmental. You seem really sweet and cheerful"
Sun tapped his hands against his ankles in an excited and happy manner as you heard the whirr of the rays on his head. "Well thank you Sunspot!!"
The conversation from there fizzled out as you were finishing up your lunch- You knew at least a little bit more now and the more you look at his bright self; the more you realize that he's not scary at all- More like a big puppy. You were honestly glad that someone came to hang out with you, it would've been a little sad spending your lunch break on your first day just watching YouTube on your phone. He hummed as he hopped up from his crouched position and gathered up the trash from where you were sitting, singing a soft 'Oh what a mess! Nono! Clean up, clean up' as he tossed them in the recycling and trash respectively. You half expected him to say something more but nothing came. Sun was about to leave the employee's locker room when you stood up and grabbed onto you arm; flashing a real smile to him
"Hey Sun? Thank you, I think I'm really going to enjoy working here" You chimed before putting your empty lunch box into your backpack, prepping yourself mentally for the next two hours before you were to go home.
With a smile you enter the daycare room again, the kids were finishing up their lunches and washing their hands. Sun was already corralling the cleaned up kids to play some games, or more of listing out a ton of activities to where the kids were all screaming out different things. Soon enough the kids were running about trying to tag each other in order to decide who's idea will be used. You, at first, walked over to the night side of the daycare, to watch over the quiet kids who had their noses buried in books. You sat on one of the beanbag chairs and propped your head up with the palm of your hand, watching as Sun's rays drooped sadly as a kid had caught up to him and tapped his leg, he went to the corner where the other tagged kids were and sat in the half crouch he had been in back in the breakroom. You couldn't help but chuckle a little as you watched the game continue, keeping a soft conversation going with some of the kids as they were telling you about the books they just finished. After a little bit the kids in the reading corner slowly dwindled as they went to go join in the fun of the game of tag. You, yourself eventually joined in and kept your pace slow so the kids could tag you if they tried hard enough.
You were giggling wildly as you dogged the little boy who was chasing you, he was yelling 'I'm gonna get you Miss Y/N!!'
You started to slow your pace, but you tripped over your own feet causing your face to get intimate with the matted flooring in the matter of seconds with a loud thunk. The kid ran to you and put his hand on your head with a cheery "Tag, Your out!!"
You groaned and mustered a weak thumbs up to the kid.
Suddenly you felt metallic hands under your armpits and the whirring of gears "OH Sunspot!! Are you okay?? That fall must've hurt so much!! Did you scrape anything?? Do you need an icepack??" Suns voice box had a bit of static to it due to his worry. He lifted you up as one would to a cat
When you tilted your head to look back at him, you found his brows furrowed in worry "I'm an Adult Sun, A little fall isn't going to be the end of me, I'm okay I pinky promise"
You wiggled your legs in an effort to try to touch the floor and buried your face into your sweater with a mumble of "Can you put me down now please"
You were gently set back down onto the floor, you dusted yourself off as you took in how your knees were hurting a bit and your nose too, but its livable
"OH!! Sorry Sorry!! Are you Absolutely 100% totally positive you are okay Sunspot, don't make me run a scan on you" Sun fretted, ending with crossing his arms
"My knees and nose hurt but nothing that needs any scans of any kind- So i assume this little scamp won n now gets to pick what we all play next" You look the to little boy who was beaming and he yelled out
"Duck Duck Goose!!"
So everyone was gathered into a big circle. At first the kid who selected the game was it and he went around three times- Patting everyone's head and shoulders as he went. Doing the typical 'duck,, duck,, duck' until finally he reached Oliver and yelled 'Goose' before breaking out into a run to get around the circle again to beat Oliver to their seat. The kids laughed wildly when Oliver was left to go around the circle. The cycle would continue as Oliver hit 4 people and had no luck getting their seats. They would all full on sprint while little Oliver was stuck behind, doing their best but not being able to pick up any meaningful speed. That's when you noticed it; Oliver was much slower than the other kids, They weren't smiling anymore, their smile starting to waiver on the edge of a frown as they continued the game; you quietly pointed to yourself after getting Oliver's attention, playing it off when you think they understood by picking at your necklace. Oliver seemed to have gotten the memo because by the time they reached you their little voice yelled out 'Goose' You got up and stalled for a moment so Oliver could get a head start. You kept a slow jog and feigned a fake disappointment when Oliver took your spot on the floor. Luckily it seemed none of the kids noticed your little stunt
"Dang it" You exclaimed with a big dorky smile "Looks like I'm it"
You began walking around the circle gently tapping kids shoulders with a 'Duck,, duck,, duck' until you came up to sun, your smile turning to one of mischief as you tapped his head and yelled 'GOOSE' and took off around the circle to steal his seat, you nearly tripped and caught yourself last second before plopping yourself down where sun had been sitting with a loud 'Umph' and wiggled, tapping your hand against the matted floor as sun picked up the game, not even phased by your antics. He went around 3 times before another kid got to have a turn. You got tapped another time by a little girl and you made an effort to actually get the seat without using your adult speed to take it, you failed miserably at this and got stuck going around the most times of anyone. Everyone including sun was giggling at you as you crossed your arms and pouted "No fair you guys are working together" you cried and then tapped the next kid with a 'Goose'
This time you did manage to get the seat but before the game could continue; Neveah had come into the daycare and clapped her hands together yelling a '1, 2, 3, Clap if you can hear me"
To which all the kids, sun and even yourself clapped as the room died down in silence, Neveah having everyone's undivided attention "Alright thank you angels, I need everyone to say goodbye to Miss Y/N, Its going to be naptime soon and She has to leave for today. She'll be back tomorrow at this time, Now come along children, Help Sun clean up" You got to your feet and dusted yourself off, saying goodbye and giving hugs to the kids who asked for them before the ran off to surround sun as he started to give them little jobs to help clean up the daycare before naptime. You gave a quick wave to Sun before following after Neveah.

Sun returned the little wave you had given and turned his attention back to the children, he brought the last group with him over to the arts and crafts section. It was more clean than it usually would be by this time of day which made Sun really happy. One of the little girls grabbed his tail and he crouched down
"How can I help you Dewdrop?" He asked as she held out a couple paints that had dried out
"I found these Mr. Sunny" She said and Sun thanked her before having her put them in a box full of dried out paints; he had a couple more to re-bottle today it seems. Sun didn't mind through, whatever saved Miss Selene and Miss Neveah some funds. With a hum he grabbed a bucket and a washcloth; filling it up with a cleaner to wipe down the whiteboard.
"I can do this during naptime Sun" Moon stated, less as a suggestion but a matter of fact
"Nonsense Moony, you have to watch the little ones and make sure they get their rest" Sun retorted as he turned the faucet off and brought the bucket over to the white board he ogled the drawings all over the board, this wasen't the usual drawings that the kids did. Not to say that they weren't good at drawing, the kids he watched were all fantastic artists in their own right. A boy from his cleaning group piped up and said "Miss Y/N did those! She drew the Puppy with laser beam eyes for me!" He proudly stated as some of the other kids piped up and told what you drew for them
"She did very well!! Very very talented" Sun chimed to the kids as he began to ring out the rag and wipe down the bit of drawings from the board, singing to himself a 'Clean up, clean up' as he went. His tail whipping around as he slightly danced, getting the bits of marker that got off the whiteboard or were much taller than the kids could typically reach
"Moon Look over there, Isn't that you?" Moons voice pierced through Suns mind again and he snapped his eyes to where moon had directed, The animatronic wiped off his hand and put the rag down to move over and get a better look. There was a little doodle of him and the toddler parade; all playing Trains, it made him smile fondly and he brought up a finger to carefully erase around that drawing. Once enough was erased, Sun continued cleaning up the whiteboard. Keeping the one precious memory

Neveah nudged you a little as you follow her into the hall that lead to the kitchen
"You did really well today Y/N, the kids seem to really like you" She chimed as you guys walked into the employee section of the place. You walked over to your locker and began gathering your items as she ran through the things the next couple days of training will cover to you. You nodded and made little 'yes's and 'noted's to make sure she knew you understood. After she was done, Neveah said a goodbye and left back through the doors. Presumably back through the daycare.
You made sure everything was still in your bag and flipped your phone open to check the time and the messages you have; as normal there wasn't really anything besides a few emails and game notifications. You took the route through the employee break room to get back through to the Daycare centers entrance.
As you made your way to your car, You couldn't help but feel that you were really going to enjoy this job.
