Chapter Text

࿇————࿇

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐧𝐞:

𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞.

࿇————࿇

Predictions can often be strange and unusual, especially if this prediction happens to be true. You've heard of predictions but never really thought of them as serious, after all, you had your own beliefs and took other predictions or "fortune telling" with a grain of salt.

However, there was one thing every cookie on Earthbread can agree on:

No matter how powerful one cookie might be, there will always be other cookies that overpower one another.

But no cookie would have ever expected what would foreshadow what the future had in mind.

You grew up in a small village town with other legendaries that was known for predictions, and as the main cookies for worship. As beautiful as the town was, with its rich plants that always bloomed with happiness and love, and beautiful weather that brightened any path no matter cloudiness or darkness, the cookies were... to put it nicely, the complete opposite.

Your village is dated to have one of the longest spans of life for cookies born there, dating ancestry back to the oldest legendary cookies besides the currently known ones such as Sea Fairy and Millennial Tree Cookie. Many cookies are thousands or even centuries of years old, including yourself. However, you were different from all of your other legendary cookie acquaintances:

You weren't born with any powers.

No elemental powers, not even your own magic or battle technique. Just a legendary, but with no powers because of a rare disease known as "Fatigue Dough Syndrome."

Fatigue Dough Syndrome is a rare disease that causes any cookie to completely loose their energy almost instantly, causing the cookie infected with FDS to have a nearly impossible chance to use their power, or "true potential" as most call it.

Ever since the announcement of your disease, many of the legendaries in your village had bullied you, verbally and physically. You never talked to anyone about your issues, because even when you did, the elders or even cookies your age would never take you seriously.

As you walked through the beautiful lime plants of your village, you thought about how lucky all your other so called "friends" were. They could show off how to use fire, air, or even combine both as their own form of elemental power. While you had nothing to make anyone interested in you. You were always outcasted out of every activity, even activities that didn't even require any powers to be used.

You hated yourself more then you hated those who hurt you. Before you could continue your thoughts about a possible solution to your disease, which even you doubted could be cured, you heard a loud crash of thunder. As you quickly turned your head, you saw a further part of the dark seas you always feared to become even darker then it already was.

"Wha... What's going on?" You muttered to yourself, turning your body to where the loud bang was.

Your eyes widened as you saw the once heavenly colored clouds now became cold and gray. You took a step back as your body began to shake. Despite you being further away from where this sudden change from bright to dark atmosphere, you felt chills go through your body as you continued to stare into the darkness that was forming from a distance.

Before you could run to possibly warn the others, you felt a cold hand rest on your shoulder. Your entire body stopped, almost as though your body had stopped functioning entirely. Your breathing, and even your eyes felt as though they had suddenly stopped working. Whoever this powerful entity was, acknowledged your presence, you felt unwelcomed as you tried to move your body, but the paralysis inside your body wouldn't let you budge.

You couldn't even answer back or scream for help. Who was this cookie? How did they even know you were watching? What type of all seeing-

"(Y/N)! Is everything alright?"

You quickly turned around quickly, only to see one of the elders who would look after and help train the other legendaries, Pistachio Meringue Cookie. A kind old lady who was always well known for her unique green analogous colored hair, mixed with all types of white and yellow.

Her dough was colored chestnut brown, her eyes were a beautiful lime green mixed with slight hints of baby yellow. She wore a slightly oversized green and white robe, and under it was a long dress that faded from white to a mix of olive green and brown. She had a huge forest green bow that was tied on the back, almost like a cute little gift. She also wore green and yellow pearls as an overcoat for her simple yet elegant outfit to symbolize her wealth and love for jewelry, especially pearls.

She was one of the only elders around who truly did want the best for every cookie, no matter size, personality, or their possible issues they may have with unlocking their true potential.

"My... My lady! I deeply apologize," you said, raising your voice urgently as you apologized profusely by bowing your head multiple times.

"I just felt this cold presence behind me. I swear to you my lady, there was just this storm at sea that I saw from a distance and-"

"What storm? (Y/N), I understand you aren't well, but please do not make such silly things up," Pistachio Meringue chuckled softly as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"My lady this is no laughing matter! I felt a cold hand on my shoulder!" You said as your eyes widened in fear of remembering that short counter.

"That presence behind me was something... something more then a cookie! Just look at the seas over there!" You pointed to where you saw the storm, only to find that it wasn't there.

Both the sea you feared showed distant but calm waves, there were no cold colored clouds to be seen, other then the heavenly colored clouds you saw earlier before the dark atmospheric change. Everything was normal, just how it was before.

"(Y/N), do you just have fears of the sea? All I see is blue!" Pistachio Meringue Cookie chuckled. Pistachio Meringue Cookie continued to chuckle until she opened her eyes to still see your body shaking nervously.

She stopped chuckling as she realized you were being serious. You hugged your shaking body tightly as you put your head down in fear, realizing that this may have just been a trick, or possibly a day dream.

"(Y/N). My dear, there is no need to be afraid of what you may have seen or felt," Pistachio Meringue said as she hugged you in a gentle and comforting manner, her slightly taller body madd you feel more relaxed and protected.

"I promise you that if anything like that were to happen, me and the other elders will help protect you and your friends!~"

"Friends..." you muttered as you clicked your tongue in slight amusement.

"But... if you really did see it, I do have a question for you."

You looked up at Pistachio Meringue confused at the sudden shift of comfort to suddenly serious.

"Oh? What is it my lady-"

"What do you think that vision, or... whatever it is to you, means?"

You paused as Pistachio Meringue released from the hug, and gazed at you as she awaited a possible explanation to your strange sudden "vision." You tried to think of something but couldn't think of a proper answer for what you think that strange day dream could've meant. It just felt so real.

"With all honesty my lady, I... I don't know why I had it... or what it means," you said as you looked down nervously.

"I gave up a long time ago about the meaning of anything I think about..."

"But I think what I thought of may be possibly more then just a thought."

Pistachio Meringue looked at you with a slight smile of confidence as she patted your head.

"You'll get the hang of it." You smiled before realizing her strange use of words.

What did she mean by that? Before you could give her a confused look, she simply walked away back to the direction of where the village was.

"Hey hey wait up! What did you mean by that?!" You yelled in confusion as you began to run towards the elderly cookie.

You took one more look at the sea as you continued to run, yet you "couldn't help the feeling of something... odd, and even a little disturbing," you thought to yourself.

You couldn't quite place the feeling though. As you finally caught up to the elderly lady, out of breath, you forgot your question about her strange wording. As you continued to talk with her about any possible events, and even legendaries that may have went through the same issue as you were going through. Of course, the answer was no.

"Well look who it is!~ The powerless legendary freak!"

You and Pistachio Meringue Cookie paused in your steps as the infamous Plasma Cookie himself stepped up to ruin the good mood. Plasma Cookie was always known for causing trouble, and having a very hyper personality for fights. His dough was colored a creme shade, his eyes would always peak interest, as his right eye was scratched and had the marking of a yellow Lightning Bolt as the pupil, along with the eye color itself was white. His left eye was a darker yellow that faded into slight orange. His hair is a beautiful calm orange that faded into an energetic yellow, his hair was tied in a ponytail from yellow dandelions and expensive gold gems.

His shirt was a turtle neck shirt that was black, along with having an orange flower on his chest as an accessory. He had a flowy robe had Victorian like golden leaf and lightning designs that turned into a v-neck on his chest and then faded all the way to the ground, from a dark orange to a sudden yellow. His pants were black while his shoes were orange with golden designs. He had a good sense in fashion, but his personality and his ego was clearly gonna be an issue if he ever planned on falling in love.

"Do not speak like that to (Y/N), they are just as special as the rest of us," Pistachio Meringue said as her voice raised like a strict teacher.

"Well it's true, isn't it?" Plasma cookie snickered as he held his hand in front of him, his ignorant self examining it as thought it was some type of Diamond.

"I have just much potential as anyone else does!" You yelled back.

"You can't even throw a punch, even if you do manage to learn self defense, you'll be just as worthless as you were before, only with embarrassment on top of it."

"You don't know anything about my life or what I have been through to earn my place!"

"As if you even HAVE a place," Plasma said sarcastically.

"Both of you quit it! I won't hesitate to punish both of you for your immature behaviors!" Pistachio said as she entered herself in the argument.

You took a step back until you heard the sound of running, you quickly looked up to find Plasma charging at you before he punched you on the right side of your face, causing your body to knock to the ground.

You began to tear up as you felt salty tears drip from your eyes. Pistachio immediately went to assist you before glaring daggers at Plasma Cookie.

"You say you have potential yet your actions prove otherwise. Out of everything you've learned, respect is your biggest failure of all," Pistachio Meringue said in a strict yet darkened tone.

Plasma wanted to say something, but thought better of it, and clenched his fists as he looked down in disappointment, feeling slight regret for the first time in his life.

Then again, Pistachio did always spoil him when he won against fights. They're both at fault. You put a hand to your wound as you whimpered slightly at how much it stings.

"Whatever! My point still stands!" Plasma yelled in frustration as he raised his head, his eyes in anger.

"All (Y/N) is, is a pathetic weakling that won't serve for any purpose then to just-"

Before he could continue his insults, the ground began to shake violently as you and the others heard large crashes of thunder erupt and crash throughout what seemed to be near, or even in the village.

"Okay, I could not have been the only one to hear that-"

"The village!" Pistachio Meringue cried out in horror as she lifted you and supported your weight as you, Plasma, and Pistachio ran to the village. Only to find both the buildings, cookies, and the beautiful nature you once called home, were flooded and destroyed.

You saw the elder guardians on their knees as they began to plead and apologize, only to suddenly hear them become silent, and to become stone. You saw what seemed to be flying eyes that would any remaining survivors to stone.

You looked in horror around to find all of those who once picked on you turned to stone, as much as you despised them for their actions, wishing death upon them, whether it be from stone or becoming crumbs due to the raging lightning crashing aggressively, would never even be a tough to go through your head.

"Sh... Shit!" You heard Plasma curse out in anger as you saw holding his hands out, with a yellow glow trying to control the thunder.

"What more do you have to say?!" Pistachio yelled in frustration and stress.

"I can't... argh! I can't bend this lightning, this isn't from the clouds! This is from-"

Before Plasma could finish, he threw the lightning nearby you, causing it to explode and remove you from your place by lifting your body and causing it to crash you head first into the ground.

As you tried to lift yourself up, your face still holding itself in the air with your last remaining strength, you felt that same cold hand that caused you to freeze go under your chin.

"Squirm all you want, but you won't escape my grasp, weakling."

Your eyes widened as you felt the cold hand grab you by the throat and lift your body like a rag doll, you closed your eyes expecting the air to be sucked out of you. You felt your lungs close, until they suddenly released, the hand placement wasn't as tight, but it still felt uncomfortable to say the least.

"Look at me, weakling."

The voice was deep, and demanding. You slowly opened your fading vision to suddenly widened your eyes in horror at who was holding you at choke hold.

"Tell me more about the dragons! What about that fifth one you always say you'll talk about but never do?"

"My dear (Y/N), you've always been so curious about these creatures."

"Well duh! They're as old as me! Well... they're a bit older, but you get what I mean!"

You squirmed as you tried to close your eyes, but you could feel their stare, those eyes meant instant death.

They tightly held your throat once more before releasing you again, giving you one last chance to follow their request.

"Curiosity can always kill the cat, you know, but if you really want to know about the Ivory Dragon.."

"Look at me, you pathetic weakling. You've already lost."

"Never look the dragon in the eyes, they are rumored to kill you in an instant, by turning you into stone."

You opened your eyes slowly to see the figure once more, you gasped as you noticed those eyes, they fit the exact description.

"What do their eyes look like?"

"Yellow sharp pupils that have more emptiness then any void or rift I've ever encountered.." "they will spare you no mercy."
