I walked into your office demanding to know about the situation,
But what I found instead was, for me, a revelation.
If I had a penny for every time I saw someone and just knew,
I would have one penny, and it would be from you.
Knew what you may ask?
Well to tell you, that would be quite the task.
I couldn’t stay with you long, that day,
Which was much to my dismay.
I was on an important mission,
And I can’t talk about it, because it would raise suspicion.
My biggest regret, was taking my leave,
But I had to believe.
I had to believe I was good enough for this,
And that I would come back to your arms, in which I miss.
I truly believed, I really did,
But believing doesn’t always work, no, I don’t kid.
Relying on belief is like fighting a fire.
You, yourself don’t catch fire, unless you wear the wrong attire.
You remember your life, and all the things you had done,
You want to turn to your friends, but then you realise you have none.
I can’t go back in time and stay there,
That truth is almost too difficult to bear.
If I’d stayed with you, I’d have a bright future ahead,
But instead, I lie in the bottom of the pit, dead.
Maybe, if I had instead let you in,
I could be with you, My love, My darling, My Jacquelyn.
