Work Text:
Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain,
kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain.
Cuz I see sparks fly whenever you smile.
“C’mon!” Grabbing your hand, Xyx and you ran into the pouring rain without so much as a second thought. You two just went out for dinner, forgetting to check the weather forecast (and to bring an umbrella). The restaurant was only a few blocks away, so you two chose to walk instead of taking his bike. You two chatted about whatever you could think of over dinner: Blooming Panic, tongue-twisters, Xyx spoiling Cat too much. It was to the point you two accidentally stayed at the restaurant until it closed; time sure flies when you have fun. As you two were about to exit the restaurant, raindrops fell like bullets. Xyx wasn’t planning on staying overnight at the restaurant neither were you. He takes off his suit jacket and wraps it around your shoulders before you both take each other's hand and ran into the rain. The streets weren’t crowded at this time, and the only sources of light were the street lamps and the lights from the still-open stores. The two of you laughed like kids in love on the way home. “Wait! Before we get home,” he stops his tracks and turns to you. His hair, which was perfectly styled during the dinner date, was now all wet, messy, and falling on his face. His white dress shirt, sticking onto his skin, becoming a little translucent. The heat from the growing blush on your face contrasts with the cold touch of the rain on your skin. “Yeah?” you ask, still holding his hand with one hand and keeping his jacket around you with the other. He walks up to you, placing his hands on your waist, pulling you into him.
“Mind if I kiss you in the rain, doll?”
He whispers, his warm breath tickling your cold lips. You smile and lean in before he could even react, pressing your lips upon his. His body tenses for a second, taken aback by your sudden response before chuckling and smiling into the kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist, pulling you closer. You two pull away from the kiss to catch your breaths, smiling and giggling at what just happened. It felt like it was ripped right out of some cheesy romance movie. You were lost in his fearless forest green eyes as he was lost in yours. You could’ve sworn you could see sparks in those eyes of his as he smiled at you. “Wow,” you trail off, Xyx still holding you close and your arms still wrapped around his shoulders. “Yeah…wow…,” Xyx sighs, still in shock. “I…god, I love you so much, doll,” he chuckles happily. You couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was. “I love you too, Xyx,” you say, before giving him a peck on the lips. He smiles and takes your hand.
“Let’s go home now, shall we?”
