Bring me to life

Summary:

A story that came about from an idea I had while on the brink of falling asleep.

Story status: Complete ✅

Notes:

Hello, I am not used to working with AO3 as I’ve used Wattpad for many years. With that being said I’m sorry if the story is bad or if there are errors. Another thing, sometimes I vent or project my feelings through characters while creating stories. Not always but I do sometimes write out my feelings ❤️

(This is an Itakugi story)

Tokyo Public Hospital, where Kugisaki Nobara spent most of her evenings. Rather that be during the school weeks or the weekends. She stayed there for as long as her visiting hours would allow her. The girl sat on the small office chair they'd placed next to her grandmothers bed for her. She stared outside the window as her Grandmother slept underneath the mandatory clear blue bed sheets. Maybe the answer to her problems would be somewhere buried in the snowy landscapes of Tokyo.

Maybe the answer to all her problems laid somewhere out there. But as dark as it is, it would be too hard to find anything. Whatever it may be, it could be a person or money or something. She just needs answers...and fast. If her Grandma doesn't make it then where would she go? What could she do? She couldn't go to Itadori or Fushiguro . They didn't even know her grandma was sick and hospitalized.

Even if she told them, she would only burden Itadori. But, then again, he's such an airhead, he would probably never understand. As for Fushiguro, he has a girlfriend and she seriously doesn't want to get into the way of that. The whole "boyfriend having a girl best friend" thing never works. Either the girlfriend manages to make the boyfriend hate his best friend, or the best friend is a bitch and she gets in the way. Not that Nobara would ever purposefully get in the way.

It's not like it matters if her friends are in relationships or not. They're all growing older, they're bound to fall in love and other shit. Eventually they'll get married, they'll be busy and they'll only grow further apart. It's truthfully sad isn't it? It isn't like she wanted to be with either of them, she's just their friend. But, of course, love and jealously would cloud all logical reasoning and make that hard to comprehend for anyone.

She sighed as a soft knocking broke her from her thoughts. "Come in." She voiced as the ever so friendly doctor came in. She had long purple hair that was tied up by a white bow into a half up half down style. An odd-yet pretty horizontal scar that stretched across most of her face. And Big brown fall like eyes to complete her look. She's such a lovely woman.

Nobara had adored her and looked up to her for many years. Ever since her and Yūji first became friends in their 1st year of middle school, she's adored and looked up to the woman. She served as sort of a mentor to Nobara.

"It's getting late Nobara, why don't you head home?"
She asked as she fixed her grandma's bedding.

"Oh, I was just leaving..." Nobara answered softly. This wasn't like her at all, this whole situation is causing her to have a complete personality shift. But, can you really blame her?

"Okay, just make sure to get home safe dear. I know this is hard on you." She said as she placed a comforting hand on Nobara's shoulder. She gave her a sympathetic smile.

"Yeah." She mumbled. Nobara stood and left the room as Dr. Utahime continued making her grandmas death bed more comfortable. She took the elevator to the lobby and signed out at the front desk.

She walked through the snow to the bus stop. Just thinking. After her grandma dies she's going to be all alone. Both her parents already mysteriously went missing after a failed investigation as detectives. Her grandpa died before she was born and now her grandma. She'll be alone in what used to be their apartment. She'll have to work twice as hard to pay for hospital and apartment bills. She'll have to figure out how to cook for herself; it'll at least have to be better than what she's capable of at the moment.

That's all only true if she doesn't end up in an orphanage. And even if she did she would just run away. The bus let her off in front of their apartment. She switched the light on and settled in. After completing her night routine she laid in her bed and snuggled her only source of comfort at the moment, her old Teddy bear. She got it for Christmas and just never let go. If anyone found out they'd never let her live it down. Her skin warmed underneath the coverage of her plush pink comforter, resting her head on her fluffy white pillows.

Each night was restless for her, every since her grandma was hospitalized. Each night she goes to bed terrified of waking up to a call from the hospital. Whoever would be on the other end of the line would utter those heart shattering words to her. She has no idea how long her grandma has left. However, she knows she'll spend every last second of her time with her, all the way up until her grandmas last breath.
