Work Header

A turn of events.

Summary:

Tanjirou throws the hatchet at Giyuu and instead of the other dodging it, it hits him.

Giyuu is displeased, but somewhat impressed.

Notes:

I don't really like this fic that much, I think it wasn't written to the best of my abilities.

I hope that if anyone reads this that it can still be enjoyed, I read this over and I hope I found every error.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Tanjirou threw rocks at Tomioka, the man doged every with ease.

"Leave us alone!" Tanjirou yelled out as he picked up the hatchet in the snow.

Tanjirou ran towards Tomioka and threw the hatchet at him.

As Tanjirou got closer Tomioka put the dull side of his sword on Tanjirous back, knocking the other out.

Tomioka widened his eyes.

"The hatchet!" He looked up, his body was stuck in place, the hatchet was so close, he was in a state of shock.

He felt harsh metal hit his forehead.

Tomioka tensed, he watched the blood drip down his face.

He dropped his Katana, and dropped to his knees.

"He outsmarted me.." He stared down at the uncouncious boy, just then Tomiokas eyes rolled in the back of his head and he fell forward in the cold snow.

Giyuu opened his eyes and saw grey walls, he looked down and saw white sheets.

He recalled what happened, how was he not dead?

"My my, you've awoken I see." Shinobu said with a smile.

Giyuu lifted his head and stared at Shinobu.

He put a hand to his pounding head to feel stitches, Shinobu must of fixed him up while he slept.

"What happened?"

"You hadn't returned from your mission, it had been a good six hours. Your crow alerted us and I was sent to retrieve you, your welcome." She clasped her hands together as her smile grew.

"But, shouldn't I be asking you that? What happened? There was a whole hatchet in your head, I'm surprised your still alive after all the blood loss." She added on.

"A boy did this to me, he has a demon with himself, he refused to let me behead her, I knocked him out but i had forgotten about the hatchet that he threw at me."

Giyuu felt ashamed, how did he allow himself to lose to a average person? It seemed impossible.

Shinobu giggled. "That explains the writing left next to you."

Giyuu furrowed his eyebrows. "What writing?"

"the words "I'm sorry, I hope you make it out alive." We're imprinted in the snow."

Giyuu huffed. "That bastard.." He mumbled.

Shinobu shrugged. "Hey, at least he was considerate enough to leave a message."

"I need to get out of here." Giyuu pulled the sheets of his lap, his legs were on the floor when Shinobu warned him.

"Hey, be careful, you have stitches, where are you going anyway?" Shinobu asked questioningly.

"I'm gonna find him. He's put himself in a dreadful state. I need to find the demon as well, I want to send them to Urokodaki."

"Isn't that against the rules? You can send him there, but sending the demon there as well is the opposite of what should occur."

Giyuu was determined to find them, he had high hopes for them, he remembered how the demon had tried to protect Tanjirou earlier on, and he was impressed by the boys ability to harm him..

"Where's my Katana?"

Shinobu sighed at Giyuu and his stubbornness. "On the counter." She crossed her arms as she watched the man leave with his Katana around his waist.

Shinobu hoped that Giyuu wouldn't truly break the rules, as a corps member it would be her responsibility to tell.

Notes:

(Shinobu the tattle tale~) I might make this a 2/2 either that or I'll re-write this.

I hope this was enjoyed, sorry if it seemed rushed, I promise that was not the intention.

Also, this is fairly short, I think at least.
