Jealous?!

Summary:

Pete wasn’t even thinking - he was trying to remain calm, but reality was that he was just as possessive of Vegas as Vegas was of him. But that wasn’t even the point of it all. He just really disliked that idiot. So, before the guy managed to lay his hand on Vegas, Pete leaned over and he wrapped his fingers around his wrist and yanked his hand away.

Vegas’ eyes widened and he finally understood why Pete was in such a bad mood. Pete was jealous, wasn’t he? Vegas glanced at him and he tried his best to hide the huge grin of satisfaction. It made him stupidly happy to see Pete being jealous and possessive of him.

“Leave,” growled Pete, staring at the guy...

[For once, Pete gets jealous and Vegas loves every bit of it.]

Work Text:

Pete huffed under his breath when he was watching Vegas over at the bar, waiting for the bartender to mix their drinks, so that he would come back over to Pete with a new round of drinks, but Pete wasn’t in the mood, keeping his eyes on the guy that Vegas was talking to. Pete didn’t like how close he was standing to Vegas, nor the little touches that he would make, laughing at everything that Vegas said. Pete didn’t know what the two of them were talking about, but also - it didn’t matter, he didn’t care.

It wasn’t really out of the ordinary that people were all over Vegas when Pete and he would go out and usually it didn’t bother Pete. He knew Vegas had his eyes only for him, but none of the people were this handsy with Vegas and Pete didn’t like it. What was worse was that Vegas was only standing there, keeping up the conversation and Pete’s eyes darkened when the man leaned closer and whispered something into Vegas’ ear.

Vegas rolled his eyes and walked away.

Finally.

Pete cleared his throat and put on his smile, trying to keep it up when Vegas was back with the drinks and he hummed along. Pete’s eyes travelled over to the side and he could still see the man keeping his eyes on Vegas like a hawk, but for the time being Pete decided to ignore him. It wasn’t like he  was jealous, Pete didn’t get jealous. The smile was back and he reached out with his hand, taking his drink when Vegas handed it to him.

“Here you go, I ordered something extra sweet for you,” said Vegas with a wink and Pete felt his cheeks reddening a bit as he made the sip of the drink. Not only sweet, but strong as well. Pete cleared his throat and then he nodded. “You don’t like it?” asked Vegas when he saw Pete making a face and Pete quickly shook his head.

“No, it’s good,” said Pete. “Just strong,” said Pete and Vegas grinned.

“Mn, I know,” said Vegas, made a sip of his own drink as well and he placed his hand on top of Pete’s, who quickly turned his hand around and linked their fingers together, his eyes looking over to the side, again observing the man, who was looking at Vegas and he gritted his teeth. Pete tried his best to keep up the smile, but he was getting kind of annoyed.

How longer was the idiot going to keep on staring at Vegas?

Wasn’t it obvious that they were together?

It didn’t seem to bother the other one.

Vegas could tell that Pete was distracted, so he knitted his eyebrows together. There was a smile on Pete’s lips, but Vegas could see straight through it and he cocked his head to the side, leaning a little bit closer because he couldn’t understand why Pete looked annoyed.

“Pete, what’s wrong?” asked Vegas and those words worked like cold shower on Pete, who quickly looked back to Vegas and he laughed dryly.

“Wrong? Nothing’s wrong,” said Pete.

“You keep looking around,” said Vegas, scanning the bar. “Looking for someone?”

“Nope,” said Pete happily.

“Hmm.”

“I’m fine, I’m fine,” said Pete, his voice softer that time when he looked into Vegas’ eyes and he huffed.

Pete claimed that, but Vegas didn’t buy it. He could see the look in Pete’s eyes - he was quietly fuming with anger and annoyance, but Vegas couldn’t figure it out why. He didn’t remember pissing Pete off. He seemed fine before he went to get the drinks. Vegas rubbed the back of his neck. Feeling lost, Vegas glanced down and then he looked back up at Pete.

“Should I get you a new drink?” asked Vegas.

“No, no, no,” said Pete quickly, his smile widening and then he shook his head. “Forget about it, I’m just… it’s fine,” said Pete and Vegas decided to let it go. At least for now.

What was even worse was that the guy that was after Vegas was now staring at Pete. His eyes were laughing at him because he could tell just how easily provoked Pete was and he didn’t like it. He didn’t like knowing that he was losing his cool. He wasn’t the one to get jealous, he wasn’t-

Pete forced himself not to think about it. Instead, he focused on the date with Vegas. It was only the two of them. In the bar. Sharing a couple of nice drinks. It was a lovely evening.

As time passed, Pete managed to almost forget about the guy that was after Vegas, thinking that he already left, but he was wrong. After a trip to the restroom, Pete was back and much to his horror, there on his seat, the guy from before was sitting, chatting up with Vegas, who wasn’t really too keen on keeping up with the conversation.

Pete’s annoyance was back and it was even worse that time around. The guy was sitting on his chair and talking to his boyfriend… leaning closer to Vegas, who wore a frown upon his face. Pete’s anger sky-rocketted and he took a deep breath, clasping his hands together. He didn’t want to lose his cool, not in front of Vegas. He was the calm one, he was-

So. Freaking. Pissed. Off.

He wasn’t jealous. Pete refused to admit it.

Pete ran fingers through his hair, took a deep breath and he quickly forced the smile onto his face. Face every problem with a smile… right?

Pete slowly walked over to Vegas and the man. Vegas was pretty much completely uninterested, but his smile was back when he saw Pete walking back. Pete tried his best to ignore his anger, his lips twitching when he saw the man reaching for Vegas’ hand, but he didn’t get to touch him that time as Vegas withdrew his hand pretty much immediately.

“Who’s that?” asked Pete, trying not to sound so annoyed, but he couldn’t help it. His voice came out sharp and cold. Vegas’ eyes widened when he heard Pete and he narrowed his eyes. Then, Pete smiled and glanced at the guy, trying to sound polite. “It’s just that… I was sitting there, you see,” said Pete and smiled, his glare to the guy translating as get the fuck away from Vegas, take one step back, then another… and keep on walking until you’re far away and never come back.

The guy smiled and he tipped his chin back.

“My name’s Pat,” said the guy and Pete glanced at him.

Literally who asked?

“Pete,” mumbled Pete and then he glanced at Vegas, who was not in the mood to be dealing with the one sitting next to him. “Vegas?” asked Pete and Vegas glanced up at Pete, arching his brow. “You two know each other?’ asked Pete, trying to sound laid back, pretending that he was only asking a question.

But Vegas could tell - Pete was annoyed.

“Unfortunately,” said Vegas and rolled his eyes. “I told you to fuck off - I’m here on a date,” grumbled Vegas and kicked the man underneath the table. Pete blinked a few times and he tensed up when he heard the man laughing, but he eventually stood up, walking over to Pete, leaning closer, his eyes flickering up and down.

Pete shuddered and he quickly sat down onto his chair, but the other still wasn’t leaving.

“Mind if I join you two?” asked Pat and Pete glared up at him.

“Yes, go away,” said Vegas and groaned when the other one brought himself an empty chair and sat down next to him. Pete tried really hard to keep up the smile, fuming on the inside.  “Pete, do you wanna go somewhere else? Once he starts, he won’t quit,” said Vegas. He didn’t want to make a scene, so leaving quietly was their best bet.

Huh - so Vegas knew Pat well?

Pete’s eyes fell upon the man and then he shook his head.

“It’s fine, I don’t mind,” said Pete, obviously lying. “I don’t mind meeting your friends, Vegas.”

“Oh, we were a little bit closer than that, weren’t we, Vegas?” asked Pat and Pete’s blood pressure rose up again.

“Were we?” asked Vegas and glanced at him. “Don’t flatter yourself. Those few nights didn’t mean much to me,” said Vegas and Pat laughed, shaking his head.

“But you can’t deny all the fun that we had together,” said Pat and leaned closer to Vegas, attempting to place his hand upon Vegas. That time around, however, Pete stopped him.

Pete wasn’t even thinking - he was trying to remain calm, but reality was that he was just as possessive of Vegas as Vegas was of him. But that wasn’t even the point of it all. He just really disliked that idiot. There were people before him, Pete knew that and he was fine with it. He was just pissed off with that individual. So, before Pat managed to lay his hand on Vegas, Pete leaned over and he wrapped his fingers around his wrist and yanked his hand away.

Vegas’ eyes widened when he saw Pete yanking Pat’s hand away and he finally understood why Pete was in such a bad mood. Pete was jealous, wasn’t he? Vegas glanced at him and he tried his best to hide the huge grin of satisfaction. It made him stupidly happy to see Pete being jealous and possessive of him. Pete didn’t really show that side of himself much, so it was nice to see.

“Oh, you’ve got yourself a feisty one, huh?” asked Pat and quickly removed his hand because he understood the message and he grinned. “And not so bad on the eyes at all,” said Pat. Pete narrowed his eyes and wrinkled his nose when he saw the change in the attitude when Pat started hitting on him as well.

“Leave,” said Pete, his voice low and he didn’t even bother trying to pretend that he was doing fine.

“You sure? The three of us could have so much fun,” said Pat and grinned.

Vegas glared at him now as well and he rolled his eyes.

"I told you to fuck off," growled Vegas, getting more agitated as well.

“I used to be the head bodyguard - I won’t repeat myself,” said Pete. “Leave if you know what’s good for you,” said Pete, keeping his eyes on the man, who rolled his eyes and he clicked with his tongue.

Vegas shuddered when he saw the look in Pete’s eyes, the sound of his voice was dangerously low… It excited him.  And before Pete was trying so hard to keep on smiling, to pretend that he was not jealous - it was kind of adorable. Vegas pressed his lips together, still holding back his smile.

“He’s no fun, Vegas,” said Pat and stood up.

“Bye,” said Vegas, not even looking at Pat, who rolled his eyes again and finally left.

Once left alone, Pete’s eyes widened when he was slowly starting to understand what had just happened. His plan of trying to act cool didn’t work as well. He totally made a scene. Pete’s cheeks heated up as he  was slowly sliding  down his chair. He was looking down, but he could feel Vegas’ eyes on him and he cleared his throat. Vegas was going to say something, he was going to make a stupid comment or something, Pete already knew that Vegas was never going to let him forget this!

Vegas eyed Pete, who was trying to make himself look invisible and he laughed softly, leaning back against his chair as his smirk widened. Vegas leaned against the table, supporting himself against his elbow and his smile continued to grow, leaning his head a bit lower so that he could have a better look at the expression that Pete was making at the time being and he snickered again.

Pete flinched when he heard that satisfied snickering and he swallowed thickly.

Vegas found it cute how Pete completely lost his cool before with Pat and he leaned back against the chair, crossed his legs and he shook his head.

“Do you know how adorable you are when you get jealous?” asked Vegas in English, a sly smirk upon his face as he asked that.

Pete glanced at him and then he pressed his lips together, feeling his heartbeat getting much faster and he eyed Vegas, who looked way too pleased with himself right now. Pete frowned and then he crossed his  arms on top of his chest.

“I wasn’t-” started Pete, but his voice trailed off as he knew that it was kind of pointless to argue at that point.

“Really?” asked Vegas, switching back to Thai, and then he chuckled when he could tell that Pete was struggling with coming up with a good excuse, but no matter how much he tried to come up with an excuse, there was just nothing. Pete’s mind was blank, his face was on fire with embarrassment and he finally looked over to Vegas and then he narrowed his eyes.

“I just didn’t like that guy,” said Pete and Vegas chuckled.

“Yeah. I could tell,” said Vegas in amusement. “But,” said Vegas, his smile slowly faltering a little bit as he leaned closer to Pete, who was still fighting back his embarrassment. He was still trying to deny his jealousy, biting on his lower lip. “You really shouldn’t be jealous of him,” he said, shaking his head. “He’s nothing compared to you,” he said.

Pete felt his heart jumping when he heard Vegas say that. It was stupid how happy that made him, but it was true - he couldn’t deny it. He took a deep breath in and then he licked across his lower lip. Vegas could see that there was a little, tiny, but growing smile upon Pete’s face, which meant that he clearly liked being told that.

How much he meant to Vegas.

“Everyone’s nothing compared to you,” said Vegas and Pete’s grin was gowing. “No one could compare to you, ever,” he said and then he chuckled when he saw how bright Pete’s smile was. Unlike before, when Pete was trying to force the smile, this one was a genuine smile.

A smile that Vegas loved so much.

“Really?” caught himself asking Pete and Vegas snorted.

“You’re fucking perfect, Pete,” said Vegas, again speaking in English and Pete’s eyes shyly looked over to him. Vegas loved stroking Pete’s ego, because it was what Pete deserved - he deserved being told just how freaking perfect he was. Vegas had his eyes only for Pete, there was no one else.

Ever.

Pete’s cheeks were burning again, but with a different reason then. He was happy and embarrassed that he got jealous. He knew that Vegas loved him and that he would never-

“Ah,”  said Pete and pressed his cold hands against his hot cheeks. “Sorry about before, it was stupid of me to get… yeah, jealous,” said Pete, rolling his eyes. “I don’t know what came over me, it was just-’’

“Don’t apologise,” said Vegas and leaned closer to Pete, holding his chin. Pete licked across his lips, keeping his eyes on Vegas. “I liked that… you, getting jealous,” he said and smiled broadly. “People should know to whom I belong to,” said Vegas and Pete felt shivers of excitement going up his spine when Vegas pulled his face closer, their lips touching for a split second.

“I, um-”

“Hmm?” crooned Vegas against his lips and Pete shook his head.

Instead of giving Vegas a verbal answer, Pete held Vegas’ face and pulled him in for a kiss, Vegas’ eyebrows knitting together when Pete suddenly went in for a kiss, but he was more than happy to kiss Pete back.

With the corner of his eye, Pete glanced over to the side, his eyes dark as he hungrily kissed Vegas while staring at Pat, who was now rolling his eyes again. A little smirk spread across Pete’s lips as they parted for a split second before Vegas kissed him again and Pete gasped, pulling Vegas closer and their lips met together again.

Perhaps… It wasn't so bad being just a little bit jealous every now and then.
