Viviane Morgan is the second born of the Weasley children. She was a surprise extra on November 29, 1970, just two minutes William Arthur ‘Bill’ Weasley was born. Nonetheless, the new parents were overjoyed and celebrated the birth of their new kids.
Following in true Weasley Fashion, she was named after two important females from Arthurian legends. Viviane originates from the “Lady of the Lake”, being another name of which the main character was known as. Morgan derived from Morgan Le Fay, sister to King Arthur.
She was raised well, never treated like she was unwanted. She had everything she could ever want, which wasn’t much because she was well informed of the financial status of her parents. Viviane was the first to ever show signs of being a witch, even before she turned one years of age. Bill and her had somehow ended up on a window’s ledge, and by accident her brother threw her off the ledge. Instead of hitting the ground, Viviane began to levitate mid air.
What made her differ from Bill was a skill no one had any record of being born with. She was a natural born animagus, a black and white dog to be exact. From the time she was ten months, she could perform uncontrollable shifts in and out of dog form at random. Her parents sought out the help of the ministry, but no luck prevailed in the Weasley’s favor.
For 5, almost 6, years Viviane struggled with countless new discoveries each day. For example, from the age of 2 she developed a rather strong form of Legilimency. Of course, she had no control or experience over it so she would constantly be overwhelmed by unknowingly invading the minds of everyone around her.
Breakdowns became a normal thing for Viviane; crying, hyperventilating, severe shaking almost like a seizure, incoherent, jumbling, etc. Bill developed a system, a way to calm her down. Besides the normal bear hugs and familiarity of his scent (due to her heightened senses), he would have her count of five things. Each thing pertained to one of the five senses.
In the middle of 1976, Albus Dumbledore contacts Molly and Arthur Weasley via owl. He offered his condolences to Viviane’s problems and offered a solution to the animagus issue, one young Sirius Black. Black was a dog animagus, like how five years old Viviane was. He taught her how to channel positive emotions into a shift, but made it ultimately known that control would come with experience.
The December after Bill and Viviane turned seven was one that will never be forgotten. Molly and Arthur Weasley were very occupied with putting one year old Percy Weasley to bed at about ten pm and third born Charles ‘Charlie’ Weasley had already fallen asleep in his room. The red headed twins had wandered into the woods surrounding the comfy burrow, them not knowing the moon was full. They didn’t mean for anything to happen, they were just two small kids having fun. They didn’t know Bill was gonna get tackled by a werewolf, who was mid transformation. They were planning on Viviane showing extraordinarily courage and protecting her brother in the face of danger, causing both of them to get deep blood drawing claw scratches from Fenrir Greyback. Bill would forever be scarred on his face while Viviane would be along the bridge of her nose and right side of her stomach.
While being only inches away from being bitten, her fear kicked in and she managed to escape in her animagus form with her brother. Despite the large trails of blood left in the grass, they made it home. Viviane had barked for what felt like several hours before a worried and appalled Molly Weasley ran outside. The twins made almost a full recovery, the doctors warned the Wealseys that the two oldest ones would have the scars for however long they live. The mother of 3, soon to be 5, was happy her two oldest were ok, but dreaded what would happen when the next full moon came around.
The spring after Viviane and Bill turned ten, their Hogwarts letters were received the for upcoming 1981-1982 school term. But, these letters were delivered in person by Dumbledore’s trusted friend Severus Snape. Snape was sent to not only deliver the letters, but drop off a special potion to assist Viviane with her uncontrollable legilimency problems.
During her time at Hogwarts, she was heavily tutored by Severus and Minerva McGonagall in hopes that she can grow to control and become ‘one’ with her abilities. Snape taught her the best he could on how to control her legilimency at will, McGonagall taught her how to control her animagus and not let every single emotion warrant a shift.
After she graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Viviane went into the ministry for a short period of time, around eight months. She then joined her brother Bill as curse-breaker for Gringotts in Egypt. She brought along her black Maine Coon cat named Hi-Jinx and Niffler she adopted from Hagrid in her fifth year. The two oldest Wealseys remained in Egypt for around 2 years before Viviane got accepted into Auror training. She then promptly requested to be sent home, and applied for a temporary position at Hogwarts in order to be closer to home, have an easier time getting to Auror training, and keep herself busy.
Viviane is beyond excited to start her Auror training, as that’s what she’s aspired to be since she was little. But, what happens next is way more than she bargains for.
