Chapter Text
🌌
Jeongyeon stood up on the top of the water tank, alone. She grinned, looking down on the city of Seoul. Her snow-white hair that wasn’t limited by her blindfold blew in the air. The air was cold, dry, and uninviting. But Jeongyeon felt nothing at all. What she searched for was roaming in the air, not aware of her yet. The creature dove down from the sky towards a children’s park, and that was her cue to vanish into thin air. And land into the park. Fortunately, it had been closed. Jeongyeon could feel the cursed energy around the entire park. The creature now faced her, giggling like a baby. Special grade, she confirmed.
Jeongyeon stretched her arms, and cracked her knuckles, all while grinning. The creature in front of her cackled loudly before coming at her at lightning speed. It was met with a roundhouse kick so powerful it crashed several blocks away. Jeongyeon smirked. She was beginning to like this. The creature dashed back to her and they started hand-to-hand combat. And she was winning. Easily. Jeongyeon had immense speed and reflexes. The creature was not so smart, and was not aware of this. Amidst delivering the creature another punch, she checked the time. Oh no. By now she must be on board a flight to Tokyo, she couldn’t afford to be late for a meeting with the Jujutsu higher-ups.
In an unseen move, Jeongyeon moved over its head and ripped it apart in a flash. She snapped her fingers and it disintegrated. Jeongyeon landed on the ground smoothly, and dusted off specks of whatnot from her navy blue suit. She looked up at the evening sky. And grinned. Done. She jumped over the park fence easily and was almost into the shadows when she heard someone annoyingly talk with someone. Now Jeongyeon isn’t the type to eavesdrop on things that have no business with her. But she just this once couldn’t help but look at them.
“I told you, didn’t I Jae?! I’m not interested in you goddamnit! I have a girlfriend!” The voice was cute, albeit a little squeaky. It reminded Jeongyeon of rabbits. Huh. She slapped her cheek. “But you never introduced her to our group, Nayeon! Sometimes I feel like she doesn’t care for you! I can be better than her!” “O-Of course she has time for me, Jae! It's just that she has priorities which are more important and she doesn’t have time!” Jeongyeon chuckled. The woman sounded too desperate. Both the figures were approaching her quickly. Even before she turned to look, she could feel her blood rushing to her cheeks, and the moment the woman locked eyes on her blindfold, made her entire body tense.
The woman’s hair was light brown, and the streetlight made it look almost golden, her red dress matched her lipstick. The woman looked at her and at first, she was a bit confused as to why the woman in front of her was wearing a goddamn blindfold in the evening, but then she looked back at the man standing beside her. And her smile grew, her face, beautiful cheeks, plump lips, light make-up, looking even more beautiful, she enveloped Jeongyeon into a tight hug. “Sweetheart! There you are! I was calling you and you weren’t picking up.” Jeongyeon glitched. Sweetheart?!
Now, as all of you saw, Yoo Jeongyeon, a special grade Jujutsu sorcerer, widely recognized as the strongest in the world, and the pride of the Yoo family, glitched when a woman hugged her. The hug was tight, yet an odd feeling of comfort seeped through her chest and Jeongyeon felt like not breaking off the hug. She was overwhelmed by the positive energy flowing in that woman. The woman looked up and winked at Jeongyeon before placing a wet kiss on her cheek. “Baby, aren’t you a bit late today?” And she stared at her, one eyebrow raised as if expecting Jeongyeon to say something. Huh, Jeongyeon removed herself from the hug and slid a hand to grab the woman’s waist. Let’s save this woman.
“Oh hey, honey, sorry. Got out of the meeting a bit late.” Jeongyeon smiled and patted the head of the cute woman in her arms. The man looked between them with a confused face. He looked at Jeongyeon briefly. He was jealous and suspicious already. “Um, Nayeon, why does your girlfriend wear a blindfold?” He thought she was blind. Jeongyeon chuckled lightly and put her hand forward. “Oh, allow me to introduce myself. I am Yoo Jeongyeon, Nayeon’s girlfriend. I just had eye surgery recently, although I must rest. But I have a job that requires field work so the blindfold’s occupying my eyes. For now.” Both Nayeon and the man seemed to believe that.
The man huffed in defeat. “Ah, I see. Nayeon, we’ll see each other next week right?” “Of course, Jae. Goodbye!” She gave him a blinding smile, (the same one he fell for) and turned to an expression-less Jeongyeon. The man walked away, slowly. And that Jeongyeon’s cue to remove her hand from Nayeon’s waist and leave. “Well then, I must-” “What! Wait- no, where do you think you’re going? Stay here with me!” Jeongyeon still had her body half-turned when she looked back at the woman. “What do you want now, miss? I saved you from that unwanted situation, but I must go now. I have a flight-” “He’s watching!” “....Who?” “Jae! That annoying guy is still watching!”
Jeongyeon sensed cursed energy consisting of anger and jealousy in the alley behind them. She sighed. He’s still there. God, what kind of a mishap is this? Nayeon tugged her hand and started walking ahead. “Pretend to be lovey-dovey with me.” Jeongyeon didn’t budge. “Pretty please!” Nayeon unleashed a curse that was unheard of to Jeongyeon. The ‘puppy eyes’ curse. And it worked wonders on her. She immediately pulled Nayeon towards her as they walked ahead. Nayeon grinned. When they reached a busy street, Nayeon looked back, disappointed to still see her co-worker following them. “That guy is literally stalking you, how are you okay with this?” Jeongyeon inquired as she assessed the situation.
Nayeon gave her a sad smile. “Yeah, I hate that too, but he’s kinda my boss’s best friend….” Nayeon trailed off as Jeongyeon looked at her pitifully. “You get what I mean…at least now he’ll leave me alone for a while. That’s okay too.” She displayed this bunny smile that made Jeongyeon feel like she stood in a field of Sakura trees. She put her hands in her pocket. Nayeon removed a pamphlet from her purse and held it in Jeongyeon’s face. “My entire company’s staff is hanging out at the Seoul Jazz Festival, and they expect me to be there. A couple’s entry is free, so let’s go.” She whipped her head and started walking down the road towards the bus stop.
Jeongyeon just looked at her as she walked ahead. What was this woman thinking when she decided to blatantly dictate the sorcerer? As if she would listen to this woman she met barely ten minutes ago. So she stood there with her hands remaining in her pockets. When Nayeon didn’t hear footsteps following her, she turned back. “Well, aren’t you coming?” “No, miss. I’m not coming. I have a flight for Tokyo to catch, and I'm already awfully late for it.” Nayeon’s eyes widened in panic. “What?! Why?! I- I mean…..look. There’s no way Jae will keep the fact that I have a partner away from the entire staff. And our company is a major provider for the outfits there, okay! We HAVE to be there. If I don't go there, I'll be done for!”
Jeongyeon shrugged. “Not my problem. I’ve already helped you, but I must leave now.” Nayeon’s face showed heavy disappointment as she let out the ‘puppy eyes’ curse. But Jeongyeon looked away immediately, she was NOT going to fall for that awful curse anymore. “Hey, please just help me some more. In return, I'll buy you tickets back to Tokyo tomorrow, please! If I go there alone now, it's gonna be super embarrassing and they might think that I really have no partner!” Nayeon’s eyes were glassy but Jeongyeon didn’t need to look at her to know that. She gave Nayeon one look-over, and looked at her watch again. She made a split-second decision (that changed her entire life) and held out her hand to Nayeon. “Then don’t go. Come with me to Tokyo.”
Nayeon blinked, astonished. “M-Me? Why? Would I come with you to Tokyo?!” Jeongyeon gave her a pointed look. “Hey, you want to avoid an embarrassing situation, and you owe me help anyways. So inform your co-workers that you’re leaving for a two-day urgent trip to Tokyo with your girlfriend. And we’ll be free to go.” Jeongyeon’s hand was still open. (And Nayeon felt ashamed of hesitating to hold it) Nayeon slowly walked toward her and held her hand. Softly. Slowly. And this time, Jeongyeon thought she might actually be transported into a sakura field for sure. She took a deep breath, looked at Nayeon, and then called for a taxi.
🌌
Nayeon munched on in-flight snacks as looked out of the window from her seat (which she bravely fought with Jeongyeon for) while Jeongyeon read a magazine beside her. When she got bored, she looked back at the sorcerer who seemed to be reading the magazine even with a blindfold. People around her, amazingly, didn’t seem to mind that. “Hey, how can you read with a blindfold on?” Jeongyeon transferred her attention from the magazine to the woman sitting beside her. “I just can, miss. It’s still not a major issue.” Nayeon raised her brow. “But if you had an eye surgery there’s no way you can do any activity, okay? Are you lying to me?”
Jeongyeon put the magazine down, and faced the brown-haired beauty beside her. “Why does it bother you? If I read with a blindfold on or not?” Nayeon showed offense. “Of course, it bothers me! You’re my pretend girlfriend and it's gonna be so weird when my colleagues and friends see you. You-” Nayeon looked at Jeongyeon from head to toe, taking in the dark blue zip-up jacket with a high collar, (that's so fairly wide!) and slim-fit matching black pants and black dress boots. “You look like you’re cosplaying something! What anime is this?”
Jeongyeon frowned. This woman had the audacity to compare her sorcerer’s uniform to an anime cosplay! Atrocious! I’d say. She sighed. “You wouldn’t understand.” She reached for her jacket's pocket and took out her rimless rectangular purple sunglasses. She removed her blindfold and wore them, all while turning her back on Nayeon. That irked the said woman. Jeongyeon then turned back to her. “Happy!” Even without having any sort of eye contact with Jeongyeon, Nayeon hitched. Short snow-white hair, small-sized face, pouty lips, dainty nose, paired with classic sunglasses covering her eyes – a perfect girl crush image.
Nayeon huffed and turned towards the window. Her heart was racing, she felt pulled towards the stranger sitting beside her, and she couldn’t control the blush forming on her face. Great. Way to go, Nabongs. “You and your stupid eyes.” That I want to see so bad. Jeongyeon smirked and went back to reading her magazine. Nayeon put on music and stared outside the window. She was usually someone who talked with her company merrily. But this stupid, annoying, and beautiful stranger liked to read, and left alone. She wanted to annoy Jeongyeon so badly.
Nayeon looked at the said woman. She was picking the last magazine after thoroughly completing all others. Yes, Jeongyeon loved to read. At her home, she had this enormous library that contained thousands and thousands of scribes and books ranging from those written in ancient times to the books published just a week ago. She loved collecting anything she could read that irked her interests. She felt Nayeon’s eyes on her and turned to face her. She raised a perfectly arched eyebrow. “Nothing. I was just thinking. Now that I'm visiting Japan, I should visit my brother.” Jeongyeon was amused. “Your brother works in Japan?”
Nayeon scrolled through her phone. “Not really. He’s a songwriter and a record producer. He often visits Japan for collaborations.” Jeongyeon nodded. “I’ll arrange for it while my work’s in progress. We can separate once we land……” Jeongyeon felt an odd kind of guilt as she suggested that. No, she thought. Nayeon’s my responsibility. I can’t just let her go. Right? And perhaps Nayeon felt that too, because her facial expression seemed hurt. “If you want! That is.” Jeongyeon sighed and looked ahead. Great. Now I seem like an annoying stranger hellbent on getting rid of her. When she’s not bad company at all. She’s great. Yeah, that’s right. Awesome. Huh?!
“No, that's okay. I can just surprise my brother. He’ll be glad.” At least someone would be glad I'm here. She turned away. Jeongyeon was NOT liking this sad expression Nayeon held on her face. Seeing her so sulky, and out of it irked her. She felt her heart constrict at that. An air hostess was approaching passengers with another round of snacks. So while Nayeon had her attention on her phone, Jeongyeon made a wild guess and brought something. She cleared her throat and lightly tapped Nayeon’s shoulder. That wasn’t enough. Jengyeon sighed and tapped again with more force. Nayeon looked at her and blinked. “What?”
Ohh, this girl was gorgeous huh, endearing eyes, a mole hidden in her right eyebrow, pointy nose, chubby cheeks, and was that a cute bunny tooth peeking between her slightly open heart-shaped lips? “Mmmm, excuse me? Why are you staring?” Jeongyeon blinked before discerning reality and clearing her throat. She held up the snacks. “I’m sorry for sounding quite rude and being an idiot. So, um, a peace offering?” As soon as Nayeon’s sight landed on the gummy bears and the milk Boba tea, she let out a squeal of extreme delight. She grabbed them with lightning speed and ripped the gummy bear packet open. And started eating them immediately. “Gwumy beej awe my fav-umm!”
Jeongyeon widened her eyes as Nayeon moaned mid-bite. There was something about the cute woman that intrigued her. She did not know what it was but she was as if being pulled towards Nayeon. She didn’t want to make it so obvious because that would be improper, she was not the kind of woman that would easily assume the situation. It would take a little more than a smile and a little bit of charm, but nonetheless, Jeongyeon liked what she felt. Nayeon thought it was stupid to accompany a stranger on a flight and to be doing such a thing but deep down inside, she was happy. She could not remember the last time she felt this way. She felt captivated and inspired as Jeongyeon grasped her attention – as if Jeongyeon had been waiting for Nayeon her entire life.
She scrunched her nose. No, ew. That sounds so cringy. She shook her head and looked at Jeongyeon to divert her thoughts. “So, what’s your field job?” Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon, unsure what to say. “What do you do?” She questioned back instead. Nayeon leaned into her seat, sipping her Boba tea. “I just joined Louis Vuitton Korea's designer team last month. It's a dream job, you know! The interview was rather hard, I thought I wouldn't get recruited.” She grinned as she popped a gummy bear in her mouth. “But somebody up in the sky heard my prayers, and safe to say, I'm a designer at Louis Vuitton now!!”
Nayeon sounded so delightful talking about her job, that Jeongyeon wished she could say that about hers. The life of a Jujutsu sorcerer is violent, grueling, and often brief, and she knew it all too well. Every single day, sorcerers exposed themselves to unprecedented danger. They shouldered a great responsibility — protecting normal humans from cursed spirits — but that responsibility came with huge risks. Every time they went into battle, they took the chance of not coming back, or else returning with serious injuries. Jeongyeon looked at a smiling Nayeon. “Sounds like a wonderful job.”
Nayeon nodded eagerly. “Speaking of which, you didn’t tell me where you work..?” Jeongyeon sighed. “Not as interesting as yours though, you won’t like it.” Nayeon pouted and smiled. She subconsciously put a hand on Jeongyeon’s shoulder. “Yah, I'm not someone to judge a source of income, unless it's illegal. Wait……is it illegal?” Jeongyeon snorted. “It's um…rather, in the middle of it. I can’t classify it like that.” Nayeon frowned and raised her brow in response. “Don’t beat around the bush, Jeongyeon. Just tell me what you do!!” She was whining now, and Jeongyeon found it annoying BUT cute. Wow, her thoughts were disorganized when it came to this woman.
“Look! I, um, get assigned to certain missions. And I must execute them, no matter what. Yeah. That.” Nayeon grinned. “What are you, a spy? Are you traveling to Tokyo for a mission?! Ooh! Is this like Knight And Day?!” Jeongyeon pinched her nose as Nayeon excitedly looked around and clapped. “Are you gonna kill everybody on the plane?!” Several heads turned and Nayeon’s loud and squeaky voice, mostly with horror on the faces. Jeongyeon, shocked, slapped a quick hand over the woman’s face and muttered countless apologies to everyone. She looked at Nayeon and then shook her vigorously. “One, I'm NOT a spy! Two, I'm NOT in Tokyo for a mission! Three, this is NOT Knight And Day! And four, I’M NOT GONNA KILL EVERYBODY ON THE PLANE!!” Jeongyeon whisper-screamed, making it clear to Nayeon.
Nayeon looked disappointed, as if she was looking for a thrill, a kind of an adventure. “Come on,” She pouted. “I thought you might have an exciting field job!” Jeongyeon stared at the woman for a whole minute. “I mean, my job is pretty exciting for me, but it's risky. And normal people don’t like it.” Nayeon shrugged. “See? Totally sounds like a spy. Are you sure you’re not one? You know, I will absolutely not tell anyone if you include me in your mission. Isn’t that why you're taking me to Tokyo?” Jeongyeon sighed. “Nayeon, I'm a Jujutsu sorcerer.”
Nayeon paused. “You’re a………what?” “I'm a Jujutsu sorcerer. I am trained and employed to defend humanity from cursed spirits.” There was silence looming over them for an entire two minutes as none of them spoke. Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon with a wary gaze, awaiting her reaction. Nayeon, burst out laughing. She cackled. Jeongyeon, was low-key not so disappointed. What would she expect from this annoying yet cute fashion designer who lived in a safe bubble of happiness? A woman who had nothing to worry about. Nayeon’s laugh was turning into a light giggle. “You….this- Is definitely cosplay, right? A very funny joke, indeed.” There went another round of laughter. “Defending humanity!”
Jeongyeon huffed and looked ahead. Why did she feel annoyed over the fact that this woman refused to believe in her occupation? There were countless people on this earth unaware of it, yet this woman laughing at her reality irked her. Huh. Nayeon couldn’t help but swoon when she saw the woman beside her grumpy, like a child. Pouting in silly anger. As if she was a kid whose parents refused to believe that Superman just flew over their heads and winked at it. She looked super cute when grumpy. Wait. Nabongs, what the hell?
“You’re not the only one, you know. Refusing to believe that I am, indeed, a Jujutsu sorcerer. That’s okay, I don't need your validation. I have a peculiar job that very much exists, and I love it even if it's the riskiest on this earth.” Nayeon’s jaw dropped in mock amusement. “Oh yeah? And how do you fight those…what? Yeah, cursed spirits?” Nayeon giggled as she pronounced the words. “Fight them? Gun them down? Or with some Avengers superpower?” Yoo Jeongyeon felt this was a downright insult to her immense amounts of cursed energy and dangerously powerful techniques. “An Avengers superpower?! What the actual fuck! Woman, that’s fictional!! I exorcise my cursed spirits, don’t waste my time fighting them!”
“Well, just so you know, what you’re saying right now sounds fictional.” Jeongyeon was fuming. This cute woman dared to doubt the world’s greatest Jujutsu sorcerer?! Her ego was HURT. Just then, the pilot announced that they will be landing shortly. That made her look out of the window and think of something. This woman wants a thrill, doesn’t she? Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon with a determined face. “You know what? You’re kinda right. My job sounds highly fictional, but there’s a certain thrill to it that you won’t even find as a spy.” As soon as she said that, there was a light gleam in Nayeon’s eyes. Like she was anticipating what the sorcerer would say next. True to that, Jeongyeon leaned closer and chose her next words carefully. “Would you like to experience that thrill, Nayeon?”
Nayeon gulped as she heard the sorcerer. Her words had a certain click to them, and the determination in her eyes, along with a confident tone indicated that she’d enjoyed this thrill for quite some time. And she loved it. Nayeon reckoned that if this grumpy pants seemed so confident about it, she could give it a try, right? Besides, what else would she do in Tokyo if she wasn’t able to meet her brother? This sounded like a good waste of time. Nayeon held Jeongyeon’s hand just in time as the plane landed with a thud, still running. She grinned. “Okay, Jeongyeon. I would like to experience your thrill.” The sorcerer smirked.
🌌
Kiyotaka Ijichi stood waiting at the entrance of the airport. He waited for one of Tokyo Jujutsu High’s best teachers to arrive. She did arrive. However, with a woman who could pass off as an energizer bunny clinging to her arm. She was looking around in awe, and Jeongyeon looked bored. She noticed him, and waved at him with a smirk. Ijichi straightened his posture and bowed towards them as they reached him. Nayeon’s attention finally fell on the tall man. Jeongyeon was still taller.
“Ijichi! Nice to meet you again! Get the car and let’s get going. I wouldn’t want to be late for the meeting with the old man.” The assistant director only partially heard Jeongyeon as his attention was mostly on Nayeon. He adjusted his glasses. “Uh, Jeongyeon-San, who’s this?” Nayeon beamed and stretched her hand forward. “Hello! I’m Nayeon. Jeongyeon’s girlfriend!” Ijichi blinked to ensure he’d heard it right. “Her what?!” Jeongyeon, tomato red, pinched her pretend girlfriend. “Let me handle this!”
She turned to Ijichi. “We’ll talk about this later. For now, let’s get going. Please.” The request sounded more like an order but Ijichi would never go against the sorcerer’s words. He nodded, grabbed their luggage, and started walking toward the car. The entire time Nayeon kept on blabbering something or the other as she discovered the city of Tokyo, and Jeongyeon pretended to listen, rolling her eyes once in a while. (But she’d surrender to a cursed spirit than admit that she listened to all of it intently.)
The car ride began and Jeongyeon dozed off, while Nayeon gazed out of the city with the awe of a toddler, and clicked one picture every millisecond. Ijichi informed them when they had arrived, and Nayeon was confused because they traveled a mountainous road only to come across a forest?! Jeongyeon smirked and whispered “The magic begins,” as Ijichi crossed the protective barrier that hid the entire property. And that was when Im Nayeon’s jaw dropped. Tokyo Jujutsu High was a broad campus of several buildings built in a traditional Japanese architectural style, operating under the guise of a Buddhist temple. The school building was well hidden on Tokyo's outskirts, far and high in the mountains. Naturally, there were a lot of trees around the property to further obscure the location. Some elements other than the buildings reflected the Buddhist theme. There were several statues of deities, shrines, and torii gates around the campus. The school grounds included training grounds, courtyards, dormitories, and classrooms, among a variety of other amenities.
Nayeon felt like she’d entered a whole different world as she stepped out of the car, and Jeongyeon looked like she’d grown up here. Her casual stance, and her words were making Nayeon dizzy at this point. Jeongyeon shrugged as her pretend girlfriend stared at her like the Pikachu meme. She was loving this. “Welcome to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, commonly referred to as Tokyo Jujutsu High, Nayeon.” Ijichi stood beside the both of them, confused about their behavior yet timid in his own way.
Jeongyeon walked up to the astonished woman. “Would you like to see around?” Nayeon did not hear her the first time as she was busy staring at Jeongyeon’s smile. The sorcerer snapped her fingers in front of her face to get her out of her daydreaming. “W-What?” Nayeon asked as she looked around and scratched her neck in embarrassment. “I said, would you like to look around the school to pass time?” Nayeon nodded eagerly, she was dying to learn more about this magical place. Jeongyeon nodded and looked at Ijichi. “Tour her around, make sure she’s entertained while I'm away. I’ll take care of her when I'm back.”
Nayeon frowned. “Why can’t you show me around?” She sounded genuinely disappointed and Jeongyeon sighed. Yeah, it did not make her happy when her pretend girlfriend was sad. She smiled and faced her. “I have a really important meeting right now, but I promise when I'm back, I'll take you to the cafeteria and treat you real good.” The sorcerer grinned a blinding smile at the end and Nayeon’s heart did a gymnastics routine. She nodded and looked away, blushing. Also hoping that blush wasn’t seen. Jeongyeon patted Ijichi on his back which made him jump and walked away, giggling. The assistant director adjusted his glasses and looked at Nayeon. “I’ll lead the way, miss.”
The tour went pretty well, albeit Ijichi was a tad bit exhausted at the number of questions Nayeon had. She had countless, to say the least. Their last stop, after skipping the cafeteria, was the training grounds. Ijichi pointed out to a few students honing their Jujutsu skills with various objects Nayeon had no idea existed. Yet her attention went to a lone man who trained at the end. He played around with two wolves, or dogs, Nayeon could not discern. He was tall, with spiky blue dark hair and a standard Jujutsu Tech uniform. And Nayeon did not know why, but she had a strong feeling she knew that man. She pointed towards him. “Who’s that?”
Before Ijichi could reply, both the animals looked in Nayeon’s direction and started running towards her with lightning speed. Fear clouded her mind as she took a slow step back, horrified at the scene closing at her. But she hadn’t noticed the man himself run behind them too, and he took a giant leap in front of them to stop the (now realized) dogs. They stopped at their master’s command, and Nayeon almost fell due to the suddenness of everything. The man’s hand jerked forward as he balanced her, when she saw his face. Of course, she knew him. Tall stature, dark blue eyes, and spiky hair, of course, she fucking knew that man. “Jaebeom!!”
Jaebeom stood in absolute shock as he watched his sister stand on the grounds of Jujutsu High. “N-Nayeon?!” He dropped her hand with a fearful expression on his usually stoic face. “What are you doing here?!” Im Nayeon was now pissed. “I should be asking YOU that, you dumbfuck. What are YOU doing here?!” Jaebeom lowered his head with no explanation for this moment, while his sister took in his appearance. “Hold on,” Nayeon stared at him from head to toe. “Oh my god! Are you a Jujutsu man too!”
“Uh, i-its actually Jujutsu Sorcerer, Miss Im.” Ijichi interjected timidly. Nayeon turned toward him with a glare. “Shut up for a minute Ijichi! Let me talk to my brother, who has been deceiving me, and our family for about I don’t know how many years now…....” Jaebeom sighed as he faced a tearful Nayeon. His stoic and calm nature was taking over, and he held his sister's shoulders to calm down. “Look Nayeon-” “Don’t Nayeon me, Jaebeom!” Nayeon jerked his hands off so hard, that her shoulders stung a little. “What is the meaning of this!” Jaebeom remained calm, and that was one of the things that had always irked his sister. “If you’ll just let me explain, Nayeon. I’ll tell you all of it.” Not like he had any other choice now.
Nayeon huffed, blinking her tears away. “Well then, don’t wait.” She looked away, pouting. Jaebeom quietly put his hands in his pockets. “Firstly, can I know what you’re doing here? In Japan?” Nayeon frowned. “Answer my question first, goddamnit! What I'm doing here doesn’t matter!” “Nayeon, you know who I am. I don’t have to tell you I'm a Jujutsu sorcerer. I work here. But what are you doing here?” Nayeon kept mum. What was she supposed to tell him? Right now, she was in a rather difficult situation, apart from newly discovering her brother’s secrets. Well, if her brother could lie, so could she. So she held her head high and smirked. “I’m visiting my girlfriend here.”
Jaebeom had the equal amount of shock his sister possessed seeing his face here. But he knew he’d be a big fat hypocrite if he asked more questions about this. And judging Nayeon’s smug expression, he knew she was waiting to put him down. That competition they have on little things just never goes away. He closed his open mouth and smiled. “Wow. Awesome.” He nodded, and his sister rolled her eyes. Jaebeom sighed and looked around. Talk about complicated situations. “So, where is this girlfriend of yours? Do I know her?” Nayeon wondered when the sorcerer and her part-time pretend girlfriend would be back. But she did not have to wonder much, the person of interest was walking up to them with the signature grin on her face. Nayeon pointed towards Jeongyeon. “That’s her.”
Even if Jaebeom had not decided to display shock on his face at his sister’s earlier revelations, he couldn’t hide his astonishment on this one even if he wanted to. He blinked, but the greatest sorcerer on the earth did not disappear as she walked toward them. She was just about to speak, and in a flash, Jaebeom had Jeongyeon held by her collar, who had a confused expression on her face. “Yoo Sensei, with all due respect,” His grip on the collar grew. “Why are you dating my sister?!”
