“Jarvis, call Ren for me.” Tony continues working on his latest project. “yes sir.” the line rings a couple times before cutting off. “did they just hang up on me?” the billionaire sets his tools down, a tone in his voice that showed he wasn’t actually angry. “shall i try them again?” Jarvis asks. “might as well.” Tony shrugs and picks up his tools again. the line rings, then cuts again. “..Ren is here, right?” he sets his tools down and starts pacing the room. “yes, mx Ren is still in the building.” Tony grumbles under his breath as he paces. “shall i make a suggestion?” Jarvis interrupts.
“fine.”
“perhaps you should go looking for them. maybe they need some..reassurance or comfort.” Tony laughs. “i am the wrong person to go to for comfort..but, i guess it wouldn’t hurt to check on them. how long has it been since i saw them?” “approximately 10 hours, sir. you have been down here for a good two days. they came to bring you food and water during the night.” Tony nods. “right. oh shit!” the man rushes out of the room.
“Ren?” Tony hurries around the building in search of his partner. “Ren?” he knocks on the door to Rens room. “..it’s open.” the response is barely audible. he enters and sees the avenger curled up in a blanket cocoon. “whatcha watchin?” Tony asks as he pads over to his lovers bed. “friends.” they mutter. “ah cool. is it alright if i sit with you?” Ren shrugs and moves over to make room. “okay so, hypothetically, if i didn’t know what was bothering you, what would you say? this is 100 percent hypothetical, because why wouldn’t i know what’s bothering my love.” Ren can’t help but smile slightly. “you are such a dork.” they turn to face him. “i guess i’m still not over Coulson. i don’t know what it is for sure, but..yeah.” Tony blinks. “didn’t think they would actually tell me.” he thought. without hesitation, he puts his arm around their shoulders and pulls them close to him, wrapping his other arm around them in a hug. they rest their head on his chest, listening to the steady thump of his heart and the slight whirring of the reactor. “im..i’m sorry i haven’t been paying as much attention to you as i should be.” Ren starts to protest, but Tony stops them. “don’t say it’s not a big deal, because it is. you deserve better. i want to give you better.” Ren lifts their head. “how do you plan on doing that?” Tony smiles. “we are going to watch the entirety of this show together, and we are going to cuddle the whole time.” Ren hugs him tighter. “thank you.” Tony kisses their head. “anything for you, my love.”
