The monster formerly known as Emil Blonsky roamed about the mountainous region he called home for decades now, absolutely bored out of his mind. It's been this way for so long, gods have left the world or shed themselves of their fighting spirit, giant monsters have returned to dormancy, the aliens hide themselves making them impossible to find and most of the worlds greatest threats like the Mad Titan, the Giant Hydra and other manmade freaks like himself are gone. There was no one left that could challenge him, most people would take it as an opportunity to dominate and conquer, subjugate those beneath them, to attain power over others.
To Blonsky all of those concepts were meaningless to him. Ever since he became a young adult all those years ago, all he craved for was the thrill of a fight. Whether it was close quarters, outsmarting enemy soldiers in gunplay or through chasing prey through foreign territory. To not have any sort of challenge…….there was no purpose beyond waiting for another one.
Then he saw it, a giant blue beam of pure energy, shooting up from the town in the distance. It looked oddly similar to the attack of the so-called “King of the Monsters” but it couldn’t be the same. The attack was too small and whoever fired it was puny compared to the beast. Having nothing better to do and eager to see if this could be a new challenger Blonsky abandoned his home and made giant leaps to the town, not caring at all if he trampled or injured anyone in his way. Nothing matters more than a fight, nothing at all.
He made it to the town, people were screaming in terror and fleeing for their lives. So much that many ignored Blonsky who was perched on a rooftop like a hawk. This was an excellent sign, nothing could be more exciting at this point, all he had to do was meet his new opponent. And within moments he did.
He looked very similar to the one people call “Superman”, he even sported an almost identical outfit, but anyone with a functioning intellect could tell you it wasn’t him. He sported back spines that looked like Dorsal fins you’d find on fish, he bore a tail that looked muscular yet thin and his head had spikes instead of hair that glowed eerily blue. His skin was discolored to an unnatural white and gray, his eyes and mouth glowed with a blue light but most curiously of all was that he looked scared.
Blonsky could tell exactly what he was, a manmade freak. Likely some sort of genetic combination of that King of the Monsters and Superman. People, always eager to play god. But to him it was perfect.
“Stop running. Not monster! I’m hero, I help!”
Blonsky smirked as his bone spikes shifted and cracked, flexing his neck as he casually approached the thing.
“So you’re the new freak in town eh?”
Said freak turned to look at him.
“Am Bizarro! You monster!”
Almost in a second the freak went from where he was standing to landing a massive punch in Blonsky’s face, sending him into the nearby Gas Station. The explosion rocked the small town, cracking the streets and nearby buildings, destroying the glass windows and spewing fire into the sky.
Yet even so Blonsky merely got up and walked through the flames, the heat not bothering him in the slightest as he gave the left side of his face a brief rub before smirking.
“You want to fight me, freakshow?! Well then COME ON !”
Blonsky went into a sprint, his pace increasing in speed as he charged down the streets. The freak who called himself Bizarro levitated in the air, his form being flat with his hands outstretched in front of him. The signature form of Superman. Blonsky only laughed as he ran faster and faster as Bizarro sped through the air to his position.
Then the two crashed into each other in the center of the town, the shockwave of kinetic energy flattening the nearby buildings and tearing up the streets leaving only a crater in which Blonsky and Bizarro were. At least before Blonksy feinted a left hook and then used his free right arm to perform an uppercut directly into his opponent's stomach. The sheer strength sent Bizarro into supersonic speeds as he desperately attempted to regain aerial footing, but Blonsky wouldn’t give him a chance.
With a mighty leap he closed the distance before immediately axing Bizzaro into the mountains that he dwelled in all those years. The force was so strong that the mountainside gave way into a landslide, burying his opponent alive.
As Blonsky landed back on solid earth he ran into the outskirts of the city, refusing to believe his opponent fell so easily. And to his immense joy, it was not as a blue energy beam tore through the rubble and Bizarro burst out, looking more angry than hurt.
“You hurt Bizarro?! Bizarro hurt you back!”
The freak launched himself at Blonsky again but it wouldn’t work a second time. Blonsky ducked just as Bizarro flew at him, avoiding his attack and grabbing his leg. Without hesitation Blonsky threw him into the ground, the force making an almost comedic sized hole in Bizarro’s shape. He then did it again and again and again before throwing him into the forestation, trees being torn up and shredded in the process.
When Bizarro got up to regain his bearings Blonsky simply charged forward and gave a mighty right hook before effectively dragging him through the dirt, head first. Blonsky was laughing as he did so, this was the most fun he’s had in YEARS! But his arrogance left him distracted as he didn’t feel the heat building up in Bizarro’s face until he let it all out. The blast of radiation burnt Blonsky’s hand despite the healing being almost instantaneous, Bizarro taking the opportunity to grapple at Blonsky’s torso before lifting him into the sky. The one place where he had no advantage.
Blonsky never stopped laughing, of course his opponent would take him to the sky! It proved he had something resembling a brain. But that didn’t mean he was helpless either. With a mighty double axe to the back Bizarro’s grip on him loosened. Then a knee to the stomach, the spike that protruded from his knee piercing the gut of his opponent. That did the trick, Bizarro recoiled from the pain which left Blonsky free to grapple him instead. The two twisted and turned in the air before Blonsky managed to catch Bizarro in a chokehold, kneeing him in the back which caused the freak to lose control of his levitation. Driving his knee into the freak’s back while holding his head, Blonsky forced Bizarro to face the full brunt of the impact as the two crashed into the earth at jet speed. Bizarro’s sounds of pain music to Blonsky’s ears as they eventually stopped on a cliffside.
Grabbing his opponent’s face again, Blonsky lifted Bizarro up to meet him at eye level.
“That's all you got, freak?” Blonsky roared, “I’m just getting WARMED UP!”
Letting go of Bizarro for a brief second Blonsky connected a mighty punch into the stomach of his opponent, sending sliding against the cliffside with such force that when he slid off the entire cliff cracked and collapsed on itself. Blonsky simply watched as Bizarro fell into the deep forests in the distance. He laughed wholeheartedly while slamming his fists into his chest like an ape, roaring into the high heavens.
“COME ON, SHOW ME MORE, FREAK. GIVE ME A REAL FIGHT!!!”
Once again the blue beam of Radiation spewed from where his opponent landed, but Blonsky saw something was different about him. His form went from mildly muscular looking to growing a lot more, making his build comparable to that of Hulk, his eyes and mouth went from mildly glowing to almost smoldering in the heat he was producing yet somehow not to the point of causing him pain. His gaze looked much more furious now, Blonsky smirked. The REAL fight started now.
Bizarro flew at bullet speed at Blonsky again, but instead of aiming for a heavy physical blow he fired his radiation vision which traveled at even faster speeds than before. Blonsky merely raised the hand he burnt before, taking the blow with no effort as his body had adapted to be resistant to the energy but in the process Bizarro dealt the physical blow he was aiming for on his hand. The new strength was so powerful that it caused not only the hand but his entire arm to shatter internally from the blow.
Blonsky roared in pain, the first time in the fight his being was harmed in any meaningful way. But it only added to the thrill as his body was recovering from the injury, as usual.
“Strong little freak are you? Well I guess you’re not so little anymore, that means I don’t have to hold back anymore!”
Blonsky roared to the high heavens as he charged Bizarro like a madman, the freak of which retaliated by firing his radiation beams in an attempt to slow Blonsky down. Needless to say it didn’t work as Blonsky powered through the energy, not caring about the pain before grabbing Bizarro by the torso and flinging the two into the air at sonic speeds. He then forced the freak into the ground causing them to briefly “hop” before doing a somersault and throwing Bizarro into the forest’s edge which then shifted into the two entering a massive city, the freak hitting a giant electronic billboard that had a familiar bald man on it. Blonsky grinned as he saw Bizarro smash into multiple vehicles before coming into a stop after being consumed by the concrete that made up the streets.
People were fleeing from the site, screaming in terror as Blonsky casually walked to where his opponent was, flinging any vehicles in his way with no regard for the people. Why should he? He was one of the strongest beings ever to exist, there’s no reason to care for such inferior beings. All he cared about was to see if his opponent still had some fight left in him. When he got to the hole however, it was completely empty.
“What the-?”
The ground beneath him then cracked before Bizarro shot from it landing a full blow directly to his face, sending him flying backwards into a giant semi trailer. Before Blonsky could so much as twitch Bizarro then grabbed his legs and spun him around so fast Blonsky thought it was a result of some sort of hallucinogen before Bizarro flung him into the complex before taking off at a faster speed.
Catching up in mere seconds Bizarro landed punch after punch against Blonsky who was helpless in the air, each blow increasing the speed of Blonsky’s flight which Bizarro somehow was able to keep up with before both of them crashed through multiple skyscrapers, causing most to collapse from their sheer kinetic energy.
The impact slowed Blonsky down before he was able to grab the side of a skyscraper to stop him from flying before grabbing Bizarro with a right hook and slamming him into the building. He could hear the people inside screaming as Bizarro crashed into their desks, walls and rooms. Bizarro wasn’t phased and got up just as fast but Blonsky caught him in his free hand and threw him into the upper sections of the building, climbing like an ape to catch up where Bizarro met him at the windows.
The two then raced each other as they both slammed and punched the other while they flew/climbed the exterior of the building, their blows becoming more intense and destroying more of the building the further they went. When they reached the top Blonsky grabbed Bizarro and threw him downwards into the very roof of the giant fifty-story skyscraper.
With a titanic roar followed with a maniacal laugh Blonsky dropped with a double axe handle right on Bizarro sending both into the building, their combined weight and speed effortlessly tearing through the concrete floors with the building being weakened to such an extent that it collapsed in on itself, taking Blonsky, Bizarro and all the people inside it down with it.
The dust settled with Blonsky bursting out of it, slightly winded and exhausted but feeling very triumphant. He laughed for a moment before stepping on the rubble and giving another massive roar to the sky, the greatest fight of his life and he had won. In the back of his mind he knew this meant that he would inevitably return to the days of being bored out in the wilderness but he didn’t care about that now. His greatest opponent in years, the first one to ever make him even slightly concerned for his own life, had fallen as will anyone who dared challenge him. He was the Abomination. No! Doomsday .
But as if in some sick twist of karma, Blonsky felt the ground shake before a familiar blue beam shot from it, cutting the concrete slabs and steel beams in moments. Bizarro floated slowly from his resting place; his clothing almost entirely torn, he was missing some of his head spikes and dorsal plates and most of all he looked absolutely, mindlessly furious .
Blonsky simply gave a tired sigh before going back into his aggressive state, he wanted this fight to be over already. He held nothing back when he gave a massive punch aimed at Bizarros head. The attack landed perfectly.
But Bizarro didn’t move.
He didn’t so much as flinch from it. Nor did he react in any meaningful way.
Blonsky looked in sheer shock before bringing down another double axe on his opponent, double the force would make him go flying.
But it also did nothing.
For the first time ever in his life since becoming a monster, Blonsky felt fear seeping in. He kept punching, making sure to give it all his effort in each one. Nothing happened.
Then Bizarro moved, grabbing his fist and dragging it away from his face.
“I am hero!” Bizarro roared. “You are monster! Bizarro DESTROY YOU! ”
Bizarro then crushed Blonsky’s fist with seemingly little effort.
Blonsky roared from the pain but continued his efforts, having faith that his healing factor would restore him back to normal. But as he kept trying to hurt the damn freak he felt his hand still being broken when it should have been healed.
Could… could he be at his limit?
Ever since Blonsky fought the Hulk those many years ago and had gotten all these enhancements to his body he never felt like he HAD a limit. But then again, he never had a challenger strong enough to test it.
Now being in a self preservation panic Blonsky tried to do something, anything to phase Bizarro who simply stood there, arms now crossed as if to taunt him further.
Then his eyes burned blue.
Unlike before where the energy looked like a blue fire, now it looked like a precise laser. It effortlessly pierced Blonsky’s shoulder, burning a hole and any muscles inside it. Blonsky’s only good arm was now useless.
Wasting no time Bizarro grabbed nearby steel beams before impaling Blonsky’s body at speeds no eye can see start. No matter how hard the Abomination struggled, it was pointless as Bizarro kept impaling him with more and more beams until Blonsky simply couldn’t move.
Bizarro then gave a massive stomp on Blonsky’s chest, standing triumphant over his fallen opponent. After taking a moment to soak in the victory, Bizarro's eyes burned blue again, this time the energy looked like its normal, blue fiery form. It fired at Blonsky’s chest, slowly burning through the tough skin that was made to defend from almost anything.
Blonsky couldn’t talk, he could barely breathe, he didn’t react so much to the immense pain he was in. But even so he lacked fear now, it was pointless to be afraid of death.
If anything, he was happy.
Happy to be felled in a glorious battle, against a worthy opponent. A far better fate than aging in his eyes.
Indeed as the radiation vision pierced his chest and tore through his heart Blonsky smiled, having no regrets at all over anything.
Seeing the now lifeless corpse of his opponent, Bizarro roared into the sky, an awful combination of a human yell and beastly screech. But then he felt a powerful presence nearby.
Not one, two.
A man and a woman each bearing a big, red S emblem on their outfits landed nearby, both glaring at him with their eyes glowing red.
“Whoever you are, stand down now! This fight is over and you’re coming with us.”
Even after triumphing over his opponent the rage remained; blinding, hateful, uncontrollable.
Despite wanting to be a hero, like Superman, all Bizarro wanted to do now was kill anyone who crossed his path.
He wasn’t a hero now, if he ever was at all.
What he was now, all he ever could have been… was a Doomsday …
To be continued…
