Chapter Text
The ginger felt consciousness come back to his body, waking up earlier than he wanted to. Akito pulled out his phone to check the time. 1:24 in the friggin' morning...goddamnit. Akito sighs, hating this habit his body has of waking up in the middle of the night like this. He paused, wondering why he was on the floor, then remembered he and Toya were having a sleepover tonight and Akito insisted he sleep on the floor so Toya could have the bed. Akito turned over to look at the dual-haired in his bed, wrapped in warm sheets and blankets. He knew how much weight Toya was carrying every day, so it relieved him whenever he saw him sleeping, looking soft and peaceful without a care in the world. Akito smiled, staring for god knows how long until he decided he wanted to go to sleep again. He knew he couldn't so easily, so he slowly sat up and put his earbuds in, not wanting to wake Toya. He put on his midnight playlist (because it's Akito and that's what he does) and slips out the room into the kitchen to make chamomile tea for his sleeping issues. That always does the trick.
Akito's room wasn't far from the kitchen, and since the door wasn't shut the kitchen light woke up Toya. His eyes fluttered open as he slowly sat up, right in the middle of a deep sleep when he woke. They looked to where Akito was supposed to be but found no one there. Toya then sluggishly sat up, feet dangling off the bed. Should I go looking for him? Should I stay here? Toya could easily just pass out right here right now, that is until the room suddenly turned very chilly. And it was always this time at night, when it was super cold, and when Toya was tired as hell when they became physically clingy. Toya then decided to get up and look for him. He wasn't in his usual logic-based mindset he wears in public right now, as their emotional one wanted one thing and one thing only; physical affection.
Akito stirred his tea slowly, making sure it was fully made before sipping it and letting the warmth enter his body. He sighed, feeling at ease, that is until he heard footsteps from his room. Shit, did I wake up Toya? "mrgh...Akito?" The boy said, leaning against the wall. I did, fuck. Akito thought, turning around to see his partner in a daze, gray eyes half open and hair beautifully messy- wait, did he just think that? No, no he didn't. Did he? He was staring at him earlier. Fuck, what in the world was going on?
Akito hummed. "Mhm. Sorry for wakin' ya." he spoke in a low tone, too tired to speak normally. This tone was genuine and relaxed, one only Toya got to see. His heart did a few flips. "..No..I woke up..naturally." they replied, trying their best to come up with a fib in order to not make Akito feel bad. "Don't lie," Akito smirked, lightly pinching Toya's cheek. "I know I did." Toya averted his gaze, now feeling bad for lying. They looked down at the cup of tea the other made, recognizing it immediately. "Chamomile?" The ginger nodded, not surprised the Tea and Coffee Connoisseur knew what tea he made just by looking at it. "I drink it whenever I wake up in the middle of the night. Does the trick jus' fine." He then made his way back to his bedroom, Toya following shortly after. When they made it back, Akito was about to sit down on the floor until Toya patted next to him on the bed. "Ya want me to sit wit' you?" The one in question nodded, pink lightly painting their cheeks and averting their eyes away from Akito. The ginger cracked a smile, (another genuine, relaxed one, mind you) obviously thinking that is the cutest thing he's ever seen.
He then sat down next to Toya, making it harder for them to contain their touchy-ness. "Wussup?" Akito asks, sipping his tea. The dual-haired hesitantly held his arms out, inviting the other for a "hug". Akito instantly knew what mood the other was in and since Akito was touch starved too (not as much as Toya) he accepted it graciously and nodded. After setting his tea down, the ginger held out his arms for Toya. "Come 'ere." he said, Toya's heart doing Olympic-worthy gymnastics over how warm he sounded. They smiled as a silent thank-you and laid their head on Akito's chest. Arms wrapped around Toya's waist, as the one who held him let his mind wander, just this once. How am I in this position right now, with them in my arms like this? They're perfect, inside and out. Why are they with me, someone so out of their league? Akito then felt Toya nuzzle his chest further with a soft smile on his face, as a way of saying, "You're my partner, silly. We're in the same league together. No matter what we do, we're equal; together."
The pair's breathing gradually slowed until they were breathing slowly in sync. Toya was still resting on Akito while Akito was playing with Toya's hair. He loved playing with their hair, it was soft and silky, and it felt so good to touch. Akito gazed down at Toya, both of their smiles still there. Akito never liked smiling for too long, but he could smile forever when it came to Toya. He should be asleep by now, he thought, but in the contrary Toya wanted to sleepily stay awake so he could savor every last second of this with the boy he's been pining for quite some time. Turns out Akito wasn't in his logical mindset either, as he tiredly but tenderly kissed the boy on top of him on his head. Akito couldn't see it, but Toya's eyes shot open, their face quickly turning from their pale with light pink cheeks to cherry red all over. But they didn't move, wanting to see what else Akito would do.
"Real shame I can't tell you in person." he started. "But I love you so fucking much." Akito then kissed him again. Toya felt like he was about to explode, trying to gather himself. What should I do? Say it back? Wait until morning? The boy quickly calmed himself and replied, "I love you too, Akito." Now it was the ginger's turn to malfunction. "Wait you heard that?" he whisper-yelled, turning beet red. Toya turned their head to face Akito, cheeks still a bright pink and a soft smile on his face. "Mhm. I felt it too." The other averted his gaze away from those gorgeous gray eyes. "You little shit.." he muttered. Wait, why was he even mad in the first place? He said "I love you" back. Honestly, get it together.
"So..ah." Toya sputtered out, sitting up and turning away. "What now..?" Akito had to take a few deep breaths before he could answer that. "What do you want us to be..." he asked, taking Toya's hand into his and interlocking their fingers. Toya looked up at the other, heartbeat sprinting Olympic-worthy speeds. "I.." he started, not sure if he can speak. "I want us to be partners...in every way." Toya's mouth quivered, in which Akito seemed to notice. "May I kiss you, Toya?" Their breath hitched. "H-Huh??" Akito looked down at their hands, using his thumb to caress the other's shaking hand. "It's okay if you don't want to. I won't force ya into anythin' you don't wanna do, you know this." "I want to, I really do, it's just-" "Don't know how to say it?" Akito then took his hand and cupped Toya's cheek. "Lucky for you, ya just did." He then lifted his head up and closed the gap. Akito's had many sweet things before, but nothing like Toya's kiss. Oh my stars was it the best thing he had imagined. They pulled away slowly, parted for a second, then went back in, hand's going to waist and other pair going to hair, you get to decide which pair of hands belong to who.
Nothing else happened after that, just a bunch of kisses then seemed to go on forever, hell I don't even know when they stopped and I wrote the damn thing. But rest assured, they got a good night's rest tangled in one another.
