As Juna’s parents were not home and no one to watch over Ken and Nana, Juna came back to Crossbell with Kurt in tow. Thankfully, it was a summer holiday, so that Juna could go back to Crossbell without having to worry about what would happen in Thors. To note, Musse and Altina asked for a souvenir, but it could wait until later, since they likely need to buy some for Ash and Instructor Rean as well.
They were lovers now, but at times they would not be so sure about skinship. Juna tried not to be too clingy to Kurt while Kurt was taking his time with things, which was fine. There was no rush between them, and Juna liked how things went. She was happy that Kurt was open with her and enjoyed her company from time to time.
“Ken and Nana should be happy to see you again, Kurt.” Juna said as they walked down from Crossbell Station.
“Really?” Kurt chuckled. “It’s good then, sorry that I don’t bring anything for them.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. I should be the one who’s sorry for dragging you out of the blue.”
Juna took a chance to entwine her fingers with Kurt. Kurt was a bit red but he tightened their joined fingers, walking side by side in step until they reached the lobby of Juna’s home apartment.
Ken and Nana greeted them as they arrived. Both of her brother and sister came to give her a big hug while Kurt was watching on the sidelines, a smile on his face.
“Oh, it’s Juna’s husband!” Ken piped when his eyes laid on Kurt.
“Juna’s husband!” Nana echoed after him.
Juna couldn’t help but to pinch on Ken’s cheeks to make her younger sister do the same as him. Juna was beet red though because of them. “Now, now! You make him uncomfortable!”
Kurt meanwhile only chuckled and gave Ken and Nana a pat on head.
“Juna-neechan, I’m bored, how about we go play somewhere?” Nana asked, pulling on Juna’s arm.
Juna looked over to Kurt, who was seemingly thinking. They could play in the park nearby but these kids should have been too bored of it by now as they were in summer holiday and mostly home. Mishelam might be too far and they won’t make it back before late at night so it might be not exactly safe for the kids.
“While we’re here, how about we go to a zoo?” Kurt suddenly sprung an idea.
Ken happily jumped after he heard Kurt’s suggestion. “Oh! Oh! I want to go, I want to go!”
Juna gave Kurt a wink and mouthed a thank you to him, who nodded in return.
It was decided that they would go to a zoo today. What a good start to a summer holiday for her siblings.
Juna, Kurt, Ken and Nana were going to a nearby zoo by Crossbell City. Seeing the excitement in Ken and Nana’s eyes was enough for Juna to be fired up as well. She noticed Kurt watching the two with a fond look, Juna then nudged on Kurt’s arm.
“How about you explain to them about the animals, Kurt? I know they will be happy.”
“Wow, you know a lot about animals, Kurt-nii?” Ken asked, he took one of Kurt’s free hands and nudged him to visit the left part of the zoo first, the land animals. “Here, here, show us!”
“Show us!” Nana followed.
“Don’t run too fast, Kurt might not be able to keep up!” Juna reprimanded them, in which Ken replied to his older sister with a gleeful grin.
Hand in hand, they then took a tour from the land animals area first. Juna and Kurt were holding hands while Nana took Juna’s and Ken took Kurt’s.
Just as Kurt had promised Ken, he started to explain about things he knew, while the eager two were listening intently and asked a lot, much to Kurt’s dismay. Juna laughed all day to see how Kurt was faring against her overly-energetic siblings, he was clearly overwhelmed while handling the kids.
It felt like she had seen another side of him, which was fun and exhilarating.
They fed the elephants together, took a photo with performer monkeys, then watched an aquatic show around the center part of the zoo. They stopped briefly for lunch then took a leisure walk in the bird sanctuary.
The four then went home at sundown, both Ken and Nana were tired after running and playing a lot that they both slept, leaning on Juna during the train ride. When they arrived at the stop, Kurt helped Juna to carry Ken on his back.
“So, how was the experience of being the big brother for a day?” Juna chuckled, seeing Kurt sighed before laughing as well.
“It was certainly an experience,” Kurt replied. “But it was truly fun. I think I learned a lot.”
“Hey, I don’t think this is worth to be too serious about,” Juna playfully elbowed Kurt on his side, he retaliated with a step back, giggling. “Though, thank you.”
Kurt looked over at Juna, his brows went up in questioning.
“For taking them out, I’m happy to see them happy.”
Juna briefly stopped walking, urging Kurt to stop as well. Juna took this moment to place a chaste kiss on Kurt’s left cheek, then she walked faster, leaving him.
“Ju-Juna? What was-?”
“That’s for the reward~”
