"Let go!"
"No! You let go!"
N and V tussled with each other playfully inside the pod. They would pounce on each other, wrestle, and even give each other gentle little love bites.
Uzi wasn't there at the moment. So obviously they had to find another way to entertain themselves.
"Veee! No fair! Let go!" N huffed as he tried to shake his partner in crime off of his back, but she held on firmly. Giggling all the while at his expense.
"Hehe, make me, biscuit!" She shot right back from where she clung onto him like a koala. Usually he'd surrender when she pulled this unfair move.
But that wouldn't be the case this time.
N suddenly flopped onto his back, squishing the shorter female underneath him as he smirked mischievously. Thankfully their kind were very strong, so a move like that wouldn't harm her at all.
"Eep!! Heyyy!"
V squeaks from where she was squished, squirming underneath her playmate in an attempt to escape. "That's cheating! Get off me!"
"Do you surrender?" He asked, his little smirk growing all the more wider as he waited to hear those words from her.
"Nope!" And with that V reaches up and begins to tickle his sides. Causing him to squeal and quickly roll off of her while giggling.
N gets into a pouncing position and swishes his tail as V gets into a similar one.
"So that's the way you want to play, huh?"
"What's wrong? Can't take it~?"
And with that N lets out a mock growl and pounces at her again.
The two start up their little play fight once more, only for it to come crashing to a halt when they hear something crack.
The noises causes them both to quickly stop and look around with wide eyes. They had no doubt broken something… now it was just a matter of finding out what it was.
Their eyes landed on a fuse box. Specifically the one Uzi had been working on lately.
Damn, she was gonna be pissed.
"Welp." V said, standing up with a stretch. "You're dead."
"M-Me?!" N sputtered, quickly rising to his feet as well with a panicked look. "B-But it was both of us! Not just me! It was an accident! What are we going to tell-?!"
Just then they picked up on the sound of snow crunching outside the pod, signaling that their leader had returned.
Uzi was humming the tune to Pain by Three Days Grace like the little emo she was as she walked. She had picked up some more supplies from the colony and was ready to get that fuse box up and working again.
"Hey, murder kittens!" She called out as she entered the pod. "I'm back. You better not have…"
The worker trails off when she sees the sight in front of her.
The fuse box was busted. V stood there with her arms crossed as she looked in a different direction, 'innocently'. And N just looked like a guilty little puppy with his head down.
What stood out most of course was the fuse box. It would be an easy fix since she had the right tools handy, but that didn't change the fact that it was broken.
"What happened." Her voice came flatly. It barely even sounded like a question.
"W-We…"
"He did it!"
V was quick to throw N under the landing pod as she pointed at him with her tail, not even looking in his direction.
N blinked and gave the female disassembler a heartbroken look and whined. Even though she basically threw him under the pod he would never do the same to her.
So when Uzi looked at him, he just looked back down at the ground. Still appearing as guilty as ever.
Uzi let out a sigh and tapped her foot. "Is that true, N?"
He doesn't respond. Just shrinks even more into himself with another whine and saddened eyes.
The small worker glances over at V again, who obviously wasn't going to take responsibility, and glares for a moment. But it quickly faded away as she came up with an idea.
"Alright well… if N did it, I guess I have no choice but to make him pay for it." Uzi shrugs as she walks over to a small hidden compartment in the pod.
At the sound of this, both of the disassembly drones perked up with anxious looks on their faces. V seemed worried whereas N seemed scared.
"Hey look, it's not that big a deal… I'm sure he didn't mean to." V tries to say, but Uzi obviously wasn't listening.
"Nope! You said he did it. So now he has to pay for it." The worker then pulls something out and walks towards N, who was pretty much cowering with his face in his hands.
"I-I'm sorry, Uzi! I-I'll help you fix it! I'll-!" N suddenly trails off when he feels something fluffy and cool placed on his body.
He slowly uncovers his face to see that Uzi had wrapped a soft grey blanket around him like a burrito. It had a cooling effect so it wouldn't make him uncomfortable and cause him to overheat.
The feeling of comfiness quickly makes him relax and smile as he snuggles into the blanket.
"Ohh, this feels so niiiice~" He coos out happily, his tail beginning to wag behind him.
Uzi smirks at seeing him so calm and relaxed. It was much better than seeing him act all guilty and take the blows for V.
"Good boi. Now go to the corner and think about what you did." She then orders him, to which he eagerly listens.
N goes into the corner and slouches against the wall, still purring as he nuzzled into the blanket.
The whole time V stared with a dumbfounded look on her face. N took the blame, so why was he getting rewarded and not her?! That simply wasn't fair!
"How come he gets a blanket and not me?!" V suddenly exclaimed with a soft whine in her tone.
"Because he was willing to take the blame for your shenanigans. You know that he'd never want you to get in trouble. So you took advantage of that. That's why you don't get the blanket." Uzi scolded her with her hands on her hips. She honestly could've been mistaken for their parent…. if she wasn't so tiny.
V said nothing. She just pouts and lets out a soft 'hmph!' while she turns away. Yeah, she felt bad about making N take the blame, but she wouldn't say it out loud. At least… Not yet.
She was about to spend the whole day pouting. That was until she felt two arms wrap around her in a warm hug, earning a startled yelp from her. She glances back to see N smiling warmly at her.
"Put me down! I don't want to talk to y-" She was cut off by N suddenly giving her cheek a friendly kiss.
V's whole visor became decorated with yellow lines as she blushed heavily, using her hands to hide her face. But at least she was quiet now.
Uzi could be heard snickering rather loudly as N carried the V back to his little corner. Once she was placed down he set his sights on Uzi, who immediately knew what was coming next.
"No, hang on. I'm trying to work here- N!" Her words fell on deaf ears as he quickly scooped her up and carried her over to the corner where V was still blushing.
Clearly he had gotten into one of his more cuddly moods…
Uzi let out a sigh of defeat as N held both girls close and wrapped them up under the blanket with him, loud purrs rumbling throughout his chest. Uzi couldn't deny how comfortable the embrace was, so she didn't fight it. It was like they were in a giant burrito!
N then turned to V who was still covering her face, this time with the blanket.
"It's okay, V. I forgive you! I could never stay mad…" He then noticed the faint glow of her headband, as well as her visor being dim. She was asleep.
He chuckled and smiled, holding her closer. He then nuzzled into Uzi's hair only to find… that she too was asleep! She was all cuddled up to his side and in the blanket. Looking as cozy as ever.
'Wow… This blanket must be magical!' He thought to himself with a giggle as he made himself comfortable between them, making sure the girls were both as close as possible while the coolness of the blanket enveloped them.
And in little time at all… he too fell into a nice comforting sleep.
