Work Text:
Ross bites off the nail polish and looks at the phone screen, waiting for an answer.
No, of course, they have been communicating for a long time, even sometimes they send songs they like to each other — Ross always likes the ones he sends him, but now... it’s completely different. This is already a serious step.
Luke Hemmings ❤️
Hello, Ross! Sure, let’s meet in Toronto!
Ross exhales and types the answer with trembling fingers, “Super! See you later :)” He throws the phone away and runs to Jaz.
‘Jaz!!’ he shouts, and the girl who looked in the mirror shudders. ‘He agreed!!!’
She just grins and hugs him.
‘Well, of course, why wouldn’t he agree,’ she says and returns to braiding her hair.
‘No, you don’t understand-’ Ross exhales and rereads his message. ‘It’s-’ he swallows and chuckles in embarrassment. ‘It’s Luke… He’s so amazing.’
‘Ross,’ Jaz turns to him with a smile, ‘do you remember that you are also a world-famous singer and actor?’
Ross just shrugs and looks out the dialogue, wondering what else to write.
Ross
How is the tour going?
He sends and closes his eyes. What a stupid thing, the guy is probably so busy…
The answer comes in a minute.
Luke Hemmings ❤️
Perfect! Are you in Canada now?
His heart is throbbing with emotions — does he know??..
Ross
Yeah, how do you know? :)
Luke Hemmings ❤️
You posted pictures with your girlfriend, and she’s on set in Toronto :)
Ross almost squeals with delight.
‘He knows I’m in Canada,’ he tells Jaz incredulously, and she laughs.
‘Well, yes, 10 million people already know this!’ Then she sees his reddened cheeks and tenderly tilts her head to one side. ‘God, are you so in love?’
Lynch bites his lip. He doesn’t understand himself.
‘Listen, doesn’t he think you’re in a relationship?’
’10 million people think,’ Ross rolls his eyes, ‘and he’s one of them.’
‘Well... you can hint to him that-’
‘No, are you crazy? I don’t- I don’t know how reliable he is, and anyway-’ Ross frowns. ‘I love you too much to set you up like that.’
‘Honey, I’m not suggesting that you out me,’ she chuckles, wiping the mascara from her eyes with a cotton pad, ‘just hint that you’re open... like... to everything,’ she grins.
Ross bites his nail polish again and sighs.
‘He got married to his girlfriend...’ he pulls sadly and then frowns. ‘Anyway, I’m not some crazy fan, I’m just- He’s just so handsome,’ Lynch sighs.
Jaz pats his shoulder and squeezes it a little.
‘Don’t worry. Nothing really matters with a kiss,’ she sings and grins, and Ross cheers up a little.

Standing near the back entrance surrounded by a bunch of Luke’s fangirls is strange. And when these fans also want to take a picture with you, it’s even weirder.
And when you want to take a picture with their idol yourself, it goes beyond everything.
‘Hey, Ross!’
He hears a voice and immediately turns around, and his heart somersaults.
‘Hi,’ he smiles. Luke holds out his hand; Ross shakes it and exhales noisily, unable to contain his emotions.
A flock of female fans immediately flies up to them, and they have to take a few photos together, and then Luke pulls him inside.
‘You can stand there forever,’ he grins, and Ross chuckles.
‘Yes, I know,’ he smiles. Luke looks at him for a second and then laughs.
‘Damn, yes, I’m sorry, I’m used to bringing ordinary people like this, not world celebrities.’
The whole face turns red with embarrassment, and Ross bites his lip. Luke has a funny Australian accent, and Ross is distraught; he is afraid that because of this, he will constantly ask again, which will make him even more worried. He pushes these thoughts away from himself when Luke already leads him into the dressing room.
He is immediately greeted with cheers and smiles when he sees familiar faces.
They ask him about his career and concerts in the USA, compare that with their own experience, and share stories about crazy American fangirls, and Ross just smiles and agrees, glancing at Luke now and then.
And it burns his insides every time Hemmings looks back and smiles warmly.
Half an hour later, when everyone has left Ross behind, Luke takes him by the hand and leads him somewhere.
‘Where are we going?’ Ross smiles, his heart racing from the feeling of a warm hand around his palm.
‘You’ll see,’ Luke says, glances at him with a smile, and pulls him towards the stairs.
They go up to the club’s roof; it’s only the second floor, but it is empty, and they are completely invisible from below. They stand near the railing and breathe in the cool night air, and the wind gently ruffles their equally light curly hair.
Ross exhales, smiles a little, and turns to Hemmings.
‘How do you like North America?’ he asks so as not to be silent. Luke shrugs, looking off into the distance.
‘It is very different. Canada and the States are very different, and the states themselves are very different...’ Luke turns to Ross and licks his lips. ‘What is your favorite state?’
‘California,’ Ross grins, embarrassed by Luke’s attentive gaze and averting his eyes. ‘And yours?’ He throws a quick glance at Luke.
‘The one where you were born,’ Luke smiles and suddenly stands right behind Ross, placing his hands on the railing at his sides.
Lynch immediately catches his breath; he turns around, swallows thick saliva moistening his parched throat, and looks into Luke’s eyes.
‘Colorado? Why?’ he asks with an awkward laugh.
‘For giving the world such a beautiful man,’ smiles Hemmings.
‘Well, I- well, you just didn’t look in the mirror,’ Ross chuckles, lowering his head, realizing that he doesn’t know how to flirt at all, especially when his head is absolutely foggy from the closeness of Luke.
Lynch hears his soft laugh and feels his warm breath on his face; he licks his lips and looks up again. Luke puts his hands on Ross’ fingers, holding onto the railing behind him, and Lynch exhales shakily.
‘Can I kiss you, Ross?’ Luke whispers into his lips. Lynch closes his eyes and exhales.
‘Of course. Of course, you can,’ he whispers, and fireworks explode inside when Hemmings actually kisses him. He immediately raises his hands and buries them in his overgrown curly hair, feeling how soft they are; grabs his lips, noting the sweet taste of strawberry lipstick; noisily inhales, feeling the delicious smell of perfume with orange notes. It all makes him dizzy; Luke smells and feels so sweet all over while hugging Ross so confidently; the muscles under Ross’s fingers that have descended on his back are so strong, and from this contrast, Lynch can’t stand it and lets out a quiet moan into a kiss. Luke slides his tongue into his mouth, and Lynch’s head is completely blown off.
They plunge into a long sensual kiss, and the whole world seems to turn into a black Space where there is no one else but them.
When Hemmings pulls away a couple of minutes later, Ross grips the railing behind him with his fingers to keep from falling and lets out an embarrassed laugh. Luke puts his arm around Ross’ waist with one hand, puts the other on his cheek, and strokes it with his thumb.
‘You have very sweet lips,’ Hemmings whispers and kisses him again, briefly but with pleasure, running his tongue over his lips and forcing Ross to exhale noisily.
‘And you have stunningly beautiful eyes,’ Lynch whispers, and his heart does a somersault when Hemmings grins.
Ross raises his hands to Luke’s shoulders, buries his face in his neck, and breathes deeply, remembering his smell, the feeling of his warm skin under his lips, and his strong hands on his back. They stand like that in an embrace for a couple more minutes when both realize it’s time to return.
‘Will I see you again?’ Ross asks, lifting his head and looking into Luke’s eyes: so beautiful, cold blue, like crystal clear water, shining in the light of the moon and street lamps.
He, Ross, would never be as beautiful, as gorgeous, as sweet and sophisticated. But he can at least touch his beauty.
‘Of course,’ Hemmings whispers and kisses him on the nose. Ross smiles, runs his hand through his soft hair once more, and kisses him gently on the lips.
‘We will go to Australia in September with a tour-’ Ross whispers, slightly stammering with excitement, but Luke suddenly interrupts him.
‘I know.’
Ross looks up at him and exhales noisily.
‘So-’
‘Yes,’ Hemmings whispers, briefly kisses him, pulls away, and then holds out his hand. ‘Shall we go? We’ve probably already been lost.’
Ross looks at him incredulously, then smiles and wraps his fingers around his, and Luke holds them all the way to the entrance to the dressing room.
