Work Text:
Nancy trusted Robin. She would trust the girl with her life, seeing as how they have always survived all the chaos thrown at them. So yes, no question in the trust she has in Robin.
But it does annoy her when Robin was so damn oblivious to everyone flirting with her. Specifically, this girl who has been talking to Robin for way too long, her hand always grazing Robin’s shoulder and letting out an obnoxious giggle.
Honestly, just pick a movie and leave. Jesus christ.
Nancy rolled her eyes when this bimbo threw her head back laughing at something Robin said. Yes, she knew Robin was funny. She was beautiful, smart, and charming with that awkward attractive smile. But that didn’t mean you could just throw yourself at her.
Have some dignity.
Nancy let out an annoyed breath. Someone cleared their throat, and Nancy looked to her left to see Steve staring at her in amusement, eyebrow raised teasingly.
“You’re going to kill her with your goddamn death stare. Might as well take out your gun.”
Nancy rolled her eyes.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Yeah, you do Nance. Never took you as the jealous type.”
“I am not jealous!”
Steve scoffed. “Nancy, you have been burning a hole in her head for the past fifteen minutes! And you look like you want to cut off her hand whenever she so much touched Robin!”
“You’re seeing things.” Nancy huffed. Her eyes glanced back at Robin, admiring her cute crooked smile. Though her face soured when the girl obviously said something to make Robin blush. Something tugged at her stomach at the sight, and she swallowed back a bitter growl.
“Fine. I’m a bit jealous.”
“A bit?”
“Shut up. I mean, how long do you need to pick a damn movie! And she really doesn’t need to be touching Robin that much for a recommendation.”
Steve cackled in amusement.
“Nancy, just go up to them. I’m sure Robin would appreciate your company. I doubt she even knows the girl is flirting with her. She probably thought, ‘finally someone actually likes movies and lets me talk about them’.”
Nancy scowled. “I listen to her talk about movies.” She grumbled.
She ignored Steve’s amused expression and marched towards them. Robin caught her eyes and her face lit up.
Ok, that was adorable. And it did soften the angry green creature in her. She gave her a soft smile and stood next to Robin.
“Hi Robbie.”
“Nance, hey! I was just telling her about ‘Back to the Future’. Have you ever seen it? The last time I watched it was with Steve when the Russi—I mean, at the theater!” Robin chuckled nervously.
Nancy shook her head fondly at her slip up.
“I haven’t seen it, no. Do you want to watch it together?”
Robin’s eyes sparkled. “Yes, totally! It’ll be so fun!” She grinned at Nancy, and she felt her jealousy melt. What a precious human being, Robin Buckley is.
A cleared throat caught back her attention and she immediately scowled at the girl. Safe to say this stranger was not amused at her interruption. Good.
“So, Robin, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime. We can watch movies and stuff.” The girl bit her lips, and it completely flew over Robin’s head. Of course.
“Oh, that’d be—”
“Sorry, she’s going to be kind of busy.” Nancy cut off, her hands coming to grip Robin’s arm. She saw Robin subtly blush at the action and pride filled her chest.
“I am?”
“Yes, with me.”
The stranger scoffed, rolling her eyes before muttering, “Whatever.” The girl walked away but not without throwing Nancy a final glare. Nancy huffed in annoyance. What a bitch.
Robin looked at her with a confused puppy face, her head tilted to the side and Nancy had to physically hold back a squeal.
“What was that about? Did I say something wrong? Shit, I didn’t insult her, did I? I don’t want to make enemies—”
“Robin, relax. It wasn’t you. She was probably not in a very good mood.” Nancy shrugged.
“But we were talking just fine earlier?” Robin scrunched her face cutely and Nancy giggled at her. Robin’s face soften at her laugh.
“Just don’t think too much about it. So, how’s tonight?”
“Tonight what?”
“Movie night? With me?” Nancy bit her lip, her heart bursting when Robin’s eyes glanced down on her lips. “Just us.”
Robin flushed with a grin, running a hand through her hair.
“o—oh, yes! Yes, tonight works. I get off at—”
“7, I know. I’ll see you at my place, ok?”
“Yeah, sure Nance.” Robin grinned. “Can’t wait.”
