Do You See Him?

Summary:

It’s December 2019 and Wiggly’s made his way to Hachetfield. But something’s gone wrong... His powers have gone missing! It’s up to Linda and Uncle Wiley to retrieve the tokens he requires from throughout Hatchetfield to get them back and to reverse Daddy’s price. Can Linda and Wiley keep from killing each other long enough to get the job done?

Notes:

Hello all! This was written by myself and my wonderful co-author, Ramona. We wrote this as a part of the Hatchetfield Big Bang 2022 event, and we highly recommend going to check out the other works for it. They all look really fun, so try and check them out if you get a chance!!

A special thanks to our artist, Madd, who drew us this beautiful drawing: https://warriorblood1.tumblr.com/post/690613810796625920/hurrah-hurrah-posting-day-this-is-my-art

A heads up for anyone who's still here: The way this was written includes slightly different formatting between the chapters and segments Ramona wrote (Wiggly's pieces) and what I wrote (Linda and Wiley's pieces). But we hope you enjoy them both!!! Our prologue and final chapter were written by both of us together. We hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Wiggog Y’ Wrath stands alone in his favorite corner of the Dark Kingdom, the Realm of Chaos, The Black and White. His home; his prison. If everything is going according to plan, as his Uncle Wiley says, he should be able to step through to the other side any moment now. But before the prophesied moment arrives, he decides to take in what has been his one and only cage for these past 200 years one more time.

The Black and White is no ordinary realm. What is all around Wiggly would appear to be nothing more than an endless spread of darkness to most, but it is something a little more to this Lord in Black. Wiggly can see the little impurities in the air, on the ground, and high up above. Here there is not nothing, as most of those foolish PIEP agents would have you believe. On the contrary, it is a little bit of everything. The Black and White is much like our world, but it is difficult for others to perceive. Everything is much darker and shall we say, twisted. The decrepit, unnatural creations around the god have been his playground since he was a lordling. The one closest to him twists and turns in some kind of tree-like formation that is of various shades of black and gray.

Wiggly takes a deep breath. The air here is thick and hot. It would leave quite the unpleasant feeling to most, but for Wiggly it is just a part of life in the Dark Kingdom.

The air is a gas that causes those without any protection to begin to deteriorate near instantaneously. It’s this air that has kept him safe all these years. At least, that’s what Daddy’s always told him.

Daddy. He’ll be furious when he realizes Wiggly’s left. At least, that is what Wiggly hopes. Daddy’s always been quick to show his love. And now that all of his brothers are gone, Wiggly’s had to bear the burden of all of it. His father’s way of loving is not one that we would think of. Daddy is not your typical father figure, and he’s always been pleased to point such things out to his children. He’s the oldest, the wisest, and the most powerful. Which is why he must stay on this side of the barrier. It is his children’s duty to help him maintain the balance, but Wiggly’s the only one left. With the others on the opposite side, if Wiggly leaves home too, there will surely be chaos.

Wiggly’s wanted to leave ever since his sister first escaped all those years ago. She inspired them all to leave. But Wiggly’s had no success in the matter. He keeps coming up with plans to break free, but Daddy, ever the evil bastard, forever and always manages to foil them. But not this time.

This time it’s going to work. This time has been foretold in his first disciple’s Dark Prophecy. Willabella promised this to him all those years ago, and now her hard work will finally grow into fruition. Now is the time. No matter how much Daddy takes from him, it will all be worth it. Surely those warnings of Daddy’s gifts being taken back were empty threats. He’d never go that far… Well he did sometimes, often, cause more harm than good. But that’s how they were supposed to be! That’s what they were taught. That’s what it takes to be a dark lord.

His thoughts focused on the potential consequences, Wiggly’s lost track of time. There is a loud, piercing, zapping noise from just a few feet away. It brings Wiggly back to the present. He looks over at the source of the noise and sees a small white glow. Yes, it is happening. It’ll be worth it, no matter the cost. The glow begins to grow larger and larger, slowly growing until eventually it will become large enough for Wiggly himself to step through. The tentacled monster looks away from it for a moment, it’s much brighter than anything he’s used to looking at. When he turns around, he sees someone is right behind him. It’s none other than Daddy himself. The sound must have alerted Daddy of what was going on.

“Damn.” Curses Wiggly. He really thought he’d get away with it this time.

“You really thought you could escape me, Wiggles?” Daddy places his palm on Wiggly’s face. He now caresses his child’s head. Wiggly freezes. Daddy could do quite a few different things from this position. He braces himself to ensure he doesn’t flinch as his father slowly strokes a hand down his face, leaving 3 thin, piercing trails of blood as Daddy’s fingers dig into Wiggly’s skin. As soon as his elder is no longer in contact, Wiggly darts away and looks at his father with disdain.

             “Fuck you, daddykins.”

“Language, my boy. Language.” Daddy smirks at his beloved child. Wiggly breaks Daddy’s gaze.

“Uh oh, daddykins. It looks like your time with me is almost up. What will you do without little ol’ me? You’ll be out of things to fuck with, and will only have yourself left.” Daddy puts a gnarled hand delicately over his own heart.

“You wound me, Wiggles! All I’ve ever done for you and the others was to love–” Daddy takes a step closer to his child.”-and protect each of you. And how do you all repay me? By leaving me alone to rot. Look at me now, with you gone I won’t last much longer. And if no one’s here with me… Well, why do you think you were even created?” Daddy puts a hand on Wiggly’s arm once more. Wiggly resists his instincts, and instead merely slaps him off.

“You’re wrong. It’s time for me to wiggle my way into my own life.”

“Careful, dearest Wiggles. You know I love you the most. You’ve stayed longest with me and for that I’ll always be grateful, but you know that leaving me will have its repercussions. Nothing goes unpaid and my love will be returned.”

             “No.”

             “Oh?”

“I’m going to leave this insufferable place and see the epicenter of all this chaos, just like my brothers have before me.” Wiggly turns around to see what’s become of the portal.

While they’ve been arguing, the small glow has continued to grow, it’s grown into a portal big enough for Wiggly now. It swirls with various shades of white and light gray. If Wiggly squints into the mass of energy, he can see bits and pieces of the other side. There’s someone’s hand! Perhaps Wiley’s? And over there is the bright red hue of cheap wallpaper. He can’t wait to see what other things await him on the other side.

Wiggly looks his tormentor in the eye and spits, ‘Bye-bye, Daddy. Have fun rotting away down here. You’ll never get to tickle this tumsy-wumsy ever again.”

“Wiggly, son, you’ll regret this. I swear I’ll—” Wiggly never hears the end of his father’s sentence. He steps through the portal, ready to take on the world.
