"Ah, I'm dying from the heat! Summer is only fun when you get to laze around in a pool…"
Mitsuki rolls around on the dorm room’s floor, hoping that the fan hanging from the ceiling that's running on maximum power could save him from this summer heat.
Evidently, it's not helping in the slightest.
"Mitsuki… I can't take this anymore…"
Nagi, faring worse than Mitsuki, rolls around on the floor and tries to cling onto Mitsuki for comfort.
"Nagi, I'm already sweaty and sticky, you're gonna make it even hotter!"
"But hugging you gives me comfort while having to deal with the hot weather!”
“That literally makes no sense!”
Mitsuki lets out a defeated sigh as they both continue to lie on the floor, wishing for a miracle to turn the weather cooler within an instant.
"I wish we had ice cream…" Nagi sighs.
Something clicked within Mitsuki's mind as he sat up in an instant.
"We do have ice cream in the fridge! Let me go grab it!" Mitsuki yells as he darts up and sprints towards the fridge.
Pushing past Yamato's bottle of beers, Tamaki's bottle of puddings and Sogo's bottles of hot sauce with a skull symbol on it (seriously, what kind of hot sauce does Sogo even take?), Mitsuki finally finds the ice cream he bought from his shopping trip a while back.
"I found it!" He called out as he made his way back to Nagi, who’s a few seconds away from experiencing a heat stroke.
“Mitsuki… you’re my knight in shining armor…!” Nagi thanks Mitsuki as he peels open the packaging of the ice cream and devours it like his life depends on it.
“Nagi, slow down! You’re gonna choke on the ice cream!” Mitsuki chuckles as he himself starts to eat the ice cream as well.
“...”
“W-what’s wrong Nagi? Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Mitsuki, come closer. You got something on your face, let me get it for you.”
Mitsuki, although confused, perks his head up towards Nagi as he was told to.
Within an instant, Nagi places a gentle kiss upon Mitsuki’s forehead, which takes Mitsuki by surprise and turns his face a bright shade of red.
“Wh-hey! That’s cheating, don’t take me by surprise like that!”
Nagi giggles as he attempts to plant another kiss on Mitsuki’s forehead, to which Mitsuki dodges his attempts, his cheeks still flushed from the kiss.
“But spoiling you makes me feel way better than any ice cream would!”
“You just want an excuse to spoil me!”
Mitsuki pouts while Nagi laughs, as they both go back to eating their ice cream beneath the living room fan and the hot summer sun.
“...Nagi, you’re such a messy eater. You got some ice cream on the corner of your mouth.”
“Oh! Do you plan on kissing my forehead as well as revenge, Mitsuki?”
“I can’t even reach your forehead, dumbass! Now come on, let me clean it off for you.”
Nagi leans down slightly towards Mitsuki as told, genuinely wondering if Mitsuki will wipe off the excess ice cream by the corner of his mouth.
Before Nagi could even process what was going on, Mitsuki kissed Nagi on the lips and smiled.
“...but I guess I could reach your lips!” Mitsuki giggles.
Nagi, too stunned to speak, simply stares at Mitsuki as his gaze softens and tries to plant a kiss on his lips as well before Mitsuki dodges it and chuckles, telling Nagi to focus on eating his ice cream before it melts completely.
Beneath the shining rays of the sun, their laughter echoes throughout the halls, making these summer days more livelier than ever.
Maybe summer isn’t so bad, after all.
