Before We Begin
Welcome to my first finished fanfiction: Intensive Care Bears
Before we begin, I wish to give credit and thank everyone who helped and motivated me the whole way!
I'd like to thank Chunkerella, who named this fic, when I was too empty headed to do so.
I'd like to thank Jeff The Killer, who made the cover of this fic.
I'd like to thank Jawad, Rainbow and Sadbear who listened in on this monstrosity
I'd also like to thank my mom for giving birth to me and in turn letting me give birth to this!
Thank you to my dog for peeing on my bed.
And last but not least, I'd like to thank my boyfriend Jack and my friend Sir Vincunt I of Memerland, whose shitposts and memes made me laugh all throughout the writing of this fic.
I'd also like to thank my demented ass brain for coming up with this monstrosity of a fanfic
All jokes aside, to everyone who has motivated me thus far, you have no idea how grateful I am to have each and every one of you. You have all changed my life for the better and I don't know where I'd be without you all! Thank you, all of you!
Now disclaimer: All characters in this fic belong to their respective owners. Aside from that, I'd like you to think of this fic as a dark and bloody AU, I have added my own bits of lore here and there, and I am quite happy with how it came out, so please be nice in the comment section, criticism is always welcome, but hate is not tolerated. Thank you!
Inspiration for Intensive Care Bears came from a discord server called the Care-A-Lot Republic. A server that I'd be happy to send a link to, it really is a nice server that welcomes both old and new fans. If anyone wants a link feel free to message me and ask.

Prologue
(Gentle, I'm so sorry XD)
"You're certain it works?" Asked a figure, dressed in a purple and grey cloak, walking up to the one-way glass window on the wall, where a man with frostbitten blue skin and frozen clothes stood, simply staring.
"Of course! I've tested this on many different creatures. If it works on mice, it'll work on any of these fuzzy wuzzies." The frostbitten creature stated with a proud grin, his tone sounded a little unhinged. Not looking away from the barely conscious form of a small, mint-furred lamb in the center of the cold stone room, "Even the gentlest of creatures wouldn't be able to withstand it."
His attention shifted to his newest assistant, a white and blue almost foxlike creature. Watching him carefully as he did as he was told obediently, not that the assistant had much choice in the matter. His first assistant, Frostbite, had failed him by helping those stupid creatures of caring to trap him in that other dimension, he made damn sure this assistant wouldn't be able to even think of defying him.
The strange fox placed a few cardboard cutouts of some of the other care bears on each side of the room, he then placed a knife right in front of the cousin before walking up to the lamb with a small syringe filled with a sparkling gray, transparent, almost syrupy liquid in his paw. The assistant kneeled next to the lamb and with a moment's hesitation, pushed the needle into her arm and pushed the plunger down. Forcing the magical serum into her bloodstream.
The lamb flinched and let out a yelp, the sudden slight pain waking her up. The needle was out of her before she had the chance to react any further. The assistant then stood and quickly made a break for the room's exit, not wanting to be in the room when that potion kicked in. He slammed the thick steel door shut before locking it to make sure the lamb couldn't get out, leaving Gentle Heart quite confused as to what just happened.
The lamb cousin shivered at the bitter cold that surrounded her as she stood. She carefully looked around the room she was in, what was this place? Where was she? Was this some kind of weird prank or had someone taken her? Had she been kidnapped? That was a dumb thing to ask, of course she had been!
Gentle Heart didn't have time to think about it, however. A sudden wall of pain slammed into her at full force, causing the lamb to drop to the floor with a cry. Her head was pounding like something was in her head, punching the front of her skull as hard as they could. Every nerve in her body felt like it was on fire. The lamb whimpered, silently begging for the pain to stop as if that would help. But through her tear-filled vision, she could see one of her friends. It was hard to tell who exactly it was, but she could make out a familiar bear shape and she could see they were smiling at her, like they didn't even notice the pain she was in.
The lamb cousin tried to crawl closer to them, barely finding the strength to stand. She attempted to reach out but flinched when her hand bumped against something cold and sharp. Without thinking Gentle Heart snatched it, she looked down at the object she just picked up and then looked back up at the bear, who was still smiling at her. But through her pain-filled haze, the smile turned sinister, like they knew she was in pain but just didn't care.
That couldn't be true, but if it wasn't then why were they smiling at her like that? Why weren't they trying to help her, why were they just standing there? Some friend they were, maybe if they were the one in pain, they'd be more inclined to help her!
Gentle Heart looked back down at the object in her hand, she wasn't sure what, but something told her to make them feel the same pain she felt, she was itching to launch herself at them and… wait what? No!
No! She couldn't do that, just the thought of hurting anybody made Gentle's stomach turn. The lamb cousin was about to drop the knife but Gentle yelped as the fiery, pounding pain became worse. Through the hazy pain and sharp ringing in her ears, Gentle could hear them laughing at her pain, telling her how pathetic it was that she couldn't handle a little pain. The laughing and mocking grew louder the more Gentle tried to ignore it.
It didn't take long for her to snap. With a sharp cry, the lamb cousin launched herself at the cutout without thinking, her body practically moving on its own. She plunged the knife into its cardboard throat over and over, eventually separating the cutout's head from the rest of its body.
Gentle tossed the cardboard head to the side, then noticed the second cardboard cutout. She stood up off the first cutout and ran for the second one, shoving her knife into its cardboard gut. All while her audience watched with cruel glee. Pleased to see their magical concoction worked. Their plan was all coming together, they finally had a weapon that the Care Bears couldn't stop so easily, something they wouldn't have the heart to destroy. This time, they had the upper hand! This time, they would win!
