Love is a Door Closed by the Door Chain (you just need to kick it open)

Summary:

If you had asked anyone who knew them back in the day, the answer would have always been the same: The Bakugou and the Midoriya kid were supposed to have their happily ever after way back in high school, the greenette always knew it.

Kacchan was his fated pair, after all.

But Katsuki who despised destiny ran away to accomplish his own dreams leaving his unclaimed mate behind.

Izuku then locks his heart away from love. He doesn't want to ever feel that pain again.

Still, he aches. For years he feels something clenching deep into his insides, empty, missing.

He wanted a pup. A child to call his, to love, his family to have. With or without Katsuki, that was a dream he would make come true, all on his own.

So he did what any respectful omega was looked down upon for doing, and decided to get an in vitro fertilization instead of following the "natural course".

From a catalog the company provided, one of the alphas picked his interest:

Light blond hair, great scent, beautiful grey eyes, far from the ruby that still lived on his mind.

Years passed after Akio was born when he finally asks the question:

“Mom, I’m going to look up for my sire. Will you help me?”

Chapter Text

“Mom, I’m going to look up for my sire. Will you help me?”

The words that come out of his son's mouth, making Izuku raise his eyes from the book he had been reading aren't that surprising. He had noticed the recent searches on the computer and the unsubtle questions during dinner. Akio wasn't as sneaky as he assumed he was and Izuku was not about to tell him that.

Izuku shouldn't be surprised when the boy finally tells him he wants to meet his sire.

Still, He is caught off guard by it.

Maybe because his son had been only his for so long, he even forgot he had not made him all alone.

With a broken heart in abandonment, The hurt omega grew cold towards the idea of falling in love once more. He wouldn't let himself believe any of those knotheads again.

Izuku did as Katsuki had done, and decided to focus on trailing his own path instead. He became successful in his field. Becoming the best, the number one, fully immersing himself in his work. That was his goal for the longest time. There was no space for love in his life now and that's what he wanted more than anything. It was enough.

Until it wasn't.

Something inside him ached. Every lonely, painful, heat. Clenching deep into his insides, empty.

He wanted a pup. A child to call his, to love, his family to have. With or without Katsuki, that was a dream he would make come true, all on his own.

So he did what any respectful omega was looked down upon for doing, and decided to get an in vitro fertilization instead of following the "natural course".

Izuku was well off enough in life now to be picky with his service choices and the thought of having anyone else that wasn't his... mate putting a pup inside him made his skin crawl.

From a catalog the company provided, one of the alphas picked his interest.

Light blond hair, nice height and build, great scent.

Beautiful and deep grey eyes, far from the ruby that still lived on his mind.

This one would be his child sire.

Months passed after the procedure. It was a hard, pregnancy, even harder for an unmated omega. The only thing that made it bearable was the company of his friend Shouto's pheromones grounding him.

But he had already known it was going to be hard. For unmated omegas, it always was. It didn't matter. Having his pup... his pup was going to be worth all of it.

And it so was. The moment Izuku held his son in his arms for the first, unfocused silver eyes, blinking up at him, shining... Everything he had endured until that day had been worth it.

He was finally complete.

But Akio? Akio wasn't.

Years passed and now his pup was starting high school, smarter than anyone else, angelically handsome, with a keen eye to find problems and a cute enough pair of dimples to get him out of them.

Akio's eyes are resolute, Izuku notices. The grey eyes that had already decided what he was going to do... with or without his dam's help.

Izuku never wanted to deprive Akio of anything. Especially the things he never had. Izuku grew up without a father and knew that not having one was not the end of the world of something one needed to be a good person, but he also knew that sometimes it could feel... lonely.

Izuku sighed. If Akio wanted that, he wouldn't deprive the kid of meeting his sire.

He gets in touch with the in vitro fertilization company again, asking if they would be able to organize this meeting. He knows that regardless of the response, his son will find a way to get his answers, so he can at least provide the donor with a courtesy heads up, even if he doesn't want to meet them.

Surprisingly, a couple of days later he receives a call.

"Hello, Midoriya Izuku? My name is Monoma Neito and I think you've been looking for me".

They live in the same town, apparently, and the sire seems eager to know them which is a good sign! They set up a meeting for a couple of days later. When the day finally arrives, Izuku knows his son is nervous despite pretending to be totally collected by the way his jaw presses down.

Izuku's nerves are also all over the place. What was he supposed to do? How does someone act in this type of situation? What if everything goes bad? What if everything goes well?!

Still, when they enter the cafe, Izuku can tell on the spot who they are going to meet, even if he had never seen the man before.

He is sitting alone at a table, trying to look calm and comfortable, but the way his jaw presses in a hard line on his devilishly handsome features is enough of a tell he is anything but.

Somehow, this eases Izuku.

The man has a charming aura surrounding him, dimples poking on his cheeks as he smirks and this is a man who looks like he smirks a lot.

When he does it towards the omega, his eyes gleam almost instinctively at his child's dam and as instinctively, Izuku's own body reacts, flushing prettily red.

Neito's smell was even more overpowering and inviting in his presence than it was on the sample he sniffled at the lab.

Akio and his sire hit well as a duckling in the water. The kid's eyes were filled with happiness and pride, just as Neito's eyes were, transfixed, hanging at every word and tale, his son shared with him.

At some point during their meeting, Monoma had to stop and take a call. Izuku couldn't help but rising a curious eyebrow, to which Neito chuckled. How cute.

"It was my husband." He explained. "We are business partners and there is a big event coming up."

Ah, so he was married. Good. All of those pheromones and good-looking looks were starting to mess with Izuku's head.

"So does... do I have a sibling?" Akio asked, hesitant and hopeful.

Neito eyed the kid and a hint of sadness flashed behind his expression before a somewhat strained smile was back in place. "No... We don't plan on having children."

The boy looked crestfallen for a second. "I see..."

Realizing what the boy might have thought, Neito was quick to grab onto his son's hands. "But I am thrilled to know that I already have such an amazing child who wanted to meet me." He looked at Izuku with a grateful smile. "You've done a wonderful job with him."

Izuku smiled back at him. Neito didn't have an ounce of judgment on the fact that Izuku was an unmated omega, raising their kid by himself. "Thank you."

The rest of the day went so well it was almost surreal. They decided to meet again after this. Going to the movies together, walks in the park, waterparks, the beach. At first, they went with the three of them, then Izuku decided to trust Neito enough to let him take Akio in trips just the two of them. But somehow, they found themselves back into family programs the three of them.

Izuku had extended the invitation to Neito's husband multiple times now, but apparently, the man was too busy working in their business.

Izuku desperately wanted him there. Yes, he did wont to meet Akio's stepparent, but there was more than that to it. Izuku wanted a reminder. Because the way he, Monoma, and their child felt together was just right, messing up with the pheromones and instincts of a lonely omega, to the point that he felt like he needed Hitoshi there as the reminder that, despite what his inner omega claimed, he and Neito were not a thing.

The omega had sworn relationships out of his life years ago for a reason. Especially if they concerned a married man, a happily one, nonetheless! This was destined to fail in the worst ways possible.

The night when they were watching a movie in Izuku's living room and the kid had just fallen asleep on the couch, Izuku turned to comment something funny to Neito, only to find the alpha's blazing gaze over him, shining with possessiveness and want that made the omega's insides tingle in response.

It was for just a flash of a moment, but neither of them dared to breathe.

Until Neito's phone rang.

Neito picked it up. "Yes, baby?" Ah, it was the husband. "Okay, sure... He fell asleep, actually. Un-hun, making my way home. Love you." Neito hung up. He stared at the TV screen for a few seconds before turning back to Izuku, a little bit of shame lurked in his scent even if his expression was neutral. "I should go."

"Yes. Yes, you should." Izuku didn't dare to look at those grey eyes, too scared of what he might find and even more scared of what his own response might be.

Neito didn't contact him after this for a few weeks, which was honestly the best scenario, he stayed in contact with their child, of course, so everything was as it should be.

"Mom." His son told him one day before going to school. "Dad told me his company is doing a party, he asked us to come."

Oh no.

"I'm not sure, baby... You can go if you want to, but work is so-" Ah, that kid is going to be the death of him with those puppy eyes.

"Please... He even said he would send us the clothes..." The kid takes a deep breath. "And he told me he wants to introduce me as his son... I need you there. Please."

Izuku sighs, pressing his eyes shut for a second, before turning to his son with a soft smile, steeling his nerves. His pup needed him. That's what matters right now. "Okay, sweetheart, we are going to your father's party."

Izuku had never asked Neito in detail about how well his business was doing, or what he actually did for a living, but as the limo stopped at their entrance, leading them to one of the most luxurious venues in Musutafu, he realized that maybe he should have.

The party was in full swing when they arrived, a couple of glances towards them made Izuku feel small, unsure, and nervous, but when he caught sight of Neito stopping mid-conversation when he spots his son, only to break up from his cool demeanor into a genuine grin and rush towards them, made him feel at ease.

Neito hugged his son, before turning to Izuku with a devastatingly handsome smile, getting close enough so Izuku could be overpowered by just the lingering and warm alpha's natural scent.

He was glad he had applied more then one scent patch today.

Neito kissed both of his cheeks. It was a little embarrassing, but he had grown used to Neito's antics over the months. "You look beautiful Izuku." Then, Neito gave him space, only enough so he could eye Izuku from head to toe. "Really, beautiful."

"Thank you." Izuku smiled politely even if he wanted to run away.

It took a few seconds under the heated gaze before Monoma slipped back into his less intense persona. "Come there are some people I want you both to meet." He guided Izuku and their son through the crowd. Izuku felt the hand graze against his lower back for a second, before it froze, almost as if Neito had done it instinctively, shocking himself with the action.

Neito then planted his palm solidly against Izuku's back as if it had always been meant to be there.

This was a mistake; a big, fat mistake.

"Hitoshi!" Neito called out before Izuku could excuse himself, and for a moment Izuku saw all the tight tension undo itself from Neito's face. He truly loved his husband, it was clear for anyone to see it.

Izuku gaze fell in the same direction Neito was looking and he found the man with purple hair and a very bored expression turning to face them. Izuku got ready to introduce himself properly as they approached, but everything fell apart when they got close enough for him to see who Hitoshi was talking to.

Izuku froze on the spot.

He needs to go, He needs to leave right now.

Unaware of the fact that he had just broken Izuku's world apart Neito spoke in a lively tone. "This is Midoriya Izuku, the one I told you about. He is my child dam."

Hitoshi said something but Izuku was not able to register, eyes firmly focused on the wide ruby eyes staring back.

Neito continued. "And this one is Bakugou Katsuki, our newest business partner."

Notes:

listen, I will be clear from the start: this IS BkDk AND ShinMono

Do you see that cheating tag at the start? Do you see the angst with a happy ending tag? They are not there just for the show I love MonoDk and building the romantic tension between them is 70% of why I wrote this.

If you don't like it, don't read it, it's as simple as that.

But if you do... oh hun... enjoy the ride *evil laugh*
