Aaron Hotchner stood just a ways from where Penelope's makeshift room that she had to stay in for her protection at the BAU and his heart went out to her she was like a little sister to him and he hated that she had lost her sparkle. What really irked him was he had broken his vow to protect her even though logically he couldn't always be there but this time he should have inquired more on her what things she would look up and so thought the troll doll he had gotten her would cheer her up some along with his presence as Jack was at his aunts he had the evening free to keep her company.
He made his way to the door and knocked softly so as not to startle her badly as she seemed to be concentrating on what looked to be food if what he was smelling was correct "Garcia... Penelope" said lady stopped the motions of making a veggie omelet for her dinner and turned to look at her Boss man and smiled at him even though it didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Hey Boss man you want to join me for dinner im making a veggie omelet if your interested"
Before he answered he pulled the troll doll he got her from behind his back and handed it to her with a smile and when he got her usual blinding smile that was genuine he was super happy that he was getting his little sister ray of sunshine extraordinaire back and finally answered her
"I would love to Penny, but I have to ask do you have Jalapeños to put into the omelet?" Aaron used his nickname for her as he was the only one on the team allowed to and get away with it.
"Do I, Do I have... I've loved anything spicy since i was 12 so of course I have here you can chop"
"No problem, I shouldn't have doubted your love of spice" he replied with a cheeky grin that only she got to see.
It was worth being a fool to see her wondrous smile light up her face and counted this as a big win of his ways of cheering up his bubbly tech and decided to make sure he would protect her as long as he had breath in his body and enjoyed the fact he was getting to spend some time with her and made a note to ask her round for lunch when this was over so Jack could spend time with his Aunt Penelope as his son loved her just as much as he did.
