Steve finds himself honestly engrossed in the movie playing in front of him. When Robin had brought “The Outsiders” up to the counter before they closed up the store, he’d been skeptical about it. He’d seen it once in theaters when Carol dragged him and Tommy to it and he didn’t exactly enjoy it..
But sitting here on his couch now, giving it a second chance, he finds he *really* enjoys it. When he’d first saw it, he thought it was just some dumbass girls movie, made for girls to ogle at the pretty boys on screen. He hated every second of it.
Probably mostly because he couldn’t stop thinking about how fucking good Kurt Russell looked in those blue jeans and his hair slicked back like it was. He walked out of that theater with a whole crisis on his hands.
Now, however, Steve happily and openly stares at the men on screen with little to no shame. It’s been several years since then, and the only people around him are his very closest friends. He has nothing to worry about.
He, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, and Eddie are all in Steve’s living room. Nancy is sat between Robin and Jonathan on the bigger couch while Steve and Eddie take up the loveseat near by.
Speaking off…
Steve feels something touch his stomach; slender fingers poking into his belly to get his attention. He looks down to see Eddie staring up at him from where he lays on the cushion beside Steve, his back on the seat and his head pillowed in Steve’s lap and his legs thrown over the arm of the loveseat. Eddie has his mouth open wide and he points. Steve blows a sigh like laugh out of his nose.
There’s a bowl of cherries on the table beside them and Steve’s been snacking on them through out the movie. He grabs one from the bowl and lowers it down into Eddie’s mouth who bites the fruit from the stem.
Eddie gives him an appreciative nod as Steve goes back to watching the movie, flicking the stem onto the table with the rest. He then proceeds to forget about it for half a minute before he realizes something…
“Eds.” Steve whispers as he looks down to his friend,
“Hmm?”
“Where’s the pit?”
“What pit?” Eddie asks, not having looked away from the tv since he’d gone back to watching the movie.
“The pit. The cherry pit. The one that I just gave you.” Steve answers, unable to keep his voice as soft and drawing the attention of the others a bit.
“Oh. I ate it.”
“… You ate the pit.”
“Yeah. I didn’t want to get up.. so. I swallowed it.”
Steve just.. stares down at Eddie for a moment. “You’re so fucking weird, man.” He sighs, finally going back to the movie once more.
“Hey, I’ve swallowed worse.” Eddie says with a snorted laugh. Nancy groans while Robin and Jonathan laugh, making Eddie look back at them, “What?! It’s true! Ain’t that right, babyg-“
Steve slaps a hand over Eddie’s mouth when he turns his head to smirk up at Steve. “Shut up! Watch the fucking movie.” He says, his cheeks turning cherry red. When he glances down again, he sees Eddie looking up at him still.. his expression… unreadable. It makes Steve swallow hard and look away again.
Eddie Munson is going to fuckin’ kill Steve Harrington.. Even if he is a fucking weirdo who eats cherry pits.
