Dear Ms. Dupain-Cheng,
Thank you for submitting an application to the Gabriel brand's "Miraculous Summer" internship program. There were many participants in this year's selection. After reviewing your application, portfolio, letters of recommendation and interview, you are hereby invited to partake in the internship program. Alongside this letter you will find further information regarding the internship, what it will entail and the expectations.
To confirm or deny that you will accept the internship, please respond via email to aroux @gabriel.mode.fr
Upon accepting, you will receive the necessary paperwork that is required to complete your registration and begin the preparations. Only then will you be sent further instructions.

Rules and Expectations of Interns at Gabriel
- Maintain a respectful and professional appearance when working. This includes, but is not limited to: the Gabriel office, meetings, formal and informal parties, reunions, and other places requiring your assistance.
- It is prohibited from sharing information about Gabriel designs, upcoming lines, photoshoots, commercials, etc. If found sharing this information with the public, this will result in your termination, and you will be banned from applying for any positions at Gabriel, any of its current branch offices, future offices, entities, and its partners.
- Any suggestions and/or complaints regarding the way Gabriel is managed must be sent to Mr. Agreste’s assistant, Nathalie Sanceour, and we will take it into consideration. However, we will also consider your role at Gabriel as an intern, and whether this feedback affects your asset to the company in any way.
- Company meetings, photoshoots, premieres, shows, and promotional events may only be attended by those on the guest list, current employees, and interns. No person or persons may be invited to a Gabriel meeting or event without pre-approval from Mr. Agreste himself. Infractions of this rule will count against you, and will result in immediate termination.
- Harassment of current Gabriel employees, whether physical, sexual, or verbal, is prohibited. Reports of harassment are taken very seriously at Gabriel, and if found guilty of any and all reported acts of harassment, you will be blacklisted, immediately terminated, and depending on the nature of the crime, reported to the police.
Marinette hadn't quite believed it when she read the letter. Sure, the list of rules was long, but what were the chances that she was the aspiring designer chosen for the prestigious Miraculous Summer internship program?
It was the most competitive fashion internship in Paris. To be able to add that she interned for Gabriel Agreste under the program would make her résume stand out more than it already did. She wasn't one to brag, but she was one of Jagged Stone's designers for his album covets, as well as the designer for local band, Kitty Section.
But she hadn't submitted any of those designs and she hadn't mentioned either connection in her application. She had wanted to earn the internship on her own merit, without the celebrity ties as a crutch. Instead, she asked for recommendations from teachers that had known her since collège and the beginning of lycée. She wasn't sure how those recommendations helped her, but maybe it was a combination of everything in her application?
In any case she had done it. She was going to spend the summer interning at Gabriel .
What if she ran into–
Of course she'd see him! He is the face of the brand after all. What if she got the chance to–
"So you're going to finally get a chance to sneak away and kiss Sunshine, aren't you?"
"Sur– What?!" she exclaimed. Alya's voice broke through her thoughts.
"K– Kiss A– Adrien ?!"
"It says here that you're moving in with him," said Alya, pointing to the page where the rules and expectations were.
"What?!" Taking the paper from her best friend, Marinette looked at the bullet point on the list:
- It is required that you move into the Agreste residence for the duration of your internship at Gabriel.
No. Nope. Nope. There was no way she was moving into Adrien’s house. Why?!
Why did she need to move in? How did that benefit her?!
"This is a disaster! This is going to be a disaster! I'm turning the offer down, Alya. I can't–"
"Marinette–"
"There's no way! What if I make a fool of myself!"
"Mari–"
"Mar–"
Knock. Knock.
Marinette fell back on the couch, the paper flying in the air. "Aaahhh!"
Alya got up to answer the door…
