Work Text:
Maddy, Sara, Kendra and Ray were left behind in 1952. They didn't know why but the rest of the team had suddenly taken off without them on board. Maddy and Sara had left Kendra and Ray a week ago and Maddy was totally lost. She was brought out of her thoughts when she glanced over her sholder and saw a sketchy looking man following her.
"A movie theatre has lots of people.", Maddy thought as she changed directions towards the theatre.
Maddy was to focused on her task that she crashed into a lady in frount of her. Luckily, the lady somehow seemed to be aware of Maddy's situation and stepped in frount of her when the man following Maddy approached.
"Thank you for finding my daughter.", the man said, with an forced smile, glaring at the woman.
"It's pretty obvious that she's not your daughter and that you're making her very uncomfortable so back off.", the woman retorted.
"Thank you.", Maddy said once the man was out of earshot.
"Don't mention it. I'm Nora. Nora Darhk.".
"Maddy.".
"Wait.", Maddy thought, "Didn't Ollie kill her dad?".
"So what are you doing all alone out here?".
"My family abandoned me.", Maddy replied, saying a twisted truth.
"Oh. I'm sorry. Do you want to live with me? I can't imagine finding a home as a child is particularly easy.".
"Sure.".
It took a while to get used to but during her 2 year stay, Maddy became quite fond of Nora and vice versa. Unfortunately, Maddy had to leave Nora behind during one walk in the park.
"Maddy?!", called Kendra, running up to her in the park, "Wait!".
"You need to come with us.", Ray said.
"What?", Maddy asked, "Why?".
"Rip's back!", Ray explained in his usually chirpy voice.
"Oh.", Maddy sighed.
"I guess this is goodbye for now.", Nora said, hugging Maddy tight. Maddy and Nora wouldn't be reunited for a very long time.
