One of the things Eddie was excited to do once Little Lucy got old enough was to teach her how to swim. So when he came home from work with an little inflatable blue pool the first thing he did was set it up in your yard, he didn’t even go inside after work just got straight into setting up the little pool and you only knew he was home because you stepped outside, hand over your eyes to see Eddie in the front yard sweating his ass off in the summer heat.
“Eds you should have at least changed” you tell him looking at his jeans and work shirt just knowing he’s probably gonna end up in the little pool with Lucy.
He stands to his full height before hurriedly going to grab the hose and throw it in the pool before turning the tap on high.
“It’ll be full before tomorrow angel!” He tells you running over to the porch, you let out a little laugh at how excited he was.
“I’m sure it will Eds, it’s not a very large pool”
The two of you walk into the trailer to see Lucy sitting on the floor, when she hears the door shut she whips her head towards the two of you as she stands on her wobbly chunky little legs before running to Eddie hugging his legs.
“Dada” she babbles happily as she looks up to Eddie knowing full well he’ll scoop her up into his arms when she pulls out her cute little puppy dog eyes and that he does.
He gently scoops Lucy up peppering kisses all along her face as she giggles.
The next day after Eddie had to get up in the middle of the night to turn the water hose off because he forgot it on, he walks out the door with Lucille on his hip in her little one piece.
Her cute little swimsuits with a baby pink ruffle around the waist and legs, both you and Eddie found the swimsuit absolutely adorable and when it was paired with her little brown curls had both of you melting at her cuteness especially when she’d giggle from the way you two would coo at her.
You watched fondly as Eddie walked over to the pool getting in the pool that barely reached mid thigh so Lucy who was sat on his hip hadn’t touched the cool water yet.
You stood next to the pool watching as he smiled happily babbling right back to her as if he could understand every word of nonsense she ever said.
Honestly you couldn’t have ever asked for anyone better to be Lucille’s dad, he was all you ever wanted or needed in a parson. He was kind, loving and oh so understanding always trying to help even if he wasn’t sure what the issue was.
You’re snapped from your little day dream as you hear a few cute little squeals of delight come from Lucy.
You glance over to see the two of them both smiling like nothing else matters Lucy’s little legs kicking happily as Eddie lowers her slowly into the water her tiny toes barely touching the cool water.
You watch cautiously as Eddie puts her into the water fully smiling happily when he sees her legs kicking in the water.
Though quickly the two of you realize she much rathered that Eddie put a sprinkler on in the yard and chase her through the sprinkler.
Though similarly they hate sunscreen. When two hours in you call your loves to come and let you put sunscreen on them Eddie scoops Lucy up and takes off with her in his arms laughing wildly as he runs to hide behind a tree.
“Eddie Munson!” You tell holding back your laugh, “you and Lucy better get back here and let me put sunscreen on you!”
He runs back with a laughing Lucille in his arms and both of you are sure to savor the moment knowing just how fast she’ll continue to grow.
