the early morning rays of sun peer through partially closed curtains, the light shining directly into your eyes much to your dismay; if you were asleep before, you most definitely weren’t now. you slowly sit up so as not to disturb the scruffy haired man still sound asleep next to you, stretching and humming in delight as everything pops into place. you smile down at steven, one of your hands instinctively reaching out to pet what was soon to be a bedhead. a quiet sort of hum mixed with a grunt leaves your boyfriend, the way he shifts in bed making half his face remain buried in his pillow while the other half peeks up: you want to squeal, the way he’s almost hugging the pillow making your entire body go warm with endearment. you want to let him sleep, honestly, you knew how hard it was for steven to get to sleep AND stay asleep; but…he was right there, completely vulnerable to being cuddled and god, how could you say no to such an opportunity?
quietly, you settle back down next to the scruffy haired man, wiggling closer and letting your fingertips brush his exposed cheek. “steeeveen…~” you whisper in a sweet tone, making sure to take in every single beautiful feature of the man in front of you as he slightly stirs in his sleep. you press a delicate kiss to his eyelid and continue to scatter kisses over the side of his face, smiling softly when steven’s brow furrows under your lips. a soft grunt leaves the scruffy haired man as he blinks awake, eyelids droopy with sleep as he looks up at you. “good morning, my love.” you giggle, rubbing your cheek against his and feeling the way he heats up. steven simply grumbles in response as he tries to hide his face, a tired but shy smile tugging at his lips. you brush some hair out of your boyfriend’s eyes and cup his cheek, your thumb brushing it to which he practically melts and almost falls right back asleep: THIS was the start of yet another perfect morning. “come on, darling, you know i can’t make breakfast without you.” you hum softly, moving to hook your legs around steven’s waist and pressing your chest against his back. “i’ll starve then.” he mumbles, tensing up a bit when you bury your face into the back of his neck; you’d take any chance to get steven worked up even for a little bit.
you can’t help but smile as you gently wrap your arms around his neck, cuddling impossibly closer to your boyfriend. “pleease, i’ll make your favorite.” you say in a sing-song voice, tilting your head to press a kiss to his ear to which steven simply whines. finally, the scruffy haired man lifts his head, making you sit up as he props himself up on his elbows. “happy?” he says with a raspy voice that sends chills down your spine. “very.” you say, climbing off steven’s back to crouch next to him and press an eager kiss to his lips. you smile into the kiss when you feel your boyfriend’s shaky breathing, the nerves he still felt kissing and touching you making you so in love with him that you barely knew what to do with yourself. pulling away, you take steven’s hands and help him stand and shaking them around to make the two of them shimmy a bit. “now, come on. any later and i won’t be in the mood to cook.”
