Chapter Text
The exchange event had just ended. After everyone got cleaned up, they all agreed to watch a movie in the common room, but instead, they got sidetracked, and now everyone was huddled together watching as Todo and Itadori started screaming in frustration at each other.
“TODO YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO JUMP!! JUMP, JUMP, JU- NONONO!!”
Everyone started screaming curses at Todo, the sound effect chimed, indicating that the players died. Nobara grunted, smacking the two of them in the head.
“You two idiots are fucking terrible at this game!! Give me the controller, I bet I could do better than the two of you.” She leans over, attempting to grab Yuji’s controller but her movements halted.
Gojo and Utahime entered the room. The raven-haired woman looked alarmed as the white-haired man gave them a look of curiosity.
“What’s going on here? We heard shouting.” She asked, pulling Nobara apart from Yuji.
“The two idiots were playing a game,” Mai mumbled.
“A game hm?” Gojo picked up the switch, casting his gaze on the screen. “ Todo, Yuji hand it to me.”
The two turned their heads, the two idiots shared a nervous stare. The two kept nudging each other, their not-so-hushed whispers could be heard throughout the room.
“Is he gonna confiscate it?”
“I… don’t know but I don’t wanna play anymore, Kugisaki’s right, you suck at the game, Todo senpai.”
“EH?? You’re the one who’s timing was off-”
“I’m not confiscating it, actually Utahime and I wanna play!” The albino states, wrapping his left arm around her shoulder. Utahime backed away from his touch as if it burned.
“I didn’t say anything, idiot. You can continue playing your game but please, keep it down.” She turned on her heel, about to make her way out until the tall man stood in her way.
“No way!! Aren’t ya curious about what our dear students are playing? We should try it!”
He grabs her by the hand, pushing her downwards, she stumbles and falls on her ass, mumbling curses at the white-haired man as he chuckles. You can hear the Kyoto students grumble, irritated at the Tokyo head teacher for pushing their teacher. Gojo snatches the small blue and red controllers from the two students, handing her the color blue one as he sits down beside her.
“Gojo, I don’t wanna-”
“You don’t wanna or are you just scared you’ll be bad at the game?”
She gripped the controller tightly. “You’re in front of your students, keep your cool, calm down, Utahime.” She reminds herself, letting out a scoff.
“We’ll see about that, start the damn game.”
The Tokyo and Kyoto students eye each other, already seeing what’s coming in the next few minutes. The Kyoto students huddle around Utahime and the Tokyo students do the same with their own teacher. The game started, and the two little characters spawned. Ibb is a small green character and Obb, a tall pink one accompanies the other.
“Eh?? Why did Utahime get the taller one??”
“Because I’m simply better than you.”
“Pft- you’re just tall in-game ‘cos you’re so tiny in real life!”
“Oi, Yuji, Todo is there a way to murder the other player in this game?”
“I’m afraid not, Iori-san…” Yuji mumbles apologetically.
“I mean you could play something else if you wanna kill each other-”
Utahime’s smirk widens, and the students around her feel a chill crawl up their spines seeing how the teacher’s mood suddenly switched.
“Let’s play that game instead.” She says. Todo reaches out to his side, pulling out other games that Gojo snatches.
“Nope! We’re already playing this game. We gotta finish what you started, Utahime!”
“I didn’t start shit, idiot!”
The two return to the game.
She starts walking around. It’s a flat world. The sky is painted in a yellow color that slowly fades to a bluish color. The two head teachers continue striding around the world, Gojo’s little green character jumps enthusiastically as they walk. They see a pink palm tree.
“Oh, oh, oh!! Do I break it down then grab the wood??” Gojo asks, all of his students shake their heads.
“I think that’s Minecraft…” Panda replies, Toge nods, right beside the cursed corpse. Utahime chuckles silently, mumbling something along the lines of stupid and something about a paintbrush look-a-like.
Their tiny characters continue waking and bump into the gap in the ground, white sparkes surround it, lucid particles moving around freely. “Is that some sort of portal?” Utahime asks, she gets nearer, jumping around it,
“I’ll probably die if I jump in there..”
but then runs into a sharp ball that looks like a sea urchin.
“Utahime-sensei no you’ll die!!”
“NO, DON’T TOUCH TH-”
All their students started yelling at her to not jump but it was too late. Her character suddenly turns into particles.
“I died??”
Gojo sticks out his tongue, “U-ta-hi-me died!! Hehe- OI WHY DID I DIE TOO???” He yelps as he also turns into particles.
“Ah… Well, you’re supposed to be helping each other actually… If Iori-san dies, you die too, and vice versa!! So this can’t really be a competition cause you’re supposed to be helping each other. Avoid those little spiky black things, they’ll kill you then you’ll go back to where you started. Then in the white sparkly bits jump in them!! They make you go upside down though!” Yuji explains, pointing to the things on the screen as he explains things.
“So this is a puzzle game or something??”
Everyone nods
“Okay, starting again!! Let’s go, and this time don’t die, Utahime!!”
She rolls her eyes, going back to the game and walking into the gap with the white particles. Just like Yuji said, she turned upside down. Her character walked on the roof. They somehow managed to coordinate in the first few levels, easily maneuvering through the gaps and solving the puzzles, not even having to communicate to know what the other was thinking. They get into the new level and immediately start getting frustrated.
“GOJO WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SO BAD AT THIS FUCKING GAME!?”
“IT ISN’T ME, IT’S THE CONTROLLER I SWEAR!!”
“YEAH AND I’M A SPECIAL GRADE CURSE, BULLSHIT I TELL YOU!!”
The two were stuck on a level. Utahime had to be quick enough to loop around from the underworld than to get back up to the surface and land on the pillar so she could boost Gojo up so he could reach the gap at the top since his character was too short to reach any of the other exits but he kept missing his jumps and instead of getting on Utahime so he could jump to the top, he’d fall to the ground instead and hit the spiky black that circled at the bottom, killing both of them in the process. Everyone’s patience in the room is starting to thin out, even Megumi (who usually didn’t care about the six-eyes user’s antics) was starting to get snappy and Miwa started to get frustrated as well.
“Gojo just hand the controller to someone else,” Megumi tells him but Gojo quickly rejects.
“I can do this just give me one more chance!!” The white-haired man tries to jump onto Utahime’s character, trying to reach up into the exit at the top but his attempt falls flat and so does his character. He falls into the black spiky object. Everyone collectively sighs.
“THAT’S WHAT YOU SAID 10 MINUTES AGO AS WELL!!” Nobara, Mai, Maki, Momo, Miwa, Yuji, and Todo screamed in unison.
Utahime jumps into the white portal, sending her into the upside down. She jumps continuously, making sure her momentum doesn’t falter. She dodges the spikes in the ground and gets up onto the pillar.
“QUICK GET ON ME, GET THE FUCK UP, GOJO!!”
“My, my Utahime~ do you really want me that bad?~”
“SHUT UP!!!” Everyone in the room pleads for the man to shut his mouth and finally get this level over with. He quickly tries to jump onto Utahime, finally making his way up onto her character and jumping onto the surface above. Everyone cheers, Utahime wraps her arms around Gojo smiling widely, finally finishing that level.
The two characters start walking to the next level but then Gojo’s character immediately drops to the ground below him, black spikes rushing towards him, killing him and Utahime. The two go back to where they were originally, having to start all over again. Everyone goes silent. Utahime's arms that were previously wrapped around Gojo loosened and moved to his white hair, she tugs on his hair and starts yelling.
"WE WERE SO CLOSE TO FINISHING YOU FUCKING BITCH!!"
