Chapter 1: is colorado real?

Chapter Text

It was a peaceful and harmonious day. It was quiet, and there was no one around to bother Sirius. That was, until he heard a knock at his door that simply seemed like it was from someone annoying. Meaning that it was either Ashe or Claire. "What?" Sirius snapped, making his irritation clear in his voice.

Sirius heard the most annoying voice sound behind the door. "Sirius! Can I talk to you for a moment?" Oh no! It was Sirius's arch enemy: Ashe Bradley. Sirius knew from experience that Ashe would not leave him alone until Sirius let him in. Sighing, Sirius opened the door and Ashe walked in.

"What do you want?" Sirius growled at his arch enemy.

Ashe smiled as if he didn't pick up on Sirius's fury. "I was thinking..." he rambled on incoherently. "Colorado..." was the only other word that Sirius could make out.

Sirius sighed. "You know, all of that 'Colorado' stuff isn't real." he said, making direct eye contact with Ashe.

Ashe's eyes were wide for a moment, until he burst into laughter. Sirius was quite baffled. "What?" He demanded.

"What..." Ashe was laughing still. "What do you mean??" Sirius glared at him.

"Colorado isn't real. It's a myth. Don't you know??" Sirius was even more baffled than before.

Ashe laughed once more. "Are you serious?"

Sirius took a moment to process Ashe's words, until he understood that Ashe did know Sirius's name. "Yes. Colorado is a myth. It's not real, but for some reason, many people think that Colorado is real. And it seems that you're a fool as well." Sirius laughed before returning to his work.

"I know Colorado is real! I've been there before!" Ashe was quick to defend Colorado's existence.

        "Is not!" Sirius retorted.

"Is too!" I think that's how children fight.

The arguing continued until both of their voices were exhausted and they were both out of breath. "Y...you know..." Ashe panted. Sirius glared at him. "I'll...take you to Colorado...then...we can see who's right..." he proposed. ...!!!

"Hah...I doubt that...Colorado...exists..." Sirius laughed weakly.

"I'll prove it to you...! That Colorado...exists..." Ashe said as loudly as he could in that state, which was not very loud. "We're going to Colorado together, Sirius...!"

Sirius sighed. "Colorado isn't real. Where will we even be going?"

"Let's go to Colorado together! Tomorrow!" Ashe was beginning to recover his breath.

"Hah! Ridiculous. But, whatever. I'd love to laugh at your idiocy when we arrive there."

Ashe laughed some more before leaving Sirius's room, finally allowing him to be alone. Ridiculous, Sirius thought before returning to his work.

Sirius was woken up very early in the morning by aggressive shaking. "Sirius! Sirius!" He heard his arch enemy's voice. "It's time! It's time!" The first thing Sirius saw that horrible day was his arch enemy's face: the face of Ashe Bradley, once again.

"...What do you want??" Sirius growled furiously.

"Our plane leaves in about 2 hours, so I think it's time for us to start packing!"

Sirius furrowed his eyebrows in both confusion and irritation that he was woken up so early. “What? Packing for what?”

Ashe seemed to ignore him. “Well…it’s time for you to pack. I’m already done.” He giggled the most annoying and high-pitched of giggles before getting off Sirius’s bed. “We’re going to Colorado together, Sirius! To prove that it exists.” Ashe seemed to hesitate before saying the next sentence.

“Going to Colorado? With you? Absolutely not!” Sirius shouted, trying to go back to sleep. It was 4 am. “What kind of demon possessed you and caused you to wake up earlier than 4 am!”

“I didn’t sleep.” So funny and cheeky.

“Huh. Usually, I would be surprised, but this is actually quite normal for you." Sirius placed a pillow on top of his head to block out Ashe's voice.

"Sirius, you need to start packing! I'm not going to Colorado without you!" Ashe got back on Sirius's bed, threatening to jump on it.

"I never agreed to go to Colorado with you! Besides, Colorado isn't even real." Sirius tried to push Ashe off his bed, but Ashe dodged his moves.

"Colorado is real!! Please come with me!" Ashe grabbed Sirius and was eventually able to pry Sirius out of his bed.

"No! No!" Sirius cried, desperately trying to escape, but it was no use. He was forced to pack for his trip to "Colorado". He doesn't remember much as that happened. All he remembered was lots of screaming and crying and desperately trying to resist against Ashe, but it never worked. "No! Ashe, I don't want to go into a massive hole in the ground!! Stop!!" Despite Sirius's screaming and crying, Ashe was able to force Sirius to get into the car, and off to the airport they went.

Sirius's clearest memories after that were in the plane. He was, of course, seated next to his arch enemy, Ashe Bradley. Sirius was asleep most of the time, thanks to his arch enemy waking him up at 4 am

"Sirius! Sirius!" Sirius was woken up yet again by furious shaking.

"What?" His arch enemy was bad, but he has never been this bad before. Saying that Colorado was real, waking him up at 4 am, and taking him on a trip to "Colorado" against his will? How much more would Sirius have to endure?

        "Sirius...Were you listening?" Ashe frowned.

"...No. And I don't want to know." Sirius attempted to look away from Ashe, but since he was forced to have the middle seat, as Ashe seemed unwilling to have it, Sirius had to stare at some random stranger instead. Unlike most strangers, Sirius wasn't as intimidated by this one. She was very short, with short, bright orange hair with an eyebleeding bright yellow thing and hood with little bunny...and scissor! Oh no. She was chatting with the fortunate bright green haired girl who got to have an aisle seat. Sirius couldn't help but feel jealous. They both had it much better than him.

"Sirius! Are you even paying attention to me anymore??" Ashe cried.

        Much better.

"No." Sirius couldn't stand his jealousy of those two girls anymore and instead, stared at the seat in front of him. He could watch the My Little Pony movie on that! He immediately started watching. Ashe immediately turned it off.

        "Sirius! Please! It's important!"

        "What is it?"

        "Look outside! It's so pretty!"

"...You woke me up for that?!" Sirius growled in fury. "Are you just trying to rub your window seat position in my face?!"

Ashe smiled emptily. Quietly, he said "Actually...that wasn't my intention..."

"Then, what in the world could it possibly be?!"

        "...Just look outside!"

Eventually, Sirius adjusted his position so that he could see outside through the window. Sirius was not a fan of heights, and it wasn't even that pretty outside. Was it coincidence, that the two girls immediately started laughing when he leaned over?

"...It isn't even that pretty outsi-" Sirius paused when he felt his hair being combed.

"The knots in your hair have been irritating me ever since we left." Ashe continued to comb Sirius's hair.

"Get your hands away from my luscious locks!" Sirius yelled, batting Ashe's putrid hands away from his lavender, luscious locks. Because his hair was longer on one side than the other, Sirius was constantly hunted down by those with no fashion taste. There were constant threats of the longer side being cut off lingering all around him. Ashe was an incredibly unscrupulous individual, one that absolutely could not be trusted. Not with trips to "Colorado", and most definitely not with Sirius's hair. People with longer hair on one side need to stick together.

Ashe let go of the brush, a shocked expression on his face. However, the brush was still in Sirius's hair. Ashe attempted to grab it.

"I said...don't...touch...my...lavender...luscious...locks...!" Sirius lunged at Ashe's luscious locks, (Though Ashe was Sirius's arch enemy, he had to admit that Ashe's locks were pretty luscious) undoing his braid and pulling his hair as hard as he could, which was not much, but it still seemed to hurt.

"Ow!!!!" Ashe desperately tried to push Sirius away, but Sirius's grip on his hair was so firm that even when he was pushed away, he still held Ashe's hair in his hands, only increasing the strength of Sirius's attack and causing more pain. "Stop!! Please stop!!" Sirius could see tears forming in Ashe's eyes, but it seemed Ashe didn't intend to show weakness, covering his face with his humongous sleeves.

Sirius eventually let go. “Don’t you think this is your rightful retribution for forcing me on a trip to a place that does not even exist?” Normally, Ashe would respond. However, he could not respond as he was currently crying hysterically. Though Sirius had ruined and undone Ashe’s hair, it still maintained somewhat of the same shape? Sirius finally looked away from Ashe. Those two girls seemed to be laughing a lot more than they were before. Sirius didn’t even want to think about anything else than the My Little Pony movie that he turned on.

The rest of the flight went along relatively normally, except for Ashe and Sirius fighting like how in my little pony those soldiers were fighting where they swipe their hands at each other’s hands or something and the green girl haired got out of her seat and demanded that they do not catfight and then once she left Ashe hissed at Sirius, which caused them to keep fighting until the flight was over.

Contrary to Sirius’s belief, the flight did eventually end and they were allowed to leave the plane. Sirius was hesitant to leave. What if I never return? Colorado isn’t real…I have no idea where Ashe is taking me…! Ashe was an especially suspicious person. Could Ashe have brought him here to die? Sirius did not want to die by the hands of his arch enemy. Anyone but his arch enemy. As Ashe left the plane, Sirius made sure to keep an eye on him.

When Sirius left, he saw Ashe waiting outside the plane for him, acting all innocent as usual. “You!” Sirius growled. “Where is this??”

“What do you mean?” Ashe smiled so innocently that there were the little pink flowers surrounding his face. “This is Colorado, Sirius. Colorado is real.”

“Okay, Colorado is real. Can we go back home now?”

“You’ve hardly even seen Colorado! If you hardly see any proof that Colorado is real, we’re going to keep arguing about it!”

“How long is this trip anyway?! I don’t even feel like being with you for one more second.”

        “A week.”

Sirius was so furious that he started jumping and breaking the concrete below him. “I am not spending a whole seven days with you.” He growled.

“You don’t have a choice.” Ashe replied. “Come on! Let’s go to the hotel!” Ashe forcefully grabbed Sirius’s hand and they ran all the way to the hotel, causing Sirius immense fatigue.

Colorado…Colorado isn’t real. What even is this place? Why did Ashe decide to go on a trip with me? This is ridiculous. However, Sirius had no choice. He either had to spend the week with Ashe in a place that didn’t exist, or die.
