It’s hard when you don’t know what to do with yourself, when you’re tossing and turning at night wondering how it ended up this way; the people who love you stand in front of you waving at you with a smile and you walk away from it because you know in the end
you’ll hurt them eventually.
Because it’s the only thing you’re capable of doing to people who put their trust in you, right?
In the end they’ll be disappointed in you and you’re left wishing you would’ve just told them
sweet, sweet lies.

So you don’t have much of a choice as to who you confide with, and you’re a little fucked up the way you find him attractive; a slender body occupying the space of a sleek jet black suit accompanied by a pink tie that frankly, you think, suits him.
And you can’t help but notice when he presents himself on stage to an imaginary crowd in an attempt to relive the days when he was adored, he has no one else to look at but you;
and when you share that glance you can’t help but pity him – you can see a sadness in his eyes but you can’t tell if they’re the eyes of a lost sheep or the eyes of a siren that beckons you.
There is tension in your relationship with him, he often bears his fangs at you and you do the same to him but there are times where
sometimes it just doesn’t make any sense
sometimes it might not need to make sense
sometimes when
the night grows quiet and nobody’s around you find yourselves
Burning.
And he whispers: “We shouldn’t be doing this,”
and you agree but it’s addicting the way he
Sinks his fingers into your back and you hiss
not because it hurts but because it feels so different than hurting from the lies you tell
that sting your tongue
it hurts in a way that makes you feel like nobody else can ever
make you feel this way.
