“Have you seen the scary fight against that Villain on TV?” A young boy asked one of his classmates.
“Totally, but the newest Buddy cop took care of him with ease!” The other one grinned.
A young boy with green, curly hair listened to the conversations happening around him in his class, everyone excitedly talking about the newest cop that arrived on the scene. He rummaged through his backpack, pulling out a notebook, already filled to the brim with the young boy his writing.
He turned to one of the pages, a copy of some of his homework that told about the most important game in the world.
Buddyfight, a special card game that connects to multiple parallel universes, one that was filled with fantastical beings that ranged from fire-breathing dragons to highly advanced police officers. The world had to rapidly adjust to this sudden development, but they succeeded, creating a new system where both human and Buddy monster could coexist.
But like everything else that exists, there are people that search for ways to exploit this equilibrium. That’s why the Buddy Police had been created, to stop these evildoers from committing any crimes and putting others in danger.
“Please,” The greenette looked up to see a boy with ash-blonde hair propping his feet on his desk, his crimson eyes showing his arrogance. “I’m gonna be the best Buddy Cop there ever was. Some random extra wouldn’t be able to stand up to my strength!” He grinned. Izuku knew that voice all too well.
Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku’s former childhood friend. After a while, they both just… drifted apart, their ideals clashing far too much for them to be able to stay friends.
Katsuki wanted to follow the profession to show his strength, while Izuku endeavoured for this to help people.
“But Bakugo, you don’t have a Buddy.” One of the green-haired boy his classmates said, making Bakugo glare at him.
“Why you-“
“Alright kids, that’s enough.” Their teacher entered through their doorway, silencing the entire class. “Whatever it is, you can settle it after class.”
“Yes sir.” The entire class chorused.
Their teacher readjusted his papers before he continued. “Today, we’ll take a look at everyone their career choices. Make sure that you have finished your assignment at the end of the lesson.”
A few of the students handed the assignment to everyone else.
The moment he got his, Izuku immediately went to work, but he already knew what he wanted to be.
One day he, Izuku Midoriya, would become the best Buddy Cop in existence!
Humming a tune that was stuck in his head for a few days already, Izuku made his way out of his school.
“Maybe I’ll finally get a Buddy rare card today.” He muttered to himself, smiling at the thought of it.
Imagine it, Izuku Midoriya, the best cop that beat every bad guy out there with his awesome Buddy! He had to chuckle from it.
“P-please, leave me alone!”
The greenette immediately perked up from that, rushing to wherever the voice came from. After a little bit of running, he made it to a park and saw what was transpiring in front of his eyes.
A poor girl was being bullied by a few of Izuku his classmates. He rushed to her aid, standing between her and her tormentors, arms spread wide.
The one at the front, probably their leader, spoke up first. “Hey kid, the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“What you three are doing isn’t nice, so I’m protecting her!” He told them.
One of the other three boys laughed. “Protect her? Your legs are shaking, squirt. And you think you can play the hero?” He pointed to Izuku, who was shaking where he stood. The greenette stood firm, not moving from where he stood.
“If you don’t stop,” Shakily, the greenette took out his deck. “Then I’ll beat you in a Buddyfight!”
He mentally panicked. He never played before, and his first game is against a bully of all people?!
“Oh…” The leader grinned. “Then bring it on, ‘Buddy Cop’.”
Izuku gulped, but he was still determined to protect her.
He would never call himself a Buddy Cop after this if he backed down.
In a different world, where the tallest of buildings reached into the inky blackness of space, stood a man. The shadows hid most of his clothing, but you could still make out the cape and visor that he was wearing.
Arms crossed, the Buddy monster looked at the floating, sapphire-blue orbs in front of him, each showing a different child doing their day-to-day task, helping someone or just attending school.
“Still no one…” He grumbled to himself, swiping the image away of a young boy helping an elderly lady cross the street from one of the spheres.
He had been looking for a Buddy that fit his criteria, one with a burning heart of justice; but alas, there was no one here that he was drawn to.
“You’re finished!” Curious, the mysterious figure glanced at one of the orbs, showing a young boy with freckles and green hair engaging in a Buddyfight against someone else. “Fallen Angle of Rage, Beleth, finish the weakling off!”
“N-no!” An angle with brown wings, a blue beard and wearing red and yellow armor attacked with his iron spear, ending the two children their fight. The green-haired child fell to his knees, a defeated expression adorning his face.
“You lost kid, so scram!” His opponent commanded. The greenette still hadn’t responded to the demand, instead slowly getting up. “Hey, are you deaf? I said-“
“No…” The green-haired teen looked the other kid straight in the eye. “I won’t go. As long as there are people like you who bully others relentlessly, I won’t back down!” The three tormentors recoiled from the determination they felt radiating off the viridian teen.
That’s when the Buddy monster felt it. He smiled to himself, watching the three bullies going away while the green teen helped the poor girl up.
He had finally found his buddy.
The familiar sound of the automatic doors opening echoed through the building when Izuku entered, alerting the owner of said place.
A woman with silver hair looked up, her teal orbs meeting Izuku his emerald-green ones. “Welcome back, Izuku.” She calmly greeted him.
Izuku shyly waved back. One day, he will feel fully comfortable when speaking to a girl. “Good afternoon, Tokura.”
“Misa-Q!” A head of long, purplish red hair popped up from around the corner. “We need a few booster packs. Could you please get them?”
‘Misa-Q’ sighed. “Go get them yourself, Ren.”
“You’re no help, you know.” Ren whined, pouting. He then noticed Izuku. “Izu-zu, welcome!”
“H-hey!” The green-haired teen had to take a step back from the sudden breach of privacy.
“Ren, don’t act like that around our customers!” She scolded him.
They both held an impromptu staring contest, but the redhead quickly gave up.
“…Fine.” He pouted, turning to Izuku and this time not being in his face. “So, feeling lucky today? Maybe you’ll finally get a Buddy rare card!”
“I don’t know, Suzugamori…” The viridian teen sighed. “I’m not all that confident in it. I’ve never got anything above a double rare.”
“Ooh!” Ren pointed towards the television mounted on the wall, their conversation completely forgotten. “There’s a chase going on!”
Sighing once more, the silver-haired woman grabbed the TV from the counter remote to turn up the volume.
The screen showed a man wearing glasses in a helicopter. “This is MC Miya here, following a criminal fighter that stole some incredibly rare cards from the Buddyfight Museum!” The camera moved to show them a man flying on the back of a blue-skinned demon wearing armor. “The Buddy Police is already after him!”
Suzugamori squinted his eyes. “Why’s the criminal flying so low? Shouldn’t he take to the skies?” He asked to no one in particular.
Izuku shook his head. “There are also Buddy officers in the sky. Look.” True to his words, a few cops were flying in the air, either thanks to their Buddy Skill or by being on the back of their Buddy.
“More importantly,” Tokura said. “The criminal is flying close to other civilians, so they can’t attack him unless they want to put innocents in danger.”
Izuku frowned at that. Why can’t anything in life be simple?
Multiple cars were right behind the flying demon, sirens blaring.
A man with short, black hair and rectangular eyes sat behind the steering wheel of his police car, a frown on his face.
He grabbed his radio. “Officer Tsukauchi here, how is it going on your end?” He went to the left, narrowly avoiding a crate thrown by the criminal’s Buddy.
“Not good! There’s a parade going one here!” Noamasa cursed under his breath. Now his squad was the only one that could follow the thug.
He and the other officers went left, right, straight and then left, but-
“Damn it!” He stepped on the brake as hard as he could, just stopping in front of an alleyway. “Tsukauchi here, the criminal went through an alleyway! I repeat, the criminal-“ He paused, looking at one of his car’s mirrors.
“Officer, can you respond? What happened?” He heard over the radio.
Behind the group of cars, still a bit far away from them, was a motorcycle rapidly approaching them at high speeds. He noticed the shining badge, one fitting for a Buddy Cop, shining on the person their orange vest.
The driver steered to the left, using one of the knocked over planks conveniently placed on a pile of trash as a ramp to launch themselves over the group of police cars to continue the chase.
The officer still sitting in the car groaned. “She’s already been told multiple times that she can’t go on her own.”
The criminal grinned to himself. Today’s a good day. He got some sweet cash now and he managed to shake off those annoying Buddy Police officers.
“Hey,” His Buddy spoke up. “I don’t think you’ll like this, but look behind you.”
“What now?” Annoyed, the lawbreaker looked behind. “Darn, one of those cops still followed us!” The motorcyclist from before was hot on his trail, the helmet they were wearing hiding their face.
“Ugh. Demon, throw whatever passes by us to ‘em!” Nodding, his Buddy knocked over whatever item, crate, box and even by pure luck a car to their pursuers.
He watched on in shock as they easily weaved through the debris, quickly coming closer and closer to them.
The driver sighed, just wanting to get this over with.
Out of their pocket, a small star floated next to her, easily keeping up.
“You do know that you’ll get in trouble for this, right?” The voice, male from the sounds of it, said to the driver.
“I know, but I can’t just let this guy get away!” The driver, now properly identified as a female, responded to her Buddy. “Those are some incredibly rare and expensive cards.”
The star sighed. “Fine, but we’ll have to talk about you-“ He interrupted himself. “The criminal’s going faster!”
“Don’t worry, I can keep up.” She accelerated. “Let’s rev it up!”
She followed the thug at even higher speeds now, taking a sharp turn to the right and quickly entering one of the city its highways.
The criminal noticed her and ordered his monster to go even faster, the girl her vehicle was thankfully able to keep up.
She heard her earpiece crackle. “What are you doing?! That’s dangerous!”
“Officer Tsukauchi? I’m sorry, but there’s no way I’ll let him get away!”
“That’s not what I’m trying to say! This bridge is still under construction. Didn’t you see the warning signs?”
“…Oh.” So that was what the signs were saying when the criminal his Buddy were throwing them at her. “Officer, please listen. Deploy the Buddy Police barrier when I say it!”
If she had the authority, then she would have done it already.
“Ya-“ He stopped himself. “Alright, keep me on the line.”
The motorcyclist smiled behind her helmet. “Thank you.”
She pushed her vehicle to its limits, slowly but surely closing in on the criminal. Her heartbeat went up once she notice the end of the highway. She would fall to her death if she kept going.
“Almost…” She finally was close enough.
“Now! Deploy the Buddy Police barrier!”
“Got it.” She heard a few taps from Naomasa his side. “Deploying the barrier!”
An orange dome suddenly spawned around them, trapping her and the criminal in it. She had the satisfying view of her opponent crashing into the energy wall, bouncing them back to her.
“What the hell?! What is this?” He demanded, then noticing the girl also in the energy dome. “Oh great, we’re stuck here.”
She got off her motorcycle in one smooth motion. “This is a Buddy Police barrier. The only way you can leave is to either surrender,” She pulled out of one of her belt its pockets a ruby-red box with a black crystal in the middle of it. Upon closer inspection, you could see a stack of cards contained in it. “Or beat me in a Buddyfight.”
The criminal chuckled. “So it’s like that, huh?” He floated down with his buddy. “Alright then, bring it on!”
The female cop removed her helmet, revealing her onyx eyes with her black hair flowing in the wind. She pulled an orange hair tie out and tied her long hair up in a spiky ponytail.
“And there we have her!” Izuku heard Miya say from the television. “Japan’s youngest Buddy Cop, Momo Yaoyorozu, arrived on the scene and managed to trap the criminal fighter in a Buddy Police barrier!”
He heard Suzugamori whistle. “Sheesh, that girl’s really good at her job. Her parents must’ve pulled a lot of strings to get her there.” He said.
Midoriya nodded along. The Yaoyorozu family was famous for their incredible work as Buddy officers, so it was not surprising in the least when their daughter already managed to join them before she had the proper education to do so.
“One day, I’ll be there myself.” He softly said to himself.
“Wait, where’s my megaphone…” They saw Miya turn around to look for something.
“Momo, keep your guard up!” Her Buddy told her.
“Got it!” The star went into her Core Deck case, the crystal shimmering for a moment before it died down. Her opponent also pulled his own case out.
“Tearing anyone apart that gets in my way, showing I’m the boss around here! Luminize!” His Core Gadget was a large hammer. “Deadly Assault!” Six cards that had a soft, blue glow floated in front of him.
Momo took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and followed up.
“Soar through the heavens, warriors blessed by the shining stars! Luminize!” In a flash of light, her Core Deck case turned into a ruby, six-pointed star with the edges having blue crystals sticking out of them. “Sentinels of the Starry Skies!” Six glowing cards also appeared in front of her. Two cards, these ones being bigger than her hand cards, appeared on her left side.
“Are both of you ready?” Surprised, both cop and criminal turned to the owner’s voice, seeing the helicopter that Miya was in on the other side of the barrier. “Then, let’s Buddyfight!” They both put their attention back to their opponent.
“Raise the flag!”
“I fight for Danger World!” The demon behind the criminal jabbed a red flag with a yellow outline and a lion illustrated on it into the ground. “And my Buddy’s Armorknight Demon!” The Danger World monster roared, with Momo feeling the tremors from where she stood.
“And I fight for Star Dragon World!” Behind the young Yaoyorozu floated the picture of a cybernetic dragon with neon lights and circuitry running through it.
“I’ll take the first turn, copper.” Momo frowned at that, but still kept her composure. The criminal threw one of the cards in his hand to the bigger ones that floated on the side, increasing the total there to three. “I charge and draw!” He grabbed the holographic card that appeared from his case its crystal and added it to his hand.
The lawbreaker’s hand hovered in front of one of his hand cards, said card glowing a soft gold as he did so. “I call Armorknight Minotaur to the center!”
In the center position of the criminal his field appeared a magic circle with the Danger World flag in the middle of it before it shattered, revealing a crimson-furred minotaur in armor, a stone battle axe held in both its hands. “Gimme the word and I’ll smash her to pieces!”
The criminal grinned. “Go ahead! Attack the fighter!”
“With pleasure!” The Armorknight charged with a roar and swung his axe, but instead of any life-threatening injuries, a black and red grid appeared where Yaoyorozu was hit. Next to her, above her shoulder, appeared the number ten that went down by three points, stopping at seven.
The man laughed, satisfied with the attack. “It’s your move.”
Momo uncrossed her arms, eyes blazing with determination. “I shall make sure that you’ll be brought to justice. It’s my turn. I draw!” She added a card to her hand. “Charge and draw!” Her gauge also became three.
Her hand hovered in front of one of her cards. “Here goes, I call Rainbow Vision, Shadowscare to the left,” Her other hand grabbed another one, two of the cards in her gauge floating into it. “And I pay two gauge to call Demonblaze, Maxwell to the right!”
To her left materialised a black dragon with multi-colored circuitry running though it, while an orange dragon appeared on her right, both hands covered in atomic flames.
“Hey boss,” Maxwell pointed towards the Armorknight with its thumb. “Want me to take that dumb-looking animal out?”
Smiling, she nodded. “If it isn’t too much trouble.”
The Demonblaze monster grinned, turning to the Buddy Cop her opponent. “You see, when I appear on the field, I get to destroy a size two or lower monster. And look at that,” It charged up energy in its hands.
“Your Armorknight Minotaur fits the bill! Atomic Burn!” The orange neodragon fired a concentrated beam of fire towards the Danger World monster, incinerating it with ease.
The criminal gasped. “M-Minotaur!” He cried out the monster’s name.
“You should look out for yourself first.” Momo picked another card from her hand. “I also equip Photon Saber, Meteor!” The card shattered and reformed itself into a blade made of pale-blue light, two rings floating around the guard.
“Shadowscare, attack the fighter!” Momo ordered the black neodragon.
“Yes ma’am…” The Rainbow Vision monster charged, its claws coated in electricity. “Vision Nailer!” The attack hit, electrocuting her opponent and reducing his life points to seven.
Maxwell sent an orb of fire towards the criminal. “Don’t forget about me!” This one also hit the mark, the man stumbling back from the force behind it.
Momo charged, her hand cards moving out of the way. “And now it’s my turn!” Yaoyorozu was in front of the Danger World user, thrusting her blade forward. “Photon Saber, Meteor!”
“Oh no, you don’t!” Her opponent held one of his hand cards in front of himself. “I cast Battle Aura Circle!” A wall of crimson fire appeared between the two Buddyfighters, forcing the Star Dragon World user to jump back.
“I end my turn.” She sheathed her sword, her hand cards floating back in front of her.
The crystal of her Core Gadget glowed. “Be careful. It looks like he’ll unleash his full strength next turn.”
“Don’t worry,” She turned to the Cora Gadget where her Buddy resided in, a small smile gracing her lips. “I got this.”
“Hey, don’t stare off into space while you’re fighting me!” Her opponent yelled, clearly annoyed. “It’s my turn!” He drew a card and then he did his charge and draw, smiling once he saw the card he drew.
“Here it comes!” Her Buddy warned her.
“I call Armorknight Eagle to the center!” A large, white eagle equipped with many firearms appeared.
The monster shivered. “Why do I have a bad feeling about this?”
“Then I pay two gauge and destroy Eagle to Buddy call Armorknight Demon to the center!” The blue-skinned demon jumped, using his cannons to take fire on the poor avian.
“I knew it!” The poor creature cried before it was destroyed, shattering into shards of orange light.
“I gain an extra life thanks to my Buddy Gift.” The number next to him glowed green before it went up to six. “And I call Bluechase Dragon, Garg to the right!” Next to Demon appeared a small, blue dragon with sharp teeth.
“Next up, I cast!” He threw a blade of pure, crimson energy towards Rainbow Vision, Shadowscare. “Crimson Slash!”
The spell cleaved the black neodragon in half with ease. “Win this for us, milady.” The black neodragon muttered before it exploded.
“Shadowscare!” The young Yaoyorozu cried out.
“Didn’t you say that you had to worry about yourself first?” He mocked her. “Garg, attack the cop!” Crossing her arms, Momo managed to endure the attack, decreasing her live to six and making her opponent grin.
“Demon, you too!”
The size three Armorknight monster charges its weapons before it unleashed a powerful blast of purple energy, hitting the young Yaoyorozu head on. She fell backwards, a pained groan escaping her lips as her life went down to three.
“And don’t forget about my Buddy his Double Attack!” Momo gasped, watching as the demon charged another shot before sending it her way.
“I cast!” She raised her hand, a triangular shield with a star on it blocking the attack. “Proto Barrier!” A small star went from the shield to her gauge, increasing the total there to two.
“What?!” The criminal his mouth hung open from shock. “But that was supposed to finish you off!”
Momo stood up, dusting herself off, and gave him a confident grin. “Sorry, but I’m not the average Buddyfighter.” Her eyes were burning with determination. “It’s my move. I draw!” Drawing a card from her deck, she picked another one from among them.
“Charge and draw!”
The onyx-eyes girl looked through the four cards in her hand. She smiled, a strategy already forming in her mind.
“Come on out, Dragonarms, Cavalier!” On the left, where the Rainbow Vision monster first was, appeared in a flash of light a green robot equipped with two lances. “Cavalier, Crossnize with Maxwell!”
“Wait, you what?!”
Cavalier glowed before its body disappeared, the lances being the only two things that remained.
“DRAGONARMS: LOADING.”
They moved towards the blazing neodragon, who held his arms out, electricity crackling between the two monsters.
“ROLL SHIFT: CAVALIER MODE.”
They attached themselves to Maxwell his arms, energy flowing through the Star Dragon World monster.
“LOAD: FINISHED.”
Letting out a battle cry, Maxwell swung the two new weapons in front of him, the blades humming with energy. “Demonblaze, Cavalier Blade!”
“W-wait!” Her opponent stammered. “Did you just combine them?!”
Momo wanted to chuckle at the sight of his surpised face, but she had to stay professional while she was on the job. “This is Star Dragon World’s Crossnize, the power that allows different monsters to work together!” She grabbed another card from her hand. “And I cast Electric Source, giving me another gauge!”
“Alright Maxwell, take Demon out!”
“Got it boss!” The blazing neodragon charged, weaving itself through the energy beams that Armorknight Demon fired to try and keep it at bay, but Maxwell could not keep up.
“Are you stupid? Demon’s defence is eight thousand while your Maxwell his power is six thousand!” He smirked. “Did you seriously make such a beginner mistake?”
“I was prepared for that.” With a confident smile, the Buddy Cop picked a card from her hand. “I cast Speculight Ring! Maxwell gains another three thousand power!”
“What?!”
A multi-colored aura surrounded the Crossnized neodragon, the monster powering up in front of their eyes. With one swift slash, the Demonblaze his opponent was destroyed.
The Star Dragon World monster turned to face Momo’s opponent. “And you’re next! Penetrate!” Blade held in front of him and charged.
Too stunned, the criminal screamed from surprise as he also took damage. “But how?! Maxwell doesn’t have the Penetrate ability!”
“He does when he’s Crossnized with Cavalier!” Blade in both her hands, Momo swung at her opponent, reducing his life points to one.
Recovered from the attack, the Danger World user chuckled. “Looks like you couldn’t finish me off.” He reached for his deck, but stopped when he saw Momo smile. “What? You’re about to lose, ya know.”
The raven-haired girl shook her head, amused. “You do know what happens after the battle phase, right?” She held up one of her hand cards.
Which turned… horizontal.
“N-no! You can’t!”
“Final phase!” She held the glowing card above her, the light intensifying with the second. The world distorted around them, the environment turning into a galaxy filled with stars and planets. “When I have an item with the Weapon attribute equipped and I have no monster in my center, I can pay four gauge to cast this card!”
The planets surrounding them aligned until they made a perfect line. “Light of the stars, become a shining blade that eradicates all evil in the universe!” Her hair band flew off, letting her long hair billow in the wind. “Impact!”
She raised her sword to the sky, the light of the planets and stars surrounding them closing her and covering her and her item card in a layer of astral energy.
“P-please, I don’t want to-“
“Photon Edge Universe!” She swung her sword down, a massive wave of light following it and completely overpowering her opponent. The criminal’s Core Gadget cracked before it shattered, his cards falling to the ground.
The criminal his flag glowed momentarily, then shattered into a thousand pieces.
“GAME OVER. WINNER: MOMO YAOYOROZU.”
Izuku kept his eyes on the television, watching the criminal finally being arrested by the reinforcements that came after Yaoyorozu had finished him off.
“Wow.” Izuku looked on in awe. “That was awesome.”
“She kicked her butt!” Ren cheered next to him.
Tokura watched the redhead, amusement clear on her face, before she put her attention back to Izuku. “So, do you still want to buy a booster pack?”
Izuku nodded enthusiastically. “Yes please!”
After he purchased what he wanted, and bidding the two shop workers goodbye, the green-haired boy made his way back home while he was enjoying the evening air.
He stopped underneath a bridge and looked at his booster pack, longing in his eyes. Contemplating about it, Izuku couldn’t decide if he wanted to open it right there or wait and do it at home.
But after he saw that fight in television, where he saw officer Yaoyorozu take down the criminal fighter, he could not help himself but open the pack right there.
“Huh?” He picked one of the cards from among them. “I don’t think I’ve seen this one before…”
The card suddenly glowed, making Midoriya yelp and let it go, but it stayed suspended in the air. Wind gathered around it as the light intensified, Izuku covering his eyes to not be blinded by it.
“W-what’s going on?!” He had to brace himself for the strong winds that the card created out of nowhere, almost being blown away by the power behind it.
After what felt like an eternity, Izuku could finally open his eyes, only to gasp at the person standing in front of him. “Y-you’re-“
Standing in front of him was a man in a white superhero suit with a cape. What were the mysterious newcomer his most striking features however, were the orange visor and the letter A on numerous parts on his outfit.
“C-Captain Answer?!” He stuttered.
Boisterous laughter escaped from the superhero his mouth. “You’re almost right young man! I’m his successor, the ‘2nd Generation?! Captain Answer’!” He put his hands to his hips, puffing his chest out in pride.
“I guess that makes sense.” Izuku put his hand to his chin in thought. The original Captain Answer retired five years ago, so he must’ve been training someone to take his is role over. Then it finally clicked. “Wait, if you’re here, then doesn’t that mean..?”
“That I am your buddy!” If the Buddy monster wasn’t wearing a mask, then Izuku could’ve seen him smile. The greenette stared at him with an unreadable expression.
And then he fainted.
Momo watched the criminal fighter being taken away, she herself leaning against her motorcycle while she was drinking from her water bottle.
“Why does my hair always have to go loose when I use that impact card.” Huffing, she grabbed another hair tie from one of her pockets to tie her black hair back to a ponytail.
“You know what happens when you do this, right?” The star left her deck, a small, green dragon wearing golden armor with an energy knife mounted on his head materializing taking its place front of her.
“I know Jack, but I couldn’t just sit still and do nothing.” She sighed.
“Your parents worry about you.” Jackknife told her. “During your next school year, you can finally graduate and properly take part in cases like this. Speaking of your parents.” He nudged his head to two adults quickly approaching them.
Her mother, a woman with her eyes but dark blue hair, kneeled in front of her, checking her for any injuries. “Momo, are you alright?” She gently touched her daughter’s face.
“I’m fine mom, really.” The young Yaoyorozu gave her a smile. She noticed her father in the corner of her vision.
“Momo, what you did there was against the agreement you made before joining the Buddy Police.” Her father spoke up, making Momo flinch from the harsh tone in his voice. “You know that you can only partake in cases like these when your under another officer’s supervision.”
“I-“ The raven-haired girl nodded. “I know, dad.”
“But,” She looked up, seeing her father smile. “You did great. No wonder you’re so popular with the kids.”
“Then that means that your man needs to be just as good.” Her mother teased.
“M-mom!” Momo blushed. “You can’t just decide who I want to date!”
“She’s right, miss Yaoyorozu.” Her Buddy spoke up, but she didn’t like the mischievous glint in his eyes. “Instead of you two, allow me to judge her future husband.”
Momo buried her heavily blushing face in her hands, ignoring of her family and Buddy their laughter.
