Stray Kids STAY 3rd Anniversary

Summary:

“No, I mean...” Jisung sputtered, trying to explain himself, while the rest of the family was watching the events unfold. “I just went for some fresh air, and then... I just went to get some fresh air!”
But seeing that his excuse wasn’t working, and that he already dug himself in a hole too deep to back out, Jisung suddenly shouted, “There is nothing wrong with falling in love! There is nothing wrong with falling in love.”
~~
Hyunsung are a couple, and 2Min are a couple. Cheating ensues, and Chan is a traumatized five-year-old.

Notes:

Even though Jeongin, Hyunjin, and Minho are technically role-playing women, they’re still men in real life, so I will still be using male pronouns for them outside of dialogue. I also don’t mean to normalize cheating or make it seem like it's not a bad thing. This is just based off of the 3rd Anniversary SKZ video, and it's all a joke between the members.

Work Text:

“My babies!” Grandma Jeongin exclaimed, hobbling over to his two kids- Jisung and Seungmin, and pulling them in for a hug.
“Eomma (mother), how are you?” Seungmin asked, once Grandma Jeongin let go of him and Jisung.
“I’m doing good, as always! Just some back problems, nothing too big. Your Appa (dad), over there is always complaining about his hip problems,” Grandma Jeongin said, his eyes crinkling in mischief, before lowering his voice and whispering with a twinkle in his eyes, “don’t tell him I told you though, he’ll start complaining about how his hip problems aren’t his fault, and that they developed from chasing you two around as kids.”
“Got it, Eomma!” Jisung said, before calling his dad: Felix, over. “Appa, Eomma just told us that you got your hip pain from chasing us around when Seungmin and I were kids!”
“Jisung!” Grandma Jeongin whisper-yelled, looking at Jisung accusingly, while the latter was just grinning mischeviously. But that didn’t matter, Grandpa Felix had already heard what his son had to say.
“Ya, Jeonginnie! Why did you have to tell them that?!” Grandpa Felix complained, turning his head around to face his wife, before realizing that Grandma Jeongin and his two sons had already disappeared.
“Eomma, this is my wife: Hyunjinnie,” Jisung said, introducing his wife again. “Remember her? I introduced you to her last year over dinner.”
“Ah, yes, I remember you! You’re the tall one!” Grandma Jeongin exclaimed in realization.
“And then this is our child: Changbinnie! He’s currently in high school,” Jisung explained.
“Aww, you’re growing so well, Binnie!” Grandma Jeongin remarked, before sighing pitifully, “too bad short genes run in the family.”
“Halmi (Grandma)!” Changbin exclaimed in offense.
“Ah yes, it’s quite pitiful he’s short at such a wonderful age,” Hyunjin agreed, sighing dramatically, with Jisung agreeing and Changbin looking at them in betrayal.
“And who have you brought today?” Grandma Jeongin asked, with Grandpa Felix finally joining them.
“Ah yes, this is my wife, Minho,” Seungmin introduced, motioning towards his partner who was standing behind him.
“I thought you two divorced,” Changbin suddenly interrupted.
“We’re back together now,” Seungmin cooly replied. “And we now have a child: Chan!”
“Hi, Channie, how old are you?” Grandma Jeongin asked.
“I’m fOiVe!” Chan suddenly said in English, causing everyone to burst out into laughter.
“Ah, but how are you so tall for a five-year-old, Channie?” Grandpa Felix asked.
“Tall genes just run in our family, unlike Uncle and Auntie’s,” Chan said, smiling bashfully, which caused everyone to burst out into laughter again, and for Changbin to look at Chan, offended.
“I haven’t seen you in quite some time, brother-in-law,” Jisung told Minho, referencing to how the last time the entire family met up together was two years ago. “You look very beautiful today, very pretty.” The two patted each other’s backs, and this caused Seungmin to look at Minho suspiciously.
“Appa, it’s not brother-in-law, it’s sister-in-law,” Changbin pointed out, laughing.
“Yeah, I’m your sister-in-law, not your brother-in-law!” Minho pointedly agreed, which caused many other voices to bring up that Minho is the auntie, and that he is referred to as sister-in-law.
“Why don’t we all go eat some watermelon?” Grandpa Felix suddenly brought up, and everyone agreed, settling the debate.
“Ah, Minho, are you going to be cutting us some watermelon today?” Grandma Jeongin asked. “I see you’ve grown quite strong recently.”
“Ah yes, she’s gotten a lot stronger,” Seungmin explained. “Why don’t you go cut some watermelon for us, honey?”
“Of course,” Minho replied, suddenly grabbing a watermelon placed on the bottom shelf of the table, and placing it on top. Then he grabbed a knife, and began cutting off the edges.
“Oh-” Chan suddenly said, his eyes widening in surprise. As Minho was cutting off the edges of the watermelon, the bottom half of the edge suddenly ripped open by itself.
“Pfft- haha!” Grandpa Felix burst out in laughter. Minho himself also looked really surprised, while the rest of the family stared at him in shock.
“Auntie!” Chan stuttered.
“What... what’s going on?” Grandma Jeongin asked, surprised.
“She... she broke that!” Chan stammered, pointing at the edge of the watermelon that Minho had ripped apart.
“I mean.. Is this even physically possible?” Jisung asked, holding the watermelon.
“I, uh, didn’t expect this to happen,” Minho explained calmly, still slightly surprised by what he did, before continuing to cut the middle of the watermelon in half. Choruses of “oooh’s” and “ahh’s” could be heard when Minho finally cut open the watermelon, which revealed a juicy and ripe red center.
“It’s so red inside,” Jisung commented. “Wow, look how thin the skin is!”
“Baby, were you always left-handed?” Seungmin asked, noticing that Minho had used his left hand to cut the watermelon. This however, only resulted in Minho saying “what?” in a terrifying tone, knife still held in his hand.
“Oh, sorry,” Seungmin quickly apologized, backing into the back of the couch.
“Ah, Uncle has a tough life,” Changbin commented, pursing his lips and nodding his head.
“Baby, you’re very good,” Jisung suddenly said, as Minho went back to cutting the watermelon in near perfect slices. Minho looked at him weirdly, before Jisung realized what he said, and quickly let out an “OH-” in shock. But it was already too late, Jisung’s wife: Hyunjin, was looking at Jisung in distrust and suspicion.
“Why?” Hyunjin muttered, looking at Jisung, upset.
“No. No, nothing,” Jisung quickly replied, trying to prove his innocence. “You didn’t hear anything. Did you?”
“Did you hear that?” Hyunjin repeated, upset. “You were cheating on me?”
“What?” Jisung asked, surprised. “What are you talking about? It’s just...”
Jisung’s voice trailed off, as Hyunjin put his arm on Jisung’s shoulder, threateningly.
This clearly resulted in Seungmin being infuriated, and for Jisung to chuckle nervously.
“So what, do you think you’ve done nothing wrong?” Jisung confronted Seungmin. “You, huh? Last week! Where were you going holding my wife’s hand?”
“You Lee Tae-oh-like bastard...” Seungmin said, which caused Jisung to chuckle out nervously again and smile timidly.
“U-uncle,” Chan stuttered. “Y-you’ve been cheating on A-auntie with my Eomma this whole time?!”
“How does this kid even know what cheating is?” Grandpa Felix asked.
“That’s not the point!” Chan shouted.
“I’m not the only cheater here!” Jisung shouted too, pointing at Seungmin and Hyunjin. “Those two have been at it behind me and Minho’s backs too!”
“Now I’m dragged into this?!” Hyunjin shouted, while Seungmin shouted, “at least I don’t go around calling my sister-in-law ‘baby’!”

“CUT! CUT!” the producer suddenly shouted, sensing that the entire scene was getting too out of hand. “Everyone go take a break, we’ll continue shooting and move on from the whole cheating relationships, okay? Everyone go take a fifteen minute break!”
Hearing that the cameras stopped rolling, Jisung immediately flung himself into Minho’s embrace, where the latter was still laughing.
“‘Nothing wrong with falling in love’, hmm?” Minho asked, chuckling at Jisung’s antics.
“Sh-shut up, hyung,” Jisung muttered, embarrassed.
“You just couldn’t hold back from calling me baby at least once, could you?” Minho asked, still teasing the younger.
“M-min, shut up!” Jisung exclaimed, his face now burning bright red in embarrassment.
“I’m just joking~” Minho said playfully, before lifting Jisung’s face off of his shoulder, where it was currently buried, and giving him a peck on the lips.
“I love you,” Minho said, words filled with love and honesty.
“I love you too,” Jisung sweetly replied.

“You two seriously couldn’t wait until we were done filming for today?” Seungmin deadpanned, staring at the two boredly with Hyunjin beside him.
“It’s not like you two don’t do the same,” Minho retorted, causing Seungmin’s ears to turn pink, and for Hyunjin to look away shyly.
“Yeah, and I do see you two hold hands all the time!” Jisung added, which caused Seungmin to huff and roll his eyes.
“Well there’s nothing wrong with falling in love,” Seungmin replied, mocking Jisung from earlier, “but you two have fun on our quick break. Don’t get too carried away so the stylists won’t have to redo your makeup.”
“Got it, bye Minnie!” Jisung said, before playfully shoving him and Hyunjin away, and continuing to cuddle and cling onto Minho until their fifteen minutes were over.
