Contradict

Summary:

Porsche was that annoying big brother that Porchay wished would go away so that he could live happily. Then his world flipped at nine and everyone was gone and Porsche was the only one left in that hospital bed, sleeping. Then, Porsche was gone too.
Porchay wished for Porsche to come back to him but he would not.
But fifteen years later, he sees his brother again as the omega that was Kinn's mate and underground information seller. And his World flipped again

Notes:

This is set in the Omegaverse where every Prime Alpha presents at 12 and they have an omega fated to be theirs. Prime omegas are rarer and most often end up being trafficked and experimented on.
Kinn is a prime alpha and Porsche was his mate but he disappeared from the hospital and Porchay meets his brother after KP finally decide to marry and mate each other after five years of tentative courtship, which was basically just Porsche finding excuses to get Kinn a better "mate" and Kinn trying to convince Porsche that "better" did not exist for him.

Chapter 1: Love, Your Word of Love

Chapter Text

Porchay never wished in vain. After all you never know which of your wishes came true.

He was nine when his world flipped.

Porchay had a perfect little family. His mother was a sweet, sweet beta woman. Porchay always associated her with honey, like her name Namphueng. His father was a strong, strong alpha male who would make every bad thing disappear. They were perfect and caring and loving and disgustingly in love.

His perfect little family.

Except for his menace of an older brother Porsche.

Ever since he could remember, Porsche was this loud, obnoxious older brother who was a terror to have. Porsche was four years his senior, but acted as if he was forty years older, domineering and bossy. Everywhere he went, he was followed by his older brother. Porsche’s reputation preceded him. His kindergarten teacher had paled when he called out his name for the first time and frantically asked his father if Porchay resembled his older brother in any way. His primary school’s teaching staff always remarked that he and Porsche were nothing alike and how grateful they were. Porsche was a nightmare and a genius- always participating in Taekwondo contests and getting A+ in all his exams. But also pulling pranks left and right and arguing back and forth. Porchay was not that extraordinary- he was above average in his academics and mediocre in sports. He was not brilliant but he was the most well behaved child one could come across. He was a sweet little thing that unfortunately had an older brother who would call Porchay from upstairs to pick up the remote just an arm’s length away from him and kick him and step on him to get the first servings and steal his food and burp in his face and pull him into the swimming pool just for the sake of it.

Porchay really wished that Porsche would disappear.

He was like other kids, blissfully unaware of the secondary genders. He knew vague things - like Alphas were the best and strongest and Omegas were these meek, docile things that looked pretty and betas were ordinary folks. He wanted to be like his Pa- a strong alpha who would make pain fly away. Porsche was also most likely to present as an Alpha, everyone said that about the Taekwondo champion. Porchay, though, was more prone to being an omega.Porchay thought it was not fair for his already dominating brother to be alpha.

He wished for his brother to be anything but an alpha.

He was eight when something in their family changed. When he came home to his mother pacing below the staircase. His father and brother had locked themselves in the tiny room that Porsche used. There were whines and whimpers and moans. Only his Pa would come out to take food and return utensils.

His Ma explained to him that Porsche had presented in school as an omega. At a tender age of 12, his older brother had gone into heat during the PT class. Normally, people would differentiate at 16.

A week later Porsche had to be admitted to a hospital. His body could not stand the stress of the heat. Pa helped him through it, scenting and protecting him. Keeping him fed and hydrated and pressing cold pads to his skin - but Porsche was still a pre-teen.

Porchay thought that his brother would change into those soft, tender omegas that appeared on TV- caring and kind. Porsche still stayed the same, much to his dismay. If anything, he became worse. He would come back with wounds, always angry. He was easily irritated and sensitive to scents and lash out at everyone.

A few months later, something happened. Porsche stuck behind his father for days, alert and scared. He monopolized Pa’s time and Porchay hated it. Someone tried to mark him in school- his Ma had explained, her eyes were sad. Porchay did not understand a word. Then Porsche started wearing a thick collar around his neck- like Woof King that lived down the road. But Porsche’s collar was blue like a sky made of pretty material and had diamonds on it, like his name Pachara.

Then, everything changed abruptly.

Porsche was being his annoying self as he planted his feet across the three- seater couch. And stuffed the remote in between the cushions as he continued watching a taekwondo match. Porchay wanted to watch his show.

He started getting handsy with Porsche. Clawing and pinching- doing anything to get the remote. Porsche of course easily subdued him and pinned him down effortlessly. Presenting as an omega did not deter his brother’s strength. Accidentally, his hand scratched at his brother naked neck. Porsche let out a high pitched wail. Ma was home that day- she had her weekly day off for work. Porsche retreated into a corner of the couch. He kept on whimpering and whining. It took Ma an hour to coax his brother to his room, her neutral scent did not calm him. Pa came home in the evening. He soothed Porchay first. It was all good, until Pa went upstairs to Porsche’s room.

They came down for dinner, with Porsche hiding behind Pa. He stayed away from Porchay, eyeing him funnily. The dinner was a tense affair and Porchay hated every second of it. It all went to hell when Porsche flinched when Porchay tried to grab the pickle next to him. He started shouting and then Ma was shouting and then Pa was trying to calm them down and Porsche stayed silent.

“He was given the collar, why did he not wear it?”

Someone shouted and then Porsche growled. He looked at Porchay the same way he looked at Tharn, his classmate who tried to overpower him.

“I thought I was safe at home” Porsche had shouted back, “It's your fault, you can’t control that shit.”

Pa slapped Porsche. Porsche bit Pa. Ma stared at them.

“I wish you were gone, Hia” Porchay remembered sobbing out when it all got too much to bear.

The house stayed tense for a week. Porsche would sneak in and out of the house, silent and glaring at the three of them. He would eat his food in his room and skip dinner if someone forced him to come out. He also started wearing his collar around them. Porsche had a tournament at the City Stadium. Ma and Pa drove him to the venue and Uncle Thee stayed with him.

That day was the worst. They were supposed to get back home by night. Porsche would get a silver or gold medal, he would create ruckus and grin all the time, they would get takeout from Porsche’s favorite Indian Eating Place. And Porsche would then show off the medal and rub it in Porchay’s face.

What they got instead was a phone call from a hospital.

Uncle Thee had taken them there. They got into an accident and were in critical condition. Ma and Pa were more likely to wake up. But Porsche had the most severe injuries. It was most likely that he would never get up. And even if he did, it would most definitely affect his day to day activities. His injuries were the most severe.

He stayed at the hospital. The nurses would help him. Some people would regularly check on them but Porchay was in a daze. He stayed with Ma during the day and Pa during the night. He could not bring himself to face his brother.

A week later, Pa passed away and Ma followed him after two days. A lot of people attended their funeral. Porchay knew none of them, he did not care.

The first time he visited his brother, he could not recognise him. He was wrapped in bandages and had that strange mask on his face and there were casts on his leg and hand and neck. He looked small. Porchay would go to school and come back to the hospital. He would go home once in a while, it became a cold place- silent without his brother’s antics. Uncle Thee would bring him food and clothes and look after him. He would tell Porsche about everything that happened and curl up against his brother while the machines beeped. Auntie told him the beeps meant his brother was alive. A month later his brother woke up. He needed the mask to breathe and he was not able to speak. The omega looked confused. He nosed Porchay’s neck, smelling him.

Three days later, Uncle Thee disappeared and Porsche was gone too.

Police were called and no one could figure out anything. He stayed in a foster home for a month.

I wish you were gone, Hia.

You were gone.

I wish.

You were gone.

And now his Hia was really gone. His annoying Hia who would punch and kick anyone who dared to hurt Porchay. The one who would help out with his homework and the one whose reputation scared away the bad boys in his class. His Hia, who was the only one left with Porchay, was gone and Porchay was alone in a foster home. He wished Hia would come back. He wished frantically for that.

But Hia did not come back.

He was adopted by his father’s estranged brother and his alpha husband. Years went by and Porchay presented as an Alpha on his sixteenth birthday. Bun and Tan sat him down and gave him the ‘pheromone talk’,the two alphas were determined to raise him right as a proper alpha devoid of all the alpha-omega bulshit. Porsche would have demonstrated to him that the alpha omega stereotypes were bulshit that stank the worst.

He met his idol crush when he was seventeen, an Alpha Wik. Porsche would have been his batchmate. His real name was Kim and Porchay got him to teach him guitar, something he already knew. He gathered a lot of courage to ask him out after he passed his medical school exams. They dated for a month or two before they could not do it anymore. Porchay, heart broken, immersed himself into the school. They met again. This time Kim was the one to ask him out. They took a break when it got too much for Porchay to handle with his final year. Then, they got together again. Then they broke up when some family drama happened and Kim disappeared for two months without any information, like his brother who never came back to him. Porsche would have teased him so much for this on-again-off-again relationship.

They eventually sorted their mess. Porchay met Kim’s family. They were a pack of Alphas. Tankhun was the oldest brother, a mess in what was an aftermath of a traumatic kidnapping. Vegas was this creepy Alpha cousin who lived only for his younger brother Macau and chaos. Macau was his batchmate from school (the world really was small) who played in the national football team. Their father, Kan, freaked the ever loving fuck out of Porchay. But he was a housecat compared to Korn, the old patriarch of the Theerapanyakun pack and former pack alpha. That old man smelled nuts. But the scariest of them all was Kinn, the middle brother and the pack alpha. He was a thing straight out of legends, a prime alpha. He was a silent person, never interfering and always protecting his pack. He never forced his brothers to be anything. Everyone who worked for the Theerapanyakuns respected and revered him. Porchay heard rumors about how Kan and Korn did their utter best to isolate Kinn from the family. How Kinn had accepted everything, let them undermine him and oppress him. Until Kim was caught dating an alpha girl and Korn tried to force him into a conversion camp. That's when Kinn forcefully took over the pack and dethroned his father- all for his brother. Kinn was someone who put his loved ones before himself. And Porchay could respect that and fortunately, he became part of that list of people. But he still was scared of the prime alpha.

Porsche he believed would give Kinn a run for his money.

But Porsche was not there. He was a child back then but now he could imagine what happened to his brother and death was the best thing that could have happened to his brother. But Porchay never wished for that. He did not know which of his wishes could come true. So if by any miracle, Porsche is out there, happy and safe, he does not want to jinx him.

After all, one should never wish in vain. After all you never know which of your wishes came true.

And Porchay wished for his brother to be happy everyday, like a ritual.
