kiss me if you can.

Summary:

“i know you two kissed.” chanhee blurts out.

sunwoo’s eyes widened and immediately turns to changmin.

“i didn’t tell him!” changmin panics.

“ah… so you’re not denying it?” chanhee teases. crap. changmin was busted.

Notes:

for the sake of plot purposes, every tbz member + hyunjun are the same age!! :)

also this is the longest fic i've ever written... enjoy! <3

Work Text:

ji changmin was the smartest student in his grade level, often times acing every exam, getting consistent high grades his whole high school life. a lot of students admired him, he was the perfect page after all. tall, handsome, smart… but he was a bit quiet. he only interacted with his friends and teachers. the only time he would be talking to his classmates was when they needed to do something academically related.

his friends were chanhee, younghoon, and hyunjae. the four of them were also liked by a lot of students, they were indeed the perfect package. despite changmin’s popularity, he never even used it. sometimes it even annoys him that he can’t talk to someone without them treating him like he’s a celebrity. he was still a student just like them.

kim sunwoo was an average student. he was in a different section than changmin and he always admired him. he didn’t view him as a celebrity, but he did like him. he always thought he was amazing for maintaining grades that high for years. he wasn’t failing or anything, he was just average. the classmate that was just… there. he would also just interact with his friend group. his friends were hyunjun, eric, and haknyeon.

they were graduating next week, it was time for them to finally be an adult. sunwoo was nervous to go to college. he was a nineteen-year-old going to live in a shared dorm. he wasn’t fortunate enough to have a friend as his dorm mate as he was late with finding dorms. all the adulting stuff was overwhelming him, he was the youngest child with busy parents, and he had to figure out stuff on his own. his older sister was already working, but they often keep in contact. he would sometimes ask her about adulting but there was still a lot to figure out on his own.

sunwoo was going to take computer engineering as his course, he enjoyed coding and plans to be a game developer. his friends were taking different courses too. hyunjun went with performing arts, haknyeon went to culinary arts, and eric went with political science. they were all pursuing different paths in life, but in the same university, so the group was still together.

after two weeks, they finally graduated and it was time to move into their respective dorms. sunwoo was nervous, he doesn’t have any idea who he is. the building provided no information at all, he just hopes they can get along. it would be such a hassle if he had to find another dorm.

he arrived first at their shared dorm, he went ahead on fixing his side of the dorm. as he was hanging his clothes, he heard the door being opened, that’s probably his roommate.

“you’re not chanhee.” changmin says. sunwoo’s eyes widened. his roommate is changmin…?

“ah… no. i’m not. the resident assistant assigned me to this dorm.” sunwoo said, trying to sound as casual as possible.

“room 1206?” changmin asks.

sunwoo pulls out his keys, “yep. room 1206.”

“i see. i was under the impression that i would be roomming with my friend, my apologies.”

“it’s okay. maybe the resident assistant mixed up the roommates.”

“seems like it. sorry for that ugly first impression. let’s start over. i’m ji changmin.” changmin and extends his hand.

sunwoo shakes and hand, “kim sunwoo. i went to high school with you.”

“oh? i knew you looked familiar.”

sunwoo wanted to scream, changmin recognized him? oh my!

“ah. i’m flattered. i’m taking computer engineering, how about you?” sunwoo can’t believe he’s talking to his crush of 2 years.

“majoring in anatomy. i’m taking it as my pre-med course.”

“oh? you’re taking med? that’s so cool. seems like we will have a lot of sleepless nights.”

“seems like it. i’ll fix my side of the dorm.”

sunwoo nodded and proceeded to continue fixing his desk. it was very important to him to have a desk as his major required a lot of coding.

“you want to meet my friends later?” changmin says out of the blue.

sunwoo was a bit shocked, he never interacted with changmin directly before. he always thought he was cold with people.

“sure. i’ll let you meet my friends too, soon. they might be familiar faces as we all went to high school together.”

“i see. you think you can get ready in an hour?”

“sure.” sunwoo doesn’t know how to act, he definitely knows who his friends are but he doesn’t really know them personally. time to ask his friends for help.

to: hundred acre wood

guess who’s my roommate

erigi

your ex?

hakkie

dumbass he doesn't have an ex

hyunjunie

yeah, he was too busy crushing on ji changmin to even look at others

well the universe decided to play a joke on me

erigi

why? is your roommate changmin?

hakkie

that would be so funny

… eric is right. he is my roommate

hyunjunie

really?!

hakkie

LMAOOO good luck with your feelings then!

i only admire him as a person. i don’t like him that way

erigi

well that’s my mother’s famous last words before she dated my father

i’m gonna meet his friends later

hakkie

act natural

i am natural! i’m not freaking out or anything. he was just more… kind?

hyunjunie

of course he’s kind. it’s the students who made him feel weird. he seems like a pretty chill dude who just happens to be the smartest in our level

erigi

yeah i agree. he was always chill, just more on the introverted side

i see. well wish me luck, i’ll go get ready now. you’re meeting him soon too

sunwoo saw that changmin was getting ready in the bathroom, so he grabbed some of his clothes and got ready. he needed to look a bit presentable.

once changmin was out of the bathroom, sunwoo was already ready to go out. changmin was wearing a white shirt and jeans, but he looked so attractive in sunwoo’s eyes.

“ready to go?”

“yep. where will we meet your friends?”

“we wanted to try the café near. is that okay for you?”

“of course. lead the way.” sunwoo can’t believe what was happening right now. if you told him two weeks ago that he would be rooming with his crush and on his way to meet his friends, he would have laughed and not believe it. but here he is. following changmin to the café, even though he doesn’t drink coffee. he just hopes they serve an alternative.

“we’re here. they’re already there. i’ll introduce you.”

“heeey!” younghoon greets.

“hi guys. he’s my roommate.”

“hi everyone.” sunwoo greets politely.

“you look familiar.” chanhee comments.

“he went to high school with us. i know his friend.” hyunjae says.

“don’t scare him, guys. sunwoo, meet my friends. chanhee, he’s majoring in accounting. hyunjae, majoring in business management. younghoon, majoring in marine biology.”

sunwoo was still a little bit shocked at how casual changmin was. he really was just a chill dude.

and then sunwoo hears his ringtone. (for the sake of the readers, his dream starts with the line of he arrived into their shared dorm)

“holy shit. that was all just a dream?” he says to himself. that seemed all too real. was he this down bad for changmin?

“that was quite the dream!” hyunjun says.

“what the fuck are you doing here?”

“we were supposed to meet an hour ago. as the kind loving friend that i am, i went here to make sure you’re still alive. come on, today is moving day!” hyunjun says, rushing sunwoo.

sunwoo was confused. why was his dream so real? he even got the details right.

“are you going to move out or not?” hyunjun asks.

“let me take a shower, geez! i already packed everything!” sunwoo defends.

sunwoo rushed to the bathroom to take a cold shower. he knows he likes changmin but this is the first time he dreamed about him. he thinks he is just subconsciously thinking about him as they most likely will never see each other again, and this will most likely remain as a high school crush.

“dude, don’t take forever! you want to be the one who arrives first!” hyunjun rushes him.

“okay okay!” sunwoo says, he doesn’t have any idea on who his roommate is. he just really hopes they get along. it would be such a hassle to live with someone unpleasant and to move dorms once university starts.

a few moments after, he was finally in hyunjun’s car ready to move out. he’s excited to have freedom in college.

“got everything ready?”

“yeah, let’s go to the dorm!” sunwoo excitedly says. only he and hyunjun are dorming. eric and haknyeon decided to rent out a shared condo. he definitely knows something is up with those two. it’s just a matter of time before they announce their relationship.

“what’s your dorm number?” hyunjun asks.

“oh uhm… i don’t know.” sunwoo admits shyly.

“check your keys. it’s there.”

sunwoo goes to check his backpack, he reaches for the key that was given to him by his resident assistant, and he pulled out the key.

“1206.” he answers. that number is oddly familiar.

“bummer. im in 1026.”

“you have an idea on who your roommate is?”

“only a bit. i just know he’s majoring in accounting.”

“i don’t even know mine. i just hope we get along.”

“i hope mine won’t mind me memorizing lines for my future projects.”

“you think there’s a chance we could negotiate and become roommates?”

“i don’t think so. that’s such a hassle for our and their part.”

“you have a point. hope mine isn’t like a clean freak or something.”

“yep, we’re here.”

sunwoo and hyunjun began to move their belongings to their own dorms. fortunately, they were the first ones to arrive. he began to unpack and decorate his side of the dorm. it’s quite big for two people, he’s thankful his parents gave him a bit more money.

suddenly, he hears the door being opened. his roommate is here. time to meet them.

“chanhee?” the person calls out, that voice is familiar.

“oh.. you’re not chanhee..” do you get deja vu?

“uhm.. no. i’m not.” sunwoo answers.

“i see. ji changmin, majoring in anatomy.”

“kim sunwoo. computer engineering.”

“i’ll leave you to unpack and decorate your side. i’ll just go out.”

changmin nods at sunwoo. he quickly runs out of their dorm to find hyunjun. there is no way in hell this is real.

“room 1026.. room 1026…” sunwoo is running around the halls in a panic. this can not be real.  he finally finds the room and knocks, a bit hurriedly.

“hyunjun! it’s me, sunwoo!” he calls out in a panic.

hyunjun opens the door and sunwoo lets himself in.

“you will not believe who’s my roommate!”

“woah woah! calm down first. you can sit down on my bed.”

“changmin! changmin! he’s my roommate! oh my god!” sunwoo panics.

“changmin… as in…?”

“ji changmin. my long time crush. my crush of two years.”

“holy shit. the universe is playing with you!”

“bro, can you pinch me?”

“aw!”

“you said to pinch you!”

“this isn’t a dream. this is real. oh my god. i’m getting deja vu.”

“is that your dream from earlier?”

“yep. oh my god. this is happening. this is real? i can’t!”

“out of all the people in this university.”

“but wait, who’s your roommate?”

“he hasn’t arrived yet.”

“but what if we negotiated with him?”

“changmin is going to think you hate him or something.”

“crap. i hope i didn’t give off that impression.”

“considering you ran after your introduction, he might think that way.”

“shit.”

“look on the bright side, you can get closer to him as a friend.”

“i like the dude!”

“romantically…?”

“i don’t think so. but he’s my idol!”

“think of him as your roommate and not as a celebrity.”

“i don’t think of him as a celebrity. i’m just… i just wasn’t expecting him to be my roommate.”

“well, you can now be friends with your idol.”

“i'm not sure but i’ll try.”

a few moments later, sunwoo enters their shared dorm. he can’t believe he’s going to room with changmin for at least a year!

sunwoo sees changmin already fixing his desk, should he say hi? should they be friends? how is he supposed to act? should he act like they didn’t go to school together?

“you’re staring.” changmin says, without glancing at sunwoo.

“sorry!”

“is there anything you want?”

“… we actually went to high school together.”

“oh.” changmin says and turns to face sunwoo.

“that’s why you look familiar.” is he dreaming? did changmin actually recognize him?

“you’re from the classroom on our left, right?”

“ye.. yeah! i just thought i would say that to clear up the air. do you have any rules i should know?”

“hm… just basic roommate etiquette. what about you? any habits i should know?”

“i’m a night owl. i do my homework quite late at night.”

“i see. i have the same habits.”

sunwoo can’t help but to feel happy, after years of admiring changmin, he can finally have the chance to be friends with him! hyunjun was right, they could definitely be good friends.

“well… i’ll leave you to unpack all your remaining items. you can just call me if you need help.”

“mm.” changmin replies.

sunwoo lays down in his bed to check his phone, surprisingly, their group chat was blowing up.

hyunjunie

you’ll never guess my roommate

hakkie

the next morning, sunwoo wakes up to the sound of the coffee maker. he looks at the time and it’s already afternoon, he had a good night of sleep.

“oh. you’re awake.” changmin says.

“how do you like your coffee?”

“i don’t drink coffee.”

“oh? okay. i’ll go out to eat lunch in a bit.”

should sunwoo invite him to lunch with hyunjun…? should he even attempt to be friends with him somehow…?

“say it.”

“huh?”

“i know you’re contemplating on saying something. say it or forever hold your peace.”

“ah.. would you like to go to lunch with me?” sunwoo definitely didn’t intend to say it like that. it seems like he was inviting him to date.

“yeah, i’m okay with that. i’ll wait for you to get ready.”

sunwoo quickly got up from his bed and got ready, this was all happening fast. hell, he doesn’t even know places in this area. he definitely needs hyunjun to help, so he hurriedly texts hyunjun while in the shower.

to: hyunjunie

after a few minutes, sunwoo was finally ready. he was wearing a black shirt, contrast to changmin’s white shirt outfit with glasses. sunwoo’s heart skipped a bit, changmin was absolutely handsome.

“ready to go?”

“ye.. yeah!” sunwoo says a bit flustered. unknown to him, changmin was also flustered by sunwoo’s visuals.

sunwoo leads changmin to the way of the café, he’s so thankful that hyunjun knows this place. it looks very cozy, he will definitely become a regular customer here if he likes the food.

“what are you getting?” sunwoo was the one to break the silence.

“their pasta and coffee looks good.”

“how often do you drink coffee?”

“two cups minimum.”

“isn’t that…?”

“bad for my health?”

“yeah…?”

“i’m used to it. preparing myself to be a future doctor.”

“oooh. i’ll go and order for us.”

changmin slightly smiles at sunwoo, although it was hidden because he was wearing a mask, changmin enjoys the acts of service that people do unconsciously. it makes them look more attractive to him.

a few moments later, sunwoo comes back with two plates of pasta, a coffee, and a milkshake. changmin wonders why sunwoo doesn’t drink coffee.

“the staff are so kind. someone asked for my number.” sunwoo mindlessly says.

“they’re interested in you.” changmin says and takes a sip of his iced coffee, the taste is absolute perfection.

“oh? i thought they just wanted to be friends.”

“could be. but it’s more likely they found you attractive.”

sunwoo doesn’t think more of the employee asking for his number, he really believes they just want to be friends.

“the pasta is good.”

“yeah.” changmin replies. sunwoo also wonders if changmin is just a man of few words or are they just not friends yet?

“you’re staring.”

“no, i was just zoning out.”

“while looking at me?”

“you’re in front of me.”

“would you rather i sit beside you?”

sunwoo’s heart skipped a beat. he has never been that close with changmin, he might panic.

“no no. i was just zoning out, thinking about… college.”

“ah. classes start in two days.”

“i can’t believe i’m already in college.”

“how are you so chill about this?”

“hmm?”

that hmm was very attractive in sunwoo’s book.

“college. it’s like you’re already settled in.”

“ah. yeah. i was already living alone back in high school. i just moved in to a dorm so i won’t have to commute to the university.”

“really? you don’t have any siblings?”

“i do. my family is in canada with my younger sister. i’m the only one here.”

sunwoo is so confused on how casual this conversation is with changmin.

“really? i have an older sister. she’s already working, and i was often the only person at home but still… it’s still overwhelming.”

“i’m used to it already. i wanted to stay here in korea.”

“i admire you for that.”

“thanks.”

“if i may ask… why don’t you drink coffee?”

“i don’t like the bitter taste.”

“so… what do you drink when you pull all-nighters?”

“soda.” sunwoo answers, changmin will definitely keep that in mind.

changmin always kept to himself, he has been friends with his group since they were children. he’s not really used to making friends. he always disliked having attention around him, but with sunwoo, he wanted to be friends.

“so… how do you like your food?”

“it’s good.”

“we should go here again.”

“if you like, of course.”

“of course.”

sunwoo wants to say something but he’s not sure what to say. it’s hard for him to believe that he’s eating lunch with his idol. should sunwoo even tell him that? wouldn’t he feel weird about it?

a few days later, they were already going to classes and seeing each other only in the morning and night. sunwoo was too busy to even mind his feelings for changmin, he’s too overwhelmed with the college to even think about it. the same goes for changmin, his major is academically rigorous and he studies well to be a doctor.

one night, sunwoo slept on their couch out of exhaustion. he didn’t expect college to be this draining. his eyes and brain needed a break from all the coding and math he has been doing for the past few days.

changmin enters their dorm, already concerned by the looks of sunwoo. he definitely needed a blanket.

“sunwoo?” he tried to call out, but sunwoo was deep asleep.

changmin goes to sunwoo’s bed to grab his blanket, but something on his desk caught his attention. changmin first goes to put the blanket on sunwoo, he then goes back to his desk. changmin wasn’t one to snoop around, but this particular paper caught his eye. it was addressed to him

dear ji changmin,

congratulations on being the top one in our whole batch! i have always admired your hard work and dedication. you don’t know me, so this letter might come across as weird to you. you are my role model, truly a student that i aspire to be. i probably won’t give you this letter but i just want to write it as a memorabilia. i hope you do well in life! until i see you again <3

love,

kim sunwoo

section b

sunwoo admires him…?  normally changmin would feel uncomfortable, but for some reason, he doesn’t feel that way. maybe because it was sunwoo? he doesn’t know, but he does know that he’s happy that sunwoo feels this way towards him.

he quickly placed the letter from the original place, it was like he hasn’t read it. changmin went to bed with a smile on his face that night. so sunwoo feels like that towards me? i like that.

sunwoo wakes up the next morning feeling very refreshed, he immediately notices his blanket. changmin must have put it on him, how thoughtful. he stands up and sees changmin cooking. something about the view was so domestic, it was like they were a couple.

“oh, you’re awake. you can sit down. i cooked for you too.” changmin says.

“thank you… and for the blanket too.”

“didn’t want you to catch a cold. you should rest once in a while.”

“i was overwhelmed with the workload.”

“i see. do you need help?”

“...huh? we’re from different majors.”

“i’m a fast learner. you can teach me a bit and i can help you.”

“isn’t that an inconvenience for you?”

“no. let me know if you want take the offer.” changmin says and serves sunwoo his breakfast, bibimbap and apple juice.

“thanks for offering. but are you sure it’s not a hassle for you?”

“yes. i can help you, i have spare time.” changmin reassures.

“thank you for the breakfast. i’ll make it up to you.”

“no need. you’re my friend.”

sunwoo was flustered, changmin already considers him as his friend!

“it’s a saturday today, are you going somewhere?”

“yeah, just lunch with chanhee.”

“want to go grocery shopping after that? i’ve ran out of supplies.”

“only if you want to!”

“it’s fine for me. meet you at the mart at 4 pm?”

“sure! i’ll pay for your share, that’s my way of making it up to you.”

changmin would normally decline such an offer, but from the looks of sunwoo, it seems like he didn’t a choice, “okay. i’ll go get ready. see you later.”

after an hour, changmin was already in chanhee’s dorm to catch up. adjusting to the college workload was also taking a toll on chanhee.

“hey.” he says at his door.

“come in. hyunjun is out for the day.”

“so the great choi chanhee still knows me after all.”

“oh, shut up. accounting is a pain the ass.”

“you chose that major, mr. i love math.”

“whatever. how are you doing?”

“so far… fine. anatomy is everything i’ve expected it to be.”

“what about your life? like your roommate?”

“we get along.”

“you’re hiding something from me.”

damnit, after a decade of friendship, chanhee can read changmin like a book. he immediately knows something is up just from his tone.

“he’s attractive.”

“what? say that again?”

“i find him attractive.”

“oh my god! you’re growing up!”

“shut up! he’s attractive and that’s all!”

“i don’t believe you. from the way you’re defending yourself, there’s more to the story.”

“i hate how well you know me.”

“of course, i’m your best friend. so…? what’s the tea?”

“we went to high school together. he was in section b.”

“hyunjun too. maybe they’re friends.”

“you seem to know your roommate well.”

“we get along well.”

“i see.”

“back to the topic, what else are you not telling me?”

“apparently, he admires me. i’ve read his letter to me.”

“so you snooped around his things?”

“not on purpose!”

“uhuh… and how do you feel about this? you don’t seem repulsed.”

“that’s the point! normally i would feel weird, but i don’t. i kind of… like it?”

“oh deary! i have never thought this day would come!”

“what?”

“you, my dear friend, have a crush on this guy!”

“huh…?”

“what’s his name?”

“sunwoo.”

“you like this sunwoo dude.”

“what?”

“you’re smart, changmin. you’ll figure it out soon.”

after that hangout with chanhee, changmin was left thinking about what chanhee said. he has a crush on sunwoo? in his whole nineteen years of existence, he has never really had any crushes. he found people attractive, but that was it. but for sunwoo, he was making an effort for them to be friends.

“hey!” sunwoo runs up to him in the mart. even though sunwoo was just wearing a grey hoodie and sweatpants, he looked handsome.

“hi. let’s go.” changmin says and enters the mart. he grabs a cart to push around.

“did you know? hyunjun is roommates with chanhee. hyunjun is my best friend.” sunwoo says.

“hmm. what a small world. how long have you been friends with hyunjun?”

“8 years…? he’s very special to me.” sunwoo answers. changmin starts to feel weird, it was like his heart was hurt. what was that? he’s not used to feeling that.

“i see. do you eat instant ramen?” changmin says, changing the topic. for some reason, he doesn’t want to hear sunwoo talk about hyunjun.

“yep. you can buy a pack if you want. let’s share.”

“we could make gimbap rolls.” changmin suggests. he still feels weird about hearing sunwoo talk about hyunjun, he has yet to discover what’s happening.

“sure, sure! i’ll just go to the chocolate section, i’m gonna buy for hyunjun. do you want too?”

“ye.. yeah.”

“you okay? you’re a bit red.”

“yep. just a bit hot in here.”

“okay. i’ll just go to the chocolate section.”

changmin doesn’t like that he feels this way. what on earth is happening to him? is he having a heartburn? he hopes he’s not gonna die soon, he still wants to be a doctor. while waiting for sunwoo, changmin decides to message his friends.

hey

i think there’s something wrong with me

lee hyunjae

what’s happening?

kim younghoon

are you okay?

i feel like i’m having a heartburn out of nowhere

choi chanhee

choi chanhee

you’re jealous

“hey… you look stressed. do you want to go home?” sunwoo comes up to him with chocolates in hand.

“no no. i’m okay, let’s continue shopping.”

“okay, we will go straight to our dorm after this. you should rest.”

after grocery shopping, changmin was beginning to look at sunwoo more often, especially on their walk home. he’s handsome, tall, hygienic, kind… he’s the ideal guy. why is he having these thoughts? are these normal? he’s so confused.

they enter the dorm and sunwoo immediately says, “i’ll be the one to put them in cabinets. you should go rest.”

“thank you.”

“call out to me when you need me.”

changmin immediately changes to his pajamas and lays down. is this what having a crush feels like? it feels so… weird to feel this way. he immediately goes to google. changmin searches how do you know if it's a crush? millions of results immediately pop up. there are multiple articles on ways to recognize that you have a crush on someone. changmin immediately started reading from his laptop and taking notes. it feels like he’s doing an assignment.

a few hours later, changmin and sunwoo were still awake. they were both at their desks and seemingly doing assignments. suddenly he hears sunwoo say to himself, “damn i’m in need of new headphones.”

with this knowledge, changmin started browsing the internet to find a new pair to be delivered soon. he doesn’t know why he’s doing this, but it feels right.

the next morning, sunwoo wakes up with new headphones on his desk. sunwoo needed to pinch himself first to make sure he was not dreaming.

“huh? where did this come from? did i buy this accidentally?” he says.

changmin heard him and he wasn’t so sure if he should tell the truth.

“changmin? when did the headphones arrive?” he calls out.

“i bought it for you.”

“...you did?”

“i heard you last night. i’m sorry if i didn’t consult you first. it was just so… i don’t…” for the first time in changmin’s life, he didn’t know how to explain himself.

“it’s okay. it’s exactly what i want, thank you so much.”

“you don’t find it weird?”

“no. thank you so much. i’ll use this with all my love.” sunwoo smiles.

changmin was flustered, sunwoo was more attractive when he smiled because of him.

fast forward, they were already roommates for two months and more already. every day they grew closer. changmin is starting to feel more and more comfortable with sunwoo already. he’s still denying his crush for him (or at least that’s what his friends tell him) but right now, he’s just enjoying his presence.

“changmin, do you like raccoons?” sunwoo asks all of a sudden while they were eating a late-night snack. both of them were pulling all-nighters.

“yeah, they’re cute.”

“do you want to see one?”

“yes.”

“let’s go to a raccoon café tomorrow after classes. it’s a bit close here.”

“i’m down.”

changmin was quite excited for his classes to end. he really likes animals, he was even considering being a vet. suddenly, sunwoo comes up to him, disrupting his thoughts.

“i almost got lost in your department,” he says.

“i didn’t expect you to pick me up.”

“me too. it was just a spur-in-the-moment type of thing. let’s go?” sunwoo offers his hand unconsciously.

changmin holds on to his wrist and they walk to the raccoon café that sunwoo was talking about. changmin observes sunwoo’s attire, he was always very casual. often throwing a hoodie and sweatpants, but he looked good in every single one.

they arrive at the café, and various animals were there but the raccoons were the main attraction. immediately, changmin started playing with the raccoons roaming around. they were super friendly and cuddly!

“sunwoo, you look like them! they’re so cute!” changmin says while giggling.

sunwoo could feel himself blushing not only changmin call him cute, this is the happiest he has seen him. happiness definitely suits him.

“can you take a picture of us?” changmin asks.

“sure!” sunwoo says and takes a picture. he then takes a picture with him included too. changmin wasn’t wrong, sunwoo can see the resemblance between him and the raccoons.

they both had a very good time in the raccoon café, they both needed that after months of being stressed with the university. they arrive at their dorm, only for sunwoo to immediately go.

“i’ll just go to hyunjun real quick. i have to give him back his shirt.”

“i see. i’ll take a shower.” changmin says.

while taking a long cold shower, changmin starts to feel that stabbing heart feeling again. he hates it. he hasn’t even met this hyunjun person but he immediately doesn’t like him.

changmin goes out of the shower, he immediately sees sunwoo giggling while holding his phone. he looked cute, but changmin thinks he would look cuter if changmin was the reason that he was giggling.

“hey… i just discovered that there’s a rooftop place in this dorm.” changmin says.

“let’s go there. i’ll just take a shower.”

changmin and sunwoo soon find themselves on the rooftop place of their dorm. the view was immaculate, it was very peaceful, changmin is happy that he got to share this experience first with sunwoo.

“hey sunwoo.” changmin says and goes closer to sunwoo. their lips only a few centimeters from each other.

“yeah?”

“has anybody told you that you have gorgeous lips?”

“uhm… no?”

“has anybody…?”

“has anybody what?”

“done this before?” changmin says and closes the gap between their lips.

sunwoo’s eyes widened. did changmin just kiss him?

“now someone has.” changmin says with a smirk and walks to go back to their dorm.

sunwoo touched his lips, no way that was real? is he dreaming? what was that?

when sunwoo returned to their dorm, changmin was already asleep. he’s not even sure what even is real anymore. why would changmin kiss him? does he like him? that was his first kiss too!

sunwoo decides to sleep first and just ask changmin when he wakes up. but there’s only one problem, he can’t stop touching his lips. changmin’s lips were definitely soft. he’s going crazy. he has managed to not let changmin know about his feelings and changmin goes to pull stunts like this.

the next day, the moment sunwoo wakes up, he immediately goes to changmin.

“why did you kiss me?”

“i didn’t.”

“yes, you did!”

“what do you mean? i was just here the entire time.”

“on the rooftop… yesterday!”

“have you been dreaming of me?”

sunwoo was silent. even he doesn’t know what’s real anymore.

“i’m going to chanhee’s later.” changmin changes the subject.

although sunwoo was still confused, “that’s great! you can even meet hyunjun.”

“i see. is he kind?”

“yes, yes! he’s kind, handsome, and funny! you two will have no trouble being friends.”

changmin feels another pang in this chest. he wonders what sunwoo thinks of him? is he this happy while talking about him? are they really just friends?

an hour later, changmin was already in chanhee’s doorstep.

chanhee lets him in, “hyunjun isn’t here. he has classes.”

“i see.” changmin says.

“how do you know… how do you identify jealousy?”

“you sound like a teacher.”

“it feels like… i don’t know how to describe it. you just know it. it like… a pang feeling.”

changmin unconsciously touches his lip, an action that chanhee noticed immediately, “i see.”

“why are you asking?”

“no reason.”

chanhee knows that that’s a lie but doesn’t press further. but he does notice changmin touching his lip a lot, a habit he did not have before. chanhee immediately concludes something.

“hey changmin?”

“yeah?”

“can i meet sunwoo? hyunjun often mentions him, i’m curious about him.”

changmin frowns, so they’re both always talking about each other, he doesn’t know how to feel about that. but unknown to changmin, he’s talking to hyunjun’s future boyfriend.

“yeah. he’s home. let’s go.”

chanhee immediately noticed he used the term home . he definitely knows something happened.

as soon as chanhee meets sunwoo, he immediately knows. sunwoo is attractive and jolly. definitely changmin’s type.

“hey!” sunwoo greets with a smile.

“hi. hyunjun often mentions you.” chanhee says.

“ah really? he mentions you a lot too.”

chanhee noticed changmin was rolling his eyes. he chuckles at the sight, he’s definitely jealous.

“i know you two kissed.” chanhee blurts out.

sunwoo’s eyes widened and immediately turns to changmin.

“i didn’t tell him!” changmin panics.

“ah… so you’re not denying it?” chanhee teases. crap . changmin was busted.

“i’ll leave you guys to it.” chanhee says with a smirk and leaves.

after chanhee leaves, sunwoo closes the door. he turned to changmin and pins him to the wall. their faces dangerously close to each other.

“oh so you do admit that we kissed.”

“and you do admit that you dream of me.”

“you’re going out of topic.”

“why, sunwoo? do you want another one?”

“another what?”

changmin leans in closer, the distance of their face from one another is only a few centimeters. “kiss.”

“why would you kiss me again? do you like me?”

changmin closes the gap between them, kissing sunwoo’s soft lips. “that’s up for interpretation.”

“it’s safe to assume that you do.” sunwoo says, now he’s the one closing the gap between their lips, not knowing where he got the confidence.

“third.” changmin says.

“third what?”

“our third kiss.”

sunwoo kisses changmin’s lips again, his forehead, his cute nose, his cheek, “you don’t have to count anymore.”

sunwoo notices that changmin was blushing. he smiles at the sight, he really doesn’t know where he got the confidence, but he likes it.

“your lips are addicting,” changmin whispers.

“you can kiss me all you want.”

“don’t mind if i do.” changmin says and closes the gap between their lips once again.
