“Heya Ruggie, nice to see you!”
Epel said as she saw her girlfriend walk quickly over to her. She noticed a slight bounce in her step and one arm behind her back
“Hello Apple, I got something for ya, Happy Birthday darling!”
Ruggie smiled and held out a sloppy lump of wrapping paper, topped with a little ribbon bow.
“Awww, Rugs yer shouldn'ta.”
She exclaimed, red tinting her face at Ruggie’s thoughtfulness.
“Yeah yeah just open it already~”
She said, shoving it into her hands. They both sat down. Epel started at the paper, sticking the ribbon on Ruggie’s shirt, Ruggie’s laugh egging her on to giggle as well. She slowly ripped at the paper until she found a little box. When she opened it she found three hairpins. Two plain red ones and one with an apple on it.
“Ruggie I don’t- I really don’t know what to say.”
“Well, thanks for starters.”
Ruggie teasingly commented before kissing her lightly.
“But how much were they-“
“Doesn’t matter,” Ruggie scooped her into a hug, lightly kissing her forehead and attaching the apple clip to her hair, “Leona left her wallet unattended, and it suits you.”
Epel smiled brightly at her, looking fondly into her eyes, picking up one of the other clips and clipping back a few strands of her messy bangs.
“Now we match~”
Epel said giggling, kissing her nose lightly and lightly petting her ear.
“Apple, who gave you the right to be so goddamn adorable.”
“Who says I’m adorable?”
Epel said, lightly pouting. She didn’t completely like being called cute, however maybe Ruggie has always been an exception to these things.
“Sorry I kid I kid. You’re just so beautiful .”
“Says you.”
“You flatter me , darling .”
Ruggie slowly pocketed the paper that was on the floor, and grabbed the little box to put in her other pocket. She grabbed Epel by the waist and pressed her lips against hers.
“So, did you like it?”
“‘Course I did Rugg, what’d make you think otherwise.”
“Mmm nothing, just wanted to hear you say it.”
Ruggie picked her up lightly, Epel wrapping her legs around her waist, and kissed her, backing up against the wall and leaning on it.
“Shouldn't we be somewhere with less possibility of people seeing us?”
“Epel you’re gonna make me blush, we’re just kissing are we not?”
Ruggie said lightly teasing her, bringing a red tint to the tips of her ears
“Yes but if say Vil where to find us, or Rook-“
“You know what, maybe we should find a janitorial closet somewhere near here.”
“Hada feelin”
Epel hopped down and grabbed her hand, as they ran through the halls before quickly coming upon a closet door. Ruggie quickly opened the door and hoised Epel up as she closed the door, locking it behind them. She kissed her passionately as she felt her grabbing at the back of her head, hands lightly running through her hair. Of everything that had happened in her life, this was one of the best moments.
Epel moved one hand to turn on the light, and when she found the switch, Ruggie opened her eyes as their lips parted. Right then she felt Ruggie jolt as she lightly shouted.
“Apologies, am I interrupting something?”
Came a house behind Epel. She quickly jumped off of her girlfriend only to find Azul with Riddle clutched onto her arm, looking up at them slightly shocked.
“Oh hey, Riddle we’re cool right? So this would entail me not being beheaded.”
“We‘re so sorry this ain’t what it looks like.”
Riddle lightly shook her head as she spoke.
“You managed to stumble in at a convenient time, I’m not in the mood for beheadings.”
“But Azul will still use this against me surely.” Epel said looking down and eyes wandering towards Azul
“Let’s make a deal then. I don’t bring this up and you don’t bring this,” Azul motioned towards herself and Riddle, “up to anyone.”
“Fine but ya gotta believe me when I say this isn’t completely what it looks like,”
Epel noted, “we were just kissin nothing more.”
“Yeah it was just a little kiss for her birthday present.”
“Awww hair clips and kisses? You’re so sweet” Epel slightly leaned on her shoulder and played with her hair
“Oh yeah by the way, Happy Birthday Epel, I was going to swing by the party later and wish you well but I feel it best to do it right now.”
“Oh thank you Riddle-Senpai- SHIT THE PARTY”
Epel gasped as she shot up
“Lovely chat guys but I got to go.”
With that she bolted out of the door, leaving the three 2nd years in there, alone.
“Yeah this is really awkward, I'm going to head out too.”
Ruggie too got up and made to leave, before Azul stopped her
“Remember the deal, nothing leaves this room.”
“Same goes for you, see you two around, maybe.”
Ruggie shut the door behind her and made her way through the halls once more
Oh and Epel was on time
