Seungmin is conflicted. He finds his roommate’s boyfriend a very handsome lad. The man is too nice, and too comfortable around Seungmin. He would literally walk around their house half-naked. It’s fine, they’re all guys anyway. (or at least, that’s how Seungmin tries to convince himself). Except, Seungmin sometimes find it hard to tear away his focus from the very defined muscles right in front of him.
He blames it on the summer heat. The weather must’ve made him feel some sort of ways. Sure, the recent days had been humid and hot, it makes complete sense to dress down to cool the body temperature. He doesn’t know why Chan visits them so very often this specific season too. Chan has been together with Minho for a couple of years now but it’s only recently that Chan comes over. Almost as if, he’s preparing to slowly cohabit with his boyfriend. But would that mean kicking Seungmin out of lease?
Then again there’s also the countless of times Chan gave Seungmin back hugs while he does the dishes. The smile plastered on Chan’s face every time Seungmin gave him a compliment was enough to make his heart skip a beat. Is really getting kicked out?
It also doesn’t help that Seungmin has been single his entire life. He doesn’t know the limits of a couple nor when to step in and not cross their boundaries. He began to step on broken eggshells with the duo in the same living space as him.
Minho and Seungmin met through their college’s craigslist for apartment buddies. Their desperation had brought them together. Though now three years past graduation, they chose to continue living under the same rental lease for the sake of convenience, with no plans of moving out anytime soon. Fast forward to the present time, Seungmin now suffers living with a couple.
“You’ve been on the edge lately, everything okay?” Minho joins Seungmin on the couch. It was rare to have Seungmin sitting on the couch in the first place. The television was showing some food documentary and Minho knows Seungmin only watches it if he’s feeling down. It has been a while too since Minho wraps his arms around the younger one, but Seungmin allows himself to lean his weight on his roommate.
“I’ve been feeling a lot of stress lately, or I don’t know if it’s even stress… Maybe kind of empty? Hollow?” Seungmin groans but Minho continues to hold him close.
“Do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow? It’s been a while since we spent time together.”
Which is true, Chan comes over so very often that the roommates haven’t been having their fair share of quality time together.
“What about Chan? Will he be okay with that?”
“Hm? Chan? He’s not invited don’t worry. It’s just gonna be you and me, okay?” and Seungmin hums. He feels bad, what if he breaks their relationship for taking Minho away from Chan, and he also feels guilty because of how safe he feels in Minho’s arms and refuse to move away from him.
Many thoughts went through his mind that night. Why couldn’t he be the one for Minho to be in love with instead? Why is Chan still so nice to him after all these years? Despite getting caught for ogling at Chan’s bare body, Chan still never says a word about it. He feels conflicted at the way he wants both Minho and Chan to be pampering him with attention. Isn’t that too selfish and farfetched? Seungmin allows himself to silently cry himself to sleep.
Minho doesn’t bring up about how swollen Seungmin’s eyes were at the start of the day up and neither did he bring about Chan throughout the day. He puts Seungmin’s choices and thoughts as priority. Dragging him out for breakfast near their alma mater to relief some memories and struggles they went through while pursuing their degrees. Followed by taking a walk at the nearby park, despite the hot sun, the trees gave them the perfect shade and ambience to take a breather. When Minho notices Seungmin fidgeting with the hems of his shirt, Minho puts their hands together and doesn’t let go even if Seungmin wanted to.
They picked up pizza on their way back and had planned to marathon the Harry Potter movie series to end their day. To Seungmin, everything was perfect. He had the attention and affection showering to him and he allowed himself to bask in it. Ignoring the pang of guilt he’s been feeling throughout, Seungmin finds himself extremely exhausted when they finally stepped in the house.
To his surprise, a puppy soft toy was sitting on the floor right at the entrance. A post-it note was pasted on the toy’s forehead and Seungmin picks it up.
“Feel better soon Seungminnie, Minho and I both love you very much♡” he reads. He turns to Minho and pouts. Hugging the puppy soft toy tightly, his body finally breaks. Seungmin crouches as he sobs uncontrollably and tries to apologize endlessly to Minho.
“We love you Seungmin, stop apologizing,” Minho hugs the younger.

Halfway through the first movie, they heard the main door open.
“Chan’s here,” Minho kisses the crown of Seungmin’s head and both turned their heads to see the familiar figure walking in.
Chan melts when he sees Seungmin hugging to the gifted puppy soft toy while cuddling with his boyfriend. He opens his arms after settling next to Seungmin and the latter climbs into his arms.
“No more keeping to yourself okay baby, we’re here for you and you know it.” Chan smiles and with his free hand he reaches for Minho, signaling him to join their cuddling session.
“I’m sorr-” Seungmin was about to apologize again but Chan cuts him off.
“Try saying ‘thank you’ instead. We don’t bite,” Chan teased but Seungmin knows he said so with only good intentions.
“Thank you, both of you.” Seungmin scrambles up to give a kiss on Chan’s cheeks then to Minho.
“So Seungmin, would you like to be our boyfriend?”
Never too late to be asked officially.
“Yeah, I’d love that.” Seungmin replies, giddy with the thought of how pampered and loved he feels.
For the future that’s full of uncertainty, Seungmin is now able to push away any negative thoughts. He now has two boyfriends who he knows loves him as much as he loves the both of them.
