stone was writing on their stickynotes as usual, at least until they realized how sleepy they were, but they needed to stay awake, they had stuff to write down. they just needed to stay up a little longer and than they could get sleep. they also had to clean the floor, there were stickynotes everywhere, and they couldnt sleep with notes on the ground, considering there was also some tape stuck there, the mess was from a try at crafts anyways so it wasnt just going to be thrown to waste. stone continued to try to stay awake, the eye on their forehead having the same sleepiness as stone themself. stone decided to continue writing on the stickynote, still trying to stay awake. writing and writing, it gets tiring, doesnt it? stones mind started to drift away and stone rolled backwards a bit before snapping back to reality. still writing, and writing, and writing. stone was trying their best, but before stone knew it, they had already fallen asleep.
stone rolled from side to side, moving in their sleep. their dream didnt matter, they just wanted to be able to rest, just a little, than they would wake up and go back to what they were doing. stone than felt something on their back. the mass of stickynotes and tape was sticking to them, which was rather embarrassing. stone drifted deeper into sleep, forgetting about waking up, and just fell deeper into dreaming. stone felt the notes stick tighter, which was strange, considering the mass of blue paper and tape was inanimate. maybe it was just part of the dream, they didnt know. as the mass of notes dug tighter, stone became more and more concerned, as they felt it... fusing into their back? hold on, paper couldnt do that. they felt as the blue paper became less and less like paper and more and more like skin... they didnt know how to feel about it. suddenly, the paper felt way different, it felt smooth and fluffy rather than rough and tight. stone, freaked out, impulsively grabbed on, they were asleep so they didnt know what would happen to them. they felt as the notes became one, the tape assisting in helping it stick together and fuse. it than began to grow in size, getting larger and larger until it quickly stopped. horrified as what would happen next, they snapped awake, only to find that the notes, no, tail, had formed into one, fully. what world was stone living in where stuff like this could physically happen?
the tail had flinched in response to stones sudden waking up, causing the note and the pencil to be flung upwards. stone looked at the tail, which was freakishly huge. it was blue, just like the stickynotes. stone also noticed that the note they were writing on, as well as the pencil, had been knocked out of view, which sucked. stone felt the tail, stroking it gently. the tail twitched, which startled stone. why was it so big, and how was stone going to deal with this thing? stone got up, and moved it a little. it was hard to move without it moving with a bit of exaggeration, not what stone wanted. suddenly, it quickly moved between stones thighs, which caused them to end up sitting on top of it, almost like riding it. stone did not do that, the tail did. stone was still able to move it, but the tail also seemed to have a mind of its own and moved on its own as well, it was like two people in the same body. stone just decided to sit on it, its softness calmed them and made them sleepy, and before they knew it they had fallen asleep once more.
time passed.
stone woke up, the tail was laying down on its side as if it had been knocked over. the 3rd eye was looking at stone, and then moved its eyes to the tail. stone was looking around for a while, when stone felt a tug on their tail, and started to get dragged on the floor. stone looked at their tail to see if anyone or anything was pulling it, but there was nothing. instead, the tail was moving on its own, dragging stone with it. stone tried to stop it like say an animal would, but they couldnt. it was like the tail was breaking free from stones control. sure, it was connected to them like any normal tail but it seemed to be a different entity, despite just being a tail. stone tried to stand up, but fell down, and was helplessly being dragged by the tail. stone at this point realized they had no control over the tail, and probably never would. stone tried to remove it, but it made the tail stop instead. the tail than stood on its front side and stone ended up mid-air. it than started spinning stone around a bit before stopping and messing around more. it was like stone was the tail and the one that had it was testing them out for the first time. what if stone was going to turn into the tail next? stone had to stop thinking and get back on the ground. stone grabbed onto the tail and moved it up just enough for the tail to end up mid-air again. the tail than looked at stone, towering over them like when the two first met.
they were going to stick together, even in death, and stone was hopelessly stuck to this sentient tail. stone didnt want to destroy it, they just wanted to get rid of it and get back to what they were doing. stone looked to the ground in despair, they wanted to separate from it, not hurt it. stone cried a little, they didnt want to do anything to it. it was alive, it had feelings too. they felt helpless, and cried more. just crying, and crying, tears of sadness forming a puddle on the ground. they sat, just crying. by the time they were done, they were completely wet and their eyes were red from crying so much. they looked at the tail, and it was looking back at them. so many emotions flooded stones head, they couldnt think straight. they looked at the tail again, and did the only thing that they could. they ran over to it and jumped onto it, hugging it. it felt so good, having something to hold on to when you were sad. it felt nice, its fluffiness felt so calming. the calmness of the tail made stone want to keep hugging it, and stone did, they didnt want to let go of it. stone felt so happy and relaxed. stone didnt want to get rid of the tail anymore, they felt better off keeping it, as it would stay with them even when they were sad. they decided to embrace it, keeping it by their side, still hugging it but not so tightly, they didnt want to choke it. they started to pet it, stroking its fur. they loved it. it was all that was on their mind.
stone was just sitting down, writing in their notes, tail laying next to them. stone was just minding their own business, when they felt a tingling sensation on the tail. this was something new. the tail started ripping, was their companion turning back into paper? they watched, and than realized that they werent dying, they were changing. stone watched in amazement as the tail slowly grew a mouth, being able to speak.
"hello, master."
stone looked at them, happy. it grew to its final phase. it could speak normally now. stone had to show this to everyone else. "do you mind if i show you to the public?" stone signed.
"no, not at all."
stone walked to a crowd, waving happily. the tail happily greeted everyone else with a hello. stone expected everyone to be happy, but everyone just ran away in fear. stone thought everyone would love their tail. stone decided to try to talk to their tail for a while. "how do you feel about being the tail?" stone signed.
"it feels alright. im getting used to the being alive thing pretty well."
"why were you spinning me around?" stone signed.
"i was just seeing how strong i could be. maybe thats why you wanted to take me off, becuase of what i did. it might have not been in that order, but i still knew what had happened. sorry master."
"its ok." stone signed. stone was talking to their tail, not really, but stones tail knew what they were saying, and it could talk. it didnt want to be a translator tho, which kinda sucked. stone decided to write about their day while their tail accompanied them. the day was fun, and stone had gotten used to their tail.
