Secrets of a housewife

Summary:

A short story explaining why Tweek has blonde hair.

She asked for happiness and her life gave her coffee...

Chapter Text

I don't remember the exact moment when my life took this course...

-Hey Craig, oh! Why do I have blonde hair?

-Possibly you have a relative with honey blonde hair

-but none of my ahg! Relatives is blonde-haired

- None of your family? Father and mother?

-Yes

-Well, there is the possibility that a blond baby is born to brown parents, although it is very low

Do you think that was my case?

-Most likely...unless your mother has a secret

-AAHHHGGGG! Craig don't say that!

-Hahahahaha I'm sorry Honey

That reminded me of something.

Something I've tried to forget for years.

Sigh. I walked down the hall of my house, and as I walked I could see some paintings that were hanging; one of them was my wedding with my now husband: Richard Tweak. I remembered how beautiful I looked, how beautiful that day. In front of the altar I showed the love I had for that coffee maniac, I said my votes and in the end he said I accept.

It still surprises me how I didn't bite my tongue when pronouncing: "I promise to be faithful to you"

Next to that painting was a photo of the most important thing in my life, my son Tweek.

It was an old photo, Tweek was just a baby when we took it, I remember having to make funny faces for me to look at the camera and smile, that put a smile on my face; remembered that beautiful moment with my family was an indescribable feeling, but the best thing will be to say that it is happiness and maternal tenderness.

With that same smile on his face I went to the room I shared with my spouse. I sat on my bed and took a sip of the coffee I had made recently.

I have always associated coffee smoke with Richard, his eyes are brown like his hair, and every time I look at him he makes me sleepy.

All of this brings back memories, memories of how it all began.

flash back

It was a day like any other at South Park High School.

The bell had rung recently, meaning it was lunch time and many students were running to be the first to get the first slice of pizza.

I arrived at the dining room, I was wearing a green dress, a purple bow and my brown hair was loose and somewhat wavy.

I walked to one of the tables and sat down, reading a book and trying to ignore all the compliments the boys sent me.

At that time I was one of the most popular girls in high school, I still never knew the reason; I didn't have Barbie's boobs, or Laura's beautiful eyes and hair, or even Liane's charisma.

I considered myself a normal girl, I was aware of my beauty, but surely there was something that only boys saw. His compliments were somewhat annoying but flattering, for politeness I always thanked them, but I never felt that they were true compliments, I felt them empty and without feeling.

It was something to be expected, we were just teenagers, love was something ambiguous, we could say that we are in love and the next moment be drooling over someone else.

What they felt towards me was simple attraction, they considered me cute, but only that, none of them approached me for something serious, just simple temporary relationships that would not last more than 1 month, enough time to take me to bed according to them.

I wasn't interested, a relationship with one of those idiots was just a waste of time.

Sigh.

If the compliments continued unless it is from someone who is really interested.

-Y-you're very pretty

And at that moment it happened.

-My name is Richard, Richard Tweak

I asked for happiness, and life gave me coffee.

I am Helen...

I saw that boy in front of me, he was trembling a little, he seemed nervous and his cheeks were red; all the boys who had called me pretty said it with confidence, they didn't seem nervous and they were flirtatious, but he didn't, he caught my attention as he had been the only one who did notice that he was blushing in front of me.

-I-I know, all the boys talk about you

"Arg," I growled in disgust.

"Oh sorry," she apologized, as if he had done something wrong.

"Don't apologize, it's not your fault" I said.

-Can I sit with you?

I just nodded and moved for him to take a seat.

-It's okay to be flattered, that's not what bothers me- I explained- what really bothers me is that some of those compliments are something...racy

-Oh

-It's disgusting and I don't like it. When he calls me cute, okay, I appreciate it, but when I look at them I can see that they say it with other intentions- I said, since yes, I felt somewhat uncomfortable about those comments, and more so because I already knew their true purposes

-They are idiots. Richard told me- they try to woo you without even getting close and knowing you

Well, that's exactly what you're doing.

I saw how he gave a small jump, his cheeks turned red and he became more nervous; that seemed adorable to me.

-Hahahahaha Hahahahaha- I laughed seeing his reaction. That made him laugh too, his laugh was like music to my ears

-Do you want some coffee?

He asked me, he handed me a glass of pastico with coffee, still hot and with an particularly delicious smell.

I took it and took a sip, and at that moment I felt something special.

- What do you think? - I ask

-The truth is I've tried many coffees before, but for some reason this one felt special- I spoke to him

-I'm glad you like it! my family makes coffee

-You can tell, this coffee is warm- I took another sip- it tastes like home

I saw how he smiled at my words, his smile was beautiful.

-I like your smile- I complimented him- it's adorable, and it's not like those silly boys who think they know what love is

-Love should be enjoyed like a good coffee...'for each sip a sigh- he said taking a sip of coffee

-It's true- I took another sip- you are very wise in this of life

-It's because life is like a cup of coffee, everything is in how you prepare it and how you drink it- he told me while his tone changed to a calmer one, as if he were speaking in metaphors

-Ha ha ha ha ha ha

At that moment I realized something, other boys had previously approached me, trying to flirt with me and talk about their achievements to impress me, those approaches only made me more uncomfortable; but with Richard it was different, because in his voice and his expressions I could notice genuine interest in knowing me, liking me and falling in love, which I liked very much.

-You really like coffee, what is your favorite?

-My favorite coffee will always be the one with your eyes

That made me blush, he winked at me and I let out a laugh, if he was here to pick me up then he was getting it.

-And how do you like your coffee?- I wonder

-I like...with you

I saw again those rosy cheeks that he adored, seeing him as a lovesick goofball trying to woo him was adorable.

-W-Well, if you like me, we should get together more often and...drink coffee.

"Are you asking me out?" I asked.

-Yes...no...just-just if you want

Nerves got the better of him again, he stammered, trying to appear confident at my words, but he couldn't.

-Why do you want to have more coffee with me?

-My mother says that when you have coffee with someone who is or will be special, the coffee tastes better- I reveal myself blushing

"Am I special?" I asked curiously.

-Yeah, well, I always thought you were cute, but when I get close to you, to meet you, it's obvious that you're more than just a pretty face. you are great helen

That made me color and smile. The other boys until that moment only thought that I was a pretty face, the rest about me was of no importance to them, it was the first time that I felt that "pretty" was authentic...it was special.

-Well, the truth Richard is that they call me cute all the time, but when you do it, I feel that it is special- I revealed

-I-In what way?

-In the best of ways Richard

I gave him a smile, and he blushed again. Scared and nervous, he looked me straight in the eye...

"W-you want to go out with me, Helen?"

I wonder, talking about him was a quick thing because of his nerves. And that question brought a smile to my face.

-Just-just if you want, consent is important

-Hahahahahahaha- I laughed- of course- I said accepting

That made him blush more, he was a nervous wreck, but he seemed happy.

The bell rang signaling that lunch was over and we had to go back to class.

-Helen let's go

I heard my friend Laura call me, she had made signs to get my attention so that I would accompany her.

-I have to go Richard, but the date is still on me, maybe, tomorrow in the park

-Cl-sure, there I will be waiting for you sweetness

I laughed internally when he realized what he told me, his face was priceless, and I decided to play along.

-Hahahahaha, I'll count the seconds, handsome

And before I left I kissed him on the cheek and winked at him to go with Laura

-I will never wash this cheek- I could hear

When I finally join Laura, we both walk to the classroom.

-Take off that silly smile- he told me

-Why?

-I saw you with that Richard Tweak, what did she tell you? -I wonder, she was always protective of me, defending me from malicious boys and envious bitches

-He just approached me, talked to me, gave me coffee and asked me out- I replied, I smiled remembering the good time I had with the cafemaniac

"Should I ask you out!?" She said in surprise, "please tell me you turned it down."

-Hahaha no, on the contrary, I accepted- I told him, I only got a disapproving face from Laura- he seemed...interesting, I want to know him more

"Don't be overconfident, those types of men only behave like that the first time, I'm sure he speaks nicely to all of them" Laura said trying to make me see reason, according to her

-I don't think Richard is that kind of man- I told him- I liked him a lot, his soft voice, and his love for coffee, I found them adorable

-You have a strange taste in men

-Oh leave me alone, and, better go kiss you with that red-haired athlete

"I don't like Thomas!" she yelled at me, blushing.

"Yeah yeah," I said sarcastically.

-I'm just telling you to be careful, that boy is weird

I think it's wonderful...
