Chapter Text
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, the goddess blessed the earth. Magic divine, and magic serene, her gentle words and gentle caresses would sweep across each Kingdom and village, alike.
And blessed especially was a sacred evergreen flower - whose petals were rumoured to have been plucked straight from her golden crown.
Little know of its whereabouts, and even littler few know of the flower's true capabilities. Thus, none had dared to seek it. Up until now, however.
A woman of little renown had once stumbled upon this ancient flower, and observing its power, its abandonment by humanity, relied on its eternity to sustain herself so that she could be its caretaker. After all, as a devout servant of the goddess, she took it upon herself to fulfil such a duty. Regardless of whether or not the goddess gazed upon her with approval.
Now, what stands in opposition to this devout follower lies a mother; a queen, bedridden and ill upon the coming birth of her child. If the rumours were indeed truthful of this flower, it could very well heal the sick, and offer security to what would otherwise, no doubt, become a tragedy within the annals of this kingdom's history.
Thus, a search ensues. Word spreads far and wide, every corner is near overturned for the sake of this dying queen. And finally, their labour is reaped; the flower is found.
But to the detriment of this devout follower, she is embittered by this kingdom's hindrance to her duty.
Ground down to its essence, mixed into a drink, the queen consumes and finds herself healed by the evergreen flower.
In turn, a daughter, beautiful and healthy, with long flowing locks of green petal-smooth hair is born. And with her, joy and wonder over these events sparks celebration; the release of lanterns, skyward, to praise the goddess above. But grand celebrations cast an equally grand shadow for a scheme to take place.
The palace, invaded upon; the child is stolen away...
And into the night, the lone follower walks, cradling this heavenly-blessed gift. Thus, to close off this tale she, ever so devoutly, vows to continue her eternal covenant no matter the form and no matter the being the goddess' power has been bestowed upon.
