It had been around 3 months, 5 days and a random number of hours since they started dating and so that meant it had been around 3 months, 5 days and a random number of hours in which Steve hadn't felt alone in his big house.
They were now in said house cuddling after a movie and making out for a bit, Eddie's head on Steve's chest while half ignoring the tv and half watching a cartoon.
Steve's fingers were tangled on the other's hair playing with his curls and smiling as he fully ignored the show to play with his now oficial boyfriend's hair.
Life was good, he had an okay job and he would wait another year before college, he was living at his house with daddy's money and had the most badass boyfriend Hawkins could offer.
Life being him was amazing now that the monster was gone.
Eddie was deeply enjoying his boyfriend's hands on his hair while resting one hand on the other's thigh and actually watching and enjoying the cartoon that started halfway through his kissing session with Steve.
After a blunt and making out with the prettiest boy in the town he was living his best life, he was finally out of highschool and taking a year off just making money out of gigs with his band, finally he felt happy.
The government wiped his image clean and even if the people in Hawkins didn’t love him, he was not afraid anymore of being the target of furious locals trying to kill him and that was the important part.
He could live a normal life now, he had a boyfriend, Robin was an amazing friend and now he also had a disciple. The Byers were back in town to stay and so he and Will bonded over being DMs, shared trauma worked wonders over bonding with people.
No more monsters.
No more hiding.
Just he and his boyfriend being together, living the dream.
—Eddie? Open the door.
He smiled at the boy.
—The door? Sweetheart there’s no one at the door.
Steve held his face to kiss him.
Everything became white.

There's a knock on the door.
—Eddie? It's just us, we brought food, open the door.
It was a dream?
Fuck.
He's fucked, he has a crush on Steve.
Eddie rubs the sleep off his face to greet the group when Harrington waves his fingers at him.
His pretty fingers.
He's got pretty hands in general...And so Eddie was getting distracted.
He really needed to focus, that had been just a dream.

The oldest guy decided that's a problem for future Eddie to figure out and panic about, right now cleaning his name is more important than hotstuff over there.
Even if he's the prettiest boy in the whole town, now was not a time to think about kissing him, or touching him or hold his hands or his hair..for fucks sake how is he going to talk to him without showing his recently discovered crush on the former king Steve?
He can’t pretend to save his life, even when lately everything has come to that.
It was going to be a long day.
He ruffles Dustin's hair and takes a sandwich and a beer from the backpack given to him.
He will be totally okay as long as things stay the same.
Steve is still a minor crisis in comparison to a whole (small) town hunting you for a crime you didn’t commit.
