It all happened in such a flurry he thought it comical. He heard your footsteps thudding over as the book was swiped from his hands. Hands still frozen in the position of where he had the book.
“I was reading that, dear.”
You huffed as you placed down to the side before crawling into his arms. With a small laugh, he wrapped his arms around you as you pouted.
“Well, read with me, if I can find you in this forsaken castle.”
You could feel him kiss the top of your head as you felt one arm reach for the book on his side.
“What if I read to you? Would that suffice, my love?”
You managed a weak nod as that soft voice you adored lulled you in the arms of your lover.
