Tommy is a weak man. Especially when it comes to animals. That should be common knowledge. To bad it’s not.

Tommy had been walking around town on his way home when he heard meowing. Now he his mission was to pet the cat that was meowing instead of going home.
He walked into the alleyway the sound seemed to be coming from and looked around. Look, he knows he doesn’t have great self-preservation instincts, you don’t need to tell him. He finds a cardboard box with four kittens inside of it.
He blinks and looks at the side of the box, ‘Take one!’, and just like some kids do on Halloween, instead of doing what the words say he picks up the whole box and heads home.
Walking into his house he realizes that, he’s 19 years old and no he doesn’t know how to take care of cats, but dammit he’s going to try. He takes them to his room and sets the box on his floor.
Heading back into his kitchen to get a plate and a small bowl, he puts canned tuna and milk in the respective porcelain and takes them upstairs. He sits on the floor and puts the bowl and plate on the floor before he takes the kittens out of the box.
They immediately flock to the food and milk, making a mess that he knows he’ll have to clean later. He watches them quietly for a bit before his phone goes off with a discord call. He looks at his phone and smiles. ‘Wilby’ is calling you.
He answers, “Tommy I’m live if you didn’t know, Techno and Phil are here too.” he hears a quiet ‘Hey mate.’ and ‘Hey Treasure’ causing him to smile. “Hey you three and no I didn’t know you were live, I just got back from a walk.”
He smiles as the kittens seem to have finished eating and saw that he was there. They start trying to climb him, one meows loudly. “Oh? What was that?” Wilbur asks in surprise.
Tommy laughs, “Well I said I just got back from a walk right? I may have found a box of kittens on the way home.” Wilbur ‘awe’s’ and asks him to turn on his camera, which he does the stream being pulled up as well which he mutes.
His camera is on Wilbur’s stream and he puts his phone in a spot that him and the kittens can be seen. Chat goes crazy at the sight of four kittens climbing on Tommy. He smiles and waved to the camera.
“I call dibs on the white one, his name is now Steve.” Techno says once he sees the kittens. Tommy laughs as Wilbur smacks his shoulder gently. “Alright, you two wanna pick one as your own too?”
Wilbur nods and Phil motions for Wil to go first. “I want the brown one, his name’ll be Chekhov.” Wilbur states proudly. Techno snorts muttering a quiet ‘Of course’ which gets another hit from Wilbur.
Tommy smiles, and tilts his head waiting. “I want the pure black one. I’ll call ‘em Chat.” Phil says smiling. Chat goes crazy at the names. Tommy laughs again. “Alright then, guess that means you’re mine. I’ll call you… Mellohi.” He says smiling as he picks up a black kitten with white on its muzzle and chest.
Chat loves it and the kittens are trending almost immediately on Twitter. Tommy picks up the kittens and takes them to the bathroom, coming back to get the phone, which he props up on the counter.
He shuts the door and mutes his mic before turning on the water. Once the tub has a decent amount of water in it he shuts it off and unmutes. He gives the kittens a bath, they all hate it and show their distaste by screaming at him in cat.
Once he’s done and has them all dry he picks them up and grabs his phone going to his bed. “I’m gonna get off here and get somethings for the four of them. Bye you three! Bye Chat!” Tommy says getting goodbyes from the three and Chat spamming ‘no!’s and ‘byes’. He leaves the call.
The next day he takes them to the vet then a pet store, he gets all the necessities and gets them collars in the colors that were asked and gets name tags for them as well.
He takes a picture of them later and posts it to Twitter the caption being “Think I’m doing good for a new pet owner”, Twitter goes crazy.
He doesn’t tell anyone he spent hours reading websites to figure out how to take care of kittens, or that he had to have the vet sit down and explain things to him, or that he had to ask multiple questions when he was at the pet store.
Nobody needs to know about that.
