“Dustin, I said I'd call you when I get there"
"Eddie...
"Steve? What are you doing with Dustin's phone? He is there? I'll be there in a moment"
"Eddie, I'm not at my house"
-What?
“I'm in your trailer with Robin and Dustin"
"I don't understand anything, you sent me a message to come to your house and now you're in my trailer. Why did you send me the message then?"
"Eddie, I didn't send any messages, it was Billy."
"How Billy? Wait a minute, I'm going to park"
Eddie got to the car at the bank and braked. He turned on the beacon so the other cars could see him in the dark of night, the headlights didn't shine much.
"Let's see, explain it to me."
"We had an argument, he-he got very upset and tried to hit me. I ran out and forgot my cell phone there, Billy texted you"
"Why did he send a message to me?" He could have sent Dustin or Robin or-
“Billy thinks I'm cheating on him with you"
There was a short silence on the line.
"He texted you because he wants to hit you. Eddie he is going to kill you. Please come back and I'll tell you everything but please don't go or he'll kill you"
Eddie could hear Steve sobbing through the phone. His heart broke to hear it, he knew the shit Steve was going through and that Billy was to blame.
"Okay, I'm going there, calm down."
Steve cut and collapsed on the floor falling to his knees and crying. Dustin and Robin hugged him, the bruise on his eye burning with tears and pain from having just gotten it.
