Work Text:
In the beginning Taehyung is ~15 and Jungkook is ~6
The sky is grey and it has been raining for hours. Taehyung looks over the counter to watch the people on the street passing the café he's working in. It was only around 4pm but it was already quite dark outside. A typical autumn day.
HYBE, the café he works in, wasn't particularly busy right now. He stands behind the counter and just waits for the next customer, staring outside and observing the people in the room. The guests were spread throughout the café, busy talking with each other.
Since he didn't have anything to do at the moment, he prepared a drink for himself. The Lemonade was the signature beverage of the café as well as his personal favorite. While preparing the drink he heard the entrance door open. He was about to greet the person coming in when he saw that it was a little kid with brown hair who entered.
The boy looked completely lost and wore sordid clothes. His whole appearance was a thorn in the eye for the clean freak. The child was drenched and stayed close to the entrance window. It seemed like he didn't want to bother the café and just looked for a place to stay dry. He didn't even look in Taehyung's direction and only stared outside. Taehyung wondered if he should do something, but he just left him like that and finished preparing his beverage. As he was about to drink it, he heard the boy sneeze. It's cold near the entrance door after all.
Taehyung didn't want to scream all over the café and slowly walked toward the smaller, slightly bowing forward.
"Hey, uhm-" The boy turned around instantly and cowered. He was visibly startled, if not frightened. Taehyung knew he wasn't the brightest sunshine, but he was also just a normal 15-year-old, trying to get by. Before Taehyung could continue the boy spoke up.
"Please, let me stay inside here! I've been thrown out all the other shops, but I swear I just stand near the door and won't bother anyone! I just don't want to get wet."
"I was actually planning on asking you to come a little more inside. It's really cold near the door and you're soaking wet. At this rate you will only get sick. There are many empty tables so just wait there until the rain stops." Taehyung smiled warmly at the boy. The younger seemed to loosen up while he spoke. His eyes grew wide at the invitation. "If you know your parent's number, I can also call them to pick you up."
"I don't know the number, I don't think my parents own a telephone. It's too expensive." This made Taehyung take a closer look at the boy. From afar he could already see that the boy wore old, dirty and sordid clothes. But from this near he could see the holes in the clothes as well, the oily and uneven cut hair and an overall damp smell. The thin beige jacket and ripped jeans surely not keeping him warm properly. He now understood why other shops would have thrown him out. He doesn't look inviting and deters customers.
However, the glassy teal-colored eyes didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung either. The young boy had big and sparkling eyes. They were beautiful, just like the boy himself. Taehyung pitied him though. An elementary school kid, shouldn't run around like this.
"No problem. Just take a seat on the other side and get warm. The shop closes in around 2 hours so you have plenty of time." He continues and wanted to show him the way. Just then the boy's stomach was loudly growling.
"You hungry?" Taehyung asked the obvious. "What do you want to eat? We have cake and sandwiches."
"I can't, I don't have any money...." His head hung low.
"Just pay me when you are rich." He chuckled at his own words. He wasn't rich himself, but he figured he could buy the little guy something to eat and a drink as well. The boy obviously was struggling with money and probably didn't get to eat at cafés or anything.
"Really?" the boy asked with a wide smile. "But what if I don't become rich?" he asked worriedly. Taehyung found that cute.
"Then it's also okay, don't worry." Taehyung patted his shoulder. The boy was skinny.
"Thank you very much, mister uh...." The young boy looked at Taehyung's name tag, but couldn't read the letters. "What does it say? What do I call you mister?" he pointed with his finder at the name tag. Taehyung tapped his chin a few times, staring into the air. This was his once in a life time chance think of a cool name for himself. Something like captain.
"Just call me Taehyung."
"Okay mister Daehong! Thank you! My name's Jungkook." he cheered, while mispronouncing Taehyung's name completely. But Taehyung didn't say anything. Jungkook followed Taehyung towards the counter to show him the different foods. The younger went for a piece of strawberry cake and sat on a table not too far away from the counter and near the heater. Taehyung brought him the cake together with the Lemonade he made for himself earlier. Taehyung had to pay for food and beverages himself even though he was working there. Since he didn't have that much money, he couldn't afford making another drink, so he couldn't let Jungkook chose his drink as well. Hopefully he would like it though.
"Here you go. Enjoy the cake. I also brought you something to drink. It's a lemonade, my favorite. Hopefully you like it." He placed everything in front of Jungkook and waited until he tries everything before leaving again.
"The cake tastes yummy!" next he took a sip from the lemonade and grimaced. "it's sour!" Taehyung's face sank at that reaction. The younger obviously didn't like it very much.
"If you don't like it, you can just leave it. You don't have to drink it." He said sympathetic /understandingly.
"No! Mister Daehong bought it for me so I will drink it!" He sounded so enthusiastic it made the older giggle.
"Alright then, I will be at the counter if you need anything. Just leave everything on the table once you finish and leave. I will take care of the rest." Taehyung gave him one final smile and continued working.
Taehyung was busy with other customers and it didn't take long for Jungkook to finish the cake and he could see that he was more or less reluctantly forcing himself to drink the Lemonade. Shortly after, it stopped raining and Jungkook's clothes seemed to have dried as well.
Just when Taehyung said goodbye to some customers, Jungkook suddenly stood in front of his counter, ready to leave.
"Thank you again mister. I promise I will come back when I am rich!" his eyes sparkled as if he knew he would become rich one day. Taehyung used to be hopeful like this as well, but then he became older and learned that life isn't all that easy.
"Then I will wait here until then." He nodded his head and smiled. As if that is going to happen anyway.
Jungkook walked away waving to the older and Taehyung waved back, not expecting to see the poor boy ever again. It was just a good deed he did and he would continue his life normally after today.
-14 years later-
Taehyung straightened his tie one last time before entering Jeon's Cooperation for his job interview. The building was huge and extravagant. Anyone would have great respect just standing in front of the 16-story high building. Taehyung had many job interviews before already, but going to the country's most successful and popular company made even him nervous.
Taehyung tried his luck with this company in hopes of a better salary. He works as an accountant in his current company, but there he had no opportunity for advancement.
The job interview goes smoothly, though they asked some unusual questions that didn't really fit the job profile. But Taehyung figured that a big and overly successful company would have its quirks. At the end of the interview though, the personnel manager mentioned something weird.
"We know we invited you here as an accountant, but we actually need someone for the CEO's assistance. Our CEO Mr. Jeon has currently 2 (one is Yuna) secretaries, but one will take a maternal leave soon. You actually fit the position for Mr. Jeon's secretary very well, so we would like to ask you to do this job instead. However, you could work as an accountant at first in order to learn about the company and then change full time to the CEO office."
That caught him off guard, however it didn't sound too boring though. Working directly for the CEO sounded challenging but also prestigious. Also, he was curious how the infamous Jungkook Jeon would be like.
"What you be my pay and how many hours do I have to work?"
The working load was reasonable, but the salary was triple the amount he got now. There was no way he would decline that offer.
The next few weeks Taehyung was busy finishing his remaining tasks at his old company and prepare for his first steps into his new job. He already received a letter which told him when to be where on his first day.
When the big day finally arrived, he entered the huge building anew and introduced himself as an employee. He then received all the necessary material to get started. He was given a name tag with his department as well as a key card that opened all the doors within the building and elevator. Taehyung was led to the accountant's floor where he met his boss, Namjoon Kim. A tall blonde man with a sturdy figure. They shortly talked and it seemed like Namjoon was an experienced and capable man, demanding but fair. This was something Taehyung could work with.
"So you will work with us for a few weeks until you will work in the 16th floor with our CEO. You will miss your time here." The blonde laughed playfully and introduced Taehyung to the other colleagues. The department was rather big and was equipped with the newest technologies. As expected from the country's most successful company.
Taehyung learned the ropes of his work and the company. All his colleagues were nice and weren't as stuck up as he feared from the prestigious company. The work wasn't much different from his previous company. Taehyung could easily find his way through the system and numbers and work with the others.
Throughout the weeks he spent a lot of time with his colleagues, also in the cafeteria. The food wasn't too bad either. He learned a lot about his colleagues and the company as about the CEO he was working for soon. Apparently, he was a complete jackass and everyone feared him. Which sounded funny to him, given that he is much younger than most of his staff.
"I only saw Mr. Jeon once on the elevator. He has a dark aura and is very rude. Everyone I know says that he is very commanding and punishes every mistake. Apparently, he even enjoys that." Yoongi says at the cafeteria table.
"Well, that doesn't sound like a promising future for me....." Taehyung replied.
"But you work neatly and deliver exceptional results. With you he shouldn't find anything to criticize." Jin added. "But knowing that kid, he probably will nonetheless."
"I'm flattered by your words, but you speak too highly of me. Though, to be honest I wonder how he even got that position. A twenty-year old shouldn't lead a company." Taehyung asked.
"I tell you, that boy got lucky! He married into the Kim' family with 19 and with him the business sky rocketed, and the previous CEO retired early because of him. That Jeon is so full of himself that he even changed the company's name to his name." Hoseok explained.
"But it also sounds like he has a clever head." Taehyung interjected. "I'll have to see myself in a few weeks."
"You might see him in the elevator and sometimes when he's bored, he wanders around the building just looking into the departments. If that happens, best practice is not looking at him. He will give you a death stare and you can expect some derogatory remark." Yoongi explained further.
"Noted." Taehyung concluded and continued eating his lunch.
He appreciated his colleagues that they were up for trash talking. Taehyung might join them soon after he encountered his future boss. He wasn't afraid, yet. But he also wasn't really looking forward to change departments. He liked his current colleagues. When he moves up to the 16th floor, he will make sure to visit them from time to time and continue eating lunch with them.
Taehyung wore a freshly cleaned suit and clean shoes. Today he would start working as the CEO's secretary. So far, he always exited the elevator on the 9th floor, but now he had to drive until the top floor. Exiting the elevator, the whole floor was basically a big entrance hall with a few leather sofas and two big desks in front of a huge double door, guarding the CEO'S office. Having arrived at his destination he meets the other secretary, Yuna Shin. A woman a few years younger than him, with blue eyes and ginger hair. She was very friendly and nice. She seemed a little clumsy and hectic though. This boss must be the cause for her restlessness. But he would have to find out about that himself.
"Since it's your first day, I will show you the basic things you need to do. Our boss is very demanding and tasks vary from day to day. Forwarding and writing e-mails, preparing business partner visits, organizing his schedule and the list goes on. There are a few rules you need to follow, but you will get the knack of it soon. Mr. Jeon usually comes into the office at around 10am, so he will be here shortly. Until then I will show you some things and how the coffee machine works. Do you also drink coffee?"
"Actually, I prefer tea. But thanks. I will be in your care." Taehyung gave her a short bow and they walked around the floor. There wasn't much to see, but Taehyung should know the general structure when he's working there and has to show guests the way.
It was shortly before 10am and the elevator's ring was heard from their desks. Yuna startled at the sound, knowing who will come now. Taehyung just sat calmly at his desk, already working on some e-mails as instructed by Yuna.
He hears footsteps and loud yawning. His boss turns around a corner and approaches him. Mr. Jeon wears a black suit that perfectly fitted his figure and accents his broad shoulders. A black tie, a white dress shirt and shiny black shoes completing the look. His whole appearance already screamed 'rich'. His short and dark brown hair was stylishly pushed back. Taehyung had to admit, his boss was really attractive.
Mr. Jeon stopped in between his secretaries' desks and stared at Taehyung with a coffee to go in his hand. Now that he stood this close to Taehyung, he could see his teal eyes and Taehyung couldn't get rid of the feeling that he has seen his boss somewhere before. But he didn't think any further/deeper into it. Mr. Jeon was a successful business man, he surely saw him in newspapers or similar.
"So this is the new guy?" The CEO asks while Taehyung stands up to properly greet him.
"Nice to meet you sir, my name is Taehyung Kim. I've been working in the accounting department for many years and it's an honor to work for you." He bowed respectfully and when he straightened his back again, their eyes locked. Mr. Jeon's face was expressionless, but his eyes were speaking for themselves. There was a moment of silence. For some reason he couldn't take his eyes off his boss and apparently neither could he.
Their gazes were intense and Taehyung didn't know what to think of this. Was it tension or anger? Was it suspicion or contempt? Before he could think about it any further, his boss spoke up.
"Yeah, yeah I don't care. I expect the best of my secretaries, so do your work properly and don't annoy me while you're here." He broke their eye contact and dismissed himself and waved him off as he walked into his office.
Taehyung hated to admit it, but his boss' voice was kinda sexy, which caught him off guard. But he also seemed like a jerk, just like everyone warned him. Taehyung was fuming by the brat's behavior. He was so full of himself and arrogant.
Taehyung already couldn't wait to go home that day.
Over the next weeks Taehyung got learn more about his boss. He grew familiar with the younger's habits, his routines, his schedule, everything. Taehyung followed him into conferences or assisted him. While doing all of this Taehyung learned that Mr. Jeon was indeed a highly capable man. He was relentless and cold with his business partners. He had his eyes on the money, he was direct but also charming in his enunciation. He made his decisions deliberately and he was willing to take risks. Working as his assistant made him realize why the company was doing so well. Under no circumstances would he want to argue with him, he would surely lose that discussion.
Occasionally Mr. Jeon's fiancée, Taeyeon Kim, would visit him in his office. However, whenever he overheard their conversations, they were only talking about business and it seemed to Taehyung that the romance in their relationship already faded away. But who was he to judge that?
He also learned that his boss was a notorious HYBE café visitor. The café chain had a shop nearby the company and since he went there almost every day, all the staff and regulars knew him so they didn't bother that one of the richest men of the country went there to get his drink.
Today, Mr. Jeon wasn't particularly busy and decided to wander around the company building for his usual shenanigans. Taehyung figured that while it indeed seemed like their CEO was just doing this for fun, he actually got a better insight to the departments and saw his employees. To say that Mr. Jeon didn't enjoy the shenanigans would be a lie though.
In the meantime, Taehyung went to the cafeteria and had lunch with his previous colleagues from the accounting department. As always, his colleagues were talking trash about everyone in the company and Taehyung was in for the tea.
"Mr. Jeon was on our floor earlier and he basically made us run around like crazy. As if we don't have anything better to do!"
"Yeah, and he was even laughing while doing that. Namjoon should really lecture him..." Yoongi said. But Taehyung was wondering if he ever saw their boss laugh.
"Anyway, I heard from a friend in the HR department that apparently he has some troubles with his fiancée and that he's cheating on her! Do you guys think he's looking for an older experienced woman? Or maybe he is a hidden pedophile." Jin said, stuffing a huge piece of potato in his mouth.
"I don't think he has time for that. Though I don't know about his fiancée." Taehyung interjected.
"You from all people should know the best." Hoseok laughed.
"He doesn't really talk about his private life, or to me in general. We keep it professional. All I know about him is from you guys." Which was in a way quite sad, considering that Taehyung was closer to Mr. Jeon than almost everyone in the company. He was intrigued by the man, but given that he was that much younger than him, he probably shouldn't get involved with him anyway.
"I see..." Yoongi said. „Anyway, I recently read an article about him and apparently Mr. Jeon actually comes from a poor family and used his charm to achieve wealth. Those gossip magazines really write whatever they want. Mr. Jeon's whole appearance and behavior conjecture that he has always been a wealthy man."
"But it's true that there is no information about his private life. So, who knows...."
They finished their meals and his friends went back to the 9th floor to continue working. Taehyung decided to go to HYBE café instead. He hasn't been there in ages and figured he could get his favorite drink from there. The street was busy with cars and people passing him.
Taehyung opens the shop's door and he sees none other than his boss at the counter talking to the cashier. His whole demeanor seemed completely different from what he was like in the company. He was happy, youthful and had a smile on his face. It was the first time he saw him laugh and it was captivating. Taehyung stood there like a fool staring at his boss a few meters away. However, it didn't seem like he noticed.
"The usual." Mr. Jeon said politely.
"So, a lemonade extra size." The cashier repeated as she pressed some buttons in the register.
Taehyung has seen Mr. Jeon enter his office almost daily with a drink from HYBE and always saw the color of the drink. But only now his brain made the connection as to what it was, he's been drinking all this time. Mr. Jeon might seem like an unlikeable guy, but having the same favorite drink as Taehyung gained him some likeable points for him.
It was a normal interaction, but for some reason Taehyung was yet again left dumbfounded wondering why this moment felt somewhat like a déjà vu.
Sharing the same favorite drink at HYBE café, became like a bonding experience for the two. By chance they went there at the same time and ended up drinking together or going back to the company together, giving them a lot of time to talk. At first it was more like an obligation, acknowledging the other's existence when they saw each other, but after some time the small talk started and grew from then on. However, it didn't change that Mr. Jeon was incredibly demanding in the office. But Taehyung had the feeling that his boss thawed/unbend with him.
It was a normal day and Taehyung sat at his desk on the 16th floor. Yuna was outside for her lunchbreak and his boss in his office. The elevator opened and two young people walked towards him. A boy with chin long blonde hair and nerdy glasses and a girl with black hair and a red muffler. By the way those two were dressed liked, Taehyung wondered how they even made it this far into the building. They looked like normal university students, so they shouldn't have any business on the top floor of this building.
Taehyung remained idle and watched them, as they approached, but was suspicious of them. The blonde looked to Yuna's empty desk and then to Taehyung. The pair stopped in front of Taehyung's desk.
"How may I help you?" Taehyung asks politely.
"We want to go to Jungkook." The girl said in a cold voice. Taehyung didn't have to check Mr. Jeon's schedule to know that there was a locked window as of now in there. Taehyung narrowed his eyes. For some reason he felt like he had to protect his boss. But maybe there was something else that made him uncomfortable.
"Just say it's Jimin and Ryujin." The blonde calmy says. Reluctantly, Taehyung grabbed his telephone and pressed the button that would directly connect him with his boss. It didn't take long for him to pick up the phone.
"What?" he sounded very annoyed.
"You have visitors sir."
"Huh? Who is it?"
"Uh, their names are Jimin and-" Before he could finish his sentence he got cut off.
"Let them in." His voice stern and he immediately hung up on him.
Taehyung then gestured the pair to enter the CEO's office. The boy smiled and gave him a small bow while the girl just ignored him and walked towards the door with a bored look on her face. He looked over his shoulder and saw them enter and heard them talking. He was curious and rolled with his chair closer to the door to eavesdrop on their conversation.
They were casually calling him by his first name, friends probably. But for some reason it bothered Taehyung.
"I even put you guys visiting in my calendar, but I'm just so busy these days that I totally forgot." Jungkook whined. Taehyung never though he would hear him make these kinds of sounds. He continues listening to their conversation. They were talking about nothing in particular and Taehyung noticed how different he was with them in comparison to everyone in the company. He was a little softy with those two and finally sounded his age.
"Did you visit mom?" The girl asks at some point. A loud sigh escaped Jungkook's mouth. Mom? Taehyung asked himself. They are siblings? He learned more and more about his boss, it was fascinating.
"I haven't...." he replied and somehow it felt like Taehyung shouldn't be eavesdropping on his private matters, but he couldn't stop himself. He wanted to know more, more of his boss.
"Anyway, how much longer do you wanna keep this going with Taeyeon? You won't become happy like this and-" Jimin said but got cut off by his friend.
"Jimin, we've talked about this okay. Ryujin and me, we were broke beyond compare and I can't get out of this deal that easily. I am still young, I can find a partner later."
"But Jungko-"
"Enough."
At this point Taehyung realized that he should've stopped listening a long time ago. He also realized that there was much more to his boss than what met the eye.
The next few days passed as usual. Taehyung felt like he got closer to his boss in a way. Not that he was allowed to call him by his name or anything, but he got really comfortable talking with him. He also caught himself checking out his boss on several occasions. His eyes lingered on his boss longer than they should. The man was engaged, straight, much younger than him and not to mentions his boss. This could only go wrong.
Taehyung walks to his desk with a bag with two Lemonades from HYBE. Ever since he got closer to his boss, his lemonade consumption rose and he should probably lessen the amount of sugar he intakes. He puts the bag on his desk and takes off his coat. Mr. Jeon came out of his office and was ready to receive his drink. He seemed like an eager little kid. It was cute.
"Ah, I forgot to give you the money for the drink." His boss said.
"No, problem. Just-" He couldn't possibly say his go to sentence in this situation. "uh, pay the next time or another time. I don't mind."
"Alright." Taehyung handed him his drink and he already turned on his heels to go back to his office, when Yuna returned.
"Taehyung! You surely haven't heard yet, but there'll be a company party soon. The information mail came when you were outside. I'm already so excited."
"Oh, what are those parties like?"
"Basically, everyone getting wasted." She laughs and Taehyung noticed that his boss still hasn't entered his office yet.
"Sounds like fun. Who will be there?" he asked.
"Almost everyone. I mean of course there are those that don't like these parties or are busy, but generally everyone is invited. Will you come too?" she asked cheerfully. From the side of his eye, he could see that the taller man staring at him, awaiting his reply.
"Yes, of course." He replied truthfully and with a small smirk.
It's in the middle of spring and the company party celebrated the company's day of foundation. The staff was distributed in a huge bar on the 6th floor of a hotel. It was a common event location and had an amazing view over the city and the river. As expected, the main purpose for this event was drinking alcohol, but Taehyung also got to spend some time with his former colleagues in the accounting department. He sat at a table with Hoseok, Yoongi and Jin. His colleagues drinking beer, like the majority, while Taehyung had a fancy glass of red wine in front of him. The evening went by nicely and he wasn't surprised to see Mr. Jeon at the party either. He even gave a short speech at the beginning about the company's solidarity and how team work is the key to success. What Taehyung didn't expect though, was that he was basically wasting himself with the alcohol. However, he still seemed fine and politely told everyone who asked him for a favor or a pay raise to "fuck off". He was clearly trying to enjoy himself. Taehyung gladly observed the spectacle.
When it was around 1am the hall got emptier but there were still a bunch of people. Taehyung also just continued drinking several glasses of wine and just chatted with people he knew. At some point his boss suddenly grabbed the chair next to his and sat down. More than sitting down, his upper body laid on the table and his boss looked at him. Taehyung was the only one to turn to his boss, because the others didn't even notice and remained in their conversation.
"When I first met you, you were already super handsome!" his boss slurred. That statement caught him off guard, but at the same time he qualified that statement as he was clearly drunk.
"I mean, look at that face! You're surely married or have a girlfriend. I really don't know." He talked promiscuously and didn't seem to stop his rambling.
Taehyung quickly gazed over to his colleagues, but they didn't seem to care that their boss joined their table. He studied his boss' appearance and the alcohol gave his cheeks a light pink color. He really looked cute. Earlier when he held his speech, Taehyung obviously checked him out and again, he couldn't deny his sexy appearance. His tie was now loosened a little and revealed a little bit of his neck.
Taehyung stared at his boss all over and a small smile found his way on his face. His own cheeks start blushing, clearly the alcohol. His boss then passed out on the table and Taehyung wondered what to do. He should call him a taxi or something, but he didn't know where he lived so that would be pointless. He figured Yuna knew what to do. He'd just ask her what to do with him. Taehyung might just be his secretary, but he felt like he needed to look out for him. Taehyung looked around the hall, but didn't find Yuna or anyone from the higher ups that might have some more information about him.
Since Taehyung was also getting more tired and he couldn't leave his boss at the party he decided to bring him to a hotel. He would just pay for him and go back home. He didn't dare to leave Mr. Jeon vulnerable like that in the company of all the workforce.
Taehyung said goodbye to his table friends and no one scrutinized why he half-carried the CEO. He had his arm around his shoulder and the other hand on his waist. Taehyung could tell that he frequently worked out. His fiancée surely was lucky.
On the way out he asked a staff about a nearby hotel and called a taxi. Despite Mr. Jeon sleeping, Taehyung could carry him effortlessly. During the car ride, Taehyung stared out the window and enjoyed the warmth his boss' body emanated. His head also laid on his shoulder and his hair tickled Taehyung's neck. They arrived at a 3-star hotel, nothing luxurious but it would do the job. After paying for the room, they used the elevator to reach the room. Mr. Jeon started to wake up.
"Sir, I booked this hotel room for the night for you." Taehyung guided him toward the bed and it seemed like his boss didn't want to let go of him. Taehyung tried to let him sit on the bed, but with a strong pull Mr. Jeon dragged Taehyung on the bed with him.
Now Taehyung was on top of his boss and supported himself with one arm in order to not to lay fully on him. Their eyes locked and suddenly they were both no longer tired. He looked at the passion in his eyes, the lust, the beauty. It seemed like time stopped and they were only existing to look at each other, to feel each other. Their bodies were naturally pressed together by gravity and Taehyung felt the warmth from his boss. His boss was illegally hot and Taehyung would bang him on the spot. But he had some conscience/consciousness/awareness left in him. He studied his face and saw a slight smirk.
"Call me Jungkook." He said and pressed his lips against Taehyung's. His lips were soft and he tasted like lemons. He must have drunk some lemon cocktails earlier. Jungkook closed his eyes and intensified the kiss and grabbed Taehyung's neck with both hands. He also pushed up his hips to press against Taehyung's crotch.
Taehyung deepened the kiss with a passion that would definitely lead to something else.
Taehyung woke up with Jungkook's head on his bare chest. Luckily, he didn't drink too much yesterday and only had a slight headache, nothing too bad. Taehyung heard a yawn from Jungkook, indicating that the other is already awake as well.
"Uh-" Taehyung voiced in a weak voice and the one on his chest immediately turned around. Jungkook looked a little tired, but given the state he was in yesterday he looked good. His boss gave him a faint smile and pushed himself off him and stood up facing away from Taehyung.
Taehyung saw his naked body standing near the bed and saw him reaching for his clothes and started getting dressed. He was lying if he said he didn't enjoy the view, though he would've preferred to see the front. He wondered what to feel now. He slept with his boss, the CEO of the whole company. Sure, they were drunk, but at the end of the day they both were making the choice actively, consenting to the act. And Taehyung enjoyed it, maybe a little too much.
The bossy and smugly brat was nowhere to be seen when he pushed him down with his hand on his stomach, thrusting into him. From what he recalls the younger was also really into it. Frankly, he didn't expect his boss to initiate that kiss and the rest of the night. Unlike Taehyung, he was an engaged man. Therefore, Taehyung knew it was stupid of him to ask, but he couldn't stop himself.
"So, what was.....this?" Taehyung asked carefully and leaned his back on the bed's headboard, sitting straight against it. Jungkook buttoned his business shirt and turned to Taehyung.
"Whatever you want it to be." He said playfully, yet indifferently and slightly aloof. As if he doesn't want to be the one to hastily getting himself into any commitment or obligations. He pulls up his black business pants. He scanned over Taehyung's exposed torso, his eyes lingering on his chest before looking into his eyes. And there it was again, that intense stare. It sent an electric pulse through his body and Taehyung could hardly control himself. It has been weeks since he noticed that there was something between their gazes, but now that he is laying here naked, it all felt even more intense. Taehyung saw him gulping and sighing by his continued silence.
"You don't need to worry, I won't tell your coworkers about this and I won't fire you, if that's what you're worried about. Or what is it that you want, Taehyung?" Jungkook asked with the same smirk he did before they started kissing and that was the moment Taehyung couldn't control himself any longer.
"I want more." Taehyung grabbed him by his collar and kissed him with the same passion they started their sensual night. The younger smiled against his lips and he knew this was the right thing to do.
After they spend the rest of day in the bed, they went their separate ways and saw each other again on Monday. He was afraid that it might be awkward or that Yuna would notice anything. As always Yuna and him arrived at the office earlier than Mr. Jeon. They talked about the company party but she didn't suspect anything which relieved Taehyung. All his other coworkers and friends from the accounting department didn't suspect anything either.
However, as soon as Mr. Jeon came into the office that day it didn't take long until they locked the office's door and made out. Weeks passed like this and they always found an opportunity to be alone and get each other off, in one way or another. They developed a secret relationship secluded from everyone's knowledge. Their relationship was just physical though. Their bodies worked in harmony and Jungkook was such a good kisser, Taehyung never wanted to stop having his body to himself.
When Jungkook's schedule allowed it and Yuna was gone, Taehyung would press him against the table to kiss him, sliding his hand under his shirt. Refraining from touching his hair, because they still had to look presentable later on. But they had enough fun either way.
Whenever the younger was under his control it seemed like Taehyung got to learn more about the younger's real self. The younger was cheeky nonetheless, he kept up an act in front of the others. Calling Taehyung by his last name and not hinting any intimacy in the way he talked. But now that Taehyung knew how he really is, it was amusing to watch and play along this game pretending to be strangers. They couldn't let anyone find out about them after all.
Some days, like today, they would lock the door, close the curtains and go all the way. Taehyung riled Jungkook up especially and made him impatient enough to put in his dick without a condom. Taehyung came inside him and made sure to ejaculate out all of his cum deep inside him, marking his territory. He gave him a final kiss before pulling out.
"Why do you always manage to get put a condom on me but not on you?" Jungkook pulled his pants back up, sounding a little irritated as he sighs. Only when they finished, the horny boy came back to his senses.
"Because your suit needs to stay clean, the rest can be easily fixed with tissues." Taehyung kept his hands on the younger's waist after getting dressed himself. Today he came inside him on purpose though, knowing his fiancée and future father-in-law will come any minute now, and Taehyung liked the thought of Jungkook having his cum deep inside him and slowly dripping out of his ass. The younger didn't know about this short-term appointment just yet though.
He looked into the other's eyes and lost himself in his mesmerizing teal eyes yet again. He quickly looked down to adjust his boss' tie. Jungkook looked away from Taehyung while he did so. He took longer than necessary to fix the tie, not wanting to let go just yet. This is only physical Taehyung reminded himself before he left the office.
It was lunch time and since a long time Taehyung finally sat at a table with his usual colleagues from the 9th floor. He sometimes missed out on these get togethers due to his busy schedule and sometimes because of Jungkook. During lunch break it was easy to be left alone after all. During their meal Taehyung stayed more quiet than usual, thinking about his relationship with Jungkook and how wrong it was. He was confused by Jungkook. He was promised to another, the leader of the company and yet he allowed Taehyung into his life like this. He appreciated it, but we wondered where all of this is leading to, because Taehyung started to feel things he shouldn't.
"It's been a while since you've eaten with us Taehyung!" Hoseok patted his back too energetically.
"Ah, it's just Ere- Mr. Jeon is very busy these days and as his secretary I have to tag along the whole time. I am doing a lot of over hours." Taehyung almost slipped there. He was used to call him Jungkook when he felt comfortable, but with his colleagues it's an exception.
"I see. I guess that's the reason why Mr. Jeon came down to pester us less often. Not only that, he has become less of a jerk whenever I see him." Yoongi said. Taehyung wanted to make remark about the insult towards Jungkook, but couldn't. "He almost seems like a normal human."
"Maybe he's finally getting laid by his soon-to-be wife." Hoseok laughed loudly. "Their wedding is approaching after all. Only a few more months left."
Uneasiness overcame Taehyung and he lost his appetite. He couldn't follow the conversation anymore.
"Let's be honest. He's a cunning man, he wouldn't do this if he didn't benefit from the wedding."
"True, they are planning a huge ceremony and apparently the whole staff will be invited as well. It's ridiculous." They kept joking, but Taehyung just sat there in silence.
"Don't worry Taehyung, as his personal secretary you will probably sit very close to the alter!" Hoseok clapped his back, which snapped him back into reality. Everyone was laughing, except for Taehyung.
He isn't sure if he even wants to attend the wedding, given how he feels.
It was a normal Friday afternoon and Taehyung packed his stuff to leave the office. Today Jungkook would go home with him. Jungkook lives with his fiancé and her family, so bringing Taehyung into the mansion to have some fun together was out of the question. On most days Jungkook used a cap to come to work anyway, so there was no car left behind at the company's garage.
Taehyung drives his car and Jungkook sits on the passenger seat with the backrest reclined a little. His boss was tired and laid on his shoulder, facing him. He looked so vulnerable like this. His eyes are closed but it didn't look like he was actually sleeping. But still, Taehyung looked at him with tender eyes whenever he could throughout the ride.
"We're here. Do you want me to carry you in?" Taehyung teased the younger, gaining a groan.
"No thanks, you're gonna break your back, old man." Jungkook teased back and got out of the car.
Taehyung's apartment was small in comparison to Jungkook's house. At least that's what he thinks. He's never been to the other's place before. Taehyung's place wasn't special though, it was just a typical bachelor apartment that was extraordinarily clean. Jungkook has been over several times already that he knew his way around the apartment fairly well by now. Taehyung didn't mind him walking around the apartment or taking a seat somewhere.
They haven't eaten a lot earlier, which is why Taehyung started cooking something simple for them. Jungkook stood in the doorframe and watched Taehyung cook. Their usual banter about how and what to cook, nothing serious. Whenever Jungkook noticed that he lost the debate he would kiss Taehyung to make him stop talking.
The TV's volume was low and only filled the room in the background while the two ate their dinner in the living room. Taehyung grew fond of these moments with him. It made him happy to see Jungkook smile whenever they were together. He could lose himself in his eyes and smiles.
After they finished eating, Jungkook cozily sat on the couch and watched TV until Taehyung returned from cleaning the dishes. It seemed like he was tired and just wanted to relax. When Taehyung returned, he saw him sit up straight again, as if he wanted to meet Taehyung's expectations, as if he wanted to follow the same routine for him. He sat down next to the younger. Jungkook grabbed his dress shirt and wanted to lift it up in order to undress when Taehyung put his hands on his to stop him.
"You know..... we don't have to have sex." Taehyung said compassionately. Jungkook wanted to speak up, but decided not to. Instead, he let go of his shirt and looked at the older a little dumbfounded. To Taehyung he looked cute though.
"We can sit here on the couch and watch whatever drama is on TV. And then we go to bed." He suggested.
"That's..... actually, a really nice plan." Jungkook smiled brightly.
They spent the night cuddling in front of the TV, talking a little here and there, until they went to bed where they finally fell asleep in the other's arms.
The wedding day was approaching and Taehyung hasn't sorted out his feelings yet. He admitted to himself that he likes Jungkook. Really like him. But he doesn't know what to do with them. He can't just burst out his feelings to the other when he is about to get married and all the wedding preparations run at full speed. He also doesn't know what the younger feels. Taehyung once overheard his friends being against his marriage with Taeyeon, but he doesn't know what's going on in his head.
Taehyung exists his apartment and sees a black jaguar. Jungkook leaned on the hood where he stared into his mobile. Just like Taehyung he was fully dressed in a suit.
"What are you doing here this early in the morning." Taehyung approached him with one hand in his pockets.
"I thought I could give you a ride to work. I was nearby anyway." Jungkook most likely lied, but Taehyung let it slide.
"Oho, I see." He smiled smugly as he entered the car. "Let's see if Mr. CEO is able to drive a car on his own."
"Shut up." Jungkook rolled his eyes and started the engine.
At the office, business was as usual. However, Taeyeon and her family would call from time to time in order to ask Jungkook about the wedding's decorations and food decisions. He was the groom after all. Nevertheless, Taehyung wasn't very fond of hearing or seeing Jungkook's fiancée. He always feared that she might notice what's going on between them and he felt inferior to her, despite being older and more experienced than her.
She was the one who lived with Jungkook, she was the one engaged to him, she was rich, young, full of vitality and pretty. She was the one to see him on a daily basis at home and could call or visit him without causing suspicion. She had everything Taehyung wanted: Jungkook.
Taehyung shakes his head and continues working. Suddenly Jungkook stood in front of him and handed him a Lemonade. Taehyung wanted to speak up, but Jungkook just pressed the drink in his hand and waved off his act of kindness and walked away. Unfortunately, his favorite drink didn't help clear his mind either.
It's afternoon and Yuna finished early that day. Taehyung was alone in the office with Jungkook. Jungkook continuously asked him to come into his office several times, but Taehyung declined every time, because Jimin and Ryujin would soon arrive. After the 50th time, he got persuaded after all with the reason, that they would hear the elevator.
Taehyung sat on the chair in front of Jungkook.
"So, what is it that you want from me?" he played all innocent.
"I wanted to ask you something." Jungkook sounded unexpectantly solemn. "What you think.... How this is going to end....." he was being vague, but Taehyung instantly knew what he meant. There was a moment of silence.
"I like it. More than I'd like to admit." Taehyung stands up and straddles over Jungkook's chair. He grabs his hair and kisses him passionately, hoping to convey all the feelings he left unsaid. "But I want you to know..." he managed to say in between the kisses.
Jungkook kissed him back, but not as passionately.
They were so distracted with their kissing, that they didn't notice the door opening and two people entering. Only when Jimin coughed loudly, they ripped apart from each other to look at the source of the noise. Taehyung felt never this humiliated in his life before.
Taehyung jumped off Mr. Jeon and fixed his suit standing next to him. Jungkook coughed and straightened his shirt and hair as well.
"So, uhm.... This is-" Jungkook gestured towards Taehyung to introduce him, but got interrupted by Jimin.
"Mr. Kim, we know. Your secretary." Jimin shyly scratched his head, obviously uncomfortable with the whole situation.
"Jungkook, what are you thinking?" Ryujin's voice was deep as usual. She didn't sound irritated though, annoyed maybe.
"I-Uh, I think I will clock off." Taehyung hasted out of the office, just wanting to leave the place.
After the embarrassing incident Taehyung and Jungkook didn't met outside of work. They saw each other daily at work and pretended like nothing happened. They didn't talk or kiss each other. After a week Taehyung suggested Jungkook to come over to his apartment after work. He missed him, but he couldn't say that to the other.
They casually entered Taehyung's apartment in silence. The way things were going they weren't going to bang anytime soon that day.
"So, uhm- I think we need to talk. Your wedding is only 3 weeks away." Taehyung said while putting his suit jacket over a chair. Jungkook fumbles in his suit pocket and put a paper on the dining table. He turned around and walked towards the other side of the table.
"The wedding invitation. Don't worry, I didn't forget about you. You will even be in one of the front rows." Jungkook nonchalantly puts his suit jacket over a chair as well, slightly leaning forward. Taehyung couldn't believe how shamelessly Jungkook just put the wedding invitation on his table. Taehyung knew that he got the short end of the deal, but not like this. Something within Taehyung snapped.
"The audacity you have to put that here after everything. Say, Jungkook what was this to you. What am I to you?" Taehyung's voice was threatening.
"Uhm, well I- I mean, I like you, sure. But you know, I am engaged and-"
"Then why?!" Taehyung cut him off. He slammed his hands on the table, furious at Jungkook's carefree demeanor and enunciation. He made it all sound like a damn joke. "I know you Jungkook, you're a cunning man and only do things that benefit you. Then why would you act all selfless with me? You did thing you didn't need to, things that didn't benefit you. Why would you give me all this false hope just to let me stand here like a fool?" Taehyung grew louder and louder, not caring if he disturbed the neighbors or anything.
"You know how I feel and yet you shamelessly come to give me the damn invitation in person. You know what, I should've never gotten involved with you to begin with." He continues mockingly. Jungkook just stutters some noises, trying to placate him with insincere excuses, but Taehyung ignored him.
"I can't do this anymore. You could've chosen me, but now I am just tossed away like a piece of shit. Get out of here Jungkook. I've had enough." Tears, started forming in Taehyung's eyes. "Leave!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. Jungkook looked troubled but complied the demand.
Taehyung knew his relationship and feelings for Jungkook were of no avail, but he didn't expect the relationship to go down like this.
The big day finally was there. Today Jungkook was going to get hitched with Taeyeon. After the huge fight with Jungkook, Taehyung immediately took all his vacation days in order to not see him for as long as possible. He wanted to quit his job, but he needed the money. He needed to find a new job first before he could quit there.
Taehyung sat on the passenger seat with Hoseok driving them to the wedding hall. He reluctantly got dragged by Hoseok to attend the ceremony. He sat there with crossed arms and a foul mood. As much as he wanted to avoid the event, missing out on it would cause a lot of suspicion. And even though he doesn't want to admit it, he craved to see Jungkook one last time. He wanted to see how ethereal he would look in his custom-made wedding suit, how he would smile to everyone and get his happy end. Taehyung must really be a masochist for wanting to see this.
The wedding took place in a huge hotel meeting room. There was an elevated stage with flowers and a lectern. The whole place was beautifully decorated with flowers and ornaments. In front of the stage there were at least 30 rows with banks to sit on. Each of the rows around 20 meters. The whole set up was ridiculously huge. But there were a lot of people invited after all. Business partners, family and friends and most of the company staff. Considering that each person usually brings a partner, it was no wonder that there were surely 500 people inside the hall, despite not everyone following the invitation.
Taehyung stared in awe at the hole wedding room and looked for familiar people. Hoseok and him quickly found the usual suspects they hung out with. Taehyung tried his best to appear normal and enjoy the event. There was a lot of food and alcohol. He tried drinking some of the expensive champagne, but even that tasted bad. As expected from Jungkook there was also Lemonade, but that didn't taste either.
While eating with his group he coincidentally saw Jungkook exit a door with Jimin and Ryujin. They were all appropriately clothes and Jungkook looked gorgeous. He was shyly scratching his head when he walked with his two friends. Taehyung was thankful that the others haven't spotted their CEO, because otherwise they might want to greet him and congratulate him. But he was busy with all the important people there anyway.
Taehyung's heart ached when he saw Mr. Jeon walk around and smile like there was nothing bothering him. He seemed happy. He shakes his head and continues eating. After a while he stands up to grab a snack from the buffet. Someone pushed him and he accidentally rammed a slightly taller man.
"Sorry about that." Taehyung said and no other than his CEO himself turned around. How unlucky he was. When the younger saw Taehyung, his eyes grew wider and sparkled. More than they did earlier, at least that's what he likes to think.
"Mr. Jeon." Taehyung says dryly and immediately saw the other's face sink.
"I-...!" Mr. Jeon desperately begins, but gets interrupted by his secretary.
"You had your chance." His feeble voice was only above a whisper. "If you'd excuse me, Sir. I need to go back to my seat. Congratulations on your wedding, Mr. Jeon." Taehyung said more determinately and shortly bowed before hushing back to his colleagues. The CEO wanted to follow him, but got stopped by some guests talking to him.
By now Taehyung really wondered why he was still there. He saw Jungkook twice already, so that should be enough. But somehow, he wants to see and hear himself how the love of his life promises himself to another. He needs it to finally let go. Taehyung was snapped out of his thoughts when Taeyeon's father stood on stage and started talking into the microphone.
"The wedding ceremony is about to begin, please find your seats in front of the stage."
The time has finally come, he was about to witness his own doom. He hesitantly pushed himself up from his chair and slowly walked with the others towards the banks. The seats were assigned and as promised, Taehyung sat in the first row, much to his dismay.
The front row was reserved for the closest family and friends. Yuna was supposed to sit there too, but since she came with her boyfriend, they were relocated into the second row.
So here he was. Sitting on the bank with Jungkook's closest people. Of course, Ryujin and Jimin sat next to him. They each brought their partners, whom he has never saw before. Jimin's girlfriend was also blonde and had a distinctive nose while Ryujin's boyfriend looked like a horse.
The string quartet was playing slow wedding music while everyone was still looking for their seats, everyone seemed to look forward to the ceremony, except for Taehyung. He looked over to the other side of the bank where he saw Taeyeon's family and friends. Her row was more filled with people than Jungkook's.
The pastor already stands on the stage and skims through his book, preparing himself for his speech. Shortly after Jungkook also went up the stage and the room turned quiet. Taehyung watched him find his position on stage and could only admire him. He looked breathtaking. He was only a few meters away from him and he could see his facial expressions perfectly. He notices that the younger was nervous.
There was a moment of silence before the orchestra started playing the wedding march on repeat. This was the cue for Taeyeon to walk on stage with a bouquet in her hands. She walked slowly, extending Taehyung's pain. As expected, she looked pretty. Her blonde hair was nicely done and the white bridal dress brushed over the floor. He looked back to Jungkook who was hardly smiling. The nervousness must have gotten the best of him.
When Taeyeon reached the middle of the stage as well, she stopped and held hands with Jungkook. Now it was the pastor's time to hold his speech:
"Dear ladies and gentlemen, we have come together of to witness and celebrate an act of deep love. The joining together of this man and this woman in the bond of marriage......"
Taehyung barely listened to the speech, he couldn't care less about the pastor's words. Instead, he overserved Jungkook who grew more and more nervous and seemed somewhere else with his mind. He observed the ceremony with crossed arms, looking everywhere but Jungkook, at least he tried to. Jungkook was stealing glances at Taehyung throughout the speech too.
After a while the pastor spoke to the audience again:
"If any of those present object to this connection, let them speak now or forever hold their peace." At that moment Jungkook looked at Taehyung with intense eyes. Almost as if he wanted Taehyung to speak up. But Taehyung only reciprocated that gaze with a scowl. He wasn't happy and he wanted Jungkook to see that. He didn't want to be his sanctuary. After a moment Jungkook turned his head away again to look at his soon-to-be bride. There was no turning back anymore.
Since no one spoke up, the pastor continued his speech and the wedding rings were brought onto the stage. Taehyung noticed the sweat beads on Jungkook's face and neck. He seemed unusually nervous, but a wedding is a big deal after all, especially with this many people.
It was now the final part of the wedding. They only had to say 'I do' and right after they would kiss, sealing their marriage. Taehyung was already dreading that moment. He wasn't sure if he could even look at it. He figured there won't be a kiss if one of them said 'I don't', but he knew that wasn't going to happen anyway.
The pastor turned to Taeyeon and asked her solemnly:
"Do you, Taeyeon Kim want to marry Jungkook Jeon?"
She quickly gazed over to her father with a happy expression and smiled towards the pastor.
"I do." She maintained her genuine smile.
Jungkook gulped and his eyes darted left and right. Taehyung's mood sank more and more the more the ceremony continued. By now he just wanted it to be over. He wants to hear Jungkook say the words he should've told him if they ever got the chance to marry, but now he is damned to see him give this promise to someone else.
The pastor now turned to Jungkook, asking him the same question as Taeyeon. Jungkook looked to Taehyung who watched him defeatedly. Jungkook opened his mouth and was about to say something, but remained quiet.
He gasps before he gave his final answer:
"I-..."
