Notes:

Hello, everyone.

I enjoyed the Double Life series so much I decided to write a story about it.

I hope you enjoy. :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Humble Beginnings

Chapter Text

Having played on the Last Life server, where Scott, also known as Smajor, so graciously invited you since you two were rather good friends, brought you a lot of wonderful things. You were a smaller content creator on the platform, but you did not mind it one bit. The series raised your viewership significantly, but most importantly, this opportunity introduced you to new people and fellow Minecraft players.

However, you were still very surprised when Grian, creator of the 3rd Life and Last Life servers, invited you to join his newest series called the Double Life.

Grian: Hello, I was wondering if you would be interested in joining my newest Minecraft series?

(Y/Y/N): Hello, I would love to join, Grian. :)

(Y/Y/N): It was very nice playing with everyone.

Grian: Wonderful! :)

Grian: We were all very happy to have you.

You smile at the kind message before your fingers start moving efficiently around the keyboard to ask more about this new server. Who could blame you, you were incredibly curious. After all, Grian always came up with the most creative and fun ideas.

(Y/Y/N): May I ask who will be joining us as well?

Grian: So far we have Etho, Scar, Joel, Timmy, Scott, Cleo, Bdubs and Pearl. However, I am still waiting for some people to reply.

(Y/Y/N): And what will it be about? If I can ask.

Grian: Basically, people will be bonded together, something like soulmates.

Grian: I will explain everything once I create a group chat  with everyone.

(Y/Y/N): Okay, I will be looking forward to it. :)

(Y/Y/N): Have a lovely day, Grian.

Grian: You as well!

Later it was explained to you that the way the server and mechanics operate will be mildly different from the previous servers. Every person will have three lives with distinct colours for a separate number of lives - green for three lives, yellow for two lives and red for one life. Like last time, a player becomes hostile once their name turns red and if you lose your last life, you are out of the series. That much is the same.

However, this specific series came with a twist as Grian later explained. This time we will be soul bound to another player. If one player takes damage, both players take damage. The health bar is shared by both players. If one player dies, so will the other.

You already loved the idea and you were curious of how everyone would take this challenge on. You already had a few ideas yourself.

But most importantly, you were curious who will be chosen as your in-game soulmate.

And so with each day you anticipated the day the server would be opened and ready for everyone and their mischief and fun pranks. Thankfully, the day came very fast so you were not waiting for too long.

And so you turned on your computer and minecraft on 1.19 thirty minutes before the session was supposed to take place to make sure everything was functioning as it was supposed to. You checked your proximity chat was working properly even though you do not really need it for speaking. However, you want to be able to hear everyone just fine.

After making sure everything was ready you quickly made your way to the kitchen to get a glass of water since everyone will be sitting by their computers for a few hours. There will be a small break, of course, but it is still nice to stay hydrated and 100% focused on the things right in front of you.

Once you sink back into your comfy chair you check the group chat once more and notice a new message from Grian as well as a few other people.

Grian: Alright everyone, the server is ready. You can start logging in now. And make sure to be there on time, please.

Scar: Ay, ay, captain.

SolidarityGaming: Roger that. >:)

(Y/Y/N): Will do, Grian.

You take another moment to check everything is truly working before you log in the server. By the time you do, most people are already there. You quickly greet them in the chat and they either do the same or simply answer verbally.

Soon everyone is there and the session can officially begin. Everyone gathers in a circle and simultaneously says ‘Hello!’ which you can’t help but laugh at heartedly. You send your own hello in the chat, too lazy to use the soundboard at the moment.

A silence follows the group greeting and then everyone runs off in different directions. And so the session begins.

You walk aimlessly for a minute or two to make sure you are by yourself before you start punching the closest tree for some wood. Your fingers quiver with anticipation, too excited to find out who your soulmate is.

By the time you manage to get yourself some wooden tools and mine out a few cobblestone blocks, your screen brightens with green letters and numbers.

Your soulmate is…

????

Obviously, the game does not tell you who your soulmate is right off the bat. There would be no fun in that. You now simply know that there is a soulmate out there for you. You just have to find and identify them.

You do not waste anymore time and get to work, focusing on getting as much materials as possible so you have some foundation for all the things you will be doing throughout the series. You collect some more wood, make stone tools and a furnace before you move to kill some animals for food.

You make sure to leave at least of each alive so you can come back later with wheat or seeds to collect them for your future farm.

Early in the game you have realised that food will be a fundamental necessity to survive whatever crazy adventures the server prepared for everyone.

Cooking the raw meat, you are hesitant to enter a cave just yet. Obviously, you do not have any materials to make armour or a shield for protection and walking inside a cave by yourself could mean certain death if you are not careful enough.

Normally, that would not bother you as much. However, now you have a person who is dependent on you so you must make sure you take this seriously and be as responsible as possible.

So instead of walking into the dark cave, you collect your furnace and move out of your spot to go find some people who would be willing to go with you into the danger filled with constant jumpscares.

Thankfully, you do not need to search for too long. You find a group of people in record time. You run into Etho, Scar, Bdubs and Impulse on the mountain side. This time you decide to turn on your proximity chat and press the ‘Hello.’ button a few times.

<(Y/Y/N)> What are you guys doing?

Scar is quick to retort. “We want to go mining in this cave, but we are a little bit scared to go.”

<(Y/Y/N)> I wanted to go mining too, but I was too scared to go alone. Mind if I join you guys?

“Feel free to join.” Etho replies.”The more the merrier. You smile at his response.

“Hey, (Y/Y/N), do you have a shield yet?” Impulse question as his in-game character approaches you.

<(Y/Y/N)> Not yet. I haven’t had the chance to mine any iron.

“Well then, you are in the right place!” He runs to the closest crafting table and throws you the freshly crafted shield. “Here you go! I don’t know who my soulmate is yet, but I want you all to be protected.”

<(Y/Y/N)> Thank you, Impulse, that is very kind of you. :)

“No problem.” He seems to beam at your reply. You throw him two pieces of cooked mutton in return.

“Aww, thanks, (Y/Y/N). I appreciate it.” He shifts in front of you happily.

“Hey (Y/Y/N)... Could I possibly have some food as well?” Scar cutely asks and you shake your head in amusement at his antics. You throw him a cooked porkchop. Etho and Bdubs each receive one porkchop as well. They thank you gratefully.

<(Y/Y/N)> I apologise, I don’t have much food yet.

“Don’t sweat it!” Bdubs is quick to respond. “We are grateful that you shared with us at all.” You look at his in-game character and you notice something strange.

<(Y/Y/N)> I apologise if this is rude to ask, but what happened to your face, Bdubs? Are you okay?

He laughs at your question. “Nothing too serious, just a little beat up from last time.” The others move closer to the cave to enter it.

<(Y/Y/N)> I hope you feel better soon.

“Aaw, you are too sweet, (Y/Y/N).” Is Bdubs’s reply.

“Alright, going in now.” Is all Impulse says. He shifts in front of the one block hole the others have made, scanning his surroundings, before Etho pushes him in with a one swift punch. You do not want him to get injured or worse die early in the game by going in by himself so you jump in behind him. You hear Bdubs shout that he just took damage, but you are confident he and the others can handle it if it is anything severe.

<(Y/Y/N)> Right behind you, Impulse.

Impulse runs forward while you stay a little bit behind. You watch him effortlessly kill the two creepers and a skeleton hidden deeper in the cave before another creeper and a zombie fall from somewhere above. You quickly press the ‘Behind you!’ button and you jump into action.

“What-” There is an explosion before Impulse has a chance to react. However he does not take any damage. You protected him with your own shield that killed the zombie in the creeper explosion. The two of you quickly move to finish off the rest while Etho joins you and lights up the cave with some torches.

“Thanks for the save back there.” Impulse says after the intense moment is over.

<(Y/Y/N)> Thank you for the shield. I would not be able to protect you and myself without it. :)

The others join you and you start exploring the cave before you realise that you maybe cannot survive on only one porkchop or a handful of muttons so you retreat back to the surface with the iron and other ores you managed to mine. Etho even managed to get an ender pearl this soon into the game.

As soon as you reach the surface a loud horn echoes in the distance. “Somebody already has a horn?” Impulse questions. “Looks like it.” Etho answers. “Should we follow it?” You play a ‘Yes.’ sound on your soundboard and so the group moves along the surface before you run into an pillager outpost on the other side of a large canyon with a river at the bottom.

Obviously, you all decide to go check it out almost immediately. You are hesitant, but follow your friends anyway. You manage to kill a few pillagers with minimal damage, but soon it gets too overbearing and you are all flooded by a larger number of them than you can handle so you retreat back to a safe distance.

Bdubs and Impulse actually learned during this battle that they are soulmates and you happily congratulate them once you are out of harm’s reach. Apparently, Scar managed to get an allay from it and it was following him around everywhere which you found incredibly cute.

“Listen, hey, listen. Listen, hey!” You were not aware that Bdubs can talk that high. “Hey, I do not sound like Mickey Mouse, Bdubs!” Scar is quick to defend.

“No, no, no!” What is even happening anymore. “I meant the little fairy. What’s it called from Zelda?” And you suddenly understand what Bdubs meant.

<(Y/Y/N)> Do you mean Navi, Bdubs?

“Yeah! That’s the one. They look similar, don’t they?”You and Impulse are quick to agree.

“Okay, sorry, I got a little aggressive there.” Scar apologises and you listen to them talking to each other.

“Sorry, people used to make fun of me for a lot of different reasons, one of them was my voice.” Scar explains. “Don’t worry about it, Scar.” Bdubs reassures.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: I think you have a lovely voice, Scar. You are a wonderful person and I am sorry some people were too blind to see it. :)

“Aaw, thank you, (Y/Y/N). That means a lot to me.” You are happy that you were able to make your friend happy.

“What did she say?” Impulse asks curiously. “That is between (Y/Y/N) and I.”

“You guys are no fun.”

The group moves on some more after that. Just like Etho, Scar decides to part ways with you while you stay with Bdubs and Impulse. The three of you go mining some more and it is going smoothly until you suddenly lose five hearts the moment a skeleton and a pair of zombies jump you.

You press the ‘Help.’ button in panic while you run away to hide behind Impulse who is quick to defend you. He and Bdubs dispose of the danger quickly while you begin to eat the little food you have. You slowly start to gain your hearts but they go down again another three hearts.

“Are you okay, (Y/Y/N)?” Bdubs asks in concern. You press the ‘No.’ button repeatedly.

“Do you need food?” You press the ‘Yes.’ button. They both throw the food they have on you and chomp it down immediately. You can hear your heart rate increase rapidly. Thankfully, the damages stop and your health bar is back to normal soon.

<(Y/Y/N)> I am okay now, thank you.

“That was scary.” Impulse lets out a breath he did not even realise he was holding. You just lost so many hearts but it was not fatal and that is all that really matters.

The three of you leave the dangerous caves after that fiasco.

Bdubs and Impulse decide to settle down by a nice hill. You do not want to disturb them any longer. After all, they are soulmates and you have yet to find your own. And with those thoughts an opportunity appears.

“Heelloooo.” Grian appears from behind the mountain in full iron armour. “What’s up, Grian?” “Heya, buddy!”

<(Y/Y/N)> Hello, Grian. :)

“Hello, everyone. How is everything going?” Grian asks. “Pretty well. Was it you, who was blowing the horn?” Grian holds the goat horn in his hand. “Yep.”

“A quick question, everyone. Did any of you fall off a cliff and take an extortionate amount of damage?” Impulse and Bdubs shake their heads before they turn to you and you just look between them, confused.

You whisper to Grian: I took a lot of damage throughout the session, but mostly not by my own doing.

You whisper to Grian: Impulse and Bdubs are soulmates.

“I see, I see.” Grian hums thoughtfully. “You know, the more time that goes on the more I am convinced that I am partnered with Timmy or Scar, because I keep taking big chunks of damage.” You all cannot help but laugh at the statement.

You whisper to Grian: I think I might be in a similar situation. My health bar has been all over the place thanks to my partner.

Grian snorts at your words. “Well, I am gonna continue my search now.”

You whisper to Grian: Could I possibly join you on your search, Grian?

“Of course, I would not mind the company.” You send him a smiling emoji in return.

<(Y/Y/N)> Thank you for your company, Bdubs, Impulse, but I must continue my search now .

“Of course, have fun you two!” You say your goodbyes and part ways. You now continue your search by Grian’s side.

“How have you been doing so far, (Y/Y/N)?” Grian lets the conversation flow. You stop for a second to reply.

You whisper to Grian: Rather stressful. My soulmate is trying to kill me. Otherwise, I’ve been having fun. How about you?

Grian laughs once more. You like making your friends laugh and smile. It makes you smile too. It means you are doing something right.

“Also very stressful. But at least I got a horn out of it.” You smile, amused. “I would offer you one too, but I’ve already given all of the spare ones away.”

You whisper to Grian: That’s okay, thank you though.

“Anyway, who do you think is more likely to be your soulmate between Scar and Timmy?” You think about it for a second as you keep running next to your friend through the jungle biome. You have run into Scar in the beginning and you did not take much damage when you were all conquering the pillager outpost. But on the other hand, you were not paying that much attention either since you were trying to survive.

You whisper to Grian: I think Jimmy. I’ve already seen Scar and I do not remember taking damage when he did.

“Oh noooo… That probably means that Scar really is my soulmate.” Grian whines jokingly, a little bit defeated.

You whisper to Grian: We can always lock them away in obsidian or something so they do not get hurt.

Grian snorts in surprise at the suggestion. “Oh that is terrible.” He says between the laughter. “Or actually- you might be onto something.” He adds with mischief evident in his voice.

You whisper to Grian: >:D

The two of you soon arrive back to the canyon by the pillager out post and make your way over the unstable bridge. Grian mentioned he wanted to get some more food given how reckless his soulmate has been the entire time and you absolutely agree. The two of you dive under the water in the canyon and spend the next ten minutes collecting as much salmon as possible.

Soon new people arrive. You notice the voices in the distance.

You whisper to Grian: I think somebody might be here, Grian.

“Oh really?” Grian looks around and plays his horn and soon enough Etho and Joel arrive at the scene and join you in on the fishing.

“Have you guys found your soulmates yet?” Joel asks. “Not yet, whoever I am with is desperately trying to get me killed.” Grian explains and you press the ‘No.’ button.

“So you guys aren’t soulmates?” Etho questions.

“Unfortunately, no. It’s a pity, (Y/Y/N) is one of the few reasonable and not completely insane people here.” He then stops himself. “I mean we haven’t tried, but it is very unlikely with how much damage we’ve been taking.”

Etho then proceeds to hit you one or two times, but nothing happens. You are a little disappointed that Grian is not your soulmate. He is really fun to be around.

“Wait, you guys have been taking a lot of damage?” Joel pipes in. “That sounds kinda like Scar or Jimmy to me.”

“We thought the same thing.” And you nod in agreement.

“Well, good luck with that, you two.”

<(Y/Y/N)> Thank you. I was wondering, are you two soulmates?

“Yes, we are actually.” Joel chirps happily and Etho agrees. “Good for you, guys.” Grian congratulates.

“Hello?” Scar’s voice appears in the distance and soon you notice him coming down the mountain to join your little group of four in the water. You don’t miss the way Grian takes damage when Scar irresponsibly jumps down. You give Grian a knowing look and he looks back at you and sighs.

You whisper to Grian: Good luck, my friend.

Grian whispers to you: thanks

“Scar, a question. Have you been taking big chunks of damage in one go?” Grian knowingly asks his friend. And Joel swoops in to hit Scar. Grian takes damage too. Scar goes on to chase the little allay while Grian freezes in one spot. “Scar?”

“Come here, little buddy!”

“Scar, I think we’re soulmates, but you are too busy chasing fairies!” You giggle at his phrasing.

Etho hits Scar again and Grian takes damage again. Grian then proceeded to very loudly scream ‘Noooo!’ and Joel and Etho erupt into laughter. You just sit back and let the situation in front you unfold, giggling along with the others.

Now that it has been confirmed that Grian and Scar are soulmates it is 99,9% certain that Jimmy is indeed your soulmate.

“I don’t think he figured it out yet. Let’s keep it a secret for now.” The others agree and you nod your head in-game.

You are about to write something in the chat, but you suddenly explode on the spot.

The ‘You died!’ screen appears in front of you and all you can do is sit there in shock for a minute.

You click the respawn button and appear all the way back on spawn.

You quickly open the chat to see what happened.

SolidarityGaming fell off a high place.

(Y/Y/N) died.

<Grian> oh no

<Smallishbeans> lol

<Grian> (Y/Y/N), you just exploded right next to us

<InTheLittleWood> that’s gonna be so awkward at spawn LOL

<(Y/Y/N)> Could you pick up my stuff and put it in a chest before it despawns, please?

<Etho> sure

<Grian> on it

<(Y/Y/N)> Thank you.

Grian whispers to you: we put everything in a chest by the water

You whisper to Grian: Thank you, I will get it in a minute. First, I need to have a talk.

Grian whispers to you: understandable, good luck with that

You whisper to Grian: Thank you, you too.

You whisper to Grian: I suppose we will have to put our soulmates into obsidian after all. :D

Grian whispers to you: hahaha probably

You close the chat and turn around. Jimmy is running towards you. “I’m so so sorry, (Y/Y/N).”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: It’s okay, Jimmy. It happens. Let’s get our stuff first and then we can talk. Is that okay?

He seems to want to talk right now about what happened, but he realises that if we talk now his things will most likely despawn. “Okay…”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: We can meet up back here once we collected our belongings.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Please, be careful.

You are hesitant to leave him alone after what just happened, but you let those doubts leave you. You trust your soulmate. This was surely just an accident and he already feels bad about it. You do not want to make him feel worse by walking behind him like a guard.

Jimmy only hums before the two of you part ways to retrieve your lost materials. You find yours with ease, having remembered the coordinates and surroundings. You make it to the pillager outpost in record time, thankful that it was day and not night.

You collect your belongings  and put your armour back on. Fortunately, everything survived. You thank Grian, Etho and Joel once more in the chat separately and make your way back to the spawn.

Jimmy is not there yet, so you decide to do something productive while you wait for him. You collect some wood, saplings and some colourful flowers.

The man in question arrives minutes later. But you notice something. He is not wearing any armour.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Welcome back, Jimmy. Where is your armour? Do you not have any? I can share mine if you want.

He is awfully quiet.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Are you okay?

“I’m really sorry. I was being so stupid and I died because of it and now we are both yellow.” He starts rambling, all panicky. “And now all my stuff despawned before I even had a chance to make it there. I'm sorry. I am so sorry.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: It’s okay, Jimmy. I am not upset. I am just happy you are okay.

However, he does not seem to react to your words. Maybe he did not see them. You try again.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Jimmy, it’s okay.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Jimmy, it’s okay.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Jimmy, it’s okay.

But still nothing happens. No reaction. Only more rambling. You decided to pull out the big guns. You quickly change one of the soundboard sounds to the word ‘Jimmy.’ and once it is set you press the button several times. And it works. Jimmy finally notices your messages and quiets down.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Jimmy, truly, it’s okay. I am not upset. And I don’t want you to be sad over this. If anything, I am happy I finally found my soulmate. Yes, maybe it did not happen the way I imagined but when do things ever do.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: The most important thing is that my soulmate is finally here with me. :)

“But-but I just made this so much harder for us. I was being stupid and now we are yellow.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Jimmy, I do not care if my name is green, yellow or red. All that matters is that my soulmate is finally here with me. :)

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: So do not beat yourself up over this, okay?

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: You are an incredible person and I can’t wait to spend this series with you. :)

“(Y/Y/N), you are far too nice, you know that?” Jimmy seemed to have calmed down a little bit once he saw your words of reassurance. “I am happy we are soulmates too.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Good. And here.

You throw him your chest plate and boots as well as your iron sword and some baked salmon you caught in the river. “Thanks, but are you sure? Now you won’t be as protected.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: I am sure. Maybe I won’t be as protected from arrows and creeper explosions, but I have my soulmate now who will have my back and I will have his.

You open your inventory to see what stuff you can work with in these difficult times. You notice some spare iron. You use it to make Jimmy some pants and a pickaxe and yourself a pair of both.

“What do we do now? We should probably get some stuff.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: I agree. We will need a lot of things. But first, I think we should find a place where we can store it.

“Oh, I know a nice place! I found it when I was walking around the server.” Jimmy announces.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Lead the way, Jimmy. :)

The two of you travel for a few minutes, maybe five or ten, before you reach your destination. The place Jimmy was talking about is located on the opposite side of the canyon a safe distance away from the pillager outpost on the other side. You look around for a few moments. The place is surrounded by trees, but it is nice and flat, giving you a lot of space to build on once the trees are cut down.

You set up a little camp with a crafting table, furnace and a double chest where you throw the items you do not need at the moment. You put some raw meat into the furnace as well and let it cook.

“So, what do we do now?” Jimmy starts up a conversation.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: What would you like to do, Jimmy?

“Well, there are a lot of animals around, so maybe we get some before the others manage to kill them all.” The blond man says and you agree whole-heartedly. For some reason, everyone is especially blood thirsty on the Life servers. It is best you snatch up some animals before they are all gone.

“It would be nice to have a house as well, but I am not much of a builder so…” His words drift off.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: I can build us a house. :D

Building a nice house would not be a problem for you at all. After all, you are one of the people actively participating in building and improving the MCC server and the games. That is actually how you and Scott met.

“Great! And I can get us some animals. And other stuff…”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Okay. :)

You throw him your iron pickaxe and shovel, so now you are only left with your iron axe while Jimmy has the other three. “Oh-! Um-... Are you sure, (Y/Y/N)?”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: What do you mean, Jimmy?

“What if I die again? I don’t want to lose more stuff.” He confesses.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: I am not too worried. You are very capable, Jimmy. That was just an accident.

“Thanks.” He seems a bit more joyful. “I’ll do my best.”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: See you in a bit.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: If you need any help, don’t be afraid to let me know. I am here for you, soulmate. :)

“Thank you.” He smiles and you throw some more food his way for the journey. “Same goes to you, soulmate!” And he is off right after. You watch disappear in the distance before you turn to your own task. You get to work immediately.

You spend the next ten minutes collecting wood, stone, seeds, some flowers and other materials you find essential or useful for the build. You set up a small wheat farm to get started on a little bit of food other than animal meat.

Once that is done, you focus on building a nice cosy house, putting stone as foundation and building up with different types of wood and stripping it with your axe. You take your time with it, looking at it from different angles so it is as beautiful as possible. You run out of material at the end, leaving a part of the roof unprotected. You use this as a chance for a small break.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Almost finished with the house. How are things going with you?

SolidarityGaming whispers to you: nice! :D

SolidarityGaming whispers to you: still collecting materials. But I’ll be going back soon.

You whisper to Solidarity gaming: Okay. Do you need me to prepare a pen for any animals?

SolidarityGaming whispers to you: yes, please. i saw some cows earlier that I want to bring back

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Okay. Will do. :)

You collect some more wood to finish off the roof and the rest for the fence and fence gate to make a small space for the animals. You plan to make it bigger and prettier later on, but for now this is more than enough.

Something else catches your eye in the distance. Some other buildings appeared there. It seems like you and Jimmy have some neighbours just around the corner. Having nothing else to do you decide to see what they are up to.

As you walk closer you recognise Scott and Cleo’s minecraft skins. You press the ‘Hello.’ button to let them know of your arrival.

“Oh, hello, (Y/Y/N). How are things going? The first death must have been rough.” Scott greets you, his accent as prominent as ever. Cleo says hi as well but she moves on to continue working on her home right after.

You whisper to Smajor1995: Hello, Scott. Things are going well. Jimmy and I had a rough start, yes, but we managed to work it out.

You whisper to Smajor1995: How are things going with you? Are you and Cleo soulmates?

“Well, it’s a bit complicated. We are soulmates, but we are not soul-bound.” Scott explains and you nod your head. You think you understand. You look around his place and you have to smile. Scott always had a knack for building cute and cosy builds.

You whisper to Smajor1995: Your base is looking very nice, Scott.

You also notice a small patch of bamboo growing behind his house. “Thank you, (Y/Y/N). It’s not exactly what I wanted, but I can always make it look better, later.” You turn back to Scott.

You whisper to Smajor1995: Would it be alright if I took some bamboo, Scott? I heard there are pandas and I wanted to have a few by my base.

“Sure, you can have some.” He turns around, punches a bamboo or two and throws you the pieces he collected. “See, Scar? That’s how you do it! You just have to ask nicely!” You are confused by Scott’s outbreak before you follow his gaze and notice the man in question crouching in the distance.

“I found them first! You stole them from me, you bamboo-nappers!” You receive a distant shout from Scar and you giggle at their antics.

SolidarityGaming: almost home. got some materials. and im also bring the cows.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Okay, on my way back now too.

As much as you would love to chit-chat a bit longer, your soulmate is still your priority so you say your goodbyes to Scott and Cleo and start making your way back to the house you build.

“Psst.” You stop in your tracks, confused by the sound. “Psst.” It sounds kind of like a creeper, but you know it is not. You turn around and come face to face with the one and only GoodTimesWithScar. You jump back, surprised and Scar laughs loudly at your reaction. You cannot help but rest your hand on your heart in real life.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: You scared me, Scar.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar:: :(

“Sorry.” He apologises between the laughter. “I am sorry. That was just too funny.” You wait until his giggles subside.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: Are you here for the bamboo I just got from Scott, Scar?

“Nooo, no, maybe…” You give him an unimpressed look in-game which is hard to do with a character that cannot change expressions, but somehow it works. “Yes… I just- I just want something nice for the Jellies and they will starve if I won’t get them bamboo! Since somebody stole them all…” You shake your head at his dramatic antics, intentionally ignoring the last part.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: That would be terrible, we do not want the Jellies to starve.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: You can have half of the bamboo I got.

And as you wrote you did. You throw half of the bamboo from your inventory for Scar to pick up and he happily jumps around you. “Oh, this is great, this is great!” He announces in a singing voice. “You, my dear (Y/Y/N), have just earned a life long free-of-charge entrance to the Jellie-Panda Resort!”

Before you even have the chance to ask him what that exactly is he is already running away into the opposite direction. “Thank you very much, (Y/Y/N), and buh-bye!” But even if you find yourself confused, you do not mind because your friend is happy.

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: Okay? Bye?..

You whisper to GoodTimesWithScar: :)

When you finally return back home, Jimmy is already there and the cows he mentioned are stationed inside the pen you built. You also notice a singular sheep standing there alongside the cows.

You whisper toSolidarityGaming: I am sorry for taking so long, Jimmy. But I got us some bamboo in case we want to have pandas as well.

You throw the blond the bamboo you managed to acquire and he picks it up. “Nice! And no worries. I didn’t wait too long. I also brought some things.”

He throws you three chicken eggs.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: :o

“I know, right? If we are lucky, we could have chickens too!” You nod your character’s head excitedly.

“By the way, the house is looking incredible!” You beam at the praise and quickly write ‘thank you’ in the chat. You spent a minute or two showing Jimmy around before you two decidedly make a small room underneath the house for the chickens to stay for the time being. You decide in your head to decorate it for them later.

You throw the eggs back to Jimmy and nudge him to try how lucky we are. “One.” He throws the first egg, but nothing happens. “Two.” He sounds more nervous now. The egg breaks but no chicken appears. “Three!” And just like that a small chick slowly falls into the hole the two of you just made.

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: Nicely done, Jimmy. :)

“You know, with how many animals we have managed to gather we are kinda turning into a zoo, or a farm or… a ranch!”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: A ranch? I like that. :)

“We should totally build a ranch and collect as many animals as possible.” Jimmy announces joyfully. “We’ll be like the ranchers or something!”

You whisper to SolidarityGaming: I like the sound of that. :)

Unfortunately, you do not have the chance to plan any further because Grian announces the end of the session. You say your goodbye to your friends and head to your kitchen to make yourself a small snack, already thinking about all the fun things you could do next time with your newly found soulmate. But that will have to wait for later, because you are hungry.
