- Neil and Andrew had a falling out because of distance and fear.
- Andrew sustained a career-ending injury his 2nd year playing professional exy. It threw him into a spiral no one could help him out of.
- He felt like he was holding Neil back and was deadweight in Neil’s new life.
- Andrew returned to the only place that had ever felt like home…Palmetto.
- He moved into the same apartment building as Wymack and came on as an assistant coach of the Foxes while putting himself through graduate school.
- He didn’t expect to enjoy coaching, and he didn’t really…but bossing kids around wasn’t the worst way to go about his days and he didn’t actually have to play
- With some of the most important parts of his support network (Betsy, Wymack, and even Abby on some level), he was able to piece himself back together.
- But a large piece of Andrew was still missing.
- Years later, they are in different countries and Andrew wishes things could be different (maybe they can)
- Neil had moved to the other side of the world to flourish in his exy career, out of the shadow of Riko’s memory, Kevin’s existence, and his own heartbreak.
