Making Things Right

Summary:

They say a person is dangerous when they have nothing left to lose. When they see that the person they love the most die in front of them. That's what happened to Valorant Protocol's very own Viper and Reyna.

Or atleast in the future.

Read as how, one of Raze and Killjoy's greatest invention went back in time to stop the very event that started the war between Radiants and Non-Radiants. Between Enemy and Enemy. Between Friend and Friend.

Between Viper and Reyna.

Notes:

Hey this isn't really accurate with the lore so yeah.

3rd Person Point of View

People always say that the when a person has nothing left to lose, that's when they are the most dangerous. But people also forget that that's when they're most Vulnerable. When their mind is clouded with so much hate and revenge that they can't think of anything else besides anger.

Many Years after the First Light. After the Valorant Protocol. After it's Fall. War had erupted around the world. Humanity, or Non-Radiants had started to see Radiants as threat. And so, with the help of Kingdom, the weapons they invented were perfect to stop Radiants. It was powerful enough to match upon their powers.

As soon as the order of Radiant Extinction was announced, the Valorant Protocol had started to scatter their agents across the world. Although it bought them some time, it was still not enough to keep them safe. One by one the agent were hunted down. Every one last of them was ordered to be killed. Even the Non-Radiants, the authorities thought that with their knowledge, they can still be dangerous.

And so, for one final effort. One final chance to save and change the future. The remaining agents scattered around the world had met up one last time to initiate their final mission.

"So what's the plan?" Neon asked. Finally arriving at their meeting place. They were at the Valorant Protocol. Even though it was the first one to be invaded by the government and their soldiers, it was later abandoned after getting all the necessary resources, information and data that they had needed.

"Neon! I'm so glad you're alive!" It was Raze, the Brazilian hugged her fellow duelist tightly. Even if they had a way to communicate each other, they never used it once. The chances of getting found through satellites would increase. The only time that they had used it was to meet here where they currently were.

"I missed you too." Neon returned the hug. How she missed the simpler times when they only need to face their Mirror selves and not the whole world. The duelist looked around and saw a few familiar faces.

"Brimstone! Omen! Cypher! Reyna! Chamber.....? And here I thought that I would never be relieved to see your face." Neon had gave a warm smile towards her old friends. Though there were so little of them. Was she early or......

"Well that's everyone. Let's go-" Brimstone spoke up but was instantly cut off by Neon.

"WAIT! Wh-What do you mean everyone?! Half of us aren't even here yet!" Neon couldn't accept the fact that this was all that's left of them. Two years. It has just been two years. There's no way right....?

"Neon. I'm sorry kid, but you were the only ones who responded when I contacted you all." Brimstone explained, getting a disbelief looked from The duelist.

"He is right. I try to gather as much info as I can with everyone during our concealment. And this is what's left." Cypher was the one who spoke up this time. The Morocco had searched every information he could about his friends. But alas, it only pains him every time he had to add anything on his folder.

"Here." Cypher handed Neon the folder he was keeping inside his trench coat. He and the rest circled around the Duelist to see what was inside the folder.

"What the......" Neon opened the folder and her eyes widened along with the rest after seeing the first page.

PAGE 1

1ST RADIANT HUNTED DOWN AND KILLED. CODENAME: PHOENIX

"After a hard fought battle against the British Agent named, Phoenix in London. The individual was finally killed after being gunned down by the weapons Kingdom had made. Which successfully shows the effectiveness of the mew weapons."

"This weapon. It even prevented Phoenix from resurrecting....." Cypher explained. It made everyone's heart skipped a beat, even Reyna. Knowing how powerful Phoenix's power was, he was still killed regardless.

PAGE 2
ANOTHER AGENT HUNTED DOWN IN RUSSIA. CODENAME: SOVA

"Though the weapons showed successful results in the first operation, authorities and soldiers had to request back up after waves of energy blast were fired upon them.

The Russian Agent soon was cornered after the attempt of escaping. Authorities tried to capture the agent on the attempt of getting information, but was soon killed after resisting."

"Rest well." Brimstone muttered under his breath. He had hoped Sova was one of the few that would answer but his chest felt heavy after hearing from Cypher that the Russian had already been executed.

PAGE 3
BATTLE TOOK PLACE AMONG THE SKIES AS ANOTHER AGENT WAS FOUND IN KOREA . CODENAME: JETT

"Just like the last operation, authorities again were surprised to see yet another bizarre power. Said Agent was describe to be hovering in the skies.

Fighter Jets equipped with Kingdom Weapons were utilize in taking down the Korean Agent. Agent Codename: Jett was shot between the chest and fell in the sea. Body was retrieve after a few days, confirming the kill."

"That idiot.....! I-I told her to not take the fight in the air!" Tears could be seen flowing from Raze's eyes. The Brazilian had to sit down, thinking how one of her best friends had die.

PAGE 4
TWO AGENTS FOUND IN THE AMAZON RAINFOREST! CODENAME: SKYE AND YORU

"While one had the powers to control the animals in the forest, the other had powers to fool his enemies. While running through the trees, Agent Codename: Skye was shot in the head by a sniper.

This allowed the soldiers to surround Agent Codename: Yoru while the said agent was grieving from the sudden death of his ally. Without trying to escape, Agent Yoru accepted death while hugging Agent Skye."

"Atleast they had each other." Reyna said. If she could be the one to return and stop herself from killing that Genia, she would gladly do so. Maybe things wouldn't have turned like this. Unfortunately, she couldn't.

"I can't read this anymore." Neon shoved the folder towards Omen. She couldn't handle reading the deaths of her friends. But Omen who had no sould or feelings, kept on reading.

PAGE 5
GHANAIAN AGENT AMBUSHED. CODENAME: ASTRA.

"After authorities have received word that another Agent was hiding in Ghana, soldiers were immediately deployed to hunt them down.

The Agent, Codename Astra was killed in a small village after setting up a trap that destroyed the whole place."

"HOW DARE THEY INVOLVE INNOCENT PEOPLE!" Neon yelled. Are the government that desperate to kill them off? To the point that they involve other people.

"Let's stop there." Brimstone suddenly spoke up. Everyone turned their heads towards the old agent. They had almost forgotten why they were here.

"Listen, we can keep reading this folder and mourn for comrades deaths. Or we can actually do something about it?" Brimstone gave everyone a stern look. He was right, now wasn't the time to mourn for their deaths. They were running out of time.

"What's the plan?" Neon asked. Everyone turned their attention towards Brimstone as the old Agent didn't just call them here to gather and have a chat.

"It's risky. But we don't have any choice left. I already informed Raze about this. So what do you think Raze? Is it possible?" Almost everyone was confused on where the plan was headed, but regardless they wanted to hear the Duelist speak first.

"To be honest I don't know. But Killjoy always said that it will work. And she's never wrong about this kind of stuff." Raze answered making the rest continue having their questioned look.

"Ho-Hold on, Monsieur Brimstone! What exactly is possible?" Chamber asked, not really following on what is about to happen.

"Gather around and listen carefully. I'll only explain once as that's how much time we have left. I don't think Fade can hold out any longer." Brimstone said, finally facing everyone.

"I'm sorry? Time left? Fade? She's here?" These were the question Neon asked rapidly one after the other. But her biggest question was why Fade wasn't with them if she was still alive.

"Yes. And to tell you all the truth, none of us will be making it out here alive. Well except for one of us." Brimstone dropped the ball on them. A few had mixed emotions about it, some were still confused, while others were just accepting it.

"Brimstone, what do you mean? You saying all of us are going to die?" Omen asked.

"Yes." Brimstone answered without a hesitation. They all deserve to know the truth, and the truth is they were going to die. This was it.

"I see.... So, what exactly will we be doing before we die?" Chamber asked, accepting reality. For him, he lived a good life. Many regrets, but still would do it all again to be in the exact same spot once again with his fellow agents.

"Buy time in order to send KAY/O back in time to prevent all of this."

Everyone was silent at first, mainly because they didn't think time travel was possible. But here they were, giving their life in order to send someone back in the past.

"Let's say it's possible. But how exactly are we going to send KAY/O back? Didn't he die back then?" Cypher asked. It was true, KAY/O was one of the first Agents to be killed along with Breach after the fight between Reyna and Viper.

"Yup! But before it did, me and Killjoy made a software that recorded everything KAY/O had seen and done six months before everything went to shit. Back up files to be exact and I happened to save it before leaving. Here!" Raze spoke up. The Duelist already knew the plan, it was just by luck that she brought the USB with her. The initial plan was just to send back a message to past KAY/O through the software they made.

"Killjoy designed this. It was when things were started to fire up, six months to be exact. So if we just go ahead and plug in this inside KAY/O's system, it will be enough to send the information back to the past. Though it still confuses me how that works, but Killjoy did make it, so for me it's worth the shot." Raze explained.

"Any questions? Reyna, how about you? You seem awfully quiet." Brimstone called the Mexican Agent. Indeed she was quieter than she usually is. But the Empress lifted a finger and shushed the Older Agent.

"Quiet. I sense them. They're here. She's here." Reyna said narrowing her eyes towards the entrance. The rest then heard subtle footsteps, but soon turned louder. Telling them that whoever was coming, they didn't come alone.

"Wait who's here!?" Neon panicked a bit. The whole Time traveling thing was still processing with her.

"When I contacted you all, I knew our location would get exposed. So I had Fade buy time for us, but I guess that's all she was able to give." Brimstone explained.

"Brimstone! Where's KAY/O's head?!" Raze yelled. They could here foot soldiers surrounding the building. Omen, Cypher and Reyna started pulling out their classic guns as that's the only thing they had.

"Killjoy's Room. Goodluck kid." Brimstone answered, pulling out his own classic gun. The Old had planned this while they were on the run. While visiting this abandoned place, he made sure that KAY/O's head would always be at Killjoy's room because he knew that she would hesitate a bit to go in there.

"I-I WON'T FAIL. Vejo você na próxima vida!" Raze had a few tears as she ran. Getting to Killjoy's room was the only thing she needed to worry. That until the ceiling above her exploded.

"WATCH OUT!" Neon yelled as troops of soldier entered from the roof top. All the while at the entrance another explosion happened, leaving a huge whole for the soldiers to enter.

"Shadows traveling! Go! We'll hold them off!" Omen used the powers he had and gave Raze a clear path. The Brazilian had fortunately dodge the debris while only sustainaing a few scratches.

"FIRE!"

Neon and Reyna quickly took cover at nearest debris. Firing back wasn't an option because they would only get shot right way. Omen and Cypher also hid behind cover as they fired their guns at them. Chamber on the other hand took the opportunity to set up traps to not let the soldiers catch up to Raze.

The Sentinel used his own gun to fire 8 bullets at the many soldiers that were hovering above them using a rope. Reyna at Neon did the same. If they don't take out those above them first, then they would be sitting prey.

"Shit! Shit! Run!" Neon took off as soon as the soldiers above started firing.

"ARGH!" Cypher soon got shot in the shoulder as there were far to many enemies around them.

"Blind them!" Reyna used of her skills to blind the enemies, buying enough time for her to shoot down the enemies.

"HERE WE GO!" Neon charged straight towards the enemies at the door to cover the others while the take down the ones above.

"THEY ARE SO DEAD!" Chamber helped Neon as he shot any soldier who was far too close at the duelist.

"SHOOT THEM!" One of the soldiers yelled before getting shot between the eyes by Reyna. It was an all out war between the two groups, at first sight you'll think that the few agent would be able to win. But as you look closer you'll know that the numbers will be far too many even for them.

"Blinding!" Omen took away the vision of some soldiers but before he could even start shooting again, a bullet went straight pass his chest.

"Ugh...." The Controller fell to his knees before getting shot again at every direction. "NO! OMEN!" Neon yelled as her comrade fell down while still getting shot. Unfortunately, Neon was too focused at her fallen friend that she didn't see a number of soldiers pointing their gun at her.

"Neon, look out!" Chamber quickly placed his teleporter in front of Neon and the Sentinel instantly appeared in front of the duelist. The Filipino Agent's eyes widened as a rain of bullets was fired at them hitting the Sentinel that had sacrificed himself for her.

"Chamber!" Neon watched as Chamber coughed out blood. The French Agent tried to take a step forward before falling on to his back.

"It...was a....g-good....run..." Chamber was able to mutter before his eyes closed and head falling at the side. Neon felt tears ran down her face, she was about to get closer towards Chamber before getting pulled back by Brimstone.

"Get it together! We need to hold out as much as we can!" Brimstone yelled, pulling Neon back to cover. He could see the terrified look the Duelist was making. Who wouldn't have that look? In the face of death, fear wasn't something you can just brush off.

"Bri-Brimstone!" It was Cypher. The Morocco was crawling beside them. He had a lot of gunshot wound. But the most critical among them were the bullet that penetrated his side. Cypher soon fell down just beside them, having a hard time breathing.

"Je n'ai plus de munitions! Fuck!" Reyna yelled before hiding beside them as well, she was shot in the stomach. Thankfully she was able to take down the last soldier that was above them. Leaving only the ones at entrance.

"You think Raze made it....?" Neon asked. Brimstone didn't know what to answer. Two of his remaining ally were bleeding out while the other couldn't quite move.

"She has to!" Reyna spoke up, trying hard to stand up

"Wait, Reyna don-!" Neon tried to stop the Mexican from standing up. But before she could even pull her down, the duelist was shot in the head as soon as her forehead went out of cover. Reyna's eyes widened as Neon dropped down to her knees and fell forward towards her. She quickly went back to cover to catch her body, ignoring the pain on her stomach.

"Neon.... Neon!" Reyna yelled, it has been awhile since she felt like this. Two years. It had been two years since she watched her beloved die right in front of her. And now she was relieving it again. The young agent was close to her, they had a mentor and apprentice relationship. Student and Teacher. Blood slowly flowed from the duelist head. Reyna placed her fingers on top of Neon's eyes to close them before laying her down.

"You know. I always wanted us to die before them. The younger ones. Why did it have to be like this.....?" Brimstone spoke. Bullets went passed them as the soldiers slowly moved closer.

"Nora......" The two moved their attention towards Cypher who suddenly stopped breathing. Brimstone quickly looked for a pulse but couldn't find any.

Reyna and Brimstone waited behind cover. Waited for their deaths to come. But as soon as the soldiers were about to get them, a voice ordered them to halt.

"Stop. Lower your weapons."

Brimstone and Reyna knew that voice. That cold and sinister voice. The two stood up, Brimstone supporting Reyna. But the latter refused the help once she was completely up. There they met eyes with Valorant Protocol's former 3rd in Command.

"Viper."

Brimstone hadn't said her name for quite a while now. If only things hadn't turned out like this. Would Killjoy be standing with them back here in the Protocol?

"Brimstone. I see you kept the bitch alive." Viper's tone had a rather harsh ring to it. Before her stood the one who had killed her beloved. Who had killed the only happiness that she found in this shitty world.

"Viper. If it still means anything, I'm sorry for killing Killj-!"

"DON'T YOU DARE SAY HER NAME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!" Viper bursted. That very day haunted her every night. The day she couldn't protect her. The day that she had lost her. Brimstone was about to say something else when Viper suddenly raised her Sheriff gun towards Reyna's heart. Without hesitation, she pulled the trigger. The Empress eyes widened and blood started to pour out from her mouth.

Viper again without warning, pointed this time at her face and shot a bullet straight at her right eye. The Mexican Agent soon fell down lifeless. As if that wasn't enough, the former Chemist continued to shoot at the lifeless body until she ran out of ammo.

"FUCK! Why....? WHY DIDN'T IT DO SHIT!?" Viper gripped Brimstone's clothes tightly while shouting at him. The older agent could see tear forming from her eyes.

"It didn't feel good, did it?" Brimstone placed a hand on Viper's shoulder. Though it wasn't much, it did made her lose her grip from him. Viper backed a inches away before speaking up once again.

"I know your plans. So tell me, where." Viper demanded an answer, to put an end to all of this. She knew deep down in heart that Killjoy wouldn't have approved of this. But it was far too late, now she just wanted to end things.

"You already know." Brimstone gave a vague answer but it was enough for Viper to realize where it actually is. Curse this old man for continuing to give her a hard time. Viper moved pass Brimstone, she held up a hand while walking. The Controller didn't look once at the direction to where Viper was headed, but only focused at the soldiers in front of him. Just as Viper was far enough, she closed her hand and without a moment to waste, gun shots were heard behind her.

"Stupid old man....."

Viper who was now in front of Killjoy's room, took a deep breath. How long has it been since she last came here. Since she last felt home.

Since the electricity still worked, Viper pressed the code needed to enter the room. Once she did, the large metal door opened and showed Raze sitting on the bead with KAY/O's head.

"You're too late. I'm already done." Raze started, not once moving her eyes away from KAY/O's head. Viper looked around and felt a slight bit of nostalgia. This was where Killjoy had actually confess to her.

"Good." Viper replied, it was best that their plan worked. Best that they would make things different from what they were now. Best that they would be able to save her. But, reality was something she couldn't escape. The reality that she can't let any of them escape. The reality that in this timeline, orders aren't meant to be broken.

Viper raised her Sheriff gun towards Raze, but the Brazilian neither resisted nor fought back. She had done her part, all that was left now was to rest. It had been an hectic two year, a vacation would be a good thing. A permanent vacation to be exact.

"I hope your plan works."

With that Viper pulled the trigger and the duelist fell on to the bed. The former Chemist sighed and sat at the empty chair beside the desk where Killjoy used to work. On the desk many stuff could be found, but the very thing that took Viper's attention was a picture frame of her and Killjoy.

"This better work....."

3rd Person Point of View

2 years and 6 months ago....

"Like I said, Brimstone should agree with my request that-"

"What? You should lead the next mission? I'm a robot and I find that funny."

In the training grounds, Phoenix and KAY/O were having an argument on whether who was going to lead the next mission. Brimstone had already appointed Killjoy to be the leader, but Phoenix had other things in mind when they found out that the mission was near a volcano.

"All I'm saying is that since it's about fire, the one with the fire power should take the lead, yeah?" Phoenix continued to reason and had even shown his flames with a not very attractive smile. In which the robot, KAY/O, completely disagree.

"Ugh! What's with that ugly face?" Just as the two were arguing once again, a certain wind agent with the ability to control.... well the wind had suddenly appeared along with the smartest person in Germany.

"Ugly!? I'll have you know Jett that this is celebrity material!" Phoenix took pride with his look, always trying to be the cool one among all the agents. Unfortunately, almost all the agents disagree with the looks he always took pride on.

"Ja! I believe I saw a movie of yours once! If I remember correctly it's name was Frankenstein?" Killjoy joined in on the teasing. She was met by a very disbelief look from the Male duelist while Jett beside her was laughing her butt off.

"Seriously, none of you have taste." Phoenix said with tired look. Why didn't anyone appreciate how handsome he actually is? It makes him sometimes wonder if he really is ugly.....? NAH, impossible.

"I think it's-!" Just as KAY/O was about to explain something, he felt his head fry up. Overheating to the point in which smoke could be seen coming out. His body soon started to shake as if he was out of control.

"KAY/O? You alright mate?" Phoenix asked. Confused on what was happening to his friend. Killjoy and Jett had the same worried look when KAY/O had slowly backed away from them.

"M-M-M-M-OVE A-A-A-WAYYYY!!" The Initiator's voice glitched as a lot of numbers had suddenly appeared on his face. Slowly it showed files being downloaded, and it was getting installed fast.

"Woah! What's happening with KAY/O?" Jett pulled out her knives in case something bad might happen. Killjoy on the other hand looked closely to what was showing on his face.

"I-I-I-I-I AM REMEBER-ER-ERING! 2 YEARS OF FILES BEING DOWNLOADED! 100% COMPLETED! AUTOMATIC RESTART WILL BE MADE!" Soon KAY/O's body stopped shaking and small bolts of lighting struck his body. The Robot fell to it's knees as if it had just turned off.

Killed, Phoenix and Jett stared at their friend, waiting to see if anything else were to happen. The trio waited for about five minutes before the Initiator had suddenly gone up and acted as if it was in gun a fight.

"TAKE COVER! FIRE! FIRE! Reyna! Save her! Save her! RUN! RUN! NEVER! Viper! Stop! Stop!" KAY/O acted like he was holding a gun and started firing everywhere while repeatedly shouting those words.

"Yo! KAY/O calm down! We're not in a fight!" Phoenix raised his hands to show that everything was fine and nothing bad was going to happen.

The Robot stopped for a moment and looked everywhere before receiving a sudden shock that went through his whole body and system. Finally KAY/O returned to his normal self. The trio watched as the Initiator once again looked around. They didn't know but all three of them couldn't tell why KAY/O stared everywhere with a sad and yet happy emotion. They had never seen him show emotion since it was currently impossible. He was a robot. And yet here he is looking sad and happy at the same time.

"Hey KAY/O, you back to normal? What the heck happened to you?" Jett asked, getting the robot's attention but was only met with a confusing answer.

"I'm back......"

The three shared the same confused face with one another before trying to understand what he had meant. Although both duelist were fully bewildered and confused, Killjoy was actually understanding the situation a bit. However, the German wanted first to confirm if she was truly right by observing.

"Where is Brimstone? I need to tell him something?" KAY/O had a sense of urgency in his voice. He was sure that he was back, all the memories, data and files that he received were all 2 years and 6 months ahead. He recalls getting dismantled by Reyna, but thanks to Raze he had memories of everything that had happened before that.

"Now hold on a minute! We first need to get you check! You're literally smoking!" Phoenix pointed at the Robot's body. There was a few smoke because of the shock and sparks, but it was something that could wait. There were more important things in hand.

"Yeah! What if you get messed up again like earlier?!" Jett added.

"It can wait. Brimstone, where is he?" KAY/O once again asked. Phoenix and Jett were about to ignore his question once again by forcing him to take a time to breathe before Killjoy had intercepted. Though it wasn't like that he could actually breathe.

"I'll take you to Brim! Ja?" Killjoy said holding the his shoulder while pushing him to the direction where Brimstone was at the moment.

"Really? You're just gonna ignore that sudden robot seizure?!" Jett questioned the Techie.

"Don't worry I got this under control! Look for Raze! Tell her to find us!" Killjoy yelled pushing the Initiator quickly away from the two who were sighing.

"Alright KAY/O, tell me the truth, you're from the future aren't you?" Killjoy whispered getting straight to the point while they walk quickly towards the Debriefing room.

The Robot moved his gaze towards the German with disbelief as he didn't think that even Killjoy would be able to catch on quick. But his surprised gaze was enough for the German to know that he was questioning her on how she knew.

"What? Surprised I knew? Not really hard to tell after hearing those things earlier." Killjoy explained. KAY/O was about to ask a question when suddenly a familiar Mexican Duelist and Chinese Healer had come up.

"KAY/O! What happened to you?" Sage with a worried tone checking the burn part of the Initiator. Even Reyna was intrigued on what had happened to him, but soon turned sour when she saw Killjoy.

"It's fine. We'll fix it later. Is Brimstone at the debriefing room?" Killjoy also wanted to rush things, in which KAY/O was thankful for. Sage was reluctant at first to answer, but quickly gave in after realizing that Reyna was starting to get impatient.

"Yes. He's with Fade. Do knock before entering, they're talking about something important." Sage warned the two before leaving with Reyna.

"Let's go!" Killjoy immediately pulled KAY/O to run towards the Debriefing room, failing to recognize a cold gaze staring at them from afar.

__________________________

"We can lure the enemies here at B. Fortunately we won't be taking a risk in entering since I can just-!"

Fade and Brimstone were talking about strategies for their upcoming Mission when they suddenly received a large number of loud knocks from the door. Brimstone sighed as be exactly who it was.

The Old Agent got up from his seat to open the door. "How many times do I have to tell you Killjoy? You can't just barge-!" Without being able to finish his sentence, Killjoy bursted inside with KAY/O behind her back. The German quickly locked the door behind him. Ignoring the fact that she had just pushed Brimstone back and not to mention cut him off.

"In..... What's this about?" Brimstone wasn't particularly in the mood, but he asked regardless after seeing KAY/O behind her. The Robot never goes inside the Debriefing room unless an important information came up. So whatever they were about to say it was absolutely something important.

"Brimstone don't freak out! And hear us out, ja?" Brimstone didn't like where this was going. The last time Killjoy used that phrase, they had to rebuild the Mess Hall since the German had accidentally set off a bomb.

"Should I step out....?" Fade raised her voice, obvious that they didn't notice her when they barged in. Although her job was about collecting information, this was something she wanted to have permission first. Surprisingly. From the data she had collected using her effective methods she had noted that Brimstone was somewhat a parent figure for Killjoy. So this was probably a family important kind of thing. Or she overthink it after using her past experiences with these kinds of situation.

"Oh.... Fade! Schön dich zu sehen! No need to step out, we may actually need your help on this one." Killjoy said, moving her attention back to Brimstone while the female initiator laid back to her seat after getting an approval.

"As I was saying Brim, something big has happened! Raze and I's invention work! You know, the one with-!"

"The Time Traveling..... So things went shit KAY/O?" Brimstone finished Killjoy's sentenced. He knew something bad had happened after hearing that phrase from the German.

"Time Traveling? Really? Expect me to believe that you invented Time Travelling with that Tehlikeli bomb expert?" Fade also interrupting. She had approval right? Might as well get in on this conversation and sell some of it to Cypher.

"Fade. We have an Agent who controls the wind. An Agent who can make clones of himself and teleport by the way. An Agent that's made from darkness itself. An Agent who can literally bring people back from the dead. I think Time Travelling isn't something surprising, ja?" Killjoy replied, immediately changing Fade's view of things.

"I approved of that Time Travelling thing incase a world threat level would rise. Don't tell me we lost to those phonies." Brimstone will not accept defeat from those Mirror Agents. It might be childish but they were just starting.

"Not with Mirror Earth. We made allies with them." KAY/O tried to clear that misunderstanding but unexpectedly just made a new problem.

"Wait. We made friends with them? But I wanted to try killing my other self!" Killjoy yelled, getting a disturb look from the three agents around her. The German cleared her throat from her poor choices of words and began to explain.

"I meant I wanted to fight them. You know! Know if they really are-! Okay not my best sentence, but I don't hate myself! I truly love myself to the point that I won't kill myself, so Brim don't take it the wrong way because-!"

"We get it! Now KAY/O, what were you about to say?" Brimstone raising his voice, stopping Killjoy from her habit of explaining too hard.

"2 years and 6 months from now. Almost all the Valorant Agents will get hunted and killed." KAYO started, earning slight shock reaction from the three agents. Brimstone pressing his lips harder, Killjoy eyes widening and Fade sitting up properly.

"You said almost. I believe you're the only one left?" Brimstone guessing, but only to fail right away.

"Unfortunately, I am one of the few who had died right away. I only remember almost everything thanks to Raze." KAY/O explained.

"Why wasn't I included? I mean I literally thought the whole thing through!" Killjoy a bit annoyed of not getting the recognition she had wanted. She thanks Raze very much on building it with her, but in terms of blueprints, she made it on her own.

"Raze was the one who sent my memories here at the past." KAY/O clarify, hoping it was enough to explain what he had meant.

"WHAT?! But I call dibs on being the one to do it! No fair...." Killjoy pouted. She wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. If things went downhill again, then she would be the one teleporting someone to the past.

"You wouldn't be able to do it. You were absent at that time." KAY/O said, getting a raised eyebrow from Brimstone and Fade. He didn't mean what they were thinking right?

"What could be more important than sending someone to the past?" Killjoy asked, couldn't believe that her future self was tardy enough to skip such an amazing opportunity.

"Being dead." KAY/O finally answered. He was hoping not to actually tell each agent how they died but he was starting to think it would make things more complicated than it is.

"What.....? I died....?" Killjoy was lost for words. She had actually thought that she would be able to survive the things the Initiator had said. Other than the German, another person didn't take it too kindly to hear his somewhat daughter get killed.

"How did she die?!" Brimstone gripped KAY/O's shoulders. Whatever answer he gets, he would stop it from happening. Things can't turn towards that direction. Ain't no way his losing her.

"Killjoy will be the root of everything. She was or will be killed by Reyna in front of Viper." KAY/O answered, getting surprised look from Brimstone and Killjoy. Fade on the other hand stayed silent.

"Reyna? Bullshit! Why?" Brimstone asked, he didn't want to believe what he was hearing. This was too much to handle on a Monday.

"Because she found out the Truth." KAY/O answered, though Brimstone and Killjoy weren't appreciating the short answers. As for Fade, she was enjoying this real life drama.

"The truth? What Truth?" Killjoy didn't know anything related to that nor could she think of anything close to that. They needed to find out what Reyna had learned to know why everything went to shit in the future.

"Reyna found out how her lit......" Just as KAY/O was about to tell them, the robot suddenly shut down. Killjoy, Brimstone and Fade quickly went towards the Robot to check if they could turn the robot back on. Unfortunately when the German pressed the switch a slight spark happened. Avoiding the robot to breakdown any longer, Brimstone stopped Killjoy from doing anything else.

"What shitty timing....." Brimstone sighed, massaging his forehead. "Atleast we know something. For now, Killjoy I want you to avoid Reyna for the time being. I'll make it so that you won't have any missions with her. I'll announce this later-!"

"Wait! We can't just tell them! Especially Reyna! What if we say something wrong and it still triggers it? I for one believe we shouldn't tell everybody, just a few would be good." Killjoy suggested, cutting off Brimstone. The Controller wasn't a fan of the idea to be honest.

"No. If we want to fix this right away. We must let them know." Brimstone and Killjoy suddenly had a debate about what to do. Neither of them were wrong, but they had to think of a much better way.

"Actually.... Killjoy's right. We shouldn't tell them right away. What? You plan on going out there announcing Hey big news KAY/O from the future came and told us Reyna killed Killjoy that made everything went to shit and also all of died. Not really the best option." Fade with a sarcastic tone, earning a satisfied look from Killjoy.

"Fine. But we have to tell them eventually, we just need get KAY/O fixed up. After that, depending on what Reyna finds out, we tell them." Brimstone suggested but came out more of an order. But the German had no problems with that.

"Also, anyone noticed how KAY/O said that Killjoy dies in front of Viper? You think she's involve?" Fade asked, recalling the conversation they just had.

"Hmm.... Viper and I are in good terms. I doubt she's involve. Probably just a specific information on how I die. Still I can't believe I died! Me! Of all people! Personally, I thought Phoenix would die first." Killjoy complained as she slowly opened the door.

"I'll fix KAY/O later, just bring him in my workshop later Brim." Killjoy added before leaving and shutting the door behind her.

"What a day. Let's continue on that plan now." Brimstone said, returning to his seat. He'll worry about the future later, for now he had problems regarding the present.

Back in the future

"Good work Viper. Although it is unfortunate that they managed to bring someone back in the past. Looking at the surrounding, it seems nothing major has yet changed. And so we must keep it that way. I'll be sending a few troops to finish the job." A man in a lab coat said. They were at the Valorant Protocol, collecting the bodies of the fallen soldiers and Agents.

Viper watched as her former comrades dead bodies were getting carried towards a truck. Why did things come to this? She truly wished their plan works, even if she's the one who tried stopping them.

"I want to go back as well. Let me take command." Viper spoke. If she wanted things to really work, she would need to do it herself. Taking out Reyna from the get go would ensure the safety of Killjoy, preventing everything here to happen.

"Well since you insist, I'll take your offer on that. But to avoid getting caught, I recommend you to wear a disguise and a voice changer will suffice. Knowing your past colleagues, they would immediately recognize you. So we'll have a few of you disguise yourselves as guards upon bringing you back." The Man in the lab coat said.

"Very well. I'll head first then." Viper said, walking away while thinking of a way to stop everything.

After Viper had left, the man whom the former Chemist had spoke with earlier called one of his subordinate.

"Captain Bronx, keep an eye out on Viper. If she were to betray us in any form, she then must be executed immediately." It wasn't personal, but the look on Viper's eyes as she watched her comrades bodies get lifted out had guilt in them.

"Understood, Dr. Chroma." Captain Bronx, bowed before leaving the Doctor.

"Now, Let's see where your loyalties are. To Kingdom or to you friends."

3rd Person Point of View

Killjoy walked out the debriefing room, with a lot of thought circling her mind. It had been an eventful day, and it wasn't even night yet. The German groaned frustrated at the earlier conversation they had. She was thinking carefully about why on earth did Reyna killed her in the Future. Had she done something wrong? Though she can never solve why Reyna always hate her. But she does know that it had something involve with her tech.

While Killjoy was distracted with her thoughts, she didn't noticed her friend calling her until Jett grabbed both her shoulders.

"Killjoy!" The techie snapped out of her deep thoughts to see Jett in front of her face. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't surprised, but thankfully she didn't ask her.

"Is there something you need Jett....?" Killjoy asked, moving away from the wind duelist.

"Raze. You said to find her, well she's with Phoenix right now near your lab." Jett answered getting a satisfied look from Killjoy.

"That's great! Let's go!" Killjoy pulled Jett with her, surprising her this time since even she couldn't react at how fast Killjoy had pulled her.

The two met up with Raze and Phoenix at the hallway near Killjoy's lab. It was Jett's idea for them to stay there while she looks for Killjoy herself.

"Wassup Joy! Need anything?" Raze waved at her friend. She was actually in the middle of making another boom bot, but when Phoenix and Jett barged in her room so suddenly, she had no time to react before the two drag her out. She tried to ask what the problem was, but the two said even they didn't know.

"Raze! You won't believe it! Our invention worked!" Killjoy exclaimed, shaking her friend. It didn't take a second for Raze to understand what the German had meant.

"You mean KAY/O right now- WAIT! WHERE'S HE?! I want to take a look for myself!" But before Raze could even run away, Killjoy stopped her in her tracks.

"Yeah about that...." Killjoy used one hand to hold Raze's arm while using the other to scratch her the back of her neck. "KAY/O kind of broke down. But fixable nevertheless!"

"Oh." Killjoy received a disappointed reaction from her friend. Raze was hoping to ask if anything interesting happened in the future for him to go back here. If only she knew how eventful and interesting it was.

"KAY/O WHAT!?" Jett yelled, suddenly taking the two's attention.

"I told you we should've get him checked first!" Phoenix this time, crossing his arms towards Killjoy. The German felt a built guilty that her curiosity got the better of her. But, important information was collected yeah?

"I know I know! I'll get him fixed up!" Killjoy raised her hands. It really is her responsibility to get KAY/O fixed.

"Right. So is that the only thing you needed to tell? Cause if I remember correctly, Brimstone only agreed to our little project since it can be used to prevent world level danger." Raze asked. It wasn't a secret towards Jett and Phoenix about what they did. Heck everyone around the Protocol knew about it, but only Killjoy, Brimstone and Fade knew that it had worked. Well Raze included too.

"So what? World got destroyed or something?" Jett asked. Though it was probably not really a world level threat, considering Brimstone haven't called them for a meeting.

"Yeah somewhat like that. I can't really tell it but I sure it's something we can handle." Killjoy explained. Although she was kind of unsure as well if that were true.

"If you say so." The wind duelist trusted her friend. Killjoy wouldn't lie to them about something like this. Plus, she really wouldn't gain anything even if she did. Or so Jett thought.

"I swear, things just get more weirder and we-!"

Phoenix was in the middle of his sentence when suddenly the door beside them opened. Before any of them could react, a voice spoke with annoyance in their tone.

"Although it isn't prohibited in any floors to gossip, I do suggest you don't do it in front of my lab." Emerald eyes pierced through all of them. It was unfortunate that they had forgotten which location they chose to stay at. It was safe to say that only three of the four feared that deadly glare of her.

"Hallo Viper? Anything good happen?" Killjoy waved her hand, annoying the Chemist more. Even Viper didn't knew why she was unfazed by her, but things didn't start like this. There was a time that Killjoy was afraid of her, but that had been long gone after Viper had agreed to help her in analyzing the spike they retrieved back then. During that time, the German learned that Viper wasn't all that scary at all. Just intimidating.

Viper rolled her eyes but entertained the techie nonetheless. "It will be when you can keep quiet and let me focus on my work." The Chemist had meant it to be insulting, but her efforts were in vain when Killjoy didn't even react the way she wanted her to.

"What are you working on? I remember that you mentioned that you want your poison to scatter more." Killjoy asked, clearly not caring what Viper ha just said. But unlike her, the three duelist behind her rather leave than listen.

"You know, I gotta thing to do. Meet you all later!" Jett dashed away.

"Well if you look at the time! I gotta continue making more of my boom bot. See ya Joy!" Raze followed using her satchels, flying through the hallway.

"Alright! I'll just go yeah?" Phoenix couldn't think of any excuse. Viper and Killjoy watched the three duelist leave before returning to their conversation.

The Chemist sighed and rubbed her forehead. Clearly Killjoy couldn't take a hint even if the person is slamming it to her face. "You just can't stop talking, can you?"

"Hey, I stay quiet at times! When there's a meeting or if I'm sleeping. Scheisse, I guess I do talk a lot...." Killjoy questioned herself before trying to think of a time when she stayed quiet. Viper rolled her eyes again at the German who was seriously thinking about it.

"If I answer your question, would you quietly leave?" Viper knew she was wasting time on this pointless conversation. She was starting to regret going out and telling them off. She could just leave, but she wasn't that rude. Not when the person talking to her wasn't force to interact with her, but rather chose to make conversation with her.

"Well I can't promise quietly leaving, but I'll do leave if you really want me to." Killjoy smiled at Viper. It was annoying. Viper found it annoying that the German was being nice to her.

"Fine. It's not really that amazing, but I found a way to spread my poison more after hitting the ground. I added more quantity while I adjusted the power of how far it can reach. Though since I changed the quantity, I had to remake the formula so that it would be corrosive enough." Viper explained.

"That's great to hear! I can help you with that if you want! Well I'll be going then, don't want to delay you any further." Killjoy happily said before walking away while waving goodbye at the Chemist.

Viper would be lying if she denied that she slightly waved back when the German turned around. Though she didn't wave it like Killjoy did, it was still something when she realized that she had raised her hand. But it was useless to think about it so Viper went back inside afterwards.

Killjoy while walking, had a huge smile in her face. She didn't know why, but it's always nice whenever she talks to Viper. Of course she didn't mean she hated talking to the others, it's just that she feels happier talking with her. Even if Viper does get annoyed at her at times.

That's when the thought of Viper being involved with the incident occured to her. But in what way exactly? She does know that Viper and Reyna does not get along. It was their professionalism that stopped them from tearing each other apart. Maybe....

"I assume everyone is ready?" Dr. Chroma asked as 10 elite soldiers were gathered in front of him. Aside from them, beside him were Viper and Captain Bronx, a total of 12 troops to deploy.

"We're all ready. But isn't sending only twelve of us a bit small?" Captain Bronx asked. Clearly they knew the powers of each agent very well, and know that they aren't someone to be underestimated.

"Yes I agree the number of men is quite low. But we can't have more than we have now. If we do, it'll be troublesome to send you all back to the past since it can distort your bodies. Thanks to Killjoy's information after taking over their base, I was able to make a time machine out of it. But it doesn't mean we can just send an army any time we want." Dr. Chroma explained.

Viper felt a bit of heaviness on her chest after hearing her name. It's been awhile since she said it herself. She just couldn't bring herself to say it after everything she had done. Though she dedicated it for her, Viper knew the German wouldn't have wanted this.

"Your mission is to ensure that the past stays the same. We cannot let them alter everything we have accomplished! To send you back, just press the red button that is located at the right arm of your suit. If I remember correctly, this is what their troops look like two years ago." Dr. Chroma spent a few days trying to make the suits. He specifically made them so that they can be sent back here.

"What happens if they recognize us?" Captain Bronx said, eyeing Viper.

"Fear not, aside from Viper, using your normal voice will not be a problem as I didn't find anything about you all in the Valorant Protocol's files. As for you Viper, do not take off the helmet, that's where your voice changer is located. Any more questions?" Dr. Chroma asked, slowly starting up the machine they were stepping on.

"Negative. Mission is to ensure that nothing changes. No more. No Less." Viper said putting on her helmet. To hell with this mission, one thing is for certain. Someone was going to die.

With that Dr. Chroma gave everyone a nod before pulling the lever in front of him. Soon the area around them became a bit distorted but after a few waves, a huge flash blinded the whole area and everyone who was in front of him disappeared. He would have liked it if he was able to contact them, unfortunately there wasn't a way to do that. So he had to trust that Captain Bronx would be able to handle it.

"Something tells me that I should make more suits."

Inside the Valorant Protocol, where no one was around. Captain Bronx, Viper and the rest of the elite soldiers were successfully brought to the past. Dr. Chroma had placed a certain coordination where there were no camera nor guards that worked at night. It was thanks to Viper that they had gotten such information.

"Everybody, split up into three, it'll be best if we aren't all in the same spot all the time." Viper ordered them. The elite soldiers followed and had formed groups of three's before going off. That leaves one of the elite soldiers with them.

"Let's go. If I remember correctly, there's nothing odd with guards circling around at night in the hallways." Viper added, getting a nod from the solider and Captain Bronx.

They were at enemy territory now. None of them can afford to make a mistake, as much as possible they shouldn't interact with any of the current guards and Agents. Captain Bronx, Viper and the elite soldier roamed around, casually passing by other guards.

While they were circling around, Captain Bronx spoke towards the elite soldier that they were with. "You. What's your name?"

The elite soldier turned their head towards him and answered, "Hideki Nakamura, Captain Bronx."

"You Japanese?" Viper asked, getting in on their conversation. It wasn't like they had much to do, might as well make small talks. This was something she had picked up from a certain Sentinel who never stayed quiet, even for a minute.

"Hai. But I do speak English very well." Hideki said. He didn't want them to think that they had a language barrier, but there was no point in explaining either way. Since he was able to understand everything that had happened, Viper and Captain Bronx had just assumed that he was good in English. But, still it was good to confirm it.

"Where are you at this time?" Viper asked. She never recalled any Hideki Nakamura at the Valorant Protocol, so it was safe to think he wasn't near here.

"Currently I think I am at Japan. Listening to this Kawaii/Metal band I like." Hideki answered. Though it wasn't visible, Viper and Captain Bronx had a confused look on their face. What did he mean by that?

"Something like that exists?" Captain Bronx explained, not getting the whole Kawaii and Metal mix he was referring. As for Viper, she listened to something she probably thinks had metal.

"I don't really blame you if you don't know them. But they are popular at certain places." Hideki said. Wishing that there was a way to listen to them. Unfortunately, job comes first.

"What's the band's name?" Viper asked, a bit curious on what Hideki was talking about.

"Babymetal. All of their music is really good! The message of each song is really beautiful if you find a translation. Mōshiwakearimasen, I shouldn't be rambling too much about them." Hideki said, feeling a bit embarrassed that he couldn't supress his excitement when talking about them.

"I'll check that out after coming back." Captain Bronx commented, getting satisfied reaction from Hideki.

"Yeah. Something like that is quite intriguing." Viper added.

The Former Chemist didn't know why, but a sudden memory came to her mind after looking at Hideki at Captain Bronx. It was the memories of when Killjoy and her talked for hours during night time. They would often see each other at the Mess Hall, making-

"Coffee! So müde..... Should I make it sweet?"

Viper's eyes widened. This was the thing she wanted to avoid the most. Seeing her. The former Chemist didn't know if she could handle it, but tonight she was about to find out when Killjoy passed by her yawning while walking towards the Mess Hall kitchen.

Captain Bronx and Hideki saw her stop in her tracks. Of course Bronx knew what she was dealing with, but Hideki was very much clueless.

"I-I Ki..... No. I mustn't...." Viper was very tempted to call her. Maybe for just a minute she could just interact with her. But if she were to do that, she would blow it all away. She must stay strong, even if it means losing the chance to talk to her again. So she bit her lip to stop herself.

"I understand your pain Viper, but you must accept how everything would end." Captain Bronx said. To be honest he did felt bad that Viper had to secure the death of the one she loves. But there was no other way.

"Let's go. We have to find that extra storage unit that no one goes to. We can't just walk around for six months." Captain Bronx said. Viper stayed quiet the whole night, she didn't know until now just how hard this mission was going to be for her.

__________________________

Inside the kitchen area of the Mess Hall, a certain chemist could be found sitting on one of the chairs drinking a coffee. It had been a routine for her every night. Some could say that it was her way to relax before sleeping. And indeed they were right. It's during this time when the sun is down and the moon is up does Viper feel relaxed. The cooling air and quietness was all she could ask for.

That is until a certain Sentinel named Killjoy comes occasionally, disrupting her night. During the first few times it happened, Viper couldn't help but get really annoyed. She couldn't stand the non-stop talking. She was at the point where she would just bring her coffee to her room when the German comes.

But one night when she was really frustrated at the events that had happened that day, the German stopped by once again to disrupt her night. She wasn't going to have any of it, so when Viper waited for her to start talking, that's when she'll tell her to stop and leave. But it never happened. It wasn't because Viper had backed off or she felt guilty. It was that Killjoy didn't spoke once that night, not until she had left to say goodnight towards Viper.

That night Viper's frustration grew. She found it really annoying that she found herself thinking what had made Killjoy all so quiet. It didn't take long for her to find out since the German came back the night after.

There Viper questioned Killjoy on whether or not she had a problem. It surprised the Techie back then since Viper never initiates in making a conversation first. So she told her what she was going through that day. Apparently, work started to pile up on her and she just couldn't find the time to take a break. It also wasn't helpful that she couldn't finish her own project because she couldn't find the proper method in successfully finishing it. All of her test resulted in failures to be short.

Starting that time, Viper had grown a bit close with Killjoy. She was able to talk with the German about things that didn't necessarily had anything to do with work. She wasn't going to be all friendly with her, but her hostility towards her did lower.

"Ah Viper! Not surprised you're here!" Speak of the devil. It was Killjoy, yawning, tired and sleepy.

"When have I been not here?" Viper muttered, before taking a sip on her mug. The bitter taste made her stay awake, unlike someone who was currently making something sweet.

"You know, something really strange happened today. Though I can't go on to details, but I think I need to work on an invention that covers yourself with armor when someone tries to kill you." Killjoy started, still having trouble with accepting that she died in the future. Honestly she was sure she'd be able to make herself immortal.

"What? Afraid to die?" Viper asked, not really know where Killjoy was headed with what she said.

"Yeah if it's too early! You think my survival rate compared with the others are higher right?" Killjoy asked, stirring to mix the sweet drink she made before sitting in front of Viper.

"I don't know, you do risk yourself too much." Viper answered, taking into consideration of the times Killjoy almost died due to idiotic reasons.

"It was just one time! I can't just let the enemy destroy my turret, I spent weeks upgrading it!" Killjoy, defending herself. Though she probably should think of herself than she does.

"If you say so." Viper found it amusing at the times when the German gets all worked up.

"Hey Viper, what do you think are the possible reasons for Reyna to kill me?" Killjoy suddenly asked surprising the Chemist a bit. At first Viper thought that it was just one of those things that Killjoy suddenly asked without any reason, but she could see it in her eyes that something was bothering her.

"Did Reyna threaten you?" Viper asked, not noticing how she was grabbing the handle on her mug too hard. She never liked the Mexican duelist, it made it even worst when Reyna had gotten along with another person she hated, Sage.

"No! No! No! Nein! Just asking." Killjoy couldn't tell Viper the exact reason, it would be stupid if she told her. She was the one who said that they shouldn't tell everyone.

Viper didn't believe her, but still played along. "She does hate your tech. Just don't get in her way." Unlike Killjoy, Viper was certain of one reason why Reyna hated her. Not many know this, but before Reyna and Viper had met, they had been connected by a single person who they both cared about. At the least Viper took a liking.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Killjoy sighed, finally taking a sip to taste what has become of the drink she made. Köstlich!

The night continued with Killjoy talking about her tech once again while Viper remained silent but still listened attentively. All the while they talked, a certain Russian Hunter was smiling from a far.

"What an odd pair."

Notes:

I apologize for the long update, I'll try my best to update each week.

Chapter Text

3rd Person Point of View

The following days that came by were normal. The Valorant Protocol remained peaceful, aside from the frequent attacks Mirror Earth sends them. Brimstone had been receiving headaches thanks to them. He remembers KAY/O saying that they became friends with them. Apparently that's way ahead in the future since there hasn't been a sign of wanting peace from them.

So he ordered Killjoy to fix KAY/O within the week. Unfortunately the parts they needed weren't available in Killjoy's lab or any from their Agents and co-workers. Brimstone had to order the parts from Germany. And it wasn't very pleasing to here that they had to wait a few weeks for it.

"Just great. We needed to get KAY/O fixed up right away but the parts we need are unavailable." Brimstone was stressed out from the mountains of problems they were having.

"Relax my friend! Base from the information you tell me, we have atleast a few months to sort this out! Plenty of time." Cypher reassuring the controller. Brimstone had came down with the decision to tell the Sentinel since gathering information was his specialty.

"Still, we don't know what's in-store for us. I got the feeling that something bad is going to happen." Brimstone unable to relax. There was this constant thought that keeps bugging him. It was that it couldn't be easy to just fix everything up. Something was bound to happen.

"You might be right about that. Have you come up with the conclusion to tell everybody? Especially Reyna." Cypher asked. He as well thinks that telling everybody what will happen in the future is the right choice.

"I want to, but without knowing the main reason why Reyna did it is a bit risky. We really have no control over her. Her desire for revenge is what keeps her stable." Brimstone recalls the time Reyna had joined the Protocol. There was bloodlust in her eyes. Eyes that tells him that she'll kill anyone who stands in her way.

"Revenge.... Don't you think that it has something to do with that? Maybe Killjoy's tech malfunction and made her angry, no?" Cypher making assumptions to further solve what exactly triggered the event. He was the Agent who knew everyone's information. Though it wasn't everything, it was still a lot.

"Speaking of malfunctions, let's avoid in grouping Reyna and Killjoy. I hope it's alright that you take her place in today's Mission." Brimstone was a bit guilty that Cypher had to go on another Mission right after finishing one yesterday. If there was a far better option other than him, he would take it. But sending Sage or Chamber wasn't ideal. Sage didn't have any traps that they can use, while Chamber's in another mission that had been going on for a week.

"I see no problem in going out once again, but I could use another person to help me stabilize Reyna." Cypher personally doesn't like being anywhere near the Mexican. He too had receive threats regarding his gadgets. Though it wasn't as bad as Killjoy's.

"Don't worry, Viper will be joining as well. She'll be in charge. I added Neon too so that Reyna has someone she can distract herself with. I know Viper and her doesn't get along all too well." Brimstone hopes that nothing bad comes out from their mission. Base from Fade's information, they'll be facing Mirror Jett, Mirror Raze, Mirror Omen, Mirror Skye and Mirror Killjoy.

"We try to avoid our Killjoy being near Reyna and yet we deploy Reyna against Mirror Killjoy. You think their Killjoy knows something? How about we capture her?" Cypher suggested, it wasn't a bad idea. But if they were to kidnap her, knowing himself, Mirror Earth might send all their agents against them.

"No. But I appreciate it if you manage to get information from her." Brimstone answered, getting a nod from the Morocco. For now, they needed to focus on the mission in hand.

_________________________

During the later part of the day, Brimstone waited for the selected agents near the plane. He along with Killjoy had a few words for them before leaving. Since the Mission was made on a short notice, not everything was cleared on what they had need to do. Brimstone had actually told Killjoy that she didn't need to come. But the German rejected the idea since she was supposed to be the one going. It was only fair the she sends them off. Once everyone was there, Brimstone spoke up to clear their questions and confusions.

"Alright listen up! I apologize for the sudden mission, but you are the ones that I need for this mission."

"This better be important." Reyna said, glaring at the older agent before moving her attention towards Killjoy. The German quickly took a step to the right to hide behind Brimstone.

"We have word that a few mirror agents are on the move. Fade who was sent out on a stake out mission managed to find movement in Russia. Icebox, Kingdom's former secret excavation site." Killjoy continued. The agents who are present are slowly, picking up what they are being told to do. It was the usual defend and defuse kind of thing.

"I see. You want us to stop them and retrieve the spike?" Viper asked, trying to confirm that her guess was right.

"Yes. But there's also something I need you all to do." Eyebrows were raised at Brimstone. There's a special assignment that they needed to accomplish within the Mission.

"I don't want any of you to kill the mirror agents."

This made some of the agents gasp in surprised. Even Killjoy, she wasn't informed of this. Why must they not harm the mirror agents that they will be facing?

"Brimstone! Do you take us for a fool?! A suicide mission is what you want!" Reyna furious as her eyes glowed purple. Behind her was Viper who was also shock at the sudden task. But that didn't stop her from glaring at the woman in front of her. If Reyna were to suddenly attack Brimstone, she would guarantee her death to be very painful.

"That's why I asked you all specifically. Get the job done. You'll understand once you're there." Brimstone said in a commanding voice. He wasn't going to be look down by someone, not even Reyna. Even if the Mexican stared daggers at her.

"E-Everyone! Le-Let's just calm down an-!" Killjoy tried to play peacekeeper since it looked like everything was going to go down in any second, but Reyna didn't take it kindly as she forcefully grabbed her by the collar.

"Tranquilizarse! I'll rip your thr-!" But before Reyna could even finish her threat, her vision turned black. A hand had suddenly grabbed her face before painfully slamming her to the floor. Making her lie on her back

"I'd like to see you try!"

Everyone stared surprised at Viper who was pinning Reyna down on the ground. Her hand pushing the Mexican's face down. Reyna had trouble getting free, and it soon didn't help when Viper stomped one of her foot on to her stomach.

"V-Viper! Let go!" Killjoy tried pulling the Chemist's arm, but to her disappointment, it didn't budge.

"Viper! Enough!" Brimstone shouted, getting the emerald eyes agent's attention. Viper scoffed as she released her hold, obviously infuriated.

"I'll deal with you later." Viper said, returning to her original place. Reyna glared at her after getting up, but she knew as well that it wasn't wise to let her anger get the best of her before a Mission. So she'll let this side. For now.

"I asked for professionals and I got lunatics. Sova you're in charge. Everyone, stop the Mirror Agents and retrieve the spike!" Brimstone raised his voice. "And don't kill any of them." The older agent added, staring straight at Reyna before walking off.

Killjoy didn't know whether or not to follow or wait until everyone left. She chose the latter of course. She watched as Reyna entered the plane with anger while Neon tried to calm her down. The same could be said towards Viper who was talking with Sova about something.

"Killjoy. Fix KAY/O as soon as you can. I fear Brimstone is right about his instincts." Cypher said, patting his fellow Sentinel on the shoulder before going in the plane as well.

Were they going to be okay? Killjoy was lost for words at the events that had happened. They tried their best to make her avoid Reyna, but maybe this time she should've listened. Mein Gott! I need to get KAY/O fixed.

_________________________

"Alright. Base from Fade's intel, the Mirror Agents are already there. We just need to stop them before the spike detonates." Sova explained. But it was hard to lead a group that was filled with animosity with each other. On the bright side though, neither Reyna or Viper spoke a word until they had landed.

But that's what Cypher and Sova had feared. What if Viper or Reyna started feuding with each other in the middle of their Mission. They we're gonna get an earful from Brimstone and Sage if that were the case.

"We're here! Everyone, don't lower your guard!" Sova strictly said. The plain landed at the entrance of A site. They had to keep their distance to avoid getting ambushed.

"Buraya! they've planted the spike!"

The group turned their attention towards the source of the voice that called them. It was Fade. The Initiator was just below A Belt, obviously hiding.

"Then we have no time to waste. Everybody, get in position. I believe you all know what you need to do?" Sova ordered them. And just like how he assumes, the group went to their respectful position. Him aiming an arrow at the wall to bounce it of towards the Site itself. Viper aiming her toxic screens to the perfect location for her team to get in. Neon and Reyna taking the front, waiting for information from Fade and Sova. And lastly Cypher who was about to set up some traps.

Well that is until they hear an updraft just near B tube.

"MOVE BACK!" Sova pulled Cypher with all his strength to get him to cover. The Sentinel and Initiator both fell back to a near wall when they suddenly heard a loud bang. It was an Operator.

"Ah shit! We have company!" Neon yelled as tiger like animal came rushing towards them. The animal then jumped right at her, biting a part of her shoulder while leaving a concussive effect. Neon fell back as she became dizzy.

"Alright change of plans! Reyna, Viper and Fade you defuse the spike. Me and Cypher will handle Mirror Jett." Sova said, shooting a shock dart. The dart bounced of the wall and container before exploding right where Mirror Jett was. Unfortunately it was avoided by the wind agent by dashing away.

Viper who didn't hesitate, shot her Toxic screens and had activated it once they were in place. Before they could push pass A Pipes, a Brazilian duelist blocked them off with a boom bot.

Reyna quickly destroyed it but soon jumped back when a grenade landed in front of her. Once it was clear, Reyna pulled out her leer and blinded the enemies at the other side. This  gave Fade the chance to throw an orb at Rafters to locate any enemies that were hiding.

"Marked two! Be careful! Mirror Raze and Mirror Skye are here!" Fade announced. Viper and Reyna then pushed through to find the spike planted in between the boxes of A site.

Reyna and Fade covered Viper, but before the chemist could use her defuser, an alarm bot went off, followed by two nanoswarm popping around it. The three took cover and heard a person jumping off from Rafters.

Fade took a quick peek before hiding back again as a few bullets were shot a right back at her. Viper and Reyna hid at Maze while Fade hid behind Generator.

Viper's Toxic Screen soon went down, revealing that the Mirror Agents were surrounding them.

"I like these odds." Reyna smirked as she had another leer in hand, waiting patiently for the Mirror Agents to come closer. Viper could hear footsteps getting close towards her. As soon as the barrel of gun appeared in front of her, the Chemist grabbed it and pushed it away from her while shooting the Mirror Agents foot.

"SCHEISSE!"

The Mirror Agent fell to her knees in front of her. It was Mirror Killjoy. The German quickly took out her sheriff to aim it towards Viper. She reacted quickly by hitting Mirror Killjoy in the head with the back of her Phantom, causing her to get knocked out.

"Killjoy! Satchel out!" Reyna then heard Mirror Raze beside her with a worried tone. But before the Brazilian could see anything, her vision was blocked off by the Mexican's leer. Reyna took this opportunity to tackle down Raze.

"Blinding!" A hawk then ran past everyone and exploded at Maze. Blinding Reyna, Viper and Mirror Raze. Luckily Fade was able to dodge the flash by averting her eyes. And just like how she expected it, Mirror Skye tried to help. So once the fellow Initiator appeared beside her, Fade pulled her in a headlock. The two struggled with each other as Mirror Skye proved to be a strong as their Skye.

All the while that was happening, Cypher and Sova were dealing with Mirror Jett and Mirror Omen.

"That Operator is really a headache." Cypher scratched the back of his head. It was really difficult to trade gunshots with the enemy when they can be killed with one bullet.

"We got to distract her somehow." Sova suggested.

"What a pain in the ass...."

The two turned their heads towards their right to see Neon finally waking up. The Duelist got knocked out after getting bitten by Mirror Skye's Tiger.

"Neon, how are you feeling?" Sova asked, seeing a flow of blood running down from her shoulder.

"Like shit!" Neon complained, feeling the pain from her shoulder. Wishing Sage was with them right now. But her thoughts were interrupted when another wave bullets were shot right at them.

"I don't think we can hide here any longer." Cypher said, holding his hat to avoid it from getting blown away. It was rather chilly today as well. They didn't call it Icebox for nothing.

"I'll run and distract Jett with my ultimate. Just cover me from that ghost freak!" Neon took a deep breath as she readied her self up. Lord! God help me!

"HERE WE GO!"

Neon ran out of their hiding spot and quickly aimed the ray of electricity towards Jett who was now on top of the Blue Container. She paid no attention at the enemy on her left since she trusted them to cover her, and boy she was right.

"Hello my ghostly friend." Cypher uttered as he unloaded a clip of bullets towards Omen, not letting him interfere. Neon took this opportunity to run towards Jett who was having a hard time to aiming. She tried shooting at Neon but her bullets keep Missing. Soon the gap between them was disappearing.

"Son of a bitch!" Jett dashed towards her right and combined it with an updraft to make more space. Unfortunately for her, Neon jumped right on time to hold on to her leg.

"Got'cha you annoying fly!" Neon shouted. The wind agent had trouble controlling herself so the two fell on top of Tube. A loud thump was heard and the two duelist fell off afterwards.

Mirror Jett lost her Operator during that chaotic flight, while Neon felt tired since it took a lot of energy when using her powers. They were now between Orange and Snowpile.

Neon and Mirror Jett crawled away from each other before lifting themselves up on their feet.

"Has anyone.... ever told you! That you're really a pain in the ass!" Mirror Jett said in-between her breaths.

"Yeah..... But I can ask you the same thing." Neon huffing, feeling drained.

No more words were needed to be said as the two took a fighting stance. Neon taunted Mirror Jett by raising her hand and signaling her to come at her. Mirror Jett smirked and raised her hand to make a middle finger.

Without another second to waste, the two ran towards each other with a fist heading straight towards their opponent's face.

"ARGH! STAY STILL!" Fade was having a hard time taking down Mirror Skye. The Australian agent was far stronger than her, so she had to rely on her fighting techniques to win.

Fade threw another right but Mirror Skye was able to catch it with her bare hand.

"You monster." Fade muttered before getting pulled and tossed by Mirror Skye using her own weight. The Initiator landed hard on her back.

"A little help here!" Fade yelled as she rolled away after seeing an incoming foot towards her face. Note to self, get stronger in hand to hand combat.

"Take one step closer and you'll find a whole straight through your head." Viper said as she aimed her Phantom towards Mirror Skye. The Initiator raised her hands to avoid getting shot.

"Not so.... tough against a gun huh!" Fade yelled, breathing heavily while holding her back. She swore she heard something crack when she landed.

Viper rolled her eyes but soon fell down when Mirror Killjoy suddenly tackled her down from behind.

"I'm not done yet!" Mirror Killjoy shouted as she pinned Viper down while trying to throw a few blows at her. Since the Chemist was skilled with hand to hand combat, she raised her hands to shield her face. Though that didn't stop the feeling of the painful impacts of her hands.

Mirror Skye then eyed the Phantom that Viper dropped, but Fade was quick enough to stop her. "Hayır yapmazsın!

The Turkish Agent grappled Mirror Skye to avoid getting the gun. Of course Mirror agent tried to counter this by using her free hand to continuously hit Fade's back.

Fade yelp in pain but tried to remain strong as she rammed Mirror Skye on the Generator near them. But once again the Australian Agent broke free and started to give knee strikes on Fade's stomach. The Initiator coughed out blood as Mirror Skye launched her towards the wall.

"You're quite pathetic." Mirror Skye said as she walked towards Fade who was lying on her stomach, trying to get up.

"AAAAAA!" Mirror Killjoy kept shouting as she continued giving rights and lefts. Viper waited for an opening, and once she found one, she quickly grabbed Mirror Killjoy by the neck and reversed their situation.

"Stay down." Viper said, but the German didn't backed down as she tried removing Viper's grip.

"Aren't.... you forgetting.... something?" Mirror Killjoy said as Viper made it harder for her to breathe. But the Chemist soon realized what she had meant when she heard the spike beeping quickly.

"Shit. Reyna! The spike!" Viper shouted not moving her eyes away from Mirror Killjoy.

"Defusing it already!" Reyna yelled back, pulling out her defuser. But as she tried returning towards the Spike, Mirror Skye blocked her way.

"Do you really want to fight me?" Reyna said. Obvious that she wasn't going to back down if Mirror Skye wanted to.

"Of course mate. I never really got to fight our Reyna before. So what better way to experience than fighting Earth-1's Reyna." Mirror Skye answered. But once she raised her hands to fight, a bullet was shot straight to her thigh.

The Initiator fell down to her knees before turning her head to see who had shot her. To her frustration, it was Fade holding up her sheriff gun with a bit of smoke coming out of the barrel.

"Yeah. No one said to fight fairly...." Fade said before finally falling down. Tired of all the fighting. Reyna took this opportunity to punch Mirror Skye on face, knocking her out completely. Without any more time to waste, Reyna finally defused the spike.

"You failed little mouse." Viper said as she let go of Mirror Killjoy's throat. The German felt relieved as she could finally breathe once again, yet was still frustrated that they lost.

"I don't know if your Germany is different than ours but it's not wise to use that term. We're not really that close." Mirror Killjoy suddenly said as she stared at the ceiling waiting to get shot. Brimstone's not going to be happy about this.

"Why? Is your Viper not friendly with you?" Viper asked, still sitting on top of Killjoy. Though it seemed the Mirror Agent didn't mind as she kept on staring at ceiling.

"Ja! Not once had she greeted me back! It's starting to get real annoying. You're very cold." Mirror Killjoy yelled, as if a child complaining to his mother. But the last part was what Viper took interest the most. She was cold. She didn't like to interact with anyone.

"Just keep doing what you're doing. It'll work, trust me." Viper said before finally standing up. It confused the German what she had meant by that.

"No way..... You?! How!?" Mirror Killjoy finally sitting up. But before she could receive any answer, Reyna appeared beside them.

"Killjoy. You're lucky the mission is binding me from killing you here." Reyna said as her eyes glowed purple.

"Did you kill Raze.....?" Mirror Killjoy had a rather sad tone in her voice. She realized that her friend Raze fought against Reyna. And since she was seeing the Mexican Agent here, it means Raze lost.

"Unfortunately not. But I assure you, you'll here her blabbing nonsense again." Reyna scoffed before moving towards Viper. The Chemist kept her guard up around her. They still have an issue to settle.

"We'll settle it later. For now, I'll go check on the others." Reyna said bluntly as she walked away from Viper and the rest.

The Controller gave the Mexican Agent a deadly glare after turning around. How she wished to just shoot her from behind.

Back at mid, Sova and Cypher were able to restrain Mirror Omen with the Sentinel bringing handcuffs. The Ghost agent didn't put much of a fight once they surrounded him.

"I don't sense my other self. Such a pity." Mirror Omen said as Cypher and Sova held bot his arms to neither run nor escape.

The three walked back to mid to see Neon and Mirror Jett still going at it. Though it was obvious that the Filipino Agents was winning due to her speed.

"Fucking slow down!" Mirror Jett yelled in frustration as Neon started to get the upper hand after recharging her energy. The Wind agent took another right at the side of her face before receiving a painful hit on her stomach.

"What? Can't keep up?" Neon, obviously wanting to make the duelist angry. After a few more punch at Mirror Jett, the duelist soon stopped after seeing the Korean drop.

"I really.... really.... hate you." Jett was in serious pain from the duelist's attack. Much so that she couldn't even try to stand. Not to mention she heard the spike getting defuse. What a tiring day....

"I see you didn't need help."

Neon turned her head to see Reyna with an amused face. Clearly proud that Neon was able to handle herself. The Mexican gave Mirror Jett a slight look before moving towards Sova and Cypher.

"Mission success I presume?" Reyna looking straight at Sova.

"Yes. Where are Viper and Fade?" Sova asked. Not seeing the two with Reyna.

"That snake is retrieving the spike. I should also mention that she is interacting with that disgraceful agent." Reyna said with bit of hatred at the last part.

"Killjoy? Then if you could excuse me, I need to do something else." Cypher said, letting go of Omen and running towards site. Reyna raise an eyebrow and gave Sova a questioned look.

"I assume Brimstone has another thing tasked for him." Sova answered with what he knows. It's not surprising for Brimstone to give them an individual assignment during a mission. He experience a fair share of those.

"Speaking of Brimstone, let's report back in HQ what happened." Neon spoke up from behind.

"Then Reyna, I hope you don't mind that you and Neon will watch over while I ask our next move." Sova said pushing Mirror Omen gently towards Reyna. The latter just waved her hand to leave and to get it done quickly. The duelist just wanted to go back home and rest. Sova gave a slight nod before walking towards their plane.

After a twenty minutes of waiting, Sova came back to see Cypher, Viper and Fade already standing by with Reyna and Neon. The Russian Agent could clearly see that something was bugging Viper. The Chemist had an annoyed look while she had her arms crossed on her chest.

"So what did the old man say?" Neon asked.

"I told him that we had captured the Mirror Agents. But he told me to just let them go." Sova answered getting a few shocked reaction.

"WAIT WHAT?! You serious!?" Mirror Jett suddenly shouted. It wasn't that she wanted to die but clearly this never happened before.

"Yes! Same reaction! Why the hell are we letting them go!?" Neon couldn't believe that she was having the same thoughts as the person she had just fought.

"Yeah! I busted my ass and back for that!" Fade added, holding her back while holding on to Cypher for support.

"Brimstone said that he'll explain once we get back. For now just leave them there and let's go." Sova said as he turned his back towards them to head back to the plane.

Reyna wanted to argue but just stayed quiet as it had been a long day. But that didn't mean that she could just fully lock up her frustration. So without warning she punched Mirror Jett, knocking her down to the ground.

"Hey! I wanted to hit her!" Neon complained, following an angry Reyna.

"Sorry about that." Cypher said, lifting his hat off a bit while bowing slightly. The Sentinel was helping Fade walk back to plane. Viper was the last to walk away but before she did, she heard Mirror Omen telling something.

"Strange. I can feel a disturbance."

It was enough for Viper to turn back her head towards the Ghost agent.

"What disturbance?" Viper asked, not really surprised to hear anything else after learning something crucial from Cypher. But it wasn't a crime to know more.

"It feels as if a few entity doesn't belong here." Omen answered, getting a hum from Viper. The Chemist left after hearing his answer.

"Killjoy has a lot of explaining to do." Viper thought as she made her way inside the plane.

Chapter 5: I'm Back

Chapter Text

Hey guys! It's been so long. I haven't updated anything for more than a year. Not gonna lie, I’ve gotten lazy, but the actual reason why I haven't been updating is because I've been so busy with everything. Currently in college now, Yehey. And let me tell you, it really isn't easy when you're still studying at 2 in the morning. But hey, we're still breathing, everything is going fine. I finally found the time to write.

So let's get a few things straight. This book, as much as I love to continue it, I just really forgot at least half of the plot of what I wanted to write. However, I do still remember the direction of how I want this story to go. So here's a few things you should take note of:

  1. I will rewrite this story, so there'll probably be a lot of changes in the story itself. So I suggest if you finished until Chapter 4, read it again.
  2. The story will still be somewhat the same, but I wanted to add a few more things and change some details I wrote.
  3. Will some characters disappear? For now we'll see how it goes. I did write this a year back and a lot has changed. A few agents were added so I'll definitely add some characters.
  4. Will I finish the story this time? I honestly don't know. I have less than a month to finish this, though this is something I wanted to focus on since a few months back, so I do hope I finish this. If I don't, please expect a very slow update.
  5. Lastly, as we all know, the story focuses on specific ships. Now would those change? I can think of a couple, but the main ship? Heck no! This is a fanfiction so it doesn't really need to align itself much with the lore. Though I try to align it to some degree.

So yeah, that'll be the few reminders I wanted to say. Now I don't plan on removing this notice until I finish the story. But the chapters I finished? I'll change them once I'm done with at least 3 chapters. If you're reading this and the chapters haven't change yet, means I'm not done.

Remember I finished up until 4 chapters. I'll put "(New)" until chapter 4. When it's 5, I'll stop putting those. It's so that new readers won't get confused if the chapter has changed or not.

So that'll be it. Feel free to read what I've written up until now. Although it will change in some aspects, the concept will still remain the same. So reading it won't be a waste of time.
