Okay!
Basically, in this AU, the Apocalypse doesn't happen. In eighth grade, the main four were put together for a group project in RLA, tasked witth writing a dystopian-based short story. Ironically, they did theirs on a Zombie Apocalypse. Besides Quint and Jack, none of them knew each other beforehand. Jack didn't have his kinda weird crush on June, either.
I actually like to think they didn't like each other in the beginning because of how different they all are, but they slowly grew together.
Fastfoward to their Sophomore Year of Highschool. A little bit of a timeskip, yes, but it's only cause I want them able to drive and have shitty low-wage part-time jobs, cause it's funny
Extra Stuff:
Rezzoch is the principal of the school, and no she will not be some merciless tyrant like she is in the books. She's just strict. ( I'm gonna use she/her for Rezzoch, yes I know she's a boy in the books but I honestly cannot imagine her as a boy at this point) Thrull is vice principal, same goes for him as far as personality goes. The Good Monsters will be the teachers!
Jack and Evie are adoptive siblings. Their adopted parents ( The Hawthornes ) are the type to go on business trips and never really be at home. No the Robinsons do not exist because. why not 😭 Evie's in her Junior year btw.
Jack and June are both in the Newspaper Club. This time however, Jack joins solely because he likes photography, no impress-june type strings attached. June's also president of the Newspaper Club
Dirk can drive. He's sixteen, the rest are fifteen. He had his birthday early. He does Home EC.
Quint ALSO does a bunch of clubs, like robotics, UIl, etc.
Big Mama is DIRKS car in this AU, since he's the only one who can drive
