Chapter Text
It's clear the second she steps inside her apartment, something's not right.
Someone is in her home.
Thankfully, she is more than prepared for things like this. A few taps on her phone has Friday alerted about the situation, and she's talking on her phone again, just like the unsuspecting little girl the intruder thinks her to be.
"I don't know Jay, you know I only deal with cases that have to do with my family now."
It's a losing battle and they both know it; it's just a matter of when Vicky will cave in, the overwhelming need to help others she got from her dad, winning over her better judgement.
"Look, I'll call you back, okay? There's someone I have to take care of real quick."
After Jason says his reluctant goodbyes, she finally goes into her living room, now free to deal with the woman who had made herself at home on her couch. She hasn't actually met the person in her home right now, hasn't met any of the old avengers, if she's honest, and perhaps that is for the best. It wasn't her choice, of course. Way back when, before the whole clusterfuck of the so-called civil war, her dad always said that it wasn't the right time yet for her to meet his coworkers; plus it's not like many people knew about her existence at that point in time. By the time the scarlet witch had joined the team and her dad retired, she was already with her mom trying to learn how exactly to use her powers, and only got back after her father had already been found in that cave in Siberia.
Now, if there's one thing that she is proud of herself for, it's that she always has a plan. No matter what, even if it's just a simple outing with her friend, she always thinks ahead, calculates the best route, the best time to be at a certain place, the best time to get home. It's always been like that, and it always will be. If there's one thing her friends and family can agree on, is that she takes time to think things over, and that she never acts out of anger.
The incident in Siberia was a very, very close thing.
After just a glance at the state her father was left in, she was ready to track down Rogers and make him feel every blow he had dealt her dad and more. It took Miss Potts, Uncle Rhodey and a panicking/ lowkey fangirling Peter Parker to hold her back from doing just that, but in the end they reach an agreement. She will track the rouges down, just to know where they are. She won't go and kill each one of them, the little kitty cat who decided to house them included. She gets however, first hit rights if they ever decide to step foot near any of their family members again.
Which takes her right back to the situation she has on her hands right now. Natasha Romanoff. On her fucking couch. The fucking nerve these people have. No matter, she supposes, if the spy annoys her too much, Vicky has absolute freedom to deal with her however she likes.
"Little Stark! It's great to finally meet you" the faux sweetness dripping from her words disgusts Victoria, but they do not surprise her. She made sure to know every little detail, even the minuscule ones, about her enemies, and the rogues have been her number ones for a while now. "I thought it was time I finally get to know the daughter of Tony Stark, don't you?"
"Miss Romanoff. What a pleasure to see you. " The lie comes easy, the spell to immobilize the red head even easier. She doesn't even have to speak to do it; her mother had made sure that she could cast spells with just a simple thought and enough intent.
It's easy in the end, disappointingly so. Natasha's head hits the floor before she can even realize she can't move her limbs anymore, ready to be taken to the compound to be questioned by the sword agents already waiting there.
Lord only knows who she'll throw under the bus to save herself, but Vicky supposes they should at least be able to use her to appease the UN for a little while.
