Chapter Text
Solid Snake like, climbed over the side of a cliff. I want to see my little boy…
"This is Snake," he said, "Colonel, I've reached the infiltration point."
"Right on time, as always," Colonel Campbell said. Heh... no.
"Anyway, let's get started," Campbell said, "Commencing Operation Intrude F014."
"I've had enough of missions called 'Operation Intrude Whatever'," Snake said.
"Snake," Campbell sighed.
"I know." Snake rolled his eyes.
"Let's go over this one more time," Campbell said, "Your mission is to infiltrate Zanzibarland and rescue the kidnapped Czech biologist, Dr. Kio Marv. Also, we've provided you with a new anti-personnel sensor. Try switching it on."
Snake turned it on.
"'S on," he said, "Where can I find Dr. Marv?"
Dr. Marv has a transmitter implanted in one of his molars," Campbell explained.
"How does that work, exactly?" Snake asked, "Like, did they take out one of his teeth, shove the transmitter in there, and put it back?"
Campbell sighed, "I don't know. When you get close to him, he'll show up on your radar as a red dot, okay?"
He was definitely annoyed.
"Okay," Snake said.
"Use frequency 140.85 if you need to talk to me," Campbell said.
"Mm."
"Good luck. Over and out."
Campbell ended the call. Snake wandered around until he found a truck. He entered it and found a ration. He left and continued on until he found a fence. He got a call from Campbell.
"You can crawl to get through gaps in the fence," he said, "Over and out."
He ended the call.
"Thanks dad," Snake mumbled sarcastically.
He crawled through a hole in the fence. He kept crawling until he came to another hole in the fence, and then another. He got a call from Campbell.
"You can't sneak in through the front door. Use the vents," he said, "Over and out.
"Where the Hell are the vents?" Snake wondered aloud.
"Who's there?" yelled a guard.
"Aw shit, here we go again," Snake mumbled.
"No one!" he yelled, "I am just... a little creature. That's it. I cannot change this."
"What?" the guard asked.
Snake started to crawl away. The guard approached him.
"Intruder!" he yelled, pulling out his gun.
"Shoot," Snake mumbled, getting to his feet.
He ran off and climbed into a truck. That didn't deter his pursuers, but he did find a handgun. So that was pretty nice. Snake hopped out of the truck, ran from the guards, and found a vent.
"I really hope this isn't one of those situations where there's a slightly harder to access vent that ends up being the better option in the long run," Snake said, before climbing into the vent.
