Work Text:

“Ha ha, you can’t stop me!” A dark cloaked figure shouts out maniacally, magic swirling around his hands. “You will fail, and the princess will be sacrificed to-”

He never gets to finish as an armored fist smashes into his face, throwing him back a few feet and knocking him out instantly.

“Wow, that was kinda pathetic.” The owner of said fist says, altering her gaze between it and the cloaked man with judging eyes “and here I was expecting a dragon or something to stop me.”

Makoto Nanaya gingerly brushes off her fist, a small blotch of blood smearing it from the last attack. “Not gonna lie, I’m kinda disappointed.”

The squirrel girl shrugs, her bushy tail swaying behind her in a jittery motion. Cupping her hands around her mouth, she shouts “Hey Princess, you around?”

“I’m over here, Lady Knight!” The voice sounds regal and formal, much like how Makoto thought a princess would sound like. It came from a door not too far down the dungeon, much to her relief.

“Gottcha, I’ll get you out in a sec.” She would say that she’s not really a knight, but that is so far from relevant that she let’s it pass; she’s about to meet a princess, afterall.

She didn’t usually get sent on these kinds of missions, what with her being a spy for the NOL Kingdom. Espionage, scouting, and the like were typically her line of business. That being said, the current mission required immediate action, and she just so happened to be the closest. She was out on a mission in a distant tundra far from most civilization when she got the call about a kidnapped princess. Being so far out in the boonies made the connection weak, however, so Makoto only got a partial amount of information. From what she could gather, she had to save a princess from a tower in the middle of nowhere. She also heard something about a dragon, but couldn’t make out what. That put her mildly on edge—she’s never seen a dragon before, much less fight one—but she was determined to do the mission never-the-less.

The journey through the tower was challenging, but Makoto made short work of it with her know-how and brute strength. The only thing that concerns her is the dragon, or lack thereof; throughout the entire tower, she hasn’t encountered one yet. She doesn’t have all the info, so she has no idea how a dragon is involved, but she still wants to stay alert. That’s still backseat to her excitement of meeting a princess, of course. Walking up to the dungeon door, she breaks the lock with a swift punch and opens it.

“Princess, I’m here to save...you…”

Makoto’s words die in her throat as she looks upon the princess, or more accurately, looks down . Standing at half her height, sporting green scales and a pair of horns, and wearing little save for a thong so small she has to squint to see it, a top barely containing her massive breasts, and a tiny green crown on her head is a kobold. It suddenly occurs to Makoto that she made a very big mistake: the princess isn’t being protected by a dragon, the princess is a dragon (a tiny flightless one, but a dragonoid nonetheless).

“My hero!” The ‘princess’ cheers, regal speech suddenly very mismatched with the maw it is coming out of. Before Makoto can react, a pair of scaly arms wrap themselves around her waist as the tiny lizard presses herself against the squirrel.

“I...uh...huh?” Is about all the girl can muster as her head tries and fails to catch up with the events, “You’re...the princess?” Though unintentional, her voice has an insulting amount of disbelief in it. She sees the kobold’s smile falter as she removes her arms and steps back.

“Yes, the Princess of the Canopy Cave Kingdom. Were you not sent here to rescue me?” There’s a bit of hesitance in her voice, though Makoto can’t blame her. Despite only getting so much information with her shitty signal, she’s pretty there isn’t anyone else it could be.

“I was.”

“Were you not informed of who I am?”

“I didn’t get all the information, just...just a princess.”

“I see.” The princess responds with a defeated tone, “I’m sorry to disappoint you.”

Makoto fights the pit of guilt growing in her stomach. “No no no no no, I’m just... surprised is all! It’s honestly my bad for not being prepared!” She shouts back, trying to sound genuine. She didn’t want to upset royalty after all (as well as having very intimate knowledge of what it’s like to be looked down on for what you are).

The kobold’s smile returns, a subtle movement across her muzzle. Man, she is so polite! Especially for a...for someone who was imprisoned here. Not because she’s a kobold; that would be ridiculously hypocritical of her.

The kobold’s eyes suddenly widen. “Is that a tail?!” She gasps, looking at Makoto’s bushy behind. “You’re a beastman?” Makoto nods slightly, angling her body so her tail is in reach. The princess doesn’t hesitate to take the invitation, grabbing the fluffy extremity with starry eyes. Makoto doesn’t usually allow strangers to touch her tail, but now seems like a special circumstance. The princess’ own tail starts swinging behind her lightly, bringing a slight smile to Makoto’s face.

“I must say, for someone who knew so little, you must’ve gone through many obstacles to reach me.” The princess states, lightly petting the squirrel’s tail “That makes your deed all the more praiseworthy.”

“Oh stop, it was nothing.” Makoto responds with faux embarrassment, though she can’t help a dust of pink on her cheeks.

“Oh, so humble too.” The princess states, leaning into the tail with her not insignificant amount of cleavage, “You’d make a fine wife.”

Makoto’s ear twitches. Did she hear that right?

“Wait, what?” She shouts, “I’m...you’re...that can’t! We can’t! I’m not even a kobold... or human for that matter!”

“Oh, I don’t mind.” She says as she drags a claw teasingly across the edges of her tail, “I find fur so... exotic .”

Makoto instantly rips her tail away, much to the princess’ disappointment. “I-I’m sorry, you have the wrong idea! I’m just here to get you back to your people safely. Okay?”

The kobold looks up with disappointment on her face—maybe even a touch hurt—as she politely nods. “Of course, lady knight. I did not mean to make you uncomfortable.”

Makoto smiles widely, “Great! Then...shall we get moving?” Once again, the princess nods politely, and they make their way through the tower.

As they move, Makoto has a near mental break down as she realizes a kobold princess just asked her to be her wife! Sure, she doesn’t hide her attraction to the fairer sex; she was known for grouping her friends way back in school, both male and female alike. She doesn’t put a label to it, but the word that closest describes her is ‘pansexual’; she doesn’t really like to limit herself. That being said…

Makoto looks down at the ridiculously well-endowed lizard half her size still looking up at her with bedroom eyes, and suddenly she’s not entirely sure what to think. She also finds her gaze constantly moving towards the kobold’s chest; not just out of perverse appreciation, but also in baffled curiosity why and how a lizard person has breasts in the first place. What is their function? Do they have a function? The princess catches the squirrel in the act, causing her to turn away flustered.

“Oh, no need to look away.” The lizard says shyly as she reaches to adjust her top, showing off more underboob “Please, look as much as you want .”

Makoto is definitely blushing now “That’s... appreciated , but I’m...I’m good.”

After many awkward hours traversing the tower, Makoto notices the princess slowing down behind her.

“Are you alright, your highness?” She asks in concern. She turns to find the kobold wrapping her arms tightly around herself, shivering violently.

“I apologize, I do not fair well in the cold here.”

Makoto’s eyes widen: aren’t kobolds cold-blooded? And aren’t they in the middle of a tundra ?!

“Shit, you’re not gonna die are you?” Makoto asks in a panic. The princess looks up with concern.

“There’s no need to worry about that, it’s just a trifling thing. Please don’t let it distract you-”

“I feel like keeping your circulation going is a bit more than trifling...shit!” The spy looks around, then through her supplies, then her own person for anything that can keep the royal warm. Turning around, an idea pops in her head.

“Get on.” She says with conviction, lowering to her knees. The princess looks confused for a moment before it becomes clear what she wants.

“There’s no need to carry me-“

“Just get on.”

The kobold silently obeys, mounting the squirrel right above her tail. Suddenly, the bushy appendage wraps itself around the princess into a furry cocoon. The effect is almost immediate, as Makoto feels the kobold practically melt into her back.

“That warm enough?” Makoto asks. The princess responds with a loud, satisfied sigh that is maybe a little too excited sounding; the spy takes that as a resounding yes.

Makoto continues on her way back out of the tower, now carrying the extremely comfortable royal on her back.

“You know, you are very smooth for a beastman.” The princess comments dreamily, seemingly only partially conscious in her fluffy resting spot “I had thought a beastman would be covered in fur, yet you are not.”

Makoto could say that she should be covered in fur if she didn’t ritualistically shave her entire body; beastmen already deal with shit regularly—female beastmen even worse so—so she decided to eliminate the one thing keeping her from passing as human besides her ears and tail. She’s lucky that she has a human parent, so she has a relatively flat face, mostly human features, and doesn’t face massive consequences for removing all the hair from her body. She could say that.

Instead, she says “Thanks, I moisturize.”

Finally they exit the tower, and Makoto makes her way to a small cave. Carefully unwrapping the princess, she begins trying to start a fire. Taking a quick jog outside, she smashes a tree with her bare hands and drags it back. The princess looks on in amazement as Makoto rips a tree in half, sets up the wood, and then begins trying to spark a flame. She spins two sticks together with a hurried panic, whispering “come on, come on” silently to herself. The princess walks up and touches her shoulder.

“Mind if I try?”

Before Makoto can even ask how, the princess puffs out a tiny little stream of fire, igniting the wood instantly. The squirrel’s jaw drops.

“You could do that the whole time ?!” She screams. The kobold shrugs.

“We are descendants of dragons.”

“Wait, then...did you even need my tail?”

The princess looks away in mild guilt before shaking her head. “I tried to tell you I didn’t, but it was just...so fluffy .”

The squirrel’s mouth juts open in offense. “You. Little. Sneak! ” She screams.

The tiny dragon looks alarmed, “What?! What did I do?”

Makoto fumes, “You tricked me into carrying you, and wrapping you in my tail!”

The kobold looks confused, “I only did that cause you insisted!”

Makoto opens her mouth, freezes, and then shuts it. She did do that, didn’t she? She made an assumption and the princess just ran with it.

She slumps where she sits, guilt now evident on her face.

“You’re right, I’ve just been a big jerk. This whole time, I’ve just been a big jerk. I had hyped myself up about meeting a princess so much that finding out you were a kobold made me dismiss you, even though you’ve been nothing but nice. I’m...I’m sorry.”

Makoto attempts to turn away, but stops as a hand touches her shoulder, Looking up, she sees the concerned face of the Princess “You’re wrong! You’ve been most kind! You rescued me, then carried me even when I hadn’t asked it, even after my…*ahem* advances clearly made you uncomfortable. You are impulsive and one-track minded, yes, but you are still without a doubt the bravest, kindest person I’ve ever met, dear lady knight.”

Makoto tries to fight the blush rising on her face, and fails spectacularly; she was never good with praise, and getting it hammered on so thick is making her head hot. It’s in that moment that she notices the princess, still in barely fitting rags, starting to shiver again. In an act of pure impulse, she lifts up her cloak, showing her fighting top and shorts underneath.

“You still kold, your highness?” She asks. The princess looks up with surprise, the scales around her face lighting up.

“Oh, I couldn’t!”

“I insist !” Makoto finishes, her own face heating up. She is aware of how flirty that sounds, but: 1. It’s a princess, and she’s cold 2. It’s her job to protect said princess, and she’s cold 3. Seeing this thirsty lizard look at her with unconditional affection and lust in her eyes is something she can’t very well ignore, and she’s cold .

Reluctantly, the kobold princess makes her way over to the squirrel’s side and gently leans down. The moment she touches Makoto, however, all hesitation disappears.

“You’re so warm .” She says in a breathy voice that is now very much putting Makoto on edge. The kobold flushes against her, placing her head on the squirrel’s side to avoid stabbing anything with her horns. Makoto tingles as she feels scaly arms on her bare skin and claws gently kneading into her flesh. The spy replaces the cloak around the two, capturing what warmth they can next to the fire and somewhat awkwardly wrapping her arm around the princess. The rough feeling of the scales against her skin isn’t as bad as she thought it would be; they were smooth but not hard or cold. The alien sensation is, much to the squirrel’s dismay, not entirely unpleasant. She also can’t ignore the giant lumps of what appears to be boobs smashed indeligantly to her side; she usually can at least appreciate the feeling, but the mysterious nature behind why a reptile has boobs is making it more tantalizing than pleasant—it is at the very least comfy

As the two sit there, the sound of the crackling fire easing her into a peaceful calm, Makoto makes eye contact with her charge. The princess looks at her with half-lidded eyes full of affection and desire. Reacting to the eye contact, the princess’ smile gains a playfulness as she flicks her tail over the squirrel’s legs and gently slides it along her inner thigh. Makoto tenses at the sensation, numerous thoughts and feelings running through her head. She is not entirely sure why she is still letting this happen or why she let this get so far, but she holds her place. Makoto gulps, eliciting a giggle from the princess.

“I’m not making you uncomfortable, am I? Lady knight ?” She says in a...well, what else can she call it but a sultry voice? Makoto tries to smile, but the princess’ tail continuing its trail down her leg makes it hard to focus.

“Um, your tail is getting a little frisky down there.” She answers with a nervous laugh.

“I apologize, it sometimes acts with a mind of its own.” The princess answers back playfully, her tail shamelessly continuing its course. The kobold removes her arms from around Makoto’s waist and wraps them around her neck, bringing the two much closer. Before Makoto can react and ask ‘what the hell are you doing’, the princess gently reaches up and scratches one of her ears.

“These ears, do they differ from human ones much?” She asks, her maw right next to the squirrel’s face. Makoto starts to stutter, feeling the kobold’s tail wrap around the squirrel’s waist in a firm embrace.

“N-no- I mean, yes, placement-wise, but functionally speaking they’re-”

“I meant are they more sensitive ?” The kobold whispers, giving the ear a thorough scratch. Makoto’s eye twitches, trying to fight back against the sensation.

Y-Yes ...they can be, please don’t do that!” The squirrel squeaks out in a high pitched voice. The kobold let’s go of the ear and returns her arms back around Makoto’s neck, now being face to face.

“Please forgive me, I didn’t mean to upset you.” She whispers seductively, slowly moving her face forward, “Shall I make it up to you?”

Makoto is now screaming in her head, face aflame, tail flailing behind her. In her head she knows that she’d have no problem breaking out of the reptile’s embrace, but in that moment the Princess’ hold feels overpowering and unbreakable. The princess stops just a breath away from Makoto’s lips, looking into her eyes as if asking for permission; clear with her intentions, but leaving whether something happens or not very intentionally in the beastman’s hands.

Makoto is at a standstill: on one hand, there are several reasons not to continue. Its unprofessional, its somewhat questionable ethics wise, it’s...it’s... it’s a freaking kobold! An uncomfortably voluptuous one sure, but a kobold all the same! She’s not even sure she can be attracted to reptiles (though recent events have definitely put that into question)! There are so many reasons to just stop this all right now, and yet…

Looking into the princess’ eyes, Makoto can’t ignore the concern, passion, and just overwhelming affection she holds. Sure she could just be thankful for being rescued, but when the squirrel tries to think back on when anyone ever looked at her this way, her mind comes up blank. Here, in this cave, in the middle of a tundra, in the middle of nowhere , there’s nothing but a fire and each other to keep warm; should the fact that this someone is a kobold really be such a limiting thing? She’s never liked limiting herself, afterall.

With a silent groan of dismissal and a simple “Aw what the fuck, why not?” she closes the distance between their faces.

And then they fuck.

There. There’s your underboob crossover. Happy now?
